Comrade Adeshola in an interview with Vanguard also disclosed that the new policy of the Lagos state government under the leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is collaborating with the association to give Bus Conducting profession a new look.

According to him, “presently Lagos state government through the Lagos State Drivers Institute, LASDRI is training and accrediting conductors in the state, adding that after the training the graduands would be employed as Bus Conductors and would be on the payroll of the government with a salary worth of N50,000 per month.

“The objective is to make the job of bus conducting attractive, respected and dignified as obtainable globally”, he said. Adeshola explained that there is a project in the pipeline by the state government to change the face of transportation system to enhance security and also provide employment opportunity in the state.

Speaking on the vision of the association, he said, since the establishment in 2008, it has been working relentlessly with the federal government through the national assembly as well as some state governments to establish its presence.

  2. Going to school during this change is a waste of resources and time.. Better dropout of school and join conductor business than wasting your parents money after everything you still become a conductor.. Lagos state governor.. I dey hall oo.. Well done

  3. Going to school during this change is a waste of resources and time.. Better dropout of school and join conductor business than wasting your parents money after everything you still become a conductor.. Lagos state governor.. I dey hall oo.. Well done

  4. NYSC…..Now Your Struggle Continues……..nyc 2 hear dat…….qualified danfo drivers will soon appear in LAgos wey be say U wey enter no go talk where are going, both d driver and d conductor have d knowledge of where u are going since they go school

  5. What a Change! Any way, most Nigerian graduates living in foreign Countries do chef or waiter works in hotels, eateries, while some are Petrol stations as attendants, mortuary attendants etc. Going to School is still good but now, one has to think of a course of study that will make one to be self reliant.

  6. At all at all na im bad pass!
Abeg kunle u don submit application?

After 5yrs in school nd nysc u go go begin fight with agbero for bus stop hmmmm Ambode Respect urself oo coz its not funny

  7. Hmm! Na wah! They need to clarify us here! BRT buses or this private buses? If BRT, then is a fair deal than having nothing.. At least, from there, one could get a better offer and that will also reduce the insults from those Indian hemp smoking drivers. my take though!

  9. The 50,000 is not the issue. But when I tink of those days in skul, the kind of stress Sumone pass tru, when ur mate are sleeping you are burning candles, you are using your last money to buy handout, struggling to meet up and pay your fee and at the end conductor.what is the essence of the education.conductor job is similar to the job of a tout.my advice to those serving and those waiting for service.if you have a job fetching you at least 30,000 jus exempt yourself or youshud go and learn handwork.keep the effisy asids that you are a graduate kus the nysc itself is wasting of time for gud one year.

  10. OK I get…i will dress corporate then go to Isale eko, bring out my fair head and scream “wole pelu change e ooo!”…hope the same government will set aside HMO for the “employed”? Coz those agbero beating no be here o. The thunder that will strike the idealist is still lifting weight. Idiiiaaaattttssss!

  11. Why then did they go to school? Only to end up as conductors. All d differentiation (dy/dx) and integration, the algebra and sleepless nights wasted. You don’t need a degree to become a conductor na. Abi na EXECUTIVE CONDUCTOR… Chai Naija will you keep quiet?….. APC why? While you send your children to the best schools abroad in a bid to handover to them in the nearest future.. Hmm. This is not fair o.. Dairiz God… L

  12. An idle hand, they say, is devil’s workshop. Critics can say what they like. That’d be another 1000 hands out of the unemployment market. Let it be known that education is a means to an end. It’s not an end in itself.

  14. What an insult, what a shame,we keep on voting for people with shallow ideas.how can a graduate go and be a bus conductor, and the government are proud saying it will be a means of employment.
I rather dropout of school, than after wasting 7precious years and large resources in this Buhari recession process and become a bus conductor after my National Youth Service Corps.what a disgrace Nigeria. Shame on una government.

  15. Some with rat brain instead of commenting on what is being posted have started castigating to the Igbos, tell me which tribe in Nigeria is better than igbos, not even the illiterate Book Haram infested Northerners with brownish kola nut teeth that can’t pronounce or spell their names correctly.

  16. I am not against Bus Conductor recruitment. Afterall somebody has rightly said that Nigerian graduates who reside in foreign lands are doing worse. But the 50k monthly salary is not enough. I dont want believe that that 50k is the minimum wage for level 8 officer in Lagos state. In the spirit of fairness the govt should equate the salary base with that of the state civil servant.

  17. Foolish govt!! Yea go ahead and put Nigeria’s future in jeopardy! Stupid people. But their unqualified sons and daughters are there in AC-cooling offices doing only God knows what with God knows who!!! Honestly our youths should arise and face these evil men before they drive our country to oblivion!!!

  18. i no d person incharge of this employment& d requirement .don,t mind d sun dat will shine u its vitamine p,d rain will strengthen u,d insults 4m comuntains is 2 encourage u,most importantly d bitting u receive 4m agbaros is 4 wisdom, don,t forget d xtra tips u will be making 4urself.repuirement ur nysc discharge cert & 2 passport.

  19. 50,000 naira, hmmmm… even those insulting dis govt here will be d 1st to apply once the employment start, how many lagosians who dress and wear tie evry morning earn 50,000? This is nt d 1st tym it is happening in Nigeria, It is happening in Edo state. U hav 2 knw dat our country is messed up, not until d youths wake up and stop allowing dis politicians run dis country lik they run their family. May God epp naija

  20. 50k… Is still better most bank people Dat are outsourced and get 65k as salary, imagine leaving in okokomaiko and working in V. I… For dis job u will not need transportation, cus d bus go come drop u for house, or better still u work in ur local area…. Jus a suggestion…
I no fit do am Sha… Ambode missed it on dis one, what u should have done is entrepreneurship programs, teach dis young graduate technical, I. T, bussiness and other skills partner with recognized accredited bodies, give dem effective training thereafter grant dem soft loans to start up as their own boss… This will make dem useful, productive and even create employment for deir subordinate….
Conductor work no here O… Especially for Lagos if u do like one week, bleaching cream go b like Vaseline for ur body…

  21. Wait oo, is conductor work even a job? I mean wat exactly is d significance of d job? D job does not contribute anything to d society and a govt v d guts to suggest that, shame to any graduate that will apply for that job.

  22. So is this what our graduates who spent over 20years in the educational line (from crèche right up to university) can be offered??? So can Ambode allow his direct children to this please he should start with his household first as an example before other educated youths who are graduates do such(lead and show by example Mr Governor) 50k means a lot to jobless Nigerians who barely see 500naira in a day but seriously!!! Why not input these graduates in parastatals or companies and still extend such an amount…After all companies are downsizing bcos of salary cost so let them work and learn in such companies and still pay them

  23. Hmmmm… I stand to be corrected but Nigerians with Master degrees go abroad to do jobs like this, drivers, security, street cleaners, even dirty jobs in the hospitals, so what is the problem doing it in your own country? Hmmmm to me it’s still better than stealing and being at home years without getting a kobo! Yes it’s painful but it’s still a way to reduce joblessness if I may say. May God help us all.

    • Toyin Sarah your point now! A driver is a driver, what you can’t do in your country pls why doing it outside your country! Ego and pride is always our problem, so if we don’t do it who will do it for us. My sister it is well.

    • Rose Matthew …. Whaoooo I’m just seeing your post dear, sorry to tell you this you’re such a fool that doesn’t know how to interact on social media! Can you imagine calling someone mumu just like that! Surprisingly you are a graduate it’s so unfortunate the type of graduate our country produce, its really a sorry case. This is a social media in which people express their opinion no need for insult it’s either you comment or just ignore if you’re not okay, everybody cannot have the same opinion on issues. You are even in a relationship I really pity whoever you’re in that relationship with cos you are mannerless. Check my profile well, I’m a responsible working class wife and mother, and I’m well exposed than you to know what I’m saying about the above topic. I wish you well.

    • Liz Timmie hmmmmm Rome is not built in a day lets start from somewhere …. Do you know how many graduates we presently have driving BRT! So many my sister just wondering why all these wahala just because this advert is publicizes.

  24. Lukin at d unemployment in the country, one need to do one or 2 tins to surviv.graduate doin conductor is not dat bad as far as is 4 the main time.at list dey will do it in a defrent way as graduat:p

  25. Do you know that’s an insult. Please cancel schools den. Went to school primary to tertiary for like 16years, went for service 1 year and den I now end up as a bus conductor, not even a driver o. Chai I now reason why boko are killing just to eradicate schools. Kindly refund my school fees from primary to tertiary and let’s see if I won’t start up a wonderful business. Nonsence buhahas.

  26. Well,I believe if this so called development is to be welcome, they should start by example….I.e,they should allow their children to kick it off, provided their children are comfortable with it,then no kwams on the sides of the graduates.

  27. There’s what we call dignity in labour. Why go to school in the first place when one will end up as a conductor. Are there no medium scale business with adequate skill acquisition training programs that the government can introduce to absorb this 1,000 graduates?

  28. What a country… Instead of creating jobs for our graduate youths all over the country, you want them to risk their lives and become conductors abii?
You don’t have conscience ,but I hope your kids start first from oshodi to okokomaiko…even down to surulere and ajegunle sef

  29. So after the money they spent in school..instead of them to get a better job they will end up as bus conducts..from school stress to conductor stress…well make una use am the pass time sha.

  30. I don’t know what y’all are saying.. But they are hundred of graduates who tins are damm bad with.. This is a welcome development….conductor or driver… U can’t expect school drop outs to get Dt job… Whine hundreds of unemployed graduates who failed to get jobs are there…. Our common problem in Nigeria Is our mentality and idiosyncrasy… Let’s take a look at oda countries…Here in Nigeria d mentality Is dat only graduate must sit at the office… OMO ALL HUSTLE NA HUSTLE

  31. Haaaaa naija pls where are we going to. . . For all geography student work don dey for una ooo… At least u did means of transportation now. . But wait oo so someone will ask u that what’s ur profession and u will proudly say…. I’M A BUS CONDUCTOR…… Or you will tell them……. I’M A PROFESSIONAL RAT KILLER…….. LMAO OOO….. LAGOS STATE AND THIS THEIR FUNNY VACANCY STUFFS

  32. Some of u with your first class ,still end up as private school teacher with a salary lower than this. Abeg keep your first class and ur ego is not for u. I’m sure third class and school pass will be glad after all degree na degree.

  33. Hmmmmmm not surprise because some of our leaders don’t understand what education in school is all about, they don’t passed through school in school, all they know is go and buy peppers (certificate) some who claimed they attended school even have parallel F9. Na them suppose come start that conductor job, and those graduate suppose bi for that sit make we see the difference in this country. Na waooo if you are leader in the house and you can’t lead your children you mislead them chaii there is God oo

  34. Ideas like these can only emanate from a government that is lost and short of the needed innovations to fulfill its campaign promises. I clearly recall that the Ogbeni governor in Osun engaged graduates that were given the duty of clearing the bush along major roads in the state. This is not the a answer to unemployment. Let the graduates be empowered to learn a trade and start any small scale business that will further create more opportunities for others…. Or will Ambode’s children be a part of the scheme????? My take though.

  35. Omg!!! Nigeria this is very funny the govt should create jobs instead, employ the youth n allow the old to retire, was wondering is there a retirement age in this country I mean Nigeria? Stop exploiting the youth u graduate n go b a conductor?? All this will end if u guyz make change vote this govt out simple bring in someone who HV ur interest at heart.

  36. Nice one. we have include another course to all institutional existing course which will be named after this proffession # CONDUCTORLOGY# God Bless your ability governor Akinwunmi.

  37. I think we should stop celebrating independence, for every independence brings about backward Nigeria. And d older they get old the more retarded the brain becomes, so what is there to celebrate? #ApcyouneedJesus

  38. I think we should stop celebrating independence, for every independence brings about backward Nigeria. And the older they get the more retarded the brain becomes, so what’s there to celebrate? #Receivesenseijn

  39. Am a graduate just got a job of 27k at Jos electricity company as a marketer but everyday one trouble or the other just on Friday one of my customers tour my cloth because I disconnected her light why because she said before now that she doesn’t need our light not knowing that she has been using the light without bill. So now am thinking of stopping the job. A graduate earning 27k per month

  40. Who ever conceived this hateful idea should be imprisoned. No need to go to school since no qualifications are need to be a bus conductor. Haba lagos state what happened to the state civil service why can’t you retire the those who have served 30 years and above and replace them with 1000 graduates. Na wao daris God. Toh God is watching you

  41. Is there any matter with u been a professional conductor? The earlier u know where u belong, the better for you after all, some people belongs to the kitchen while others in the other room are they not masters degrees holders? Is better u start to apply now first come first serve for you NYSC people. Nigeria is moving to another level. Where illiterate are becoming president while literate are becoming danfo conductor. Yes ooo the ministry is moving.

  42. #50,000 per month seems reasonable, when looking at the way our economy is at the moment. But come on… Graduates as bus conductors? After all the years in the University, graduates will now be reduced to being a bus conductor? We should as well scrap off university education in Nigeria, if our country feels there is not more respectable role in the society for graduates. No disrespect to bus conductors, but a graduate should have no business being a bus conductor!

  43. Many of us fail to realise that no job opportunity in Nigeria…and if federal government unleash this …i believe is a cool idea to stop hidle hand…and I also believe it will be a bus conductor but a classic way …not same old ways…for me I support….many graduate ride okada to survive and feed their families…so if conductor can be introduce and also driver but in a classic way…and there must be a respect for them….not that they will be rubbish by some stupid agbero…in Lagos….and they must be in uniform so as to recognise them and respect them…also as a graduate they should have opportunity in control of transportation in Lagos region and if possible all over Nigeria….pls government act good and calm to our tomorrows leaders….this people are our future….respect them….DJ LIGHTER SAY SOOO

  44. These most painful part is that, you spent 6 years in primary school , another 6 years in secondary school , you graduated .
You finish and gain an admission to study a particular course in university spending 3/4/5/6 years all just because you want to graduate and serve as an NYSC. And at the end of the day there is no job.

The question is “What is the essence of we going to school”???

  45. Hahahaha dat is buhari for nigeria, cos he dnt knw d value of education, graduate will be bus conductors while buhari illiterate will b president, sound so stupid for my liking.
