Farmer allegedly murders Okada rider and sells off his motorcycle for N120,000 in Gombe (photo)
A farmer in Gombe state, Ephraim Kadiri, 37, pictured, has been apprehended by the state’s police command for the alleged murder of an Okada rider and selling off his motorcycle in Billiri, a community in the state.
Shehu Maikudi, the state Commissioner of Police, who paraded the suspect before newsmen on Thursday, September 17, stated that the suspect was arrested in a hotel he lodged after selling off the motorcycle.
“He (Kadiri) was the one, who almost caused mayhem for us yesterday (Wednesday) in Billiri after killing a commercial motorcyclist and stealing his motorcycle.
Restive youths in Billiri thought we were not doing enough and attempted to attack the police station. We had to deploy our men there; the Area Commander had to speak to the youth as well as engage the stakeholders in the town to calm the situation.
Policemen were later deployed to Cham, where the suspect was arrested in a hotel, but he had sold the motorcycle at Laraban Lamurde.”the Commissioner said
The police chief also paraded a 21-year-old SS3 pupil, Babayo Yahaya, who was allegedly caught with 107 tramadol capsules and 59 sachets of Exole and N400,000 used to bribe the police.
“Babayo Yahaya was arrested based on credible intelligence. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to be a dealer in illicit substances for over two years in Gombe and environs,” Yahaya said

Missing teenage girl found in a hotel with two boys
A 17-year-old-girl, identified as Anyasodo Lemachi Genevieve who was recently reported missing, has been found in a hotel room with two boys.
A Facebook user, Annastecia Mary Lyon who shared the story on the platform noted that Genevieve left home for more than three days and all effort to find her proved abortive.
According to Lyon who claimed the missing girl worked for her, stated that she was wrongly accused of knowing Genevieve’s whereabouts, adding that her other apprentices were also arrested by the police after Genevieve went missing.
It was learnt that the missing girl was found after one week of leaving home.
Genevieve was found in a hotel after she was said to have been lodged in the hotel alongside the two boys for one week.
She wrote,
“The young girl was found with 2 boys. We passed through all that for a 17year old girl who went to enjoy her life. Lodged in hotels and had mad fun, with 2 guys oo. Ibadan Court dissolves 21-year-old marriage over wife’s refusal to cook for her husband, children
A Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday, September 17, dissolved a 21-year-old marriage between a painter, Ojo Ayeni and his wife, Sade, over her refusal to cook food for her family for two years.
Ayeni had earlier approached the court to dissolve the union, alleging that wife stopped cooking for him and his three children in 2018.
While testifying, Ayeni said that anytime he reported her to her parents and family members, Sade never took him seriously.
“My lord, the problem even worsened when Sade started mocking me whenever she sees me cooking for the children. In fact, she now returns home very late in the night and has caused great division in the home. I have developed a High Blood Pressure as a result and I would not want to resolve to self-help,” ayeni said.
Responding, Sade, objected to the divorce suit and denied some of the allegations leveled against her.
“Yes. I admit that I stopped cooking my husband’s meals because he accused me of trying to poison the food,” Sade said.
Delivering judgment, Odunade, dissolved the union in the interest of peace. He granted custody of the first child to Ayeni and the last two to Sade.
The court ordered the petitioner Ojo to pay N10,000 as monthly feeding allowance.
Over 200 prisoners allegedly escape prison after jail break in Uganda
Over 200 inmates have allegedly escaped prison and ran away with guns and ammunition in uganda after jail break on Wednesday, in Uganda.
According to report, the jailbreak occurred on Wednesday afternoon, near the army barracks in the district of Moroto in northeast Uganda.
It was alleged that the prisoners overpowered the guards and ran away with guns and ammunition.
Ugandan prison commissioner, Johnson Byabashaija confirmed the incident adding that police and the army have been deployed to recapture the prisoners on the run.
He disclosed to AFP on Thursday September 16th, that the prisoners overpowered their guards and escaped with weapons after a shootout.
He said,
“The prisoners seized guns from the armoury at a government prison in Moroto, about 460km from Kampala, before dashing for the cover of nearby mountains.
“About 215 inmates are still on the run. Uganda’s prison service, working with the police and the army with support from ground and air assets, have been deployed to rearrest the inmates.
“There is concern that some guns are in the wrong hands, but these will be recaptured. We have enough forces on the ground and helicopters to track them. The public is advised to stay calm.
“One inmate was shot during the escape, three others were recaptured, but the rest are at large, having escaped towards Mount Moroto where our operation is focusing at the moment.”
“Some of the inmates had shed their bright yellow jumpsuits to avoid aerial detection and were on foot half-naked”.He added.
Veteran Actor, Jimoh Aliu Dies At Age 85
Veteran Nollywood actor, Jimoh Aliu has been confirmed dead. The thespian was said to have died at the age of 85 years old.
Announcing the sad news on Instagram, Nollywood actor and producer, Kunle Afod wrote;
“Just heard the news now.. Chief Jimoh Aliu died some mins ago.. May his soul rest in peace”
This comes 10 days after Late Baba Sala’s son, Adejumo Boisala Emmanuel took to Facebook to announce the demise of popular veteran Yoruba actor, Babalegba who died at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State after a long time illness.
Also yesterday, Veteran Nollywood actress, Louisa Nwobodo died at the age of 78.
Louisa Nwobodo passed on after she was said to have slumped in her car at St. Mulumbas Catholic Church, New haven, Enugu.
It was learnt that she was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead. Her corpse has been deposited at the morgue pending conclusion of her burial arrangement.

A little boy from Imo State has become an internet sensation after he locally manufactured an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) that dispensed cash.
The little genius was filmed powering the makeshift ATM, he then pushed some buttons, inserted something that looks like an ATM card and the machine began dispensing money.
It is still unclear what he used in ‘constructing’ the local Automated Teller Machine but the sheer skill and craft to have come up with something like that has wowed social media users.

Actress, Patience Ozokwor receives car gift from her children as birthday present

Popular Nigerian teen comedians, Ikorodu Bois have challenged the billionaire’s daughter, DJ Cuppy to a race in their custom made “Ferraris”.
The young boys, who are famous for recreating scenes and moments from blockbuster movies using limited resources recreated the Otedola’s Ferrari announcement.
Recall that DJ Cuppy shared a major announcement that her father, Femi Otedola took his girls shopping and purchased new Ferrari Portofino for each of them.
Ikorodu boiz got three wheelbarrows and painted them in brown, blue and pink colours. They also attached an imitation of the Ferrari logo representing the Otedola girls’ new luxury cars.
The boys posed in front of the “Ferraris” with one on black wig, representing Temi Otedola and another on a pink wig, representing DJ cuppy.

Reacting to this, ex-aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, have taken to Instagram to urge Nigerians to appreciate the little their fathers have done.
According to the author and lawyer, no father is less than the billionaire businessman despite getting such expensive gift for his three daughters.
He wrote,
“Your father is not less than Femi Otedola because he did not buy you a Ferrari. Otedola is a billionaire.
“The cost of 3 Ferraris is less than 1% of his net worth. If your father spent 5% of his net worth educating you, then your father did more than Otedola. Remember the account of the widow’s mite? Don’t just look at the amount. Rather, look at the sacrifice. $1 million is chicken change to a billionaire. “$10,000 is a sacrifice to a working man. Go home and appreciate your father. He did what Otedola has not done!”

A Nigerian man, Oluwadamilare Dauda has taken to social media to reveal that he bought bicycles as gifts for his cute little girls.
The Twitter user said this in reaction to the news of celebrity sisters Tolani, Florence (DJ Cuppy) and Temi getting Ferrari gifts, each from their billionaire father, Femi Otedola.
Dauda shared a photo of his little girls on the bicycles and and said although he cannot afford a Ferrari, he was able to buy what he could afford.
“Not Otedola but I got bicycle for my girls. Ferrari loading.” the proud father wrote.

Recall that the Otedolas shook the internet yesterday after their billionaire father, Femi Otedola took the celebrity sisters, Tolani, Florence (DJ Cuppy) and Temi and got them a Ferrari car as gift.

Kidnapper Narrates How He Organised Kidnap Of Neighbor’s Wife, 8-Month-Old Son
A neighbor to one Aliyu Suleiman, resident of More in Yulde Pate, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State identified as Buba Mohammed popularly known as Mallam has narrated how he connived with a syndicate of kidnappers from Taraba and Adamawa to kidnap Aishatu and her 8 months child.
This confession was made by Buba while he was being paraded by Adamawa Commissioner of Police, CP Olubenga Adeyanju at the command headquarters.
Buba disclosed that a herdsman named Wakili approached him to have a deal of kidnapping his neighbour’s wife saying that his brother who is a top government official in the state will cough out millions of naira as ransom.
Buba also revealed that he was the one organising and telling them the situation of things during negotiations while giving details of how he connived with the group of unknown four people.
He said the kidnappers on coming to the residence of his neighbour, Aliyu ran away and advised them to kidnap the wife and her eight months son telling them that they will get enough money from the pending deal.
Mohammed while responding to our correspondent, he revealed that he was the one monitoring the happenings around and calling them on phone with the appropriate situation reports.
He confessed to newsmen that the family of Aliyu has been good to him but the devil deceived him to perpetrate the act.
“Honestly, I don’t know them and I don’t know where they have taken them to. All they say was that they will give me money and it was sixty thousand naira of the one million, ten thousand naira they collected as ransom.
“I’m pleading for Mercy, it’s the work of the devil, I don’t really know what has come over me,” he confessed.
Narrating his ordeals, Aliyu said it’s really bad to see Buba aka Mallam who is perceived as a good neighbour do such thing to his family.
He said “the ugly experience of the fateful day of 11th July 2020 can’t be erased in his mind, the kidnappers actually stormed my house to search for me.
Suleiman said what baffled him the most is during the ongoing negotiations to secure his wife and son, the kidnappers tell them exactly what they have agreed to do as a family even before they reached out to them.
“From today, I now understand doing good to people is a serious crime,” he added.
CP Olubenga told journalists that it took them months to arrest them as they don’t stay in one place and the arms dealer who is providing them with arms and ammunition is being trailed.
