President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says hoodlums who have been looting warehouses and shops were not necessarily hungry but greedy.
Adesina disclosed on a Channels TV programme, Sunrise Daily, insisting that the looting spree which occurred in the aftermath of #EndSARS protest was propelled by greed and criminality and not really poverty.
“I wouldn’t agree completely with that (that the looters are hungry) because criminality is criminality, would you justify armed robbery because the man was poor?
“Just as you can’t justify armed robbery because a man was poor and then he took a gun to rob another person. You can’t also justify the lootings that are going on. It is pure criminality.
“It is not everybody engaged in that looting that is hungry, that is the truth. It is pure greed and criminality,”he said.

The WhatsApp conversation between a man and a lady —supposedly Nigerians— has left a lot of people confused over the situation they both are in.
As can be deducted from their conversation, the man had asked the lady out some ten months ago and she has since then, refused to give him a definitive answer but asked him not to see other women.
According to the lady, she needs time to heal from her previous relationship and doesn’t just want to jump into a new one so there won’t be complications and so she asks the guy to wait for her and in the meanwhile, not see other ladies, cause she considers it “cheating”.
The guy, who apparently is frustrated with the whole situationship and seems to be less interested with the lady —who he saved her number as “Mtcheww”— then asks her not to make such demands from cause he’s not her boyfriend.
Their conversation has stirred mixed reactions from netizens as while some people feel she’s okay to beg that he waits for her cause the healing process of some people takes a lot of time, others feel the waiting period has gone on for far too lng.
Popular Nigerian Rapper, Jude ‘MI’ Abaga has opined that the people who area actively involved voting are usually not on social media.
He said this while reacting to the various clips showing Lawmakers speaking at plenary, in which some very unsatisfactory words were used to describe young people.
He wrote on Twitter ;
Let me tell what the law makers have said to us today.. they know we won’t vote.. and that the people that vote aren’t on social media.. they can speak about us like that because they don’t think it will affect their office..
You getting your PVC?
Let me tell what the law makers have said to us today.. they know we won't vote.. and that the people that vote aren't on social media.. they can speak about us like that because they don't think it will affect their office..
Nigerian actor, director, and politician, Desmond Elliot recently faced heavy backlash from netizens online over his comment in the House of Assembly where he called for a ‘change in narrative’ as regards the way some unruly behavior is displayed on social media.
In the video, the Actor-turned-Lawmaker called on the youth to get into Government if they are tired.
He also seized the opportunity to plead with Nigerian celebrities, social media influencers and motivational speakers to “tune down on the hate narrative.”
He said the youth have a constitutional means to change government and it is called the ‘PVC’.
After facing heavy backlash by people online, the politician has now taken to his Twitter page to tender an apology saying he didn’t mean to be insensitive with his statement.
He wrote,
1. I have read your honest feedback & suggestions& I sincerely apologize for addressing the youth as “Children”
I did not mean to be insensitive with this, it was borne out of the magnitude of destruction & looting of businesses I witnessed when I went on a tour of my constituency
2. I saw women crying and my constituent members distraught as a result of the damages inflicted on their source of livelihood. I was moved by this while giving my submission on the floor of the House.
3. I allowed my emotions get the better of me and for this I apologize to everyone my earlier statements may have hurt.
4. Please, understand that even the best of us make mistakes. This is why, moving forward, I ask that we all try to engage constructively on the issues that affect all of us. I promise to do the same.
5. The pain that I feel for my constituents, the calls for assistance that I continue to get, and the need to mitigate against further destruction and violence will continue to drive my engagements and my work.
6. I thank you all for expressing your views, and in the future, I promise to be more conscious and aware.

Honourable Mojisola Alli-Maculay has called for the re-orientation of Nigerian Youths.
According to the Lagos State House of Assembly Member, most youths are ‘high on drugs at all times.”
Hon. Mojisola represents Amuwo Odofin 1 constituency, and this statement was made during her submission during the House’s deliberation on the crisis that rocked Lagos State after hoodlums hijacked the #EndSARS protest and carried out wanton destruction of properties and killings this past week.
She averred that young people now go on social media to do all sorts of things.
In her words;
“Look at the children these days. The youths. I like your submission Mr Speaker that it is not unemployment that should be the bane or the reason why youths will come out and misbehave.
“There are unemployment in so many countries of the world, even in the United States. I schooled in the UK and I saw a lot of young people who were not employed but they didn’t become hoodlums. Why can’t we look inwards and look for solutions to our problems. Why can’t young people look within themselves, look for their talents.”
“Even as graduates, what stops you from becoming a designer or a professional tiler?”
“There is no excuse for being a hoodlum.”
“I think it’s about time that the National Orientation Agency needs to set to work. We need to begin to orientate our young people. They need people who can talk to them from time to time.”
“They are high on drugs most of the time, most of them. They go to social media, they do all sorts of things.”

Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has reinstated his media aide, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, popularly known as Dawisu.
Recall that Dawisu was suspended over his tweet, condemning Buhari’s administrations response to the EndSARS protest.
The media aide accused president Buhari’s administration of being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians even though he went round the country soliciting for votes in 2019.
His tweet read,
“I have never seen a government with zero empathy like that of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“So many times when his people are going through a difficult time and expect some sort of tap on shoulder to reassure them that he is in charge, but he failed to do so.
“The ‘I don’t care attitude’ is on another level.
“To speak to your own people over issues that are bedeviling them has become something like a favour you are doing to them.
“Over and over again, you cannot spare five minutes to address the nation to calm them down, the same people you went to the 36 states to beg for their votes, it is heartbreaking.”
However, Dawisu has again taken to Twitter, but this time, to confirm his reinstatement, two weeks after he was suspended.
He tweeted,
“I wish to thank each and every one that reached out to me, or sent messages of goodwill over my reinstatement as Special Adviser Media to H.E @GovUmarGanduje, after my 2wks suspension. I am grateful to you all for your support and prayers. Thank you so much. #ZeroTension”

Lagos State Lawmaker, Olusegun Akande has explained why the previously peaceful #EndSars protest in the state turned into carnage.
While speaking during a plenary at the state house of assembly, the lawmaker representing Ojo 1 asked if celebrities who joined the protest were expecting it to be peaceful when they were feeding people who have no means of eating during the protest.

Former spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Sani Usman(rtd) has claimed that blank ammunition was used during the gunfire incidence at the Lekki tollgates on October, 20th.
Usman who spoke on ARISE News on Wednesday, October 27th, stated that blank ammo has little or no effect on its target.
In his words,
“If you look at the canisters, they were blank ammo and blank ammo don’t even kill. At a close range, l – maybe 100-metres – maybe it will have some pigmentation on your skin.
Remember the military are armed and by the nature of their training, they are trained to kill and I think the military in its wisdom instead of using live ammunition decided to use blank armour which is meant for training.
I think they should be commended for that otherwise there would have been serious collateral damage, but they were professional enough to have done that.”
Human rights group, Amnesty International had on Wednesday October 28th, released a timeline of the shooting of #EndSARS protesters at the toll plaza on October 20. The AI said its crisis response experts investigated and verified social media videos and photographs that confirmed that security forces were present at the scene when the shootings occurred.
In response Usman said,
“There was a time when I was the director army public relations, Amnesty International accused the Nigerian military of killing over 5000 people in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
Common sense would have told you that there was no hospital with the capacity to contain even 50 dead bodies or 100. This and many other spurious allegations have been going on against the Nigerian military by the Amnesty International.”
Apostle Michael Akpor of the Palace of God Bible Church, Delta state, has sounded a strong warning for men seeking a life partner.
The clergymen during a sermon advised them to be wary of ladies, as 93% of everything about them are lies. In this context, he was referring to make-up and fake “bum-bum”.
He further added that the best time for a man to make his marriage intentions known to a lady is early in the morning. According to him, it is the best time because the man will see the lady’s real face without any beauty enhancement.
“Boys! two things I want to tell you, beware of deceivers, everything about girls, 93% na lie. If you want to engage a girl, go around 6am when she is still sleeping so that you will see the true colour of the girl.”he said.
