Nigerian actress,Kemi Lala Akindoju has reacted to the Pastor David Ibiyeomie and Daddy Freeze saga, which has triggered a lot of controversy on the Nigerian media space.
Recall that the clergyman verbally assaulted the media personality. He called him a “bastard” and issued out threats at Daddy Freeze for always insulting his spiritual father, Bishop David Oyedepo.
Lala Akindoju has condemned the actions of the pastor as absolutely wrong. She also expressed her shock at the members of the congregation who also hurled insults.
“Meanwhile I just watched the video of that pastor. It is wrong, SO WRONG! First as a supposed christian, then as leader and finally as a human being. I’m even more shocked at the congregation echoing the insults.
“Please that is not what the Bible preaches, this is why it is important to know God for yourself, read your bible yourself and don’t get blinded by religion.
“I am very ashamed for him only because he has misrepresented the gospel of Jesus. Proverbs 18 is a good scripture to meditate on today. Selah!”
Nigeria artiste, Mayorkun has written a cryptic message on his snapchat addressing an unnamed person.
It might seem the DMW signee is not pleased with someone in the music industry as he took to his snapchat to issue a note of caution to people who drag people down in order to shine.

Alaafin of Oyo’s wife, Queen Ola has fueled the rumours about her divorce to the traditional monarch in a post she shared on social media.
According to Queen Ola in a post she shared on Instagram, it is okay to break up and divorce if one of the parties is not happy or appreciated.

A Nigerian man on has said that not every disqualified housemate from Big Brother Naija, BBNaija reality show turns out successful like Tacha.
According to the man identified as Danny Walter on Twitter, stated that, Tacha became the standard and a ray of hope because she became successful against all odds.
Backing his opinion, he mentioned the likes of Khloe and Kbrule who were disqualified from the show but are not as successful as Tacha.
“Not every disqualified housemate turns out successful like Tacha. Khloe and Kbrule were disqualified. No one uses them as yardstick. The only reason Tacha is used as a ray of hope for Erica fans is because Tacha became successful against all odds. Tacha is the standard”.

Kemen: I’d start this list with Kemen who was disqualified from the show after a video surfaced where he was seen sexually harassing TBoss, while she was asleep.
K.Brule: He was an interesting housemate in the third season of the show, but his strategic pairing with Khloe proved an undoing – for both parties. K.Brule got a second strike following Khloe’s use of “strong abusive curse words”. Well, he eventually got himself disqualified after receiving a third strike for using “strong threatening words and attempting to physically harm a fellow housemate”.
Khloe: Okay, since K.Brule made the list, she obviously comes next. Like we said earlier, the pair both got strikes each to get themselves eventually disqualified from the show.
Erica: A newcomer on this list, Erica was disqualified following her verbal abuse on Laycon after yesterday Biggie organization decided to disqualify her for breaking the house rule.

Evicted Big Brother Naija housemate, Tolanibaj, who grew up in America, has spoken on why she decided to relocate to Nigeria.
TolaniBaj exited the popular reality show and she speaks with Legit.ng on her time in the house among other things.
In the interview Tbaj answered a question that had been on the minds of a lot of people which is about why she decided to leave America and come back to Nigeria.
According to the young lady, she felt that Nigeria was the perfect place for her to become a boss and that she knew she would be great in the country.
Tolani said that she had always dreamt about becoming a boss and that she did not see herself building anything in America from start to finish.
In her words: “I moved back to Nigeria because I want to be a boss, I’ve always dreamt about being a boss. I did not see myself building anything in America from start to finish. It was only Nigeria that I believe that if I want to have a house, I can build it myself, if I want to build a brand, its Nigeria that I can start from scratch and be somebody and I just always knew that it was Nigeria that I would become great. I got connected to people quickly, people ready to work with me, people ready to build something with me. So I’m just like I can come here, leverage on it and become someone successful so I took the chance, took the risk and here I am today.”
Also in the interview, Tolani spoke on her relationship with Prince. She revealed her love for chocolaty men and added that Prince was someone she could have a conversation with about many interesting things.
Tolani also said that she does not blame her eviction on her team because they kept her in the house till week six.
She also said that she did not really have a strategy in the house except to be herself and to sell her brand.
An undergraduate of University of Benin, Chinenye Promise Nwoye has died after she was allegedly strangled by a suspected ritualist in a hotel room at Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra state.
According to Anambra Broadcasting Service Radio, the young lady is believed to be a victim of scammers or kidnappers who lured her into the hotel for ritual purposes on August 27, 2020.
On the day she was killed, she was allegedly lured to the hotel by her killers. While she was there, she made a phone call to her family members to inform them that she was in danger and needed her ATM pin number to free herself from “kidnappers”.
Her mother, Mrs. Chinyere Nwoye and a member of her family fellowship, Brother Jude Okoye, narrated how they rushed to the hotel shortly after the deceased called them but it was too late.
The bereaved mother recounting the incident said,
“I had immediately dressed up and left for the said hotel with a family fellowship member. On arrival, we met some boys outside the hotel. When I asked the receptionist about my daughter’s whereabouts, they started checking for the booked rooms and overheard her telling one boy to give her the keys to room 57 and 58 and on refusal, the attendant sought for a spare key with which she opened the room and screamed out loud to everyone’s hearing ‘These people have killed somebody ooo.
“I now ran upstairs and was shocked to see my daughter naked, lying face down with her hands and legs tied with her own clothes. From the clothes and the sandals, I knew it was my daughter. When the fellowship member with me started raising alarm, they now called the Police from Abagana Police Divison who came and took the body away.
She further noted that, police officers from Abagana Divisional Police Station took the corpse to Bekee Hospital Mortuary Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area.
Mrs. Chinyere Nwoye and Jude Okoye accused the hotel management of complicity in Chinenye Nwoye’s painful death through their actions and/or inactions. They called on government and human rights groups to unveil the killers.
In her words,
“I did not waste any time in getting there, so there was no reason to kill my daughter. That hotel is a ritual place, and all of them know what happened to my daughter. It was even surprising that none of our kinsmen wanted to hear anything from me even when I went to tell them my story. That is why I am calling on government and human rights group to look into this matter and bring the killers of my daughter to book. This is a promising young girl that her life has just been terminated.”
A Nigerian couple, identified as Olawumi Adewale and Tobi, who started dating after the man sent a creative and unconventional email in an attempt to woo the lady, have gotten married.
Tobi met Olawumi and had a special liking for her, so he decided to ask her out via email. He sent an application letter to be her “Best Paddy” via email and highlighted his best qualities. He requested for a response before he would also highlight the qualities which attracted him to her.

Popular Danish humantarian worker, Anja Ringgren Loven on Tuesday, celebrated three years since she and her team rescued a young girl who was about to be burnt to death after being accused of witchcraft in Eket, Akwa Ibom.
Anja shared a before and after photos of the young girl and said although the scars on her body will never go away, the young girl has undergone a tremendous personal development and recovery after struggling with low self esteem, sadness and physical pain.

“On the 8 of August 2018 I shared the story of Queen. At that time she had been with us for 1 year,” she wrote.
So today Queen has been with us for exactly 3 years. Queen’s story is very horrible. David Emmanuel Umem and our team rescued her just before she was burned to death. Queen was very terrified and weak when she came to Land of Hope after several treatments at the hospital. 70% of her body were burned and she was in so much pain
The scars on her body will never go away. It´s a constant reminder of the attack.
And it has not been easy for Queen to overcome her challenges and regain her strenghth. After her rescue she isolated herself in her room and struggled with social and communication problems.
Queen had trouble connecting with the other children at Land of Hope, making friends and understanding what was expected of her in social situations. All as a result of her being attacked and abused.

A woman, simply identified as Lufuno has allegedly stabbed her fiancee, Katlego Vura Sono to death on Sunday, September 6, in Meadowlands, a suburb of Soweto, Gauteng Province.
Family members and Friends of the deceased took to Facebook to mourn the unfortunate loss of the young man.
Sharing photos of the deceased on Facebook, one Ray Horace wrote:
“We lost a soldier. Mara Lana ai. She took our dear brother, friend’s life just like that.”
An unidentified person posted their picture and wrote,
“Here is another GBV case in Meadowlands, this time it is the woman (Lufuno) that stabbed her fiancee (Katlego) to death, in the wee hours of this morning. RIP, Vura”
The Ogun state government have announced that all students have been given automatic promotion to the next class, including automatic placement for primary 6 students in public primary schools into JSS1 of public secondary schools.
The state government have said schools should reopen on September 21st for the first term of 2020/2021 session, after they have been closed for five months to curb the spread of COVID-19.
This was made known in a statement by Kunle Somorin, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun, on Monday.
He noted that the reopening of schools is extended to all classes in primary and secondary schools, technical and vocational colleges, and tertiary Institutions of learning.
However, as part of COVID-19 guidelines, schools hours would be in batches for public schools.
Pupils in Primary one to three will be in school from 8am to 11am; while those in Primary 4 to 6 will be in classes from 12 noon to 3pm.
For those in secondary schools, the hours are shared in the same manner among those in junior and senior classes.
According to Somorin, technical and Vocational will operate their normal school hours of 8am to 2pm.
He maintained that Early Child Care Development and Education classes for infants from 3 to 5 years of age will not be resuming in public schools until the next phase of schools reopening.
A family of six comprising of a man, his wife, and their four children lost their lives after the building they reside in, collapsed at Yaldu in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi state.
According to reports, the building came crumbling after many days of rainfall in the area.
The family who were in the building when it collapsed, all perished and have since been buried according to Islamic injunctions.
In other news, A Nigerian man identified as Muhammed Mubarak recently took to his Facebook page to share photos of the pathetic state of Bayan Tsaha Model primary school in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, where pupils sit on bare floor.
Sharing the photos, he wrote,
“Earlier this morning I went to a school bayan tsaha model primary school near mechanical village birnin Kebbi metropolises, Kebbi State. This is one of the primary school in the area, at first I thought this building is obsolete, but I was told that it’s serviceable .

African Bad Girl, Tiwa Savage, has reflected on her struggling days, how she was so broke and had to live in a shelter for drug addicts in Brooklyn, New York.
She shared the story at a surprise party organised by her friends and family for her “Celia” album launch.
The award-winning singer said she had just graduated from the university in New York and was very broke because she couldn’t work as an International student.
She said,
“I think I was 22 and we were in New York. I was living in Bed-Stuy, kind of like a shelter. A lot of people didn’t know this.
“I was in a shelter for women that had drug abuse problems.
“I just graduated from school. You know as an international student you can’t work. So, I couldn’t work. I was doing the side thing in Bed-Stuy which is like the hood in Brooklyn.”
Tiwa also narrated how she met her friend, Elohor, who has always been there for her.
“Elohor came to NewYork, Elohor has always been that girl… she’s like let’s go to … she was like let’s just hook up, let’s go and eat.
“We went to Timesquare, I ordered appetizer because I was so broke and I was so hungry! And I remember she was just looking at me asking what are you ordering and I was like I’m not really hungry… and then she just kept asking me are you sure… and I just started crying and when asked what is the matter I was like Elohor i don’t have money…
“She started ordering stuff and even ordered stuff for me to take home. .. and I just remembered going home to my box (in the shelter) and I just started crying and I was like I can’t believe this girl just made my day…”
Breaking down in tears, she talked about how Elohor was the first person she contacted when they posted her picture on Timessquare. She added a word of encouragement and urged people to never give up.
“So the first time when they posted my picture on Timesquare, she was the first person I called to say Elohor do you remember the first time… that was twenty years later… If I gave up five years ago I wouldn’t be saying this story. Don’t let time rob you of your joy…”

A Kenyan lady identified as Dorcas Jepkemoi Chumba has died after she plunged into a dam while posing for pictures while on a date with her fiancé, Benjamin Kazungu in Nandi County, Kenya.
According to reports, the 31-year-old was swept away on Sunday afternoon while her fiancé was using her phone to take pictures of her.
Kazungu said that he had taken his girlfriend out for a picnic at the famous falls to enjoy the breathtaking site of the waterfall.
He said that they had longed to hang out at the place as they both loved adventure.
But he did not know that it would be the last time he would ever see his girlfriend.
It was gathered that Mr Kazungu tried fruitlessly to rescue her from the raging waters.

A Nigerian man caught the attention of motorist after he was spotted selling a portrait of suspected internet fraudster, Hushpuppi in traffic.
In the short video making the rounds on social media, the seller was spotted with a huge portrait of Hushpuppi.
When asked how much he was selling the portrait, he said he is selling it for N30,000.

Mr Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi, was arrested for wire fraud in Dubai in June and extradited to the U.S. on July 3.
Before his arrest, the 37-year-old was resident in Dubai and known for flaunting extravagant lifestyles on his Instagram page but never for once, did he reveal the women in his life.
Hushpuppi was arrested alongside Mr Woodbery amongst others by Interpol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI in Dubai.

There seems to be no end to this Daddy Freeze and Pastor David Ibiyeomie saga as Charly Boy has also reacted to it, lambasting the pastor for threatening and attacking Daddy Freeze on the pulpit.
A video went viral yesterday where David Ibiyeomie of the Salvation Ministries verbally attacked Daddy Freeze, for always ”insulting his father”, Bishop David Oyedepo.
In his fit of anger, he called Freeze a Bast*rd and threatened to deal with him if he comes at Oyedepo again. He also ”cursed” the day Freeze was born with the congregation cheering him on.
Daddy Freeze has since responded to Pastor David Ibiyeomie. He accused the pastor of racial discrimination and threat to life. He then ordered the clergyman to publicly apologize to Somalians, journalists, half-castes, etc as he insulted them indirectly in the video.
Reacting on Instagram, Charly Boy threw a series of questions at the clergyman and declared that he will make him an “assignment” if he makes Daddy Freeze a topic.
Charly Boy wrote,

A Nigerian lady on Facebook, Nkii Queen has taken to the platform to suggest that Big Brother Naija housemate, Erica’s disqualification came as a result of an evil plan organized by current members of the house.
According to her, the plan was orchestrated by rapper, Laycon and some other housemates were involved, including Nengi. Nkii says that these housemates made a secret plan to intoxicate Erica, knowing fully well that alcohol is her weakness and so used that to their advantage.
Nkii wrote on her page,
Having so much hatred on a woman to the extent of organizing meeting collectively planning how to destroy her through her weakness (alcohol) is the greatest witchcraft. people watch bb for just watching sake, but me, bb is a serious institution. i read every bit of people’s actions in that house. Erica been disqualified was a silent group plan. the remaining housemates in the bb house are all involved in making sure that Erica is been disqualified. There’s something Erica has that so many of them are having sleepless night for not having it. Nengi is the first suspect. But no wahala such is life. just that Erica is not sensitive enough to know her worth in that house and how her fellow housemates were not happy for her gentle smiling face. Relentless BBNaija housemate, Ozo, is still trying to put pressure on his love interest Nengi, to accept being in an intimate relationship with him.
This morning during their daily workout, Nengi had to set boundaries again, telling him that they are just friends and should keep it at that.

Recall that, Ozo was captured on camera recently, professing his love to Nengi as he tells her that while they’re in a reality TV show, he’s also living his own reality and his reality is the fact that he’s in love with her and there’s nothing he can do to change.
While laying on the bed, Ozo approached Nengi to yet again, tell her of his feelings for her… this time, using the strong four letter word. He then tells her he never will say it to her again until they leave the Big Brother house as he believes the only way anything can work between them is if they’re both being truthful and honest with themselves.
Nengi has overtime refused Ozo’s advances as she continues to say that they’re nothing but friends only cause she actually has someone outside the Big Brother house but should in case that relationship doesn’t work, then can she only consider Ozo.
Nigerian media personality, Daddy Freeze has responded to Nigerian Pastor, David Ibiyeomie who cursed him for allegedly insulting his mentor, Bishop David Oyedepo.
Pastor Ibiyeomie, during one of his Sunday sermons, called Freeze a bastard among a number of other derogatory things. The clergyman insulted the media personality, who is known for tackling prosperity preachers — he also cursed the day Freeze was born and threatened him.
Reacting on his social media page, Daddy Freeze accused Ibiyeomie of racism, discrimination, and threat to life.
Freeze began in his response, “Even if you have a gun to my head, I’ll still speak the truth”
He then said he was “devastated” by Pastor Ibiyeomie’s video because of the “content” and he went on to reveal what about the content troubled him.
Freeze said he didn’t insult Bishop Oyedepo as Pastor Ibiyeomie claims, but simply drew the religious leader’s attention to a part of the bible.
Freeze said,
“Correcting the scripture is not an insult. Christ was criticized, Peter was criticized, Paul was criticized, even the Pharisees were criticized, so there’s no way you’re going to preach a message from the scriptures that you’ll not get criticisms.”
Condemning Ibiyeomie for likening him to the Somalians in a derogatory manner, Freeze said,
“I find it very devastating that just to get to me, Pastor Ibieomie will drag the whole Somalia nation. I’m very proud to associate myself with Somalians because they’re a beautiful people. It is hate speech to undermine them with derogatory words, like there’s anything wrong with the Somalians.”
Freeze also drew the attention of the public and the law enforcement agencies to the threat to his life.
He said,
“Pastor Ibiyeomie, I don’t know if you realize that a threat to life is a criminal offence…. If anything happens to me, I hope you know who to hold responsible.”
He also condemned Ibiyeomie for undermining the broadcasting profession just to undermine his source of income. Freeze said,
“You went on again to undermine the noble profession of broadcasting. I’m a proud broadcaster for the last 25 years. I’ve dedicated my life to this beautiful, noble profession…”
He said he takes his children to the radio station to watch him work with the hopes that one or two would take over the profession. He added that broadcasting isn’t something to be ashamed of.
“I think you should apologize to every journalist, every broadcaster, for undermining our work” Freeze told ibiyeomie.
Reacting to being called a “half-caste” by the pastor, Freeze said the word “half-caste” is “racist” and he asked that Ibiyeomie apologizes to victims of racism.
On being called a “bastard” by Ibiyeomie, Freeze said, “You say I’m not my father’s son. I put it to you to prove who my real father is.”
He further questioned Ibiyeomie if his utterances are in “synchrony” and “symphony” with the teachings of Christ.
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has said that despite the recent hike in the price of Premium Motor Spirit, the price of the commodity in Nigeria remains among the cheapest in Africa.
He made the statement at a joint press briefing in Abuja with the Minister of Power, Sale Mamman and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva.
Mohammed said; “In spite of the recent increase in the price of fuel to N162 per litre, petrol prices in Nigeria remain the lowest in the West/Central African sub-regions.
“Below is a comparative analysis of petrol prices in the sub-regions (naira equivalent per litre): Nigeria -N162 per litre; Ghana -N332 per litre; Benin -N359 per litre; Togo – N300 per litre; Niger – N346 per litre; Chad -N366 per litre; Cameroon -N449 per litre; Burkina Faso -N433 per litre; Mali -N476 per litre; Liberia – N257 per litre; Sierra Leone -N281 per litre; Guinea -N363 per litre; and Senegal – N549 per litre.
Outside the sub-region, petrol sells for N211 per litre in Egypt and N168 per litre in Saudi Arabia.
“You can now see that even with the removal of subsidy, fuel price in Nigeria remains among the cheapest in Africa.”
