In the sermon delivered after a captured teenage fighter, Mohammed Adam disclosed that Shekau can no longer walk effectively, the Anglican reverend said he received a revelation on the health challenges Shekau is currently facing.
According to The Cablem, he also said that the Boko Haram leader needs prayers from both Christian and Muslims residents of Maiduguri and is ready to ask for forgiveness.

Award-winning actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has reacted to a Twitter user’s assertion of Elon Musk becoming the world’s richest man despite being an athiest.
The billionaire business magnate, Elon Musk became the richest person in the world, with a net worth of more than $185 billion, pushing him past Jeff Bezos, who had been the richest person since 2017 and is currently worth about $184 billion.
The report of the 49-year-old entrepreneur’s net worth and status sent Nigerian Twitter users into a frenzy.
A Twitter user who reacted to the news tweeted,
“Elon Musk, an atheist, just became the richest man in the world. No tithes, no offerings, no breakthrough seeds, just innovation. If you like still drop your January salary as first-fruit seed.”

An upcoming artiste, identified as Keanzo has accused popular Nigerian singer, Zlatan of “stealing” his song.
Keanzo who claimed the song “My life” is his intellectual property, accused Zlatan of recreating his song without his permission.
Taking to Twitter, Kaenzo lamented about being a single father who’s only trying to create a niche for himself in the music industry.

The thespian rrevealed he has had to deal with negative comments on social media because of his role in movies.

“Many of our youths are not focused and they see the social media as a place to get back at some people.
“The most unfortunate thing is that they abuse the privilege they have. Even people who cannot speak before one now think they have the opportunity to rubbish one. However, those things don’t affect me because if one has got to a particular stage in life, there are people one should not respond to.
“Whenever anybody posts a comment that I don’t consider to be ‘worthy’, I go to the person’s page to check who they are following and who is following them. Imagine getting to such a page and finding out that the person has only five followers but is following over 10,000 people. Many of these people are irresponsible and their stock-in-trade is to make negative comments on social media. As for me, I don’t join issues with such people.
“Whether we like it or not, this is Africa where we respect seniority, especially when an elder or leader has not brought themselves to a point where they would be insulted. I guess some of these people were raised in places where they don’t know about cultural values.
“It is most unfortunate that even when one plays certain roles, some youths cannot distinguish between one and the character. Just because one acted as a criminal on TV, some persons see the actor as a criminal. Meanwhile, an actor has to be flexible. Acting as a ‘ritualist’ does not mean one is a ritualist in real life. Anyway, I see those who think that way as uneducated, uninformed and having complex problems. We need to redefine the word, ‘youth’, in Nigeria. Being a youth does not mean one has to be irresponsible.”
Moyo Thomas, a former employee of FCMB who was caught in a paternity fraud scandal with the organization’s MD, Adam Nuru has finally spoken about the matter.
According to Moyo, contrary to viral report, she never told her late husband, Tunde Thomas that he was not the father of their two children.
Recall that viral reports alleged that Moyo’s estranged husband, Tunde Thomas, died from heart attack after battling depression upon learning that the two children from their marriage were allegedly fathered by Nuhu Adams, who she was allegedly in a romantic relationship with.
The mother of two in a recently released statement revealed that she refrained from commenting on the issue to preserve memories of Tunde who died on December 16th, 2020.
Speaking further, she owned up to having a lot of differences in her marriage to Tunde, some of which led to police intervention, and has remained committed to keeping only positive memories of him.
The statement reads,
“I write in reference to all the allegations and accusations that have recently been making the rounds on the internet and various social media platforms. I have refrained from responding to this matter for various reasons, one of which is to preserve the memories of Tunde who departed to be with his maker on December 16, 2020. Memories, not only to me, but to his children, who are still young, and to everybody who had a relationship with him.
“Just like any marriage, Tunde and I had a lot of differences in our marriage, some of which even led to police intervention . But I remain committed to keeping only positive memories of him. No one can ever understand what transpired between us or what each of us experienced in the marriage; like they say, it is he who wears the shoes that knows where it pinches. In all of it, I never for once wished him bad. His untimely and sudden death is still a shock to me as it is to many others.
“On no occasion did I ever tell him he was not the father of our two children. It is therefore deliberate falsehood and certainly malicious to allege and insinuate that I informed him that the children are not his. The children still bear his name. Only God knows why he died in an untimely period. It is not in my place, or anyone’s place to play God and talk with certainty as to the cause of his death, without proven medical facts.
“Despite our separation, we never allowed our differences affect the relationships we respectively have with the children. He still had conversations with the children like any father will, up until his sudden and unfortunate death. It is quite sad and disheartening to see the pictures of these innocent children splashed all over the internet with very disparaging and weird comments.
“I do wish his family and friends the fortitude to bear the unfortunate loss and I ask that we all be allowed to grieve his loss in peace. He has now been laid to rest and we implore all and sundry to please respect our privacy and allow those grieving his loss, including the children and I, to do so in peace.”

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, presented 10 million Naira cheque to the best graduating students of the Lagos State University (LASU) on Friday, January 8.

The governor awarded the reward to the overall best graduating student, Oladimeji Shotunde, whose mother is a trader and his father a mechanic, and a MSc graduate.
22-year-old Oladimeji graduated from the Department of Business Administration in the Faculty of Management Science, with a record-breaking CGPA of 4.95.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also presented a cheque of 5 million Naira to Sola Onabanjo, a Master’s degree graduand from the department of Computer Science, who scored a CGPA of 5.0.

A 27-year-old Nigerian drug kingpin identified as Chukuda Onyabu and his 26-year-old Ghanaian counterpart Emmanuel Osei who were remanded in Abokobi Police Cells near Adenta in the Greater Accra Region, have reportedly escaped from prison.
The suspects who are facing charges of possession of narcotic drugs and conspiracy to commit crimes and stealing respectively, were detained in prison custody while awaiting the next court date.
However on January 1, 2021, it was detected that the two suspected criminals had escaped from the cells by using the iron rod used at the ventilation hole of the bathroom’s door to scrape a portion of the cell’s wall and removed one of the blocks. They reportedly escaped through the hole they created.
It was further learnt that efforts are underway to arrest the suspects whose images have been circulated to various police outlets in and outside Accra.

The micro-blogging website suspended Trump’s account due to the risk of ”further incitement of violence”.
A statement released by the website reads ;
After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.
In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action.
Our public interest framework exists to enable the public to hear from elected officials and world leaders directly. It is built on a principle that the people have a right to hold power to account in the open.

A 10-year-old boy, Akubuisi Okonkwo has been crowned king of Iyiora Anam kingdom in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He ascended the throne after the death of his father, His Royal Highness, Igwe Onyeachonam Okonkwo, the Olame 1 of Iyiora Anam.
His father was said to have been the youngest king in Anambra state when he ascended the throne and ruled throughout his life, before his son was coronated.
The young king was coronated as Igwe Olanme II of Iyiora Anam on Thursday, January 7, 2020, after his father was buried last December, making him the youngest king in Anambra State.
He will now be addressed as His Royal Highness (Igwe) Olanme ii of Iyiora and is expected to rule the kingdom of Iyiora throughout his lifetime.

A Nigerian man identified as Ahangba Angweh Fidelis, has reunited with a man, Samuel Akaazua, who saved his life after he was attacked by an armed robber twenty five years ago.
Fidelis who hails from Nasarawa state revealed that after the armed robber attacked him in 1996 he almost lost his life as he was in a pool of blood, when Samuel appeared at the scene, scared the robber away and rushed him to the hospital.
Few weeks ago, Fidelis travelled to Akaazua’s village to appreciate him for saving his life 25 years ago, and interestingly, both men are now in inlaws as Akaazua’s younger brother is married to Fidelis’ younger sister.
Taking to Facebook to share his story, he wrote,
“It was in the middle of June 1996 when I was attacked by an armed robber along Branch Akaazua- Mede road, who stabbed me on my lower jaw and other parts of my body with an intention to weaken or even kill me so he could steal my bike, this happened between 4-5pm.
“I was in the pool of my blood hoping for help as the road was a bit lonely, meanwhile that devil has taken over my bike but unfortunately for him the wire that supplies current to plug removed, I saw it from the point I was standing with my bloody body but he didn’t noticed it, so he was busy kicking the bike thinking it will come alive but it didn’t, not long ago I saw a man on a Yamaha Mate 90 bike approaching the scene, little did I know that he was the angel God has sent to come and rescue me, as the bike got closer, behold, it was a known face, a man that use to visit our family house, it was Mr Samuel Akaazua also know as Akamuku, it was his arrival and the role he played that scared the thief who finally took to his heels.
“The man on a black vest in the attached images is the person I am talking about, the man God used to save my life when I just left secondary school, few weeks ago I traced him down to his village after over 25years of that incidence, and the reason for the visit was just to tell him thank you, the purpose was to appreciate him, meanwhile,he also told me he has been asking of me too, what I thought was going to be a brief and secret visit became a semi party where almost all the village was invited, he bought drinks and we all celebrated, he was indeed so excited seen me, I was too.
“It is very important for us to remember people, who were there for us in our low moments, it is good to show appreciation, it is heavenly if you have a heart of gratitude, It does a lot for you, angbian vesen Samuel Akaazua sir, I still owe you and God himself will reward you immensely for once saving the life of an innocent boy who is now a grown man.
“Life has a way of also bringing us together, today my immediate younger sister is married to Mr Samuel Akaazua younger brother with three kids, is God not wonderful?, Today my relationship with him is beyond that of a rescuer and the victim, but that of inlaws, we have become one family, that’s life for us.
“As we live, we must be mindful of how we relate with others, how we treat others, tomorrow is longer than yesterday and today put together, we must always be willing to help or assist where and when we can, alu u ngu wasen ior yo, u ngu wasen ka iyol yough (if you are doing helping others,you are indirectly helping yourself). We must be good and we must always be helpful.”
