Nigerians have reacted with contempt as a 43-year-old man emerged the new president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
The man identified as Mr. Sunday Dare Asefon is reportedly a postgraduate diploma (PGD) student of the Ekiti State University (EKSU), in Ado-Ekiti.
It is alleged that he is the chosen candidate of the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, who reportedly sponsored his campaign with N40 million.
The president-elect polled 155 voted in the electoral contest ahead of Momodu, 11 votes; Champion, 2 votes; Alopay, 7 votes and Ladoja, 100 votes.
His victory has been trailed with mixed reactions on social media, with the vast majority questioning why a 43-year-old should be the NANS president.

A 43 year old has become the new NANS President, someone that is almost twice my age, and he was elected by an assemblage of people within the youth bracket. I don’t think the solution to this country’s problems comes with age.
This our country nah pure joke…
Imagine a 43 year old Sunday Asefon was voted in as the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
Emmanuel Macron at 40 became the President of France, this one is here fighting his children for NANS leadership. Tueh
