Though an accomplice, one Ana Fe Sandoval remains at large, the arrest of the suspects came after fraud victim lodged a complaint of being blackmailed by one Agulu Prince, who she met on Tinder in February 2018 and with whom she was supposedly engaged to by August.

The lady who sent more than P50,000 to Sandoval who claimed she was from the US Embassy, for the processing of her fiancée visa and other fees, felt she was falling for an online scam after she went to Ninoy Aquino International Airport last December to fetch Agulu Prince with her family, but that she was told by a self-described Customs employee that he had been held at the Cebu airport for carrying $800,000 into the country.

Agulu Prince reportedly threatened to leak her nude photos, after she refused to send P25,000 they asked for through a money remittance service. She eventually sent P10,000 to Sandoval, but reported to the NBI after Agulu made same threat again. Pascual who allegedly claimed the money sent by the complainant was first arrested, and led investigators to arrest Agulu at Las Piñas where they were supposed to meet.

The mobile phone where the complainant’s nude photos were stored was recovered, and the suspects have now been slammed with charges of swindling and robbery extortion in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and for violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009
