The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested one, Williams Michael Ogwezi also known as Dr. Williams, for parading himself as a staff of the Commission to defraud his victims.
It was alleged that Williams is a member of a syndicate that specializes in forging identity cards of the Commission as well as those of other law enforcement agencies.
The suspect was arrested in Lagos, following a report received by the Commission from the Nigeria Police Area Command Ajah, Lagos.
Investigation revealed that the suspect had defrauded one of his victims, a lady, of jewelry valued at N10, 000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) before his arrest.
Williams has reportedly confessed to the crime and items recovered from him at the point of arrest include an identity card with inscription of EFCC, EFCC face masks, three laptops, three mobile phones and two vehicles (Lexus and Hyundai Genesis).
Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren averred that he will soon be charged to court.

Friends and family of a young man, identified as Victor Asuquo Akpan, have been thrown into mourning after he allegedly slumped and died while participating in the Nigerian Army screening exercise.
Akpan was reportedly at the Nigerian Army screening exercise in Ibawa, Akwa Ibom State when he slumped and died on Monday, December 7th.
A friend of the deceased who shared the sad story on Facebook revealed that, Akpans body was laid to rest on Thursday, December 10th.

A suspected Kidnaper, simply identified as Lisa was reportedly apprehended, and beaten up by angry mob in Nasarawa state.
According to a Facebook user, Ismail Samai, who shared the story on the platform, Lisa specializes in n kidnapping children and selling them to ritualists.

A Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed a “no- case application” filed by internet sensation, Ismaila Mustapha better known as Mompha.
The socialite who is currently standing trial over an alleged N32.9 billion internet fraud and currently facing a 22 count criminal charge bordering on money laundering alongside his co defendant, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, were directed to open their defence.

The Minister of Defence, Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (rtd.), has said that Nigeria is safer today than it was many years ago under the previous administration.
According to him, the Nigerian Army is one of the best in Africa and can defeat any enemy when given the right arsenals and assistance.
Magashi stated this while speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today programme, on Thursday, December 110.
He said, “In Africa, Nigerian Army should be adjudged one of the best, we have conducted so many operations outside Nigeria. We went to ECOMOG (Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group), we did the very best we can. We went to Sierra Leone, we did the very best we can and some other places. We are a force that is reckon with in Africa but because of the nature of the prolongation of this war, people are getting tired.
“They (Boko Haram terrorists) are not concentrated in one particular place, it is an operation that they hit and run, we don’t even know their bases. Now, we know that the best way to fight these people is to get enough intelligence and go out there to fight them and this is what we are doing. Every day, we are getting information and the Nigerian Army and Air Force are running them down.”
The minister also said that Boko Haram have been dislodged from Borno State but they occasionally launch fatal attacks to attract the attention of the international community and embarrass the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said, “They don’t hold any ground in Borno State. The only thing with this kind of insurgent operation is that they want to surprise you, embarrass you and do whatever they think will attract international news or commotion. That is what they have been doing and that is why we are trying very hard to adopt tactics and other forms of operations in order to stop these people embarrassing this nation.”
“At the moment, most people think because of these sporadic attacks here and there, we lost control or we are not doing our best. Most people know the problem of this country; the Armed Forces are overstretched, we are not supported by some of these countries we call our friends, they are not ready to give us what we need. Pastor Timi Adigun of MINE teenage ministry, a church focused on the sexual purity of teenagers, has been called out for allegedly sexually harassing teenage girls.
The Pastor was called out by a teens counsellor identified as Akan Imoh on Facebook. According to him, the culprit has been having carnal knowledge of ladies in his church, despite being the chief convener of “sexual purity/virginity day” in Nigeria.
Akan said when rumours of the clergyman’s sexual escapades started spreading, top leaders of the church launched an investigation into the matter and discovered that the allegations were true.
He expressed his grievance that the pastor has refused to address the allegations since it became public knowledge few months ago and has gone ahead to establish another church named “Haven of love”.
Reacting to the allegations, Mine Teenage Ministry has taken to Twitter to dissociate itself from the alleged shameful act of the pastor.
In a series of tweets, they wrote,
