I have no doubt that there are some staff of SARS who are unprofessional in their dealings with d public, same way we have unprofessionalism in d Army, Mainstream Police, Customs, Civil Service, Public Service, traders, Lawyers, Doctors, journalists, teachers, pastors, etc.

A Nigerian man identified as one Kingsley Ekene Eze, has been exonerated three years after the family of his deceased wife, Blessing Eze, accused him of beating her to death.

Eze was apprehended and sent to prison where he spent nine months. According to a report by The Sun, Mrs Eze, a teacher at Shalom Academy, Nsukka, slumped in the school’s staff room on May 15, 2017, after she had finished conducting the morning assembly.
She was thereafter rushed to Akulue Hospital, near the school. After several tests were conducted on her, the medical director of the hospital informed Mr. Eze that his wife was down with stroke.
Mr Eze in an interview said as her condition got worse, she was referred to Parklane Hospital, Enugu. But there was no bed space at Parklane. And she was moved to Ntasiobi Hospital, yet there was no improvement.
“I became apprehensive. The next day, I went to Memphis Hospital, where another test was conducted. The doctor there told me that her case could not be handled at Ntasiobi, and he advised an urgent transfer.
After being transferred to Memphis, again, my medical adviser told me to transfer her to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu. But Memphis refused to refer her to UNTH. It was a fierce battle between me and the medical doctors at Memphis. Eventually, they gave me a bill of more than N500,000.
After two days at UNTH, the doctor told me that she would be referred to Memphis because the surgical operation she needed could only be done at Memphis. When I got to Memphis, they asked me to pay N2 million for the operation – N1 million deposit and the balance within 48 hours. I rallied round for the N1 million from relatives, friends and colleagues.” he said

Eze said his brother-in-law, Chinedu, gave him N30,000 while his mother-in-law also gave him N50,000.
“When I went back to the hospital the following day with Chinedu, the doctor told me that my wife was gone. But what baffled me was that he couldn’t allow me to see her corpse.
I went back to clear my bills, so that I could bury my wife, but the hospital staff were not forthcoming. I became furious with the doctors, having suffered so much. I confronted one of them and demanded that my wife’s corpse be released to me. Surprisingly, the doctor told me that my wife was still alive. He even took me to the intensive care unit (ICU) where she was, and I confirmed that she was still alive, though unconscious.
They continued with the treatment, but, sadly three days later, she died. That was June 25, 2017.
All these happened in the presence of Chinedu, her brother. We took her corpse back to our community. We, including Chinedu, deposited her corpse at Faith Foundation Hospital, Nsukka. Memphis gave me a bill of N750,000 to pay. I could not clear everything. I had to write an undertaking that I would pay the outstanding N750,000 after her burial.
We informed both the immediate and extended family of her death and fixed a date for her burial. It was to take place on June 30, 2017. All the drinks to be used for her burial were bought from my father-in-law and I paid a better part of the money. His truck was hired to convey those drinks to my house for the ceremony.”
Eze said he got the shock of his life when just a day to the funeral of his late wife, her family members alleged that she died from the injuries sustained from the severe beating he gave her. Eze said he was arrested and thrown into a cell.
He said he was subsequently taken to the police station in Nsukka, where he was detained for two days. With that development, the burial ceremony was automatically cancelled. Two days later, Eze said he was taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Enugu and was later charged to court and subsequently remanded in Enugu prisons, where he stayed for nine months.
He said that while he was in prison, all efforts to get him released by one Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Simeon Ugwueze who was then the director of Justice and Peace in the diocese, proved abortive.
He said his family members then filed a case in court to challenge his detention. The bereaved husband claimed that the judge ruled that anyone who believed that Eze was responsible for his wife’s death should come forward to prosecute the case but nobody showed up, and the case was subsequently withdrawn from court.
When interviewed, the mother of his deceased wife, Mrs Edith Ugwu, said her family later discovered that their son-in-law was innocent of all the allegations against him. She blamed members of their extended family for deceiving them to believe their son-in-law had a hand in their daughter’s death. Mrs Ugwu apologised to Mr Eze for the pain and embarrassment he had been subjected to.
“When my husband was sick, Eze bankrolled all the medical expenses. He has been so nice to us. It was our extended family members who deceived us into accusing him of killing his wife, my daughter. Even before my husband died, he called us together and told us that Eze was innocent of those allegations against him. Before Eze was arrested, I did all I could to make them reason with me that he was innocent, but they wouldn’t listen. We, therefore, apologized to Eze for all the allegations we levelled against him,” she said.
Also speaking, the brother of late Mrs Eze, Chinedu, explained that members of the family were indeed lured into accusing Mr Eze of killing his wife. He recalled how his father, a few months before his death, came to realise that the family members were deceived into accusing Eze of murdering his own wife.
“My father, however, told us to make peace with Eze and apologise to him,” Chinedu said.

In new reports, a 15-year-old girl identified as Aliyah Kuti, pictured, has been declared missing in Lagos.

According to the aunt of the missing girl, Jumoke, Aliyah has been missing since 3rd of September. Jumoke stated that on that very day, Aliyah was sent on an errand by her parents but she refused to go and they rebuked her for her disobedience.
Ms. Jumoke said it was when she was sent on a second errand that she left their house situated at 4/6 Aliu street in Lagos Island and never returned.
She is my niece. She has been missing now for over three weeks. Wednesday this week will make it a month.
What happened was that they sent her to go and buy something but she didn’t go. The mum and dad rebuked her for that and then they later asked her to go and get them another thing. That was the last time we heard of her.
We went to her friends because she doesn’t have outside friends apart from the ones in school. We went to meet them. We begged them. My instinct is telling me those girls know where she is. I saw them on Saturday and they were asking me if she hasn’t returned and I told them if she had come back wouldn’t they see her in school? One of them told me to go that she would soon come back when she is hungry.

This is a girl that has not left home before. We didn’t see any traces of absonding in her. She is a cool headed girl. She is not troublesome or outspoken.
The mistake the mum did was that she collected her phone. The mum said when she wanted to send her on another errand she asked her to bring the phone. When we went to report at the police station, the DPO said assuming the phone was with her, they can track her down.
The aunt who spoke with LIB, stated that the case has since been reported at the Adeniji Adele police station and that efforts are being made to find her.

Naira, giving details of the protest stated that the event would hold on Tuesday, with some police officers in attendance.
He tweeted,
“Protesting is never a disturbance of the peace. Corruption, injustice, war and intimidation are disturbances of the peace, Peaceful protest, Peaceful revolution.
“So on Tuesday, we got some SARS coming out with us. The ones that claim to only come out for big operations and not the dirty works on the road they are coming out to show support and to answer some questions, we also got some police officers and soldiers joining the protest.
“Don’t forget guys just in case you see any SARS or any forces there on Tuesday don’t start any fight. We are allowed to ask questions? But remember no fight, no vandalism. Peaceful protest. Thanks”. He added

A Black man identified as Jonathan Price was shot and killed by a Wolfe City police officer — this comes only months after he condemned Black Lives Matter protesters and stated that White police officers have never harassed him.

The family of Jonathan Price reveal that he was fatally shot during an officer-involved shooting in Wolfe City on Saturday, October 3, while he was breaking up a fight.
Authorities said an investigation is underway into the officer-involved shooting in Wolfe City.
The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting and the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is completed.

After report of his death went viral, people went to dig up his old post where he questioned the efforts of Black Lives Matter protesters and stated that White people have done more for him than his own family. He also stated that he is addicted to White women.
He called the conversation about race and colour “BS” as Black Lives Matter protesters took to the street to protest against police brutality after the murder of George Floyd.
He added that White police officers have stopped him multiple times and they let him go.

Some Black women have stated that they won’t be marching to protest his killing.
A black woman shared a screenshot of his post defending white cops and captioned it: “Imagine posting this and then be killed by the police.”

Price’s family said he was at an Exxon gas station when he saw a confrontation between a man and a woman. He then tried to break it up, and an officer pulled up.
Price’s family said the officer may have thought the two men were fighting. A Taser was deployed, and then the officer fired shots, Price’s family said.
Price was reportedly shot multiple times and died from his injuries.
Since the shooting, people have been posting about Price, saying he was a mentor who worked for the city. Those who were at the scene have said he was doing the right thing.
Price’s family said a vigil will be held Monday, October 5, at 7 p.m.
Big Brother Naija: Lockdown housemate, Ozoemena Joseph Chukwu has said the ban the Federal Government and Inspector General of Police imposed on the infamous sect of the Nigeria n Police Force, SARS (Special Anti Robbery Squad) isn’t going to change anything.

Over the weekend, Nigerians had stormed social media to air their displeasure over the incessant robbery, killing, extortion and harassment by officials of the SARS in places in the West, East and Southern side of the country.
Celebrities like Davido, Wizkid, Banky W, P-Square and a few others also lent their voices as they beckoned on the government to put a stop to the operation of SARS before they things get way out of hand.
In light of the protests on social media, the FG and IGP on Sunday afternoon announced the ban of operations by officials of SARS. In a statement released on social media, it was said,
“The inspector-general of police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has banned the personnel of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) and other Tactical Squads of the Force including the Special Tactical Squad (STS), Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Anti-Cultism Squad and other Tactical Squads operating at the Federal, Zonal and Command levels, from carrying out routine patrols and other conventional low-risk duties – stop and search duties, checkpoints, mounting of roadblocks, traffic checks, etc – with immediate effect,”
This caused for subtle rejoicing by a lot of Nigerians who had high hopes that the ban will curb the nefarious operations of the said NPF personnel. However, Big Brother Naija: Lockdown housemate, Ozo doesn’t seem to think the ban will do much as he feels the whole Nigerian Police Force is in need of a total reform.
According to him, the FG and IGP might have banned “SARS” as a unit but the people that were in it will just be given a different division and then it will be back to square-one. He wrote on his page,
SARS is not just a set of people .
Sars is a mindset , it’s an emotion dressed up by men in a police uniform. 80percent of the police men share this emotion
ENDING Sars doesn’t stop this mind set. All they have to do is give them another patrol name.. the emoton continuesThe whole police force needs a reform.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has taken to social media to share what transpired between himself and his estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu.

In a series of tweets, FFK revealed that he endured his marriage to Precious for seven years for the sake of his children.
He further stated he decided to break silence because his hands were forced, adding that those involved in the alleged smear campaign about his marriage are begging for
further response which he won’t give in to.

He tweeted,
“I have chosen to take the high horse and I refuse to allow my estranged wife to turn the affairs of my personal life into a public circus. If she has any issues let her use the right medium as a responsible adult and mother and stop secretly feeding the media with damaging scandals geared towards the destruction of our children’s future.
“I have kept quite in order to protect my children, I have covered all her madness over the past 7 years & not once did I expose her. But the facts are there & the witnesses & evidence are readily available for the courts. I broke my silence yesterday only because my hand has been forced. Rather than focusing on the problem of brutality & evil plaguing our country, or the myriad of other issues holding citizens hostage, some people would prefer to spread and partake in what amounts to celebrity gossip & chopped videos. Who in Nigeria does this benefit? What is the use?
“Those involved in this smear campaign are begging for further responses which I will not give them. My private relationship & any disagreements therein are just that: PRIVATE & I have learned my lesson on feeding into parasocial media culture. My children & their dignity comes first & I refuse to help these individuals tarnish their image any further. The ringleader of this media scandal and his/her collaborators may continue polluting news sites & blogs with spam & begging for crumbs of attention with wild tales as long as they wish.
“Acting is a professional field all on its own but thankfully so is law. Any & all videos, testimonies, documentation & other evidence coming from my end will only be displayed in court, where this issues can be resolved once and for all. If this person speaks the truth, they will be happy to meet me there, instead of peddling stories. My next tweets and posts will be focused solely on relevant issues. Thank you.

The deceased kids have been identified as Yusuf, 5 and 3-year-old Zahra’u.

Lagos State Police Command have arrested two operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) Inspector Sale James, Inspector Monday Uchiola and their civilian accomplice Okechukwu Ogbonna, for acts of professional misconduct including extortion and intimidation of innocent citizens.

Force spokesperson, DCP Frank Mba, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday, October 4, said the operational vehicle of the men has also been impounded and disciplinary procedure has already commenced against the defaulters.
“The IGP reaffirms his commitment to bequeathing to Nigerians, a reformed Police Force that is accountable, responsible and ever ready to defend and uphold the rights of the citizens while discharging its duties of keeping the people safe and secure,” said Mba.
He enjoined the citizens not to allow the misconduct by a few personnel of the Force to negatively impact on their belief, confidence and trust in the Police.

Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), has banned operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), the Special Tactical Squad (STS) and Intelligence Response Team (IRT) from undertaking routine patrols as well as stop and search duties.
Frank Mba, police spokesman, disclosed the directive of the IGP in a statement on Sunday.
The directive is coming in the wake of an outrage over alleged criminal and extra-judicial actions of FSARS officers against citizens in various parts of the country.
In the statement, Mba said the IGP also directed that no officer should embark on a patrol in mufti.
“The inspector-general of police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has banned the personnel of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) and other Tactical Squads of the Force including the Special Tactical Squad (STS), Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Anti-Cultism Squad and other Tactical Squads operating at the Federal, Zonal and Command levels, from carrying out routine patrols and other conventional low-risk duties – stop and search duties, checkpoints, mounting of roadblocks, traffic checks, etc – with immediate effect,” he said.
“The IGP has warned the Tactical Squads against the invasion of the privacy of citizens particularly through indiscriminate and unauthorized search of mobile phones, laptops and other smart devices.
“They are to concentrate and respond only to cases of armed robbery, kidnapping and other violent crimes when the need arises.”
Mba quoted Adamu as saying FSARS and other police tactical squads remain “a critical component of the Force in confronting prevailing and emerging violent crimes in the country”.
“He however condemns every act of unprofessionalism, abuse of human rights and high-handedness by some personnel of the Squads,” the force public relations officer said.
“He has therefore ordered the X-Squad and the Monitoring Unit to embark on immediate and massive nationwide monitoring of activities of Tactical Squads and other police officers on the road.
“They are to ensure prompt arrest, investigation and prosecution of all erring police officers who violate these directives and other extant regulations of the Force.
“The IGP has equally warned that henceforth, the Commissioner of Police in charge of FSARS, Commissioners of Police in charge of State Commands and the FCT as well as their supervisory Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police, will be held liable for any misconduct within their Area of Responsibility (AOR).”
The police spokesman said two FSARS officers and one civilian accomplice have been arrested in Lagos for professional misconduct.
“Two operatives of the FSARS and their civilian accomplice operating in Lagos State, INSPR Sale James, INSPR Monday Uchiola and Okechukwu Ogbonna, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command, for acts of professional misconduct including extortion and intimidation of innocent citizens,” he said.
“The operational vehicle of the men has also been impounded and disciplinary procedure has already commenced against the defaulters.”
Media personality, Harri Obi has spoken against the pressure the BBNaija celebrity status exerts on its contestants in the aftermath of the reality show.

Harri Obi in his tweets, alleged that he’s heard of former BBNaija housemates begging for N100k jobs and sleeping around to maintain the lifestyle.
He further averred that when the reality show ends, the housemates are always in a silent competition to outdo each other.
Read below ;
The BBN celebrity status is too fickle and exerts unnecessary pressure on someone who only 90 days back trekked to the audition venue. I’ve heard of former HMs that are in the DMs of every brand begging for N100k jobs, and others that sleep around to maintain the lifestyle.
You’re an ordinary person, you get on the show for 90 days & all of a sudden people expect you to be flying private jets, driving Tesla, dinning at Sheraton & rocking Gucci. It’s why when people tell me to go for BBN, I just laugh. Societal expectations are killing your faves.
I once overheard a mentor, the ceo of a big PR Agency in Nigeria, say the biggest mistake you’d ever make as a young person is letting yourself get drawn into the Nigerian celebrity vortex. It will chew and spit you out before you know what’s going on.
As soon as HMs leave the house, there is a silent but loud competition to outdo each other; who’s getting the biggest endorsements? Who’s driving the best cars? Who’s traveling the most? Etc. No one is sitting down and planning their next move. It’s all noise and PR.
A former HM from last season said she was broke and abandoned, Anto said something about being under pressure, Ahneeka wants fans to stop telling her how to live her life and Lucy shared the same sentiments days back. Nobody is teaching these younglings how to be celebrities.
Or should we talk about the intense withdrawal symptoms, how the validity of your fame only lasts 365 days and as soon as the next set of new HMs are announced, your depression skyrockets. I wish these new guys goodluck. They don’t understand the world they’ve been thrown into.
