A number of hoodlums broke into a warehouse in Monkey community of Maza-Maza, Lagos state on Thursday, October 22, and carted away some COVID-19 palliatives they found in the facility.

Nigerian playwright and poet, Wole Soyinka has affirmed that according to his findings that the Lagos state Governor, Sanwo-Olu had no hands in ordering the shooting at the Lekki toll gate area.
Soyinka who condemned the massacre by the Nigerian Army said the centre has chosen to act in an authoritarian manner and has inflicted a near incurable wound on the community psyche.
In his words: “It is absolutely essential to let this government know that the Army has now replaced SARS in the demonic album of the protesters.
“My enquiry so far indicates that the Lagos governor did not invite in the Army, did not complain of a ‘breakdown in law and order’. Nevertheless the Centre has chosen to act in an authoritarian manner and has inflicted a near incurable wound on the community psyche.”
However, Soyinka asked State Governors where the Federal Government has deployed the military to quell protests to demand their withdrawals now to avoid further escalation of the crisis.
“At that earlier mention Lagos sector, Lekki, where most of the affirmative action gatherings had taken place, soldiers opened fire on unarmed demonstrators, killing and wounding a yet undetermined number. One such extra-judicial killing has drenched the Nigerian flag in the blood of innocents – and not symbolically.
“The video has, in accustomed parlance, ‘gone viral’. I have spoken by phone to eye-witnesses. One, a noted public figure has shared his first hand testimony on television. The government should cease to insult this nation with petulant denials,” he said.
“To the affected governors all over the nation, there is one immediate step to take: demand the withdrawal of those soldiers. Convoke Town Hall meetings as a matter of urgency. 24-hr Curfews are not the solution. Take over the security of your people with whatever resources you can rummage.
“Substitute community self-policing based on Local Councils, to curb hooligan infiltration and extortionist and destructive opportunism. We commiserate with the bereaved and urge state governments to compensate material losses, wherever,” he added.
Soyinka said to “commence any process of healing at all – dare one assume that this is the ultimate destination of desire? – the Army must apologize, not merely to the nation but to the global community – the facts are indisputable – you, the military, opened fire on unarmed civilians. There has to be structured restitution and assurance that such aberrations will not again be recorded.
“Then both governance and its security arms can commence a meaningful, lamentably overdue dialogue with society. Do not attempt to dictate -Dialogue!”

A white woman known as Jessie Joe Jacobs, has revealed that she traced her ancestry to Nigeria years ago and she’s very proud to identify with the West African country.
According to her, a minister during the first Nigerian democracy, Dr. Moses Majekodunmi is her grandfather.
She shared a throwback photo of Majekodunmi and the then prime minister of Nigeria, Alhaji Tafewa Balewa, meeting with JF Kennedy in 1961.
In a post she shared on her Instgram page, Jessie described her grandpa as a very respected politician who survived many military coups that killed a lot of people.
Jessie went further by stating that she is using the black history month to celebrate her granddad, adding that she never got to know about her black history until she was in her teenage years.
She added that when she got to know of her black heritage, she became prouder of herself as she drew inspiration from it.
See her full post below;
This is my Grandpa with JF Kennedy. He was a senior minister in the first Nigerian Democracy after independence and was hosted with Nigeria’s new president at Blair House by JF Kennedy in 1961.
My Grandpa was an incredible man and well respected in Nigeria and across Africa in his role as health minister and leading figure in obstetrics, founding a hospital and even surviving a political coup.
As part of Black History Month, I would like to celebrate and share about my own black history I didn’t grow up knowing very much about my Nigerian history until I got into my teens. I was born and grew up in Teesside in a family who had lived in the area for a a number of generations, originally economic migrants from Ireland, Scotland and as far as Poland. My granddad William Jacobs and his family before him, ran market stalls on Stockton High street.
I always knew I was different, skin slightly darker, hair slightly curlier but I tried hard just to fit in. Learning about my African heritage made a big impact, learning about part of my history that I knew so little about gave me pride and inspiration, enabling me to own more of who I was and am.
This is why Black History Month is important to me, it gives us all a chance to learn more about the parts of black history in Britain that have been hidden; uncover the great achievements, the brilliant people that make up our diverse communities and enabling those communities to find the same pride and inspiration in their history as I found in mine.

It was reported that Oke died as a result of a gunshot wound, but now, his younger brother, Daniel has broken silence to share the gory details of how his brother was stabbed in the neck by thugs.
Read Below;
Good day, My name is Obi-Enadhuze Daniel younger brother of the now deceased Okechukwu Obi-Enadhuze
@O_Okee
I, my brother and mother lived at makinde police barracks, mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos State. Today at about 11 o’clock in the morning…
… the police station at makinde was attacked by thugs who wanted to destroy the station, I my mom and brother were holed up in our house, The attack went on for hours before the thugs eventually breached the police and proceeded to set the station on fire, after accomplishing..
…this they set their sights to the barracks and began the assault, they proceeded to destroy every car in the barracks, my mom’s 2 cars where destroyed and set on fire and then they infiltrated our house by breaking the door…
… they then proceeded to ransack the house and carted away with everything we own, my brother on trying to get them to take everything but spare us was pushed to my mom’s room and stabbed on the neck, the attacker then proceeded to attack me but missed my neck…
…but got my chin instead, after this my mom and I carried my brothers body to the entrance of the station soliciting for help from the thugs still ravaging the barracks, we were finally able to put him in a wheelbarrow and took him to a hospital where he was…
… rejected because “he was already dead” unfazed we moved him to another hospital where he met the same treatment this was where he bled his last drops of blood and died, his body has now been moved to a morgue…
…we have lost every single thing we own, as our house was completely ransacked and set on fire the only thing left is my brothers phone and at about 8 o’clock this evening the barracks was still on fire but Okechukwu has paid with the ultimate price…
…I and my mother are homeless with nothing now but we’re safe for now, we thank everyone that has been able to reach out to us, and were able to share consoling words with us in these trying times, God bless you…
While we were holed up in the house the three of us said these words together and we say it again ” THREE OF US ARE HERE, THREE OF US ARE TOGETHER, THREE OF US ARE SAFE”…
Let it be known that my brother @O_Okee was NOT killed by a police bullet but died a hero protecting my mother and I.
If you see this please retweet, let the world know how Okechukwu died. He was NOT killed by a police bullet but thugs in his home!

“I sympathize with families of the deaths and pray that God will heal the injured.
“However, the sad reality we must face now is that the current situation in our nation is a result of allowing a clearly incompetent man to ascend to the highest office in the land. I saw all these coming and I warned Nigerians. You can’t wear a white robe on a pig.
“Life does not matter to a clueless leader whose only fulfilment is that he is called Mr. President. He cares about no one except himself. That’s why up till now, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has not said a word. Sad.”

Tina Knowles, the mother of popular American singer, Beyonce Knowles has called out Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage for critizing her daughter over the ENDSARS campaign.
She wrote via her IG page;..
Good Morning , I am deeply saddened by the events that happened last night in Lagos! When people lost their lives and were beaten and abused. I understand the injustices that have been going on in Nigeria, it sickens me. SARS came to my attention last week and immediately I posted about it! I had not heard of it before as I have not been following closely Instagram as much as I usually do due to some serious personal family challenges. As a result I have been mostly posting funny things to try to make people smile.
After researching on line I understood that SARS (a special task force supposedly to stop crime) were abusing their power and harassing young people. Very much like what we have been protesting for , here in America. Everyday we are disproportionatly stoped harassed jailed and sometimes killed ! These senseless killings of our black men and women! The brutal treatment of our people by law enforcement ! No knock warrants etc. Of course I guess much of the public does not think we have personal problems in our family . We are supposed to be super human and not have loss, or health issues or personal problems because our sole purpose is supposed to be of service and humility and take as much abuse from the haters as they choose to put on us. No matter what my daughter does she is scrutinized and torn apart! She Makes a record and uses all African artist, producers, writers. She is criticized because She didn’t get artist from every country in Africa there are 52 countries! Then she makes a film that by the way she doesn’t profit a penny off of, because she spent every penny in the budget on making something that celebrates our heritage!
What profiting off of you did she do? She made art!! She is an artist! That is what artist do. She is not your political leader and not your whipping board. They saw a 30 second trailer and critics and couch activist attacked! !!! yes I said it and I meant it! They came out and did their usual thing about her being a culture vulture and saying some of the most ugly and vile things about her that were totally not true and insults galore.
Someone that was on the last project who BTW is in constant contact with her team decided that instead of contacting her team and asking her to post to assist in spreading the word . I am appalled that They would get on social media and do it !! Why not ask the people you are dealing with all the time????? On her team!! I don’t understand that !!! I am sure at the time she was not thinking straight because of the trauma that the country was facing but come on!!!!!! I have had enough of the hating and am personally tired of the attacks. And it is disgusting how people sit behind a computer and talk crap all day and many of them do absolutely nothing else ! It is so easy to post ! Don’t get me wrong posting is very important that’s why I do it every day about social issues. It spreads the word and that is important But everybody has a right to activate in their own way. If we do us , and focus on what WE can do and not expect Beyonce to do exactly what she is told when you tell her to do it! Then we would get it done better.
When I made my post it was not about any group of people and certainly not the Nigerian People ! Only the attackers and haters that no matter what she does you feel entitled to bully someone and take credit for bullying her into making a by a statement !! By the way many people are just posting today because it has gone to the next level after last nights tragic events. Are you critics attacking them? Sorry if I offended anyone just trying to make a statement for change and asking for help ! I was not talking to you ! Those comments were for the rude attackers that rudely ,constantly come for us in a vile and abusive way ! Trying to bully and shame us into submission just like the oppressors. We not your whipping board . I am not here for it! You do not run me and bully me I will fight back. You don’t take credit for bullying her to post ! I pray everyday for Nigeria and all countries that are being abused and murdered for the color of our skin!!! I would do anything to help but stop with the abuse and stop trying to make Her your spokesperson and shaming people for doing things in their own way!!!!

The directive was issued via a police wireless message on Wednesday and seen by TheCable.
This development comes after a two weeks of protests by Nigerians demanding an end to police brutality in the country.
In the directive issued to police zonal commands and which is to take immediate effect, only those attached to government houses, the senate president and the speaker of the house of representatives are exempted.
“Inspector-general of police directs you to withdraw all protect personnel attached to all VIPs, except those attached to government houses, senate president, speaker, house of representatives with immediate effect,” the message read.

In a shift, Pope Francis has voiced his support for same-sex civil unions in a documentary that debuted in Rome today, October 21, 2020.
Speaking about pastoral outreach and care for people who identify as LGBTQ, the pontiff said that he thinks same-sex couples should be allowed to have “civil unions”.
His comments in the documentary directed by Evgeny Afineevsky has been described by observers as his clearest remarks yet on gay relationships.
“Homosexual people have a right to be in a family,” Pope Francis said in the documentary.
“They are children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out or made miserable over it.
“What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered.”
He added that he “stood up for that”, apparently referring to his time as Archbishop of Buenos Aires when, although opposing same-sex marriages in law, he supported some legal protections for same-sex couples.
The film Francesco, about the life and work of Pope Francis, premiered as part of the Rome Film Festival.
As well as the Pope’s comments on civil unions, the film also shows him encouraging two gay men to attend church with their three children.
Pope Francis’s biographer, Austen Ivereigh, told the BBC he was “not surprised” by the latest comments.
“This was his position as Archbishop of Buenos Aires,” said Mr Ivereigh. “He was always opposed to marriage being for same-sex couples. But he believed the church should advocate for a civil union law for gay couples to give them legal protection.”

After my short statement about Nigeria already last week I’m now even more shocked about how the situation there has got more and more out of control. This saddens me so much. This has absolutely nothing to do with democracy.
It is more like a military rule and it’s a violation of human rights at the highest order. President@mbuhari and the Nigerian Army, stop killing peaceful young protesters. Stop killing the people you are supposed to protect.
The protesters didn’t ask for war, just for a better Nigeria. #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria #EndSARS

Senate minority leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has disclosed that, he will be putting out names of five ‘most notorious’ officers of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force.
Abaribe stated this in response to Senator Biodun Olujimi’s motion on the #EndSARS protests and the need for comprehensive police reforms in the country.
According to him, the only solution to the country’s problem, is for the President to look at the issues and address the nation on them.
In his words,
I support this motion. I think part of what is going to resolve this issue is for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to look at the issue and address the nation on them.
I will also forward to you (the Senate) the names of the five most notorious SARS Officers who have been fingered in killing so many Nigerians.
I suggest also that in doing that, he (Buhari) must try a way of setting up a judicial panel that will have people that are well respected by the same youth so that they can address a certain issue and that issue is those notorious SARS officers that have been identified and even identified by the Presidential Panel.
