“It’s unladylike to empty the entire plate during a date” – Man lists behaviors women exhibit on dates that put men off

Man lists

A Nigerian man identified as Babajide, recently took to Twitter to highlight some of the behaviours women exhibit on first dates that makes men lose interest in them.

According to him, it’s “unladylike” for a woman to eat all the food in their plates or chew bones while on a date.

Babajide also said any woman that attempts to request for take away on a casual date is not a spec. He pointed out how some women pretend to want to pay for the takeaway by themselves, simply because they know the men will turn down the offer and pay for it.

In his defense, he said “a date isn’t an avenue to display that you’re a foodie! You are coming to have a discussion in the actual sense, the meal is just for refreshment ( I assume you’d have had your fill before coming) so focusing on the food and crushing bones is needless!”

His tweets has triggered mixed reactions from Netizens with some tweeps dragging him for his biased assertion.

“Mutated COVID-19 found in the UK, allegedly already in Nigeria” — Experts

Scientists at the Africa Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID), at the Redeemers University in Ede, Osun State have said the new variant of the coronavirus currently causing panic and concern in the United Kingdom and European Union has been identified in Nigeria.

In a publication shared on Virological, a website for the global Genomics community, scientists at the Africa Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases at Ede revealed that they found the same variant “lineage B.1.1.7” existing in Osun State since August 3rd when the first sample was collected.

The publication also stated that another sample, also from Osun State, collected in October, correspondingly showed the presence of this new variant.

In an interview with Premiumtimes, Professor Christian Happi who is the Director at the Africa Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID), said,

“the B.1.1.7 lineage we found in Nigeria, predating the one described in the UK, has also been observed to rise rapidly in the UK over the past four weeks, indicating the plausible increased spread of the virus by specific non-synonymous mutations in the spike protein.”

He refused to attribute the new variance found in Nigeria to the spike in the number of confirmed COVID19 cases in the country in recent times.

“We however haven’t observed such rapid rise of the lineage in Nigeria and do not have sufficient evidence to indicate that the B.1.1.7 lineage is contributing to increased transmission of the virus in Nigeria,” he said.

Speaking further, Happi said,

“At the moment, only about 1% of the genomes from Nigeria belong to the new SARS-CoV-2 variant (B.1.1.7 lineage) and one of them predates the first description in the UK. However, this might change in the next few weeks when we sequence more samples from the recently reported surge of covid-19 in Nigeria. Other reported mutations such as the N501Y, A570D, and the HV 69 – 70 deletion in the spike protein have not been detected in our genomes yet, this could also be associated with the non-increase of the lineage in Nigeria currently.

In as much as the full effect of this mutation isn’t known yet and it is still being studied, the importance of a robust genomic surveillance system cannot be overemphasized as we can identify and report changes in the genomes of pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2 that are of public health interest”

Woman suffering agonizing tummy pain tried to go to toilet but ends up giving birth

A woman who had an agonizing stomach upset rushed to the toilet to relieve herself only to realize she was giving birth.

New-mum, Billie Ward had no idea she was in labour. She had been warned she probably wouldn’t give birth on her due date so thought her tummy pains were a false alarm.

In her words ;

“[The day before the birth] I had a few pains at 5am. There was nothing too abnormal but I’d been having these pains for a few days.

“I was also booked in for a sweep on the day, but the midwife had said ‘oh no, your cervix isn’t favourable. You’ve got to shorten it and you’re not going to have your baby on your due date’.

“At 6pm that night I was having period-type pains, it wasn’t abnormal or anything that concerned me.

“I came downstairs at 3.45am. I was biting down on the sofa because I could feel this pain and genuinely thought it was a poo.”

The 22-year-old had been in pain and straining on the loo for around an hour before calling 999 and finding out she was giving birth.

“By this point, no waters had broken. Every time I pushed, I thought ‘I don’t know what that was’. I’d never had a baby…

“I rang 999 at 4.45am, it was not okay. I was biting down and scratching myself because I was in so much pain.

“My mum [Liesa Allcock, 45] had four C-sections so she’d never had a contraction either.

“I said to the ambulance woman ‘I’m not sure, this could be a poo. But I’m in a lot of pain’.”

The medical team arrived at 5.05am and found Billie on her bathroom floor with her worried mum, before little baby Arete arrived at 5.10am.

Billie said: “The woman ran up the stairs and said ‘if you give one push, the baby’s going to be here’. She gave me gas and air after I gave birth as my body was in shock, I was shaking.

“Because of how quickly I went into labour, my waters didn’t break. My body wasn’t prepared.

“The paramedic just pulled the sac away from her. Apparently, it’s quite lucky to have a baby on their due date and still in their sac.

“The first thing Josh said was ‘I think I need to get a coffee’. I think he was in so much shock.

“He was like ‘oh my god, what has just happened in my bathroom. I’ve been awake 10 minutes’.”

Churches should be shut again if necessary – Pastor Ituah Ighodalo

(200313) -- BEIJING, March 13, 2020 (Xinhua) -- Medics work at the coronavirus isolation centre at the Mbagathi Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, March 6, 2020. TO GO WITH XINHUA HEADLINES OF MARCH 13, 2020. (Photo by Fred Mutune/Xinhua)

Pastor, Ituah Ighodalo, says churches should be closed if it becomes necessary to do so as part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus that is currently on its second wave in Nigeria.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

Pastor, Ituah Ighodalo while appearing on Arise TV today December 21, was asked to share his thought on the government shutting down churches due to the second wave of COVID-19.

He said;

“If we need to. There is nothing sacrosanct about a religious house; a religious house is a gathering of people wanting to worship God. If that gathering and that intimacy in the gathering will lead to the spread of germs or disease, God, because you want to worship Him, would not say that the physical things that you need to do should not be done.

So, if we need to shut down the churches, why not? Churches were shut down several months ago. We didn’t die, we survived. The churches learnt to go online, on Zoom. Christianity benefited from it because we now began to use more technology to offer our evangelism and our worship of God and we quite enjoyed it.

The Zoom meetings are not as intimate but we have managed to reduce things to house fellowships and life must go on.”

He disagreed with the opinion shared in some quarters that churches played a role in the recent spike in the number of confirmed cases of the virus.

“To speak to the issue as to whether churches are the ones who have not allowed COVID-19 cases to go down or who are the ones going against COVID-19 protocols, I regret to say I don’t quite agree.

I think the government has bigger fishes to fry. If you go to any of the markets, any of the bus stops, any of the busy places, people don’t even wear masks. So, those gatherings of people are much more than the gathering in any church from time to time.

In fairness to most churches, they have tried, a few no doubt have flouted the rules here and there but most of them have tried to keep to the COVID-19 protocols. So, it is not fair to say that it is the big churches that are flouting COVID guidelines.” he said

SIM Deactivation: Large Crowd Invades NIMC Office In Lagos Amid COVID-19 Restrictions (Photos)

large crows storms

Mammoth crowd stormed the Alausa office of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in Lagos State on Monday, December 21, to obtain their National Identification Number (NIN), following the SIM deactivation order by the Federal Government.

large crowd

This comes amid the FG’s warning against large gatherings as the country battles its second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) gave local telecommunications operators two weeks deadline to block all sims who are yet to be registered with the National identify numbers (NIN). The order is said to be from the Federal Government.

The Monday rush at the Alausa office is therefore not unconnected to the ultimatum as Nigerians attempt to get their NIN, for fear of having their sims deactivated after the two-weeks ultimatum.

Large crowd

Members of the House of Representatives asked the Federal Government to extend the deadline for the provision of NIN by telcos to 10 weeks.

The House, at the plenary on Wednesday, described the two weeks given to SIM card users by NCC to provide their NIN to service providers as grossly inadequate.

However, the Commission was yet to make a public reversal of its notice as at Monday, December 20.

The large gathering at the NIMC office has sparked outrage from Netizens, who called out both Lagos and Federal Governor for issuing conflicting directives.

It would be recalled that over the weekend, the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced a slew of COVID-19 restrictions, in preparation for second wave of COVID-19 infection.

The state placed a ban on concerts, street parties, and nightclubs. He also ordered a shut down of schools and instructed civil servants from grade level 14 to work from home.

Tacha bags

Tacha who made this revelation in her recent vlog on her YouTube channel said,

“On September 27, 2019, I was disqualified from Big Brother Naija. That was a very low moment for me, having almost got to the finals and being dropped.

“Getting disqualified was one of the low moments of my life. I felt down. There were times I would be all by myself and start crying that I almost got to the last day of the show. It really shook me and a lot of people. But, I got elevated somehow, and I still don’t know how that happened.

There is a stigma behind getting disqualified but I am still doing well a year later. I consider that to be a huge elevation. Some people have gone through such moments in their lives and still have not been able to get back on their feet. For me, it was a different ball game”.

The reality star who noted that she’s a living proof of God’s greatness, revealed that a year after the show people her circle started acting awkward and things started getting tough for her again, but she was able to pull through.

In her words,

“Few people in my circle started acting awkward. Things just started getting hard from around that same time this year and I could not understand why. Things were getting harder and the people in my circle were acting in a certain way.

“Who would have thought this little girl from a rural area in Port Harcourt could be the one that many people look up to? I am a living testimony that God is good.”
