A 40-year-old man, Olarewaju Osasonna has told an Ikole- Ekiti Customary Court, Ekiti State, that he could no longer cope with the foul smell from his wife, Kafayat, due to her dirty ways of living.

“My wife is very dirty to the extent of packing used baby napkins with faeces for days in the house without washing them and this made everywhere in the house to smell.

“Again, she doesn’t know how to cook food; always cooking tasteless meals and will never take to correction on her dirty habit.

“Above all, she does not care for the well-being of our two children as a responsible mother should be doing,” Osasonna said.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the petitioner further informed the court that his estranged wife was in the habit of cursing him and his family members whenever they had misunderstandings.

He, therefore, prayed the court to dissolve the seven-year-old marriage for alleged dirtiness and inability to prepare decent meals.

He also urged the court to award him custody of the first child and promised to pay N3,000 monthly upkeep for the second child. Kafayat declined to cross-examine her husband and said she would state her own side of the story when she testifies.

President of the court, Mrs Yemisi Ojo, adjourned the case till October 11 for the testimony of the wife.

    • See Evelyn, u wudnt understand….I have dis friend I love so much, buh d way she smells down there is somethin else, I mean very strong foul smell. She’s d type u can’t tell her to even reduce her makeup….she just hate been corrected, let alone tellin her she’s nt clean.     • Charles i know and believe u love her and care for her . Try bringing up this talk in a way u guys discuss other serious issues, do not say it in a way to make her uncomfortable… let her see reasons with u to get to the hospital for a test. I believe she has female friends and if her situation is that pronounced ,I believe they must have told her about it too. If she still refuses to do something about it? Its would be very bad of her.

    • If u have a female family doctor or something, u could try making her have a talk with her too. Its very bad and unnatural for a lady to have such issues in her private part…and who knows if its one of the dangerous infections, it could lead to another problems. Any lady with such problem has to do something about with immediate effect.

Your pretending girlfriend may be clean but that is never a guarantee that when married and children start coming she must remain clean. Some of the guys insulting don’t even have a pot or allow there girlfriends to cook different meal for them as a test.

  40. There is no smell that doesn’t have a cause, that is not curable. Just seek medical advice. Some people live all their life with spouse that have issues worst than yours, they endure it and no one get to know about it. I pity your wife to for a husband someone who sells her up at the least problem. You don’t deserve to be called anyone’s husband. Your are not loyal enough for marriage.
