Nollywood Actor, Akah Nnani has reckoned men should also take part in chores in the home and not leaving every activity in the home for their wives to carry out.
Nnani, who took to his social media page to advocate for gender equality, wrote that it is an all-round responsibility of the man to take care of his household and protect them from invaders of any sort.
He shared a photo of himself doing the dishes and wrote ;
I believe a man’s responsibility is to protect the woman, his wife, from stress. In these times, fathers are to protect their kids from germs. Help your kids wash their hands. Protect your family from the social damage of having an absent father.
We always talk about ‘wife material’ well, there should be #HusbandMaterial too then. We live in a world where women are unfairly burdened with the responsibility of caring for the home alone. They cook, clean, take care of the kids and all sorts… Then still have to do work.
I’ve been married for over a year now and before marriage, I always knew I didn’t want domestic help. In my home, when she cooks I wash the bathroom, she sweeps, I mop. She is tired, I make the indomie. I wash the dishes. I also keep MY home. Because it is mine too.
I know men can do better when we know better. This is why I am joining the #HeForShe campaign to remind my brothers that #GenderEquality should also be at home. Oh, the world would be so much better and we would be so much happier if we worked together to make every human feel valued.

About a week ago, two year old twin children of popular Oyo state Islamic cleric, Sheik Taofeeq Akewugbagold, were abducted from their home in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The cleric who disclosed the abduction in a post on his Facebook page in the early hours of Sunday April 26, announced that his children, a boy and a girl, were kidnapped at gunpoint at his Ojoo residence on Saturday night, April 25.
The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Fadeyi Olugbenga, who confirmed the incident, said efforts are being made by the state operatives to locate the abductors and rescue the children alive.
However it’s been one week now and the twins are still with their abductors.
LIB reached out to children’s father, Taofeeq Akewugbagold, who disclosed that the abductors have contacted him and are demanding for £100, 000 ransom for their release.
“We have been contacted and we have been exchanging conversations with the abductors. We are begging them on a daily basis to reduce the ransom. They have asked for £100, 000 which is N55 million. Since then we have been begging them and I believe they will consider our plea.
The abductors speak good English meaning they are graduates. They were first harsh but later very friendly. It is very unfortunate. I am appealing to the government to wake up to their duty. If things continue like this, only God knows what will happen.” he said
Sheik Taofeeq said the mother of the twins who waited for 12 years before giving birth to them, has been terribly ill since the incident happened. She did a video few days ago weeping as she appealed to the abductors of her children to release them.
We have been moving their mother from one hospital to the other since that day while for me, I am just trying to control myself because it is raising my BP. I put my hope in Almighty Allah. he said
The cleric said the abductors have also sent him pictures of his children “looking sad”.
They sent their pictures to us and we studied it and saw it was not photoshopped. The children looked sad. One was crying while the second one’s eye was swollen. It is an experience I can never pray for my worse enemy. I need my children” he said
LIB tried reaching out to the state police command spokesperson to ascertain if there is any progress in the search for the twins but he was unavailable to pick our calls.

The Lagos state government has announced new transportation guidelines in light of the gradual easing of the lockdown which will commence on the 4th of May, 2020.
As the partial ease of the lockdown by the Federal Government in Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja commences on Monday, May 4th, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, stated that the new guidelines were proactive measures put in place by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to curtail a possible spread of the deadly virus among the commuting public through transportation activities when gradual ease of the lockdown commences.
Oladeinde explained that effective from Monday, 4th of May, all commercial and commuter operations within Lagos shall be between the hours of 6 am and 7 pm daily, asserting that it is mandatory for all commuters to wear nose covers, wash their hands with soap under running water and, thereafter, use alcohol-based sanitizers before and after each trip.
Announcing the immediate suspension of all inter-State operations and movements, the Commissioner mentioned that the decision was taken to effectively manage and control movement within the metropolis while measuring the level of success achieved with various strategies adopted by the State Government to control further spread of COVID-19.
He affirmed that the use of motorcycles, popularly called Okada, for commercial activities would not support the physical distancing rule as directed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), pointing out, therefore, that Okada operations are disallowed in any part of Lagos State at this period.
While warning public transport operators against any activity capable of undermining government efforts at eradicating the COVID-19 pandemic, Oladeinde disclosed that all transport operators and companies must compulsorily and regularly disinfect their vehicles, parks and garages while they are expected to collaborate with the State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources on the standard of disinfectants approved by the State Government for use.
The new transportation guidelines released are part of the continuous effort to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus in Lagos State. The government warns operators of various mechanic workshops to prevent security breaches in their environment, ensure that all abandoned vehicles within their premises are evacuated within the next one week and keep their surroundings clean.
The government warned that it would, through its Committee on the abandoned vehicles, enter any workshop that fails to comply and tow the vehicles away.
He also warned all commercial passenger vehicles not to exceed 60 per cent of their capacity at this crucial time, while physical distancing rule must be obeyed both at the parks and in the buses, maintaining that Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Lagos Bus Services Ltd (LBSL) must not convey more than 21 passengers, must not permit standing in their buses and should keep the air-conditioning systems switched off always.
“In the same vein, yellow buses, popularly called ‘Danfo’, must not carry more than eight passengers (two on a row), tricycles are to carry just two passengers at the back, while private car owners must also observe the physical distancing,” Oladeinde stated.
Speaking on the activities of transporters involved in the disposal of medical wastes used at COVID-19 isolation centers, the Commissioner insisted that waste handlers must always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), dispose non-reusable ones and wash reusable ones immediately after each use.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Mr. Toyin Fayinka, stated that enforcement of the new transportation guidelines will commence on Monday, 4th of May, 2020, urging motorists to obey the guidelines to avoid encounters with the Special Task Force made up of the Police, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS), as well as Abandoned Vehicles and Parks Monitoring Committees.
