Big Brother Naija star, Erica Nlewedim has replied a troll who called her a tactical beggar who started her career with GoFundMe.

The troll identified as fineboytunde on Twitter, took to the platform to drag the reality star, tagging her a beggar who started her career with GoFundMe.

The actress who wasn’t having any of it replied the troll, noting that her career started in 2015, long before the Big Brother Naija reality TV show.

In her words,

“The ignorance! First of all I started my acting career 2015, google me. Secondly, even a dumb person knows I had no access to my phone when the go fund me was set up, Celebrities get gifts all the time and mine won’t stop, ask yourself why you’re not rated enough to be gifted any”.

Recall that following Erica’s disqualification from the Big Brother house, her fans started a fundraising campaign for her on a popular crowdfunding platform, GoFundMe, and in less than 3 hours after the launch of the campaign, more than $9,000 was raised.

They set a target of $100,000 in order for Erica to finance her hopes and aspirations, as she lost all her winnings in the reality show following her disqualification.

Man found dead in his car in Lagos (photos)

A yet-to-be-identified man was found dead in his car along the CMD Magodo road in Lagos state on Friday, January 22nd.

According to a statement from the Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Authority LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the unidentified young man “slumped at wheel”.

The statement reads,

“The agency received an emergency call and when the staff arrived at the scene, they found a lone driver who had apparently “slumped at the wheel.” The vital signs of the man was checked and he was confirmed dead.

“The @followlasema paramedic team responded to a distress call and upon arrival met a lone driver who had apparently slumped at the wheel. The patient’s vital signs were checked, pulse was absent, pupils were fixed and dilated, patient was dead already.

“Victim’s relatives who were already present on scene agreed to transport him to the nearest morgue. The agency paramedics and the @PoliceNG were on the scene. The vehicle has been moved from the thoroughfare.”

A Nigerian marriage and relationship counselor simply known as Osagie, has taken to Twitter to state that women are meant to be the ones to kneel down when they are being engaged by the men in their life.

Making his opinion known via the account @Osagiemerry, he shared a viral photo of a lady who went on her knees as her boyfriend put a ring on her finger, and according to Osagie, it is how an engagement should be.

The medical director also wondered who invented the concept of men going on their knees when proposing to their girlfriends.

Don Davis’ mother, Deborah Okezie has taken to her social media page to blast Apostle Johnson Suleman after he accused her of blackmailing former presidential spokesperson, Reno Omokri with her claim of him calling and asking her to apologize to Pastor W.F Kumuyi on pages of newspapers for going public with the abuses her son faced in a Deeper Life Secondary School he owns.

Recall Reno Omokri had pledged to give Mrs Okezie N100 Million if she could prove that he called her and Deborah stated that he should stop insulting her with the amount. She added that she can account for the little she has and further asked if he could do so.

However reacting to this, popular clergyman, Apostle Suleman insinuated that she was blackmailing Reno Omokri. He affirmed that the former presidential spokesperson will never behave like that and further stated that adding lies to an incident is evil.

Deborah then fired back at the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International saying he should never call her a liar and insisted that she got a phone call from Mr. Omokri.

Big Brother Naija 2019 winner, Mercy Eke, recently fell victim to a scammer who posed as a bank staff.

Mercy disclosed this via an Instagram live session yesterday as she stated that the fraudster posed as her banker to get access to her funds.

The reality star also said that she hopes the bank is able to work out a reversal on the funds and suggested that banks should stop calling their customers.

Mercy did not disclose the specific amount she was scammed off but she warned her fans to be careful so they don’t fall victim.

A video of popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham exchanging words with some “area boys” while on a movie set has stirred reactions online.

In the viral video, the mother of one and her crew members were on the set of a movie, when a group of area boys confronted them, demanding money from them before they can shoot at the location.

Controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has warned popular Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky to be careful of his activities on Instagram.

According to the journalist, the internet sensation is on Instagram’s backlist and might be sanctioned if he continues shading his colleague, James Brown on the photo sharing app.

Recall that the crossdressers made headlines days ago, after James Brown called out his former boss over threats to his life, which was followed by an apology after the video went viral.

Kaduna government sacks 65 ‘illegally recruited teachers’

The Kaduna state government terminated the employment of 65 teachers who were said to be “illegally” recruited.

According to the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Mr. Tandat Katuma who confirmed the sack on Friday January 22nd, the teachers were recruited illegally in Sanga Local Government Area of the state. Katuma served as the secretary of the investigation committee.

The council chairman, Charles Danladi who also confirmed the sack, revealed that the anomaly was detected through the over-bloated wage bill of the teachers which kept increasing every month without new employment.

Danladi said after he raised the alarm during the state’s Joint Account Committee Meeting which was chaired by the deputy governor, SUBEB was asked to launch an investigation.

It was gathered that the SUBEB officials involved in the illegal recruitment exercise had been sanctioned.

Femi Adesina Explains Why The Pigeons Refused To Fly On Armed Forces Remembrance Day After They Were Released By President Buhari

Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, has given an explanation to why the white pigeons’ President Buhari released during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in Abuja last week failed to fly.

Recall that President Buhari trended last week on social media after the pigeons refused to fly despite several attempts by the President . Many Nigerians on social media described the incident as a “bad omen”. Some even said the pigeons refused to fly because they weren’t sure of their safety outside the cage.

In an article titled ‘Reflection from a wreath-laying ceremony,’ Adesina described the pigeons’ refusal to fly as “a natural phenomenon”.

His article in part reads;

“Now, something for those who twist my every word, turn it upside down, to generate hatred. Something for them to wail about. The release of the pigeons.

At every Armed Forces Remembrance Day, after the laying of the wreaths, the sitting President releases some pigeons, to symbolise peace in the land. Emblems of National harmony. It was not different last Friday.

And when birds and some other roaming animals have been circumscribed for a while, they get accustomed to their new status as lawful captives. Someone will have big stomach, they must be pregnant. Where did this bad behavior come from?

I remember I wrote a post last year about my feelings and problems people close to me were dealing with and humans read it as I was depressed. Some even offered me money thinking I was broke. What is this type of thinking? Who is doing you people?

I don’t have the answers but I hope everyone can find happiness. The world around us doesn’t seem to be getting better so you must create happiness for yourself.

I would love to be a sounding board for anyone that wants to get things off their chest. My DM is open but you have to be very direct and specific. Saying “Hi” will not get you a response. Ilorin driver sentenced to two years imprisonment for spending N2million that was mistakenly transferred into his account

A 45-year-old driver, Adetunji Tunde Oluwasegun, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment for spending a sum N2million that was erroneously transferred into his account.

The Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on Monday, January 18, 2021 arraigned Oluwasegun on a one-count charge bordering on stealing before Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin.

The offence contravenes Section 286 and punishable under Section 287 of the Penal Code.

The charge reads:

“That you, Adetunji Tunde Oluwasegun, sometime between the month of July, 2020 and 21st of August, 2020 at Ilorin, Kwara State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly took the sum of N2,000,000.00 (Two Million Naira), property of Sherifat Omolara Sanni, which she erroneously transferred to your bank account 0008383333 domiciled with Guaranty Trust Bank plc, without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 286 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 287 of the same Penal Code”.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.

Justice Oyinloye found Oluwasegun guilty of the offence and sentenced him to two years imprisonment with a fine of N200, 000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira).

The judge also ordered the convict to repay to the victim the sum of N2million before he finished serving his jail term.

In 2017, the budding singer and a fan took to Twitter to debate about how talking to a lady in the DM is not the same as actually getting to meet them.

The former Mr Nigeria joined in on the conversation, unknown to him, it is an old interaction.

According to Prince, it is always fun at first until the exchange with a lady in the DM gets leaked to the timeline and been laughed at.
