Kwara state governor sacks official for ‘careless handling’ of suspected COVID-19 patient (video)

A video that made the rounds yesterday showed the moment a suspected COVID-19 patient was being evacuated to an isolation centre in a very ‘careless manner’ as none of the officials doing the evacuation were seen wearing the mandatory PPE that such situation requires.

The video elicited a wide range of criticism from social media users and some even doubted if the patient really had the virus.

See video below ;

In recent development, the Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has ordered the sack of a government driver attached to the state’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Team RRT, who attended to a suspected COVID-19 patient “in an unprofessional manner”.

A statement released by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, says the official failed to heed the clear directive from his superiors at the Rapid Response Team not to take any action until they arrive the scene.

Read the statement below

”Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Wednesday directed the sack of a government driver that unilaterally attended to an unkempt person who was evacuated with a COVID-19 ambulance in Ilorin.

He also directed the issuance of queries to top officials of the state ministry of health for failing to act with necessary caution and expertise in the handling of the incident that was recorded in a video footage that has since gone viral.

The Governor totally condemns the shoddy handling of the gentleman who was clearly going through a hard time,” Rafiu Ajakaye, chief press secretary to the Governor, said in a statement on Wednesday.

He has directed that the driver be fired immediately. As the investigation revealed, the driver failed to heed clear directive not to take any action until the Rapid Response Team (RRT) arrives the scene. He evacuated the gentleman with the help of members of the public without waiting for the arrival of the RRT.”

The Governor further directed that members of the RRT be queried, while other steps are being taken to ensure this incident does not repeat itself. Involving just anybody in the evacuation of a suspected case, as was seen in the footage, was a clear and dangerous violation of COVID-19 safety protocols. The government equally finds it quite distasteful and unacceptable that the driver, who had long been involved in such operations, made unethical comments to somebody in distress.

That incident was avoidable, and we sincerely apologise to the gentleman and to the people of Kwara State for the embarrassing development. We assure them this will not happen again.”

Tottenham and England football star, Dele Alli beaten and robbed by masked knife-wielding thieves at his home in London

English Football team, Tottenham FC and England midfielder, Dele Alli was reportedly beaten and robbed by masked knife-wielding thieves who broke into his home during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The 24-year-old was reported to be in a room with his long-time partner Ruby Mae, his adopted brother Harry, Harry’s girlfriend, and another male friend when two men stormed his north London property at around 12.30am.

They reportedly punched the Spurs midfielder in the mouth and assaulted another man before they made away with various items including jewellery and watches.

One suspect then ran upstairs and ransacked several of the star’s bedrooms.

A source told The Sun,

“The group have all been left extremely shaken.Dele was still awake and playing pool with the others when the raiders got into the property.

“It all kicked off downstairs and Dele was punched in the mouth by one of the two masked robbers.

Another source close to Dele said,

“It was a terrifying ordeal to go through. The two men who broke in had knives.

“They grabbed items and they demanded that Dele handed stuff over. Dele was there with his girlfriend, Harry and his girlfriend, and another man who all live there together so there were a few of them there at the time.

“The police were called and spent several hours there collecting statements and CCTV from the property.”

Confirming the raid, a police spokesman said,

‘Police were called at approximately 00:35hrs on Wednesday, 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address Barnet.

‘Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.

‘One male occupant of the property, aged in his 20s, suffered a minor facial injury after being assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment.

‘No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.’

The raid comes just two months after four masked robbers armed with knives and machetes broke into the home of Dele’s Spurs teammate Jan Vertonghen in Hampstead, North London.

Ex-Presidential aide, Doyin Okupe reveals the medication he took to recover from COVID-19

Former aide of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe has revealed the medication he used to recover from the novel Coronavirus.

Okupe and his wife both tested positive for the virus in April and were admitted into one of the Isolation centers in Ogun state. They were discharged on Tuesday, May 12 after testing negative twice for the virus.

In a post he shared on Wednesday evening, Okupe revealed the drugs he took to recover from the virus,

The medications I took for my covid19 virus infections.
Hydroxychloroquine, 400mg daily for 2days.there after 400mg daily for 3days.

Azithromycin 500mg daily for 10 days.
Zinc sulphate 100mg daily till today
Vitamin C 1200 mg daily till now.

I had malaria while on admission. Was effectively treated with an anti malaria. I also developed cough after about a week and was effectively treated by fairly large dose of Augmentine for 7 days.

I must say that there is no universal medical consensus on a specific treatment regime for covid19. Also most of d drugs being used in different centres worldwide are not backed by any detailed or extensive research work anywhere in the world.. Most scientific works and studies currently going on have limited scientific acceptability either because the samples used are too scanty, sometimes as low as 40 to 60, or because controls do not exists. It will take another 4 to 6 months before results of credible works are available.

However the humongous nature of the global emergency make it impossible for countries not to explore experimental drugs that show any possibility or potential to contain the virus.

In my own case I commenced treatment with the hydroxychloroquine regime 4 days to my isolation. This us because I read extensively on various options of treatment for covid 19 and I follow the global debate on its pros & cons of d treatment. With my medical background and local consultation with colleagues I already made up my mind that the chloroquine regime was so far the most promising. I ordered for the drugs just in case someone close or even I should unfortunately pick up the virus.

I MUST WARN HERE THAT IF UU HV CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIAS , U WILL NEED TO CONSULT YR PHYSICIAN BEFORE U TAKE HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE. I DID. so I was advised to use 200mg twice daily instead of 400mg twice daily for 2days.

After I put my wife and I on the treatment my low grade fever disappeared completely and my wife’s bone pains too. Personally I blv the combination works. Lagos uses anti viral drugs and they also get good results.

However the scientific truth we know about treatment for viral infection is that ultimately what eventually works is the innate capability of the immune system of individual patients. It is the immunity level that eventually decide the course of the infection in each individual. That is why age and ore existing comobidity factors are crucial to survival and wellbeing.

Hence for those who are not sick, you should ingest immune boosting drugs and preparations . Like zinc SULPHATE, immunace, RELOAD and similar immunity enhancing drugs.

I also took copious amount of ginger, garlic, tumeric and lemon. In kaduna I am told that they add dongoyaro leaves to the above mixture and drink liberally.

As a tip also, it is known that when the virus first gain access to the body it stays in the nasal cavity and the throat for 2 to 3days. In this position the virus itself is vulnerable. It does naturally in temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius. If at this stage u can consume large quantities of hot water wt lemon u can abort the attack.

My Advice

Pursue personal safety at whatever cost. Stay at home. Dont visit and dont recieve visitors. Check drivers maids and aides. Since its may be difficult to gauge their compliance, either reduce to the barest minimum or do without. Those that must stay must be made to be resident and movements restricted. Maintain physical distancing if u must ho out. Comply wt the hygiene protocols as recommended by NCDC.

Fortify yrself daily wt immune boosters.

At the slightest sign of trouble, fever, catarrh and or cough get help instant.

I hope someone finds this piece useful.

21-year-old man kidnapped and murdered by jealous friend in Imo; body discovered in Anambra (Photos)

A 21-year-old young man, identified as Micah Isaiah but also known as Leo Wire has reportedly been killed by his friend —an ex-militant— out of jealously.

According to reports surrounding Isaiah’s death, he was murdered on May 12th around Willow Wood hotel in Owerri, Imo state’s capital.

Isaiah was reported to be close friends with his murderer —a supposed ex-militant— who hired some men to kidnap Isaiah after Isaiah acquired a Lexus SUV.

It’s reported that Isaiah’s friend became jealous after he bought his new car. This prompted him to kidnap Isaiah with the aid of other men who disguised themselves in military uniforms.

They forced him into “unidentified cars without plate numbers” and drove him along with his car to Anambra, where they held him hostage and demanded N4million as ransom.

Isaiah’s abductors contacted his younger brother to pay the ransome but he couldn’t afford it as he had just buried their mother — a burial Leo didn’t attend because he had been abducted.

When the men didn’t receive the ransom, they emptied Leo’s account and then killed him.

It’s reported that one of the suspects was caught while making plans to sell Isaiah’s Lexus-350 SUV. With this, they informed the SARS division in Owerri, who took action and tracked his phone, his car, and the bank account the money was transferred into.

One of the kidnappers was nabbed in the process who then took the SARS operatives to the bush where Leo’s body was dumped.

The kidnapper —Isaiah’s friend— who had on a Nigerian military sweater, confessed to the crime and revealed he was once a soldier and was dismissed in 2018. He then went on to name his accomplices, one of whom he says is also a soldier.

He confessed that they accused Isaiah of being a fraudster before they apprehnded him. He added that he and his accomplices used a huge stone to kill Leo and thereafter poured a substance on him.

The suspect said,

“We arrested him in the name that he’s a Yahoo boy. So, we collected his car. Emmanuel and Ifeanyi Nwiwu used this stone to kill him. Emmanuel, the one who is… and Ifeanyi who is a soldier in Makurdi, used this stone to kill this man.”

“You were once a soldier, abi?” one of the SARS officers asked the suspect.

He responded: “Yes, I was once a soldier. I was dismissed in 2018.”

Leo’s remains have since been deposited in a morgue after being dead for 12 days.

“People admit they are breaking Coronavirus lockdown to have sex” – New survey shows

According to a new survey, people have been breaking lockdown rules to have sex despite the Coronavirus pandemic that has killed close to 300,000 people globally.

It shows people can stay at home for so many reasons, but have a hard time adhering to home lockdown rules when it comes to the issue of controlling sexual libido.

In the new survey of 2,000 people by IllicitEncounters, a dating website, it was found that one in five of those asked have broken lockdown to have sex.

According to IllicitEncounters.com, the biggest group of people that broke the restrictions (48%) are couples who were in a relationship prior to lockdown but don’t live together while 22% are people who were cheating on their partners pre-lockdown and have carried on the affair.

According to the survey, 8% of people who are breaking the lockdown are people who have started a new affair during the crisis and have met up with a new partner for sex as they can’t control their libido.

Over half of those breaching the rules (61%) have sneaked to their partner’s house for sex – or other places including cars, parks and beaches while 32% have gone to their partner’s house late at night specifically for sex.

People under the age of 30 broke the lockdown rules with 38% admitting they had breached the rules by having sex while 48% of people questioned said they felt guilty about breaking the restrictions.

Surprisingly another two-thirds (64%) said they would carry on breaking the rules and having sex as long as a full lockdown lasts.

IllicitEncounters sex and relationship expert Jessica Leoni said,

‘It is no surprise that one in five people [from the survey] have broken the lockdown for sex.

‘It is very easy to succumb to lust, particularly late at night when you have been communicating with a partner you were seeing pre-lockdown.

“Boys need a lot of direction. The way you raise boys is not how you raise girls because they are not the same. Male and female are not the same. We have people who argue that they are the same. I always tell people that there are 3 things that inform my teaching, scripturally tested, scientifically and statistically back. I don’t teach from sentiments. Many people try to build their scripture from sentiments so they start fighting back that oh feminism and all that. That men and women are the same. We are never the same. We have different roles.

Scripture tells us that, science tells us that, the statistics also tell us that. But unfortunately, Satan is using offended and broken people to start those movements. People that, maybe they’ve grown up in homes where the fathers were abusive then they start saying ‘oh we don’t need any head in the home, men and women should be equal.’ It’s coming from a place of hurt, from a place of abuse.

Maybe their dad was absent so they start saying ‘no woman should commit to any man. They are reacting based on something that has happened which we understand that what happened was bad but they should not try to change the roles and the gender because that is very important.

“I can’t marry someone like Dangote” – Yoruba actress reveals

Budding Yoruba actress, Oyinkansola Emmanuel has revealed her type of man and shockingly, the richest man in Africa, Nigerian business tycoon, Aliko Dangote does not meet up to her requirement.

Speaking during an Instagram Live chat with Yoruba Movies Gist, the actress said:

”I will appreciate a God fearing man, who knows what it takes to have a woman at home as a wife. He must be very respectful and know how to treat me well. I don’t want a man that will turn himself to Mike Tycson or Anthony Joshua in my marriage. Regardless of his status, he must be very tall. I believe that I am short in stature and if I marry a short man like myself, we might end up having dwarf as kids”, she said.

Asked If she would settle for Dangote if she has the opportunity, she said:

”It is not about your wealth, achievement or your status. It is a matter of choice. I won’t feel the love like having my kind of man. Nothing a man can use to entice me that will freak me. You just have to be tall. I can’t even marry someone like Dangote because he is a busy type, he might not be with with me physically. Not every problems money can solve, sometimes you just need the man’s presence. I am not saying I don’t need money, a man that must marry me must be okay in his only little way, he should be able to cater for his family, not the one that will become a burden on me. Even if he doesn’t have the millions yet, I will still go with him if he is my choice”.
