A Nigerian man known on Twitter as Duke of Africa, has advised his fellow countrymen to follow in his footsteps and travel out of the country.

According to the man who relocated to Charleston, Illinois in the United States of America, Nigerians need to go to where their worth will be appreciated.

Duke of Africa with the handle @Allezamani, shared photos of himself at a coffee shop in Charleston, taking home his order and said that he has left Nigerians for others back home.

He wrote;

Comedian, Woli Arole, has some words of advice for his followers and it concerns sexual purity.

According to the thespian, sex before marriage is a sin even if an intending couple uses a condom.

Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), has warned Nigerians to take the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) seriously.

The clergyman stated this during the inauguration of the remodeled foyer of the University of Lagos’ Senate Building on Monday, January 4.

Olukoya said many Nigerians still don’t believe that the infectious virus was real. He added that as a microbiologist, he was certain that the virus is real and should not be joked with.

He further urged the government to mount an awareness campaign to convince Nigerians that the virus is real.

He said,

“The first thing is to convince the populace that it is real because some people don’t believe it exists. But I am a man of God and I have prayed for so many people with the same infirmity and I know that it exists. So, we should not joke with it. People should obey all the rules. And most importantly, we should pray that this pandemic will go away”.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Univerity, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, thanked Olukoya for being a worthy alumnus of the university.

Ogundipe stated that Olukoya had donated a research laboratory to the university and obliged his request for support to remodel the foyer last year.

“Today, we have our father in the Lord, an alumnus of the university donating this. Last year, I mentioned it to him and he said consider it done,” he said.

Popular Nollywood actress, Elvina Ibru has taken to social media to reveal that she tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, she urged Nigerians to take precautionary measures, as she emphasizes that the virus is real.

Elvina stated that she was extremely careful, avoided gatherings but still tested positive for the virus.

Portuguese woman dies two days after getting the Pfizer COVID vaccine as her father demands answers

A Portuguese woman, identified as Sonia Acevedo, has died two days after getting the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine.

The 41-year-old, who worked in paediatrics at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology in Porto, was vaccinated on December 30 and suffered a ‘sudden death’ at home on New Year’s Day.

Ms. Acevedo didn’t suffer any adverse side-effects after being vaccinated. Her daughter, Vania Figueredo, however stated that her mum had only complained about the ‘normal’ discomfort in the area where she was jabbed but was otherwise fine.

The deceased’s heartbroken father, Abilio Acevedo told Portuguese daily Correio da Manha that he got notified that his daughter had been found dead around 11am on Jan 1, hours after they were together on New Years Eve.

He further added,

‘My daughter left home and I never saw her alive again.’

‘She was okay. She hadn’t had any health problems. She had the Covid-19 vaccine but she didn’t have any symptoms. I don’t know what happened. I just want answers.;

‘I want to know what led to my daughter’s death.’

An autopsy is expected to be carried out this week.

Man beheads, gouges out neighbour’s eyes for money ritual in Bauchi

A 22-year-old man identified as Musa Hamza has been arrested for allegedly beheading and gouging out his neighbour’s eyes.

It was alleged that Hamza lured his neighbour, Adamu Ibrahim, into the outskirt of the village forest and killed him with a stick.

Hamza is said to have beheaded the head from Ibrahim’s body, forcefully gouged out his two eyes and burnt his body.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, January 4th, 2021.

In his words,

“Musa Hamza lured Adamu Ibrahim, of the same address, into the outskirt of the village forest and killed him with a stick. He beheaded the head from the body, forcefully gouged out the two eyes, burnt the body/head and buried them separately in a shallow grave located in the nearby bush.

“During investigation, all the buried human parts were exhumed and taken to General Hospital Alkaleri for medical examination where the medical doctor certified the corpse death.”

Upon interrogation, the two eyes were recovered from the principal suspect, who voluntarily confessed to have committed the crime and was asked by a ritualist to bring the eyes for ritual to enable him to be rich.

Investigation is on-going after which suspects will be charged to court for prosecution and possible conviction.

A 23-year-old lady, identified as Jumoke Kehinde, said to be a staff of Shoprite in Akure, Ondo state capital, has reportedly committed suicide after being suspended from work.

She was reportedly found dead on New Year’s eve at her apartment in Kajola area along Oda-road, Akure, after allegedly drinking Sniper.

It was gathered that Jumoke was suspended and asked to return home after reporting late to work on that fateful day.

A source speaking with the Nation said,

“It is normal that anyone who comes late should wait outside before they are allowed in and be given a suspension.

She was seen arranging her table getting ready for the day’s sales as she looked happy but later left the mall at about 11 am after receiving the suspension letter.

At about 4 pm, a distress call was received in the office that she was not feeling fine. One of the management staff went to check on her. Kehinde was found on the floor of her room shaking while her body was oozing with odour of the poison she took. Although, no empty can was found anywhere as she was rushed to the hospital.

After some time at the hospital, she was declared dead. One of her relatives said she did not show any sign of depression.

She was given a suspension for coming late that day. She was told to go home. After then she went back home.

We all know that when you come late you will be given a suspension for a few days without payment.

I don’t see any reason why such an issue would cause her to kill herself by committing suicide.”

A police source said her body has been deposited in the state hospital morgue, however efforts to reach the deceased’s family members and the Management of the shopping mall has been futile.

A Nigerian man identified as Chijioke Eruchalu is celebrating as he joins the league of car owners in the country.

The man who appeared to have gotten tired of trekking long distances and entering tricycles commonly known as Keke, took to the micro-blogging site to announce the purchase of his first car, a Toyota Camry.

According to Chijioke, he had decided that he would no longer use ‘legediz benz or Keke’ in the year 2021.

Popular HipHop rapper, Cardi B was spotted in a video recently grooving to her hit song, WAP when her two year old daughter, Kulture walked in on her and after seeing the kid, immediately put a stop to the song.

A young man has shared a testimony of how he was ”pronounced dead” some years ago but is now healthy and living life to the fullest.

The man took to his Twitter pag on Jan 4 to celebrate the anniversary of the day he came back to life after being “pronounced dead”.

Papi Genco was sick for months. He shared a photo taken in July 2014 where he was looking emaciated due to his illness.

Man bags first class, breaks 39-year-old jinx in IMSU department

A young Nigerian man has made history in his alma mater after breaking a 39-year-old record that had existed in the department he studied at the Imo state University, IMSU.

Mbagwu Johnpaul Chiagoziem earned a 4.51 in a 5.0 grading system to emerge the first student ever to graduate with a first class in industrial physics at the educational institution.

The graduate, in a statement addressed to the University’s 17th Republic Students’ Union Director of Information and Media Comr. Duru Victor, said he was motivated to study to bag a first class because his course mates and senior colleagues always told him that it had never been done before.

He said:

“… My coursemates and senior colleagues do say [then] no one can graduate with first class. I told them I’m a different person, that I will graduate with that [first class] by God’s grace.”

Mbagwu also thanked one of his lecturers identified as Prof. T. C. Chineke who, according to him, was pivotal to his academic success.

According to him, his usual responses to his favourite lecturer’s challenge of graduating with a first class was “Prof, by God’s grace I will break the record in this department.”

Though the industrial physicist concluded his studies in 2019, he however got receipt of the certificate in 2020.

Mbagwu also has an impressive 10 research papers to his credit.

Ogun police arrests three brothers for allegedly killing a Security guard on Christmas eve

Men of the Ogun Police Command have apprehended three brothers identified as Okiki Mulero (23), Micheal Mulero (21), and Joseph Mulero (17) for beating a So-Safe corps officer who was on guard duty at OGD Estate, Asero to death on the eve of Christmas.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, states that trouble started when one of the suspects Okiki Mulero, who is a commercial cyclist was denied entrance into the estate for carrying more than one passenger contrary to the rule of the estate.

Oyeyemi stated that this infuriated him and he called his two brothers, Micheal and Joseph Mulero who came to the scene and they jointly attacked the two security guards with planks.

“In the process, one of the security men by the name Segun Godfrey Barde was hit with a plank and he slumped.

“He was subsequently rushed to O&A hospital where he gave up the ghost on Friday 25th of December 2020 while receiving treatment”, Oyeyemi said

The police spokesperson said the case was reported at Obantoko divisional headquarters by the CDA executives of the estate, consequent upon which the DPO, CSP Sunday Opebiyi detailed his detectives to go after the suspects, and they were subsequently apprehended one after the other.

He said they all confessed to the commission of the crime.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Edward A. Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfers of the case to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.

“The corpse of the victims has been deposited in the mortuary for post mortem examination”, Oyeyemi said

Father-of-five absonds after his wife gave birth to a set of quadruplets in Edo State

A Nigerian lady took to Facebook to share the story of how a father of newborn quadruplets took to his heels following the birth of the children.

According to the lady, Sarah Az Izevbigie, one Mrs. Rita Ndibisu, gave birth to a set of quadruplets on 02/01/2021 in Benin and sadly, what followed the good news was that her partner was nowhere to be found.

Seeking help for the woman, Sarah took to her page to share photos of the lady and her newborn kids, writing,

Renowned Nigerian Writer, Chimamanda Adichie has shared her opinion about Igbo people in an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

Chimamanda wondered how Igbos can achieve Biafra when they can’t unite towards selecting a Nigerian president who is from the region.

“There is no Biafra. There are new movements but, for me, it’s a question of being practical. Where would the border be? What is propelling these movements is a sense of marginalisation, which I think is completely valid.

“But this idea that the answer is independence is what I’m not convinced of. Nobody has made a logical case for me. Quite frankly, I’ve observed the terrible leadership that we have in the southeast.

“Igbo people cannot unite if, for example, we say we want an Igbo president. And then we’re talking about Biafra. There is a lot of political work we need to do in the southeast.

Rapper, Gucci Mane gifts wife Keyshia Ka’Oir $1 million as push present following the birth of their first child

American HipHop rapper, Gucci Mane has gifted his spouse, Keyshia Ka’Oir a whopping $1 million as a push present following the birth of their first child.

The excited new mother took to her Instagram story to share the news with her fans. She wrote, “My husband just gave me $1m for my push present.”

Keyshia and Gucci welcomed their child, a baby boy named Ice Davis on December 23.

Gucci and Keyshia, who both tied the knot in October 2017, after seven years of dating, announced they were expecting their first child back in August.

The newborn is Gucci’s second child as he already has a 12-year-old son with his ex Sheena Evans, and Keyshia has three children, two girls and a boy from a previous relationship.

The popular brand influencer in her tweet, affirms that education is not a scam, however, the system of the country doesn’t really help graduates and as such, students should ensure they add a skillset so as to give them an edge in their career.

One of the wives of the Oba of Benin, Queen Ewuare, has placed a curse on internet scammers.

The Royal personality placed the curse after sharing a chat she had with the fraudster who scammed someone she knows.

According to the Queen, a friend of hers ordered an item from an ‘Instagram seller’ but it was never delivered. The monarch’s wife was disappointed with the response she got after the contacted the seller and went on to place a curse on the person.

Popular Nigerian clergyman, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has stated that Nigeria may not have money to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, but the country has God.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God General Overseer, spoke on Sunday at the January 2021 Special Thanksgiving Service and Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the Coastline Worship Centre of the Redeemed Church of God National Headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebutte-Metta, Lagos.

Adeboye’s said this in response to a statement made by Billionaire Microsoft founder, Bill Gate, who recently said he didn’t understand why COVID-19 cases and fatalities were low in Africa, a region that lacked enough healthcare, financial resources and Government will power to fight the pandemic.

Adeboye said ;

“When I read that it will take 10 years to vaccinate people in the U.S., I wonder when the vaccine will come to Nigeria. We have no money; we have no resources, but we have God. They expected us to be dying like flies, but we have a God who says he that dwells in the secret place will be under the shadow of the almighty.”

A Nigerian man has taken to his social media page to revealed how his life changed for better when he left Nigeria for Canada.

The man with Twitter handle @MRBRIKILA1 said he wrote IELTS 3 times before he achieved the required score.

He also stated that he worked very hard and was able to buy his first house just 3 years after he got to Canada.

In his words:

“My Canada story….Wrote IELTS 3 time before I achieved required score, Sat and passed Nursing exam at first sitting, Worked in a lot of hospitals and Nursing home…Bought my first house 3rd yr after got to Canada…..it was not easy for sure but the difference is clear clear…

”while I was in 9ja I could not afford to raise 32k to sit for IELTS despite working 2 jobs and driving cab at Ikorodu.Do not let anyone that does not like progress of others to discourage you, they dont even like you to take pictures of urself with snow background.

”Do not allow them to deceive you…Can they love Nigeria more than those political office holders that earns millions monthly? I said b4,there is a thin line btwn PATRIOTISM and suffering and smiling…Pls go to any Country of ur choice it’s very important to venture out.”
