Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has allegedly received the Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to reports, the politician took his first dose of the vaccine in Dubai to prevent the emergence of COVID-19 symptoms in his body.
Atiku is said to be the first Nigerian to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
According to Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari, Bashir Ahmed, Nigeria is set to receive its first batch of the vaccine at the end of this month.

Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Nsikak Eduok is reportedly dead at the age of 73.
In a statement released on Thursday January 7th, the secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem confirmed that the retired Chief of Air Staff died after battling an end-stage kidney failure.
Ekuwem described the deceased as an elder statesman who would be missed because of his contribution to the development of the state and the nation at large.
The statement reads,
“The information from his doctors indicate that he died of end-stage kidney failure.
“The late elder statesman was a very respected Nigerian and Akwa Ibomite who contributed greatly to the development of our country and state.
“His Excellency the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, is greatly grieved by the news of his death and extends his condolences to the bereaved family.
A shocking conversation between a lady and her boyfriend has sparked hot debate on social media, after it surfaced online.
According to the WhatsApp chat, the boyfriend’s mother paid a visit to her son and met a pot of food prepared by his girlfriend. Upon tasting the food, she felt it wasn’t tasty enough and made adjustment to the food.
The girlfriend, who was enraged by his mother’s action, confronted him about her grievance. She stated that it was unacceptable and felt his mother was insinuating that she is a bad cook.

Former presidential aide, lawyer and author, Reno Omokri has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Don Davis’ alleged ordeal in a Deeper Life School in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, in the defense of Pastor Williams Kumuyi.
Omokri, in a post shared via his verified Instagram page, stated that anyone who believes Deborah Okezie’s tales about her son’s alleged molestation and sexual abuse in the school, should stop following him.

Disqualified Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ housemate, Erica Nlewedim has replied a man who claimed to have dated her.
The man with username @flyderapper1 on IG, said that the reality TV star and actress was his former girlfriend, also revealed that he is still in love with her.
He made the confession after Erica shared new photos of herself on her official Instagram page.
Taking to the comment section, @flyderapper wrote;
“Erica my EX I still love you”
The reality TV star, however, said that she does not know him.
A 12-year-old girl identified as Blessing, was found alive in a inside a soakaway, after she was reported missing in Delta state.
It was reported that Blessing went missing on New Year Day after she was sent on an errand by her parents.
She was later found with a slit throat, inside a soakaway behind her family house on Tuesday, January 5th, after a child heard her whimpering and raised an alarm.
According to reports by Warri Aproko, Blessing was abducted by three men, allegedly stabbed on the back and her throat slit before she was dumped in the soakaway.
Her body was found covered in white chalk, suggesting that it was a case of attempted ritual killing.
Blessing who is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital, identified one of the abductors as her neighbour identified smply as “General”.
According to the victim, General was the one who lured and whisked her away in a car. After they were done, the men dumped her inside the soakaway to die.
General is said to be at large since the day the girl went missing.

A man identified as Oruta Mmaduabuchi has caused a stir on social media after he opined that ladies in serious relationships are not meant to be giving out their numbers to other men.
According to him, once a woman is engaged in a serious relationship, it’s not proper for her to share her number with any other man except her lover.
Taking to Facebook, the man wrote;
“Why will a woman in serious relationship still gives her number to guys.”
A 33-year-old man, identified as Hassan Ebere, who sells dead poultry meat to his unsuspecting customers have been arrested.
Following his arrest Ebere confessed to have sold 6,000 dead poultry meat to residents of Maiduguri for five years.
He made the confession while being paraded by the Borno Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), on Wednesday, January 6th.
Narrating how he successfully the dead poultry meat to his customers, he said
“I usually go to the Ngadabul River, behind Borno Radio Television (BRTV) complex, to pick the carcasses of poultry that are thrown away from poultry farms. So, every week, I pick at least ten or even more than that, then process it and take it to sell to unsuspecting customers.
“My market base usually Baga fish market, where I sell some of them as bush meat, Monday market, suya joints and some selected restaurants within the metropolis. The products usually go for N700, N800. But if it had spent some days, I take them to local beer parlours at the back of Ngomari ward and sell them for N250.”
Ebere said he engaged in the nefarious act so as to raise money for his livelihood since he lost his father. He blamed the devil, and begged for forgiveness.
The Borno Commandant of the NSCDC, Abdullahi Ibrahim, who confirmed the development, said that the suspect was arrested, while processing the meat behind BRTV complex on January 2nd, 2021.
Ibrahim said that the command got intelligence reports about the nefarious acts before swinging into action to apprehend him, adding that the arrest of the suspect had stopped what had been a serious health hazard to the people.
He called on the Ministry of Environment and the the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), to fight the circulation of such unwholesome products, in order to ensure the safety and health of the people.
The State Coordinator of NAFDAC, Nasiru Mato, stated that the implication of such an act was in the threat it posed to public safety.
In his words,
“The carcass of the poultry from the farm must have died from one or two infectious diseases which could easily be transmitted to humans. So, it can be very disastrous and dangerous to consumers. There are severe penalties on any one found engaging in this type of unwholesome activity.
“We, therefore, urge the general public to make sure, when buying live chicken, they should either slaughter them by themselves or are slaughtered in their presence. They must also make sure that the chicken are certified by a registered vet to ensure public safety.”

Popular Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun better known as Wizkid reportedly flew his personal “suya man” from Nigeria to Ghana to satisfy his craving for Suya.
The ojuelegba crooner who has been in Ghana, where he also celebrated Christmas Eve alongside his colleague, Burna Boy and British girlfriend, Stefflon Don, reportedly flew his personal “Suya man” from Lagos to Ghana.
A member of Wizkid’s crew revealed this on Snapchat while sharing a video of the “aboki” preparing the spicy meat skewer.

A seven-year-old boy identified as Logan Walsh is currently suffering from memory loss, after falling ill with Covid-19.
Logan is said to have recovered from coronavirus but is now struggling with a particularly strange side effect, which led to his loss of memory.
A specialist at Leeds General Infirmary, where Logan was treated, spotted the signs of PIMS-TS, or paediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome.
The condition can cause organ failure, insufficient blood flow, as well as other severe medical issues, meaning children need to be admitted to ICU.
Logan had to undergo steroid treatment and later developed a heart murmur that led to him being transferred to the Intensive Care ward.
Logan’s body began to swell as it attempted to heal itself and his blood became dangerously thin.
According to a report by Yorkshire live, the 7-year old now frequently forgets little things that his mum has to remind him of.
Logan’s mum, Jessica Walsh stated that,
“Now with his memory, he forgets some things which can be frustrating for him.
“He has no memory of the nine worst days when he was poorly, which we decided is probably a good thing. There was one particular day when I really thought we might lose him.
“But his memory in general is not brilliant as he remembered Christmas morning for a few days but has no recollection of it now”.
However, she added that Logan is doing really well, and is getting back to normal.
Nigerian media personality, Japheth J. Omojuwa has said it should be a crime for people to give birth to children that the neither intend to train nor nurture.
Omojuwa averred that such acts be classified as capital crime and a sin because it is “like bringing a life into the world to make them suffer before killing them.”

The police in Kwara state have arrested a 24-year-old teacher, Medinat Ibrahim, for allegedly faking her own kidnap just to extort N250, 000 from her father.
Medinat, who was paraded alongside two other suspects identified as Amudalat Wahab (30) and Hammed Lekan (28) said she committed the crime to raise money to settle a debt which accrued from the monthly contribution at the private school where she serves as a teacher.
She alleged she was maltreated by her stepmother who also caused friction between her and her father, adding that she decided to fake her own kidnap to get money to offset debts she incurred during COVID-19 lockdown.
I teach in a private school where I was paid N15,000. We organised monthly contribution which I collected and invested in a business, but when COVID-19 broke out, our salary was stopped, I could no longer continue with the contribution.
“Those who were in the group continued to mount pressure on me to pay up my own contribution and there is nowhere that I could get the money. So I decided to go and hide in my sister’s place and I told someone to call my father on phone that I was kidnapped and demanded a ransom of N250,000 which was paid to my friend’s account.” she said
Parading her before newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Bagega, said Medinat conspired with her elder sister, Amudalat Wahab, and one Hammed Lekan to arrange her kindap and they have both been arrested as well.
The CP said a bank account, belonging to one Hammed Lekan, was used to cash the N250,000.

A Nigerian man simply identified as Olayinka, thanks God as he buys himself a Lexus SUV, what he couldn’t dream of affording 5 years ago.
In a post via his handle @YinkaPost on Tuesday, January 5, the man said his eyes were filled with tears after he bought a Lexus SUV from the dealership.
According to Olayinka, the car he could only dream of having 5 years ago was a Toyota Big Daddy.
He then expressed gratitude to God in prayers, as he never expected his life to change that fast.
The young man shared a photo of the new vehicle with the caption:

The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), has warned that the second wave of Covid-19 is easily transmittable and deadlier.
LUTH in an advisory issued by its Chief Medical Director, Professor Chris Bode, warned Nigerians to adhere to all Covid-19 safety measures.
Professor Bode stated that the hospital has seen an upsurge of people treating malaria instead of going for Covid-19 test. Adding that most of the people that have died from the disease went to the hospital late for diagnosis and treatment.
The advisory read in part,
“Unlike whhat we witnessed in the first wave, this one is even more easily transmitted and deadlier too.
“It’s therefore imperative for everyone first and foremost to accept that Covid-19 pandemic is not over and we must prepare to confront it all over again.
“This is not to alarm the people, but rather, but to alert us all to what is happening and call on each person to do again what we have done well before. Every life is precious and implore Nigerians to do whatever is needed to save our people”.
