CCTV exposes lady who stole her friend’s birthday cake and drinks after she denied it (video)

A woman has called out her friend who attended her birthday, accusing her of stealing her cake and wine when leaving.

Twitter user, @giivensibekwe, celebrated her birthday on April 3, 2021, and invited friends over for her party in Port Harcourt.

She said she stepped out by 5am this morning, April 4, to make a delivery and when she returned home by 11, she saw that her birthday cake was missing and so were bottles of Monkey Shoulder, Jameson, and Champagne.

She explained that she called her friend, Reni, who slept over at her house after the party, and asked if she took the cake and bottles of wine but she denied it.

At this point, she said she started accusing the apartment staff, so they took her to view the apartment’s CCTV footage. The celebrant claims the CCTV footage showed her friend, Reni, leaving with the cake and wine.

She shared still shots from the CCTV on Twitter, then tagged her friend and called her out for “theft”

The friend appeared unfazed by the public criticism and took to Twitter to write: “I like that I’ve already had wine and ouid before coming to this tl.”

Twitter users replied to her tweet, calling her out for stealing from her friend.

“I’ll rather quit medicine than abandon shoe-making” – Student

22-year-old Adeosun Goodness Taiye was born in Borno, North East Nigeria, but she is an indigene of Ogun State. Her mother is Igbo from Abia. The 400-level Dentistry student of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, is the Creative Director of Gudie Designs, specializing in making shoes and all kinds of footwears.

What she started as a pastime has transformed into a business entity which she hopes to grow to become a global brand, notwithstanding her busy schedule as a medical student.

How did you start making footwears as a medical student?

I basically started making foot wears in 2018 but before then after my Cambridge A levels, I came back home and was a bit quite bored on what to do. So I was just involved in other creative activities like crocheting, bead making and I got to realize that my cousins were coming over to Nigeria to pay us a visit and I wanted to give them something.

So, Being fascinated so much with creative activities and creative works, I felt that’s what I should give them and they would appreciate it because they have better things over there so no matter how much I spent in getting them something, they might not really appreciate it.

So, I went into the market to get some threads so I could crochet shoes for them to wear. It was after I did that people really loved the work and my friends and family told me to make for them. That was how I went into it. By the time I resumed school at UI, in 200 level, some of my classmates and roommates really loved the work and they told me to make for them too, and that was how I started selling.

Did you actually learn it somewhere or how did you start?

I started crocheting foot wears in 2017. There was this shoe maker beside my house so I went to meet him and I asked him how much I would pay him to couple this up for me because I just crocheted a top for it, what they use in place of leather, and so I gave it to him and he said he wasn’t going to do it, that I should do it myself.

He just told me the materials I should buy in the market. That was how I went to the market and within three days, I was done making my shoes.

Not that you started as an apprentice somewhere?

From there, I started crocheting; I would meet him and he would assist me till I came down to Ibadan and I met some other shoe makers that I could borrow their equipment since I didn’t have mine.

So whenever I met them, I also watched what they were doing, and that was how I learnt and again I learnt from the internet. It was until last year I had to pay for a particular course on how to make some of those Italian shoes so that was it.

On what platform was that?

I came across it on Facebook and I just paid for it to see some of the books and I was sent some videos. I had to still go very far to check for some other materials on how to make some things. Throughout last year, I was just learning a lot about shoe-making because I really didn’t know so much; I was just with the normal Nigerian mentality so I had to really go deep in learning the theories of leather, types of leather, stitches in shoes and all that.

Would you say you have attained some level of perfection now?

I can say yes. Honestly because the person that I employed to work with me, has been in shoe-making for at least 25-27 years and still he hasn’t acquired all the basic knowledge in shoe-making. He just knows more of the practical aspect in shoe-making so I have to be the one to say this is the standard way they make this etc.

You employed him and you pay him on a monthly basis?

Yes, I pay him on a monthly basis. I had to do that because I am a medical student and it is not so easy for me. It is very strenuous this time; I have to crochet, probably spend three hours crocheting, then go back to the shop to make the shoes. It wasn’t easy so I had to get people to help me.

I hope that is not affecting your study?

No. Not really. I am very pretty good at multitasking; even when the orders are so much. I remember there was a particular week I was in a surgery post; that is one of the very strenuous postings in medical school. I was rotating through that posting and within a week, I had about 40 orders. That was when one of my tweets went viral and so people were bringing orders. I had to carry one of my crocheting pins to the ward. So anytime I notice there is nothing going on, I would carry the pin and start crocheting randomly but actually it is very strenuous.

Where do you hope to take this shoe-making venture to? As a medical student, are you thinking of abandoning it when you finish your medical programme and qualify as a Medical Doctor?

Cuts in: I will probably abandon the medical school and pursue shoe-making because it will bring more money compared to the stipend they pay Doctors in Nigeria. I just want to have the certificate, honestly speaking. I would have just left it but I feel people will respect you more when you have a certificate. I don’t think my secondary school certificate is enough and again still may actually not be there 24 hours making the shoes; people may help me. So I may be bored and I need something to do. I may be practising medicine but the brand is still there.

What is your plan with growing the brand?

My aim really, I started with crocheting. When we were small, my mum had this complaint that she would buy shoes and would just get spoilt in a short time. So she had to always go for those UK-American used shoes because she felt they were of good quality and durable. So by the time I started making the shoes, I was like ‘I need to help my mum so that she won’t be complaining of shoes like this’ and that’s why I had to pay enough attention to the quality and the good thing is the crocheting part of it which I use the nylon thread to crochet. It’s more like a synthetic material, it’s something that can’t wear or tear out easily unlike leather that peels easily. This is something that is more like a fox material whereby it doesn’t wear out easily; it tends to be very durable and again the tensile strength of the thread I use is very high.  I don’t know how I got that idea of, ‘let me buy that shoemaker thread they normally use to stitch the shoes together’ and it has been very durable. Most of my shoes, I can use them on water. I won’t be scared of it because I know it’s going to last and again, it absorbs so much gum; it is very friendly with gum compared to leather. I have never got a complaint that, ‘oh it pulled out’ neither do I have it cut.

Since you started your footwear design, will you say it has given you some financial independence?

I told you it’s because I just need the certificate. If they should just give me, I will receive it and leave school. I just needed one because honestly speaking, the return is very pretty much…. and people get surprised when I tell them that people working with me are not receiving less than 50k and they will be like how is that possible? I get pretty much gain from it. It’s helping me financially. I stay on my own. I had to leave my parents, probably they just pay my school fees which I feel is their responsibility.

Like in a month when the business is good, how much do you make?

It depends; on average, I don’t make less than N200, 000. Sometimes it gets up to N300,000 in a month and I have to keep on investing. The money is coming; the money is going into the same business, trying to get this, trying to get that. I want to get to that stability level. So I have to just keep on investing.

So probably your medicine is what is pushing you back?

Yes, it is delaying me from putting in so much time. That was why I was happy with the coronavirus; with the virtual classes, and I don’t have to go to class.

What were you doing during the coronavirus lockdown?

Still the shoes; I was actually at Lokoja then because my parents had to call me back so I was making the shoes but not there; the shop was here.

Like how many people do you have working for you?

There’s one. There are actually two ladies who work on contract, if I have anything, they would just come and crochet. There are three others who are just apprentices.

Based on your orientation, what is your advice for your peers that are still in schools and probably hoping to get white collar jobs when they graduate?

I find it difficult to advise people because I don’t know if they are really mentally and emotionally strong to stand the stresses and the hurdles of business because it can be very depressing but I will still say that whatever your hand finds to do, do it well. It could be in the tech aspect. If you have a purpose, I don’t think anything happening within your surroundings would actually influence you.

What do you think the government can do to promote entrepreneurship?

A lot; I will start with the exchange rate; it is very high and it has affected me personally in getting some things outside the country and also getting my materials. Within last year to this year, things have really spiked up so high and customers would ask you, ‘why is it so high’ and they are expecting you to reduce the price but they won’t understand the materials are very high. And for you to get good quality materials, you have to look outside the country and you have to use dollars.

“Three weeks to our wedding, I feel like calling it off after sleeping with her sister”

As shared by an embattled gentleman who’s facing the dilemma of going through with his wedding in three weeks after he slept with his bride’s sister.

Read below,

With all due respect, I have changed names and some too familiar details about myself out of respect for my wife to be. I know she likes to catch cruise on nairaland.

My name is Friday (of course not my real name) I am from the middle-belt. So please save your tribalism with all those una Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa insults. I met Grace(my wife to be) few years ago. It was love at 1st sight. She was everything and is still everything I had hoped a woman should be. There is this crass about her that makes her effortlessly better than any lady around her. My type in the true sense of the word. Tall, busty, curvy, sassy, elegant, personable and above all, she has a graceful soul. From the 1st date to this day, I still pinch my self like.. What in God’s green earth is a beauty like her doing with a shrek like me.

But then, true perfection is always a utopia. Grace in all her graceful demeanour and aura, has a flaw; Indecision! More so, blind trust seems to be her albatross. (I swear she can even take Lai Muhammad’s word to the bank) Though, I still love her; flaws and all. Her complete or should I say blind trust for me and Abigail became one of the reasons Abigail(her younger sister) has become an unending chapter in our relationship. Even though the blame of what happened squarely falls on me.

Abigail just shy off 20, is too savvy for her age. Not the outright outstanding beauty like my Grace. What ever little she lacks in beauty, she more than makes up for it in her mentality. For she is truly a smart and an intelligent girl. Just five years younger than Grace. One who expect them at least to be close and be like Asaba and Onisha but then…they are the direct opposite of each other. While Grace is the introverted shy person, Abigail is quite the extrovert and likes to make friends for Africa. It is only fair to believe their formative time in secondary school played a part in their output towards life. Grace likes to conform like most day school students. Abigail on the other hand, is the boarding school nightmare all parents hope not to experience: the deviant.

Through the 1st years we dated, Abigail was in secondary school and was never in the picture. For some odd or strange reason, Grace was not ready to fully commit. Not that I blame her or something. At 23, Most girls her age are like Alice in wonderland; they crush on celebrities and Chase childhood dreams and fantasies. The vile ones, if truth be told…tend to live out their hoė phase. At 28, I was already grounded to know what I wanted and it was Grace and marriage. Sometimes, you do all you can do but then life has a way of throwing in a curveball. More over, “No be say because I wan chop egg I go begin dey worship chicken.” Sensing her shakara, I pulled the hand brakes on us and walked out of the relationship.

***2 years later***
Fortunately or unfortunately after letting go, Grace became incensed and started to want me back. I hardly do any social media at this point. Pride won’t let her call me, so there was no way to send coded messages on whatsapp status to me. Being the introvert that she is and the all trusting graceful Grace, she started to send Abigil over to my place to bridge the gap. In just over two years, Abigail had changed and developed into a sexy hippie bohemian. Not that I fancy her in any erotic way or something. It’s just that in our contemporary naija society where mostly everyone conforms, it is hard not to notice a bohemian.

Knowing I would do no better than Grace even with a million dollars and in a hundred years of searching, I mended fences with Grace and our relationship became stronger than ever. Over time, Abigail became a bridge between us. At first, Grace would send her over to run errands for her. After a while, it became a second nature for her to come over and fidget with my electronics. Courtesy demands you be nice to your in-laws to be and so I was nice to Abigail.

Abigail’s posturing over time made it difficult for me to say no to her especially during them Nengi and Laycon days in the house. She was a fan of big brother lockdown. And would always ask for my keys to watch the silly show for she was equally as silly to be gushing over that vanity fair. Grace seems not have any issues with her coming over and I also did not for I was hardly home and God knows the sub was kinda wasting away.

There are some things in life that are not planned. They just happen! My boss at work then tested positive for Covid and we were all asked to quarantine at home. Grace still had to go to work while Abigail was always free because of the ASSU strike. Suddenly, I started to be alone with Abigail. She would come over “for big brother” around 9am and leave around 7pm in time to beat her curfew at home. It was awkward staying all day with Abigail. Grace too predictable, only comes over on Sunday. For some strange reasons, on Sundays, Abigail will never show up.

There were times, and I am sure it could just be my imagination, that she enjoyed teasing me. She would come dressed like a sister Mary Amaka from home but after a while, she would take her bath and transform into a Kardashian. Wearing skimpy cloths and heavy make-up. I tried to give her her space. I was in quarantine and therefore, had practically no where to go. I am basically the type that don’t flock with co-workers and I hardly keep any friends except for Grace. I am not one to be neighbourly with my neighbours so I was stuck with Abigail all day. Humans are social animals and we tend to gravitate towards each other especially when we are alone with someone. Gradually, she won me over and I started to watch the big brother show with her. While she was rooting for Nengi after her Erica left, I was simply for Neo for he had my height. And the bond between us grew. God knows I had no vile motives and evil intentions. It is hard not to enjoy Abigail’s company for she is a smart, gleeful and witty girl. While I do all the talking with Grace, Abigail on the other hand does all the talking with me and it was a welcome change.

*** D Day ***
It became obvious Abigail was not telling the truth at home. She would pick their calls and tell them she was in her female friend’s house. And in the spirit of our new found big brother bond. We kept the secret. On this faithful day, it had rained all day and Nepa had struck and the plug in my generator was no good. The rain had brought with it a cool breeze and some magical thunder. Seemingly, we could not watch our show so I took a blanket because of the cold and buried my attention on my PC (laptop) re-watching season 5 of the game of thrones.

Naively, Abigail joined me and entered the blanket with me. I use the word ‘naive’ because I honestly do not want to qualify her as a minx. And I know she does not see me as a Justine Bieber of a crystal ball for her to be drooling at. While in that warm blanket watching the movies in such compromising position, One thing led to another and alot of that one thing opened up her Pandora’s box and I… I ate the most forbidden fruit there ever was. There is no telling how wonderful making love to her was at the heat of the moment and there’s no shame in the world that equates to the shame that immediately dwell and still dwells in my soul shortly after even to this day. There’s a lot to blame our mistake and betrayal on. Could it just be the moment? the weather? the chemistry? the devil? (laughs) my opportunistic habit? Her feminine warmth in such close proximity? my placing a hand on her thigh and meeting no resistance? My foggy mind and grown erection? Her racing and panting heart? Her feisty zeal and deviant nature? My libido? Hers? My morals? Buhari? Herdsmen? IPOB? Sunday Igbahor? Dstv and big brother? NEPA? Game of thrones? Was she after all really a minx? In all fairness, she is just a little naive girl that does not deserve to be pilloried for my betrayal. As the adult, I should have known better and acted a lot better.

Climbing down from our lustful climax, we both knew immediately what we had done, the gravity and the implications it could have on not just us, but grace and the whole family. In the most contrite way possible, we apologized to ourselves and vowed never to repeat it again. We felt it would be better not to tell Grace or anyone and we agreed Abigail would stop coming over. I started to avoid Abigail at all cost. I did not just release cum after my despicable act with Abigail, I released every thing good in me and every form of happiness. I felt much less of a man and wished I had died as a child or better still was aborted.

I hardly could face Grace after. The more I try to ghost her, the more she held on tightly. It became awkward visiting their family house for I was not comfortable around them trusting and accepting me. Not for the fear that they would find out…just my conscience eating me up. I stayed away and made peace with my gross mistake. For over six to seven months. I did my penance and nothing happened with Abigail. I know I am in a better place now to make sane decisions about cheating. To give something back to Grace, I have vowed never to sleep with anyone till die. We know how cheating amongst married men is common these days. I no call Adekule Gold name oh!

Me and Grace are set to marry on the 17th of this April. The thing is…Abigail is her chief bridesmaid and preparation demands I see her most times. She still has a look in her eyes…dunno what to make of it. A look of blackmail? Of you could still hit it if you want? We have unfinished business kinda look? You should be paying a bride price for two look? I die inside every time I see Grace happy she again got us back to talking terms because of the wedding. Ignorance is truly bliss.

I have doubts going through with this wedding. Folks may laugh and say I chickened out because of the inflation and money, others might blame Grace. It may ruin Grace for ever. How do I do this knowing Abigail will always be family?

“If s.3x is all that you have to offer then keep it to yourself” – Actress, Lilian Afegbai tells prospective suitors

Nollywood actress, Lilian Afegbai has taken to her IG page to warn men who are interested in her not to come close to her if they will not be adding value to her life.

According to the actress, sex is overrated and if that is all men have to offer, they should keep it to themselves. She wrote,

Don’t come around me, if you don’t have your shit together, if I wasn’t looking good and working hard to take care of myself. You won’t want me, so if you are not coming to add value to my life and career. Take several seats, s*x is overrated.
If that’s all you have to offer then keep it to yourself. We are getting older and wiser women are doing so much more that sometimes I tell myself “You can do better” so don’t come to my space if you not going to add value….

A while back, she lambasted men who are comfortable with women paying their bills.

In a post shared on Instagram story, she described men who take advantages of financially buoyant ladies and later settle down with ladies of their class as a “vegetable”.

Her post read,

“I can never understand a woman that pays a man’s bill. It’s different if you guys are married and things go bad where you have to step in and help till he get back on his feet.

“But paying his rent and all, men have pride they will carry your money and give to that girl who would respect and appreciate them for the little they do… A man who’s comfortable with a woman paying his bills is a vegetable”.

“No matter how much you think a woman has, as a man you should take care of her no matter how little you can afford. That’s you keeping your pride”.

Nigerian lady shares how a man called her “prostitute” then apologized after seeing her wedding ring (Video)

A young lady took to her Twitter page to share an encounter she had with a random man who chose to insult her by labelling her a “prostitute” and “whore” only to apologize after spotting a wedding band on her finger.

The lady, with handle, @yewandeosamein, shared that she was in her car when a man approached her for not parking in the right spot.

Yewande shared that it broke her heart when the man called her a “whore and prostitute” before finally apologizing after seeing her wedding ring.

Sharing a video from their confrontation, Yewande wrote,

“To every man saying women are respected regardless of their marital status. I’d just like to say a man RANDOMLY called me a whore and a prostitute & told me I’m dirty a few days ago…then he apologised when he saw my wedding band. I sat in my car and cried for a bit.

So I was on a film set. I was waiting around in my car and decided to open my door, turn off my engine and come down. This guy pulls up to the car and starts screaming “CLOSE YOUR FUCKING DOOR”. Obviously I’m not going to waste my energy, so I gave him the side eye and ignored,” she wrote.

Lady with disability shares her sad experience as she thanks God for blessing her with a man

A lady who is with incomplete fingers has shared online, her experience and how she lost men who wanted to date her, after they found out about her disability.

According to the lady, she now has a new man and while showing him off, she praised God for giving him to her after all the challenges she went through.

She wrote;

“I remember when I was 13 years old, I was with a church member and we happened to watch a Nigerian movie together. In the movie was a lady challenged in her right leg and because of her disability, she was called ‘Nna ga nu’ which means no man but your father will marry you. The next voice I head was brother xyz’s voice telling me that this is what will happen to me. I smiled at him, went home and cried.

Fast forward to me getting to the university, every guy wanted to talk to me because I am attractive and more. But when they found out I had missing fingers, they would run as far as their legs would help them. I was vulnerable to love that when anyone poses to be real, I accepted irrespective of if he was the right guy. I got abused emotionally, physically and mentally but at the end I survived.

I decided to put everything to God in prayer. I went into a covenant with my creator, I challenged him with his words and told him people will laugh at him if he fails. God listened! Two years ago, he gave me gift and said how I use it will bring forth what I asked for.”

“How I got married to my ex-wife at 20 and divorced her at 22” – Don Jazzy spills

Nigerian singer, Don Jazzy has disclosed how he got married to his bestfriend at 20years old and got divorced at 22.

In a recent post on Instagram, Don Jazzy narrated his story of how he married Michelle at 20, and divorced at 22 due to his addiction to music.

He wrote;

“For so long everyone keeps asking me when am I getting married? Well truth is almost 18 years ago I was 20 and I got married to my best friend Michelle @yarnstaswitch and it was beautiful. I loved love and I loved marriage. Michelle is soooo beautiful inside and outside with such a soft heart. But then me being so young and full of dreams I went and fucked it up cos I was giving all my time to my Music.

Music became priority instead of my family. We got divorced when I was 22 and it hurt. I am still very much in love with my music and I wouldn’t want to marry another and fuck it up again. So I’m taking my time. Why am I just saying this now?? I really like to keep my relationships private actually. Past or present. But I was watching the bounce interview with Ebuka which is almost like a tell all interview, and I felt bad skipping this huge part of my life. So yeah make una no vex o.”
