In some parts of the world, there’s been news that toilet paper has become a scarce commodity as people rush to het them cause they see it as one of the health-coping mechanisms for Covid-19.
Well, the hike in the demand for toilet paper has people stocking up a lot of the product in their houses and as such, having excess of it… this situation is peculiar to a lot of people who panic bought the tissue paper and so what to do with the excess is what coulda potentially sprung up the #toiletpaperchallenge.
In a series of videos online, celebrities and netizens are seen making videos of themselves juggling toilet paper as they would juggle a soccer ball… the least raises to do is 10 concurrent ones and the challenge is quite viral on the internet.
Nigerian DJ and singer, DJ Cuppy has now, also taken part in the challenge and we’re quite impressed with her juggling skills with a toilet paper.
She shared the video on her IG page calling herself a ‘baller’ and fans and followers are having a field day watching her ‘ball’.
iROKOtv boss, Jason Njoku has narrated how his 73-year-old mother survived after suffering from coronavirus.
Sharing photos of his mother in a hospital in the UK, he wrote:
“My mum has been an @NHSuk healthcare worker for 25 years. 14-16th March she was ill at home with ALL the symptoms of Covid19. Mrs Njoku & I screamed at her to go to the hospital.
“17th March my mum went to A&E & was hospitalised. 20-21st March were on verge lungs collapsed as she battled with Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). They prepared her for ICU & intubation (Mortality rate is 40%) We cried & we prayed through the entire weekend. 6 people on her ward died. Aged 20s, 40s, 50s and 60s. She is 73 with diabetes. @NHSuk saved her life. ????
“Even with on 15L of pure Oxygen (The highest option available) she still struggled to breath & was about to be put on a ventilator. That means the machines would take over her breathing. By God’s grace on the night of Sunday 21st she started to improve. Yesterday she came home.
“My mum has never been in the hospital more than 3 days her entire 73 years. I retired her a decade ago she still works 2-3 days a week just to keep active. The overwhelming of health systems causes the spike in deaths. Its math. My mother was part of that math. She survived.”
Moments ago, Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde announced via his social media page that he’s tested positive for the Corona virus after running a test, although he’s asympomatic.
His latest news has had residents of his state and well meaning Nigerians worried and hopeful for a speedy recovery for the governor.
But another thing that has people concerned about his news is in the regard of the people he’s come in contact with and who could have potentially been infected through him.
Pondering about this has some netizens recalling that he was in a photo with singing sensation, Davido about a week and few days ago.
This version of events has had tongues wagging as just three days ago, the singer announced that his fiance is also positive with the virus but his own results came out negative.
His announcement had some people in doubts over the verity of his own result. People wondered whether or not he was being sincere with the news of his fiance or he was just pulling a stunt.
Others were even more bothered as to whether or not his own results truly came out negative cause not too long ago, he was seen pictured in close range with his fiance at an event and there was no form of social distancing whatsoever so there’s the threat of him contracting the virus.
Now, people have another reason to wonder about the singer’s fate after Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde revealed that he’s tested positive for the virus and about a week ago, they were both photoed —in close range— together.
The photos has caused another debate on social media over Davido’s Covid-19 result as it’s clear that he’s been in contact with two persons. However, one cannot wish for the worst for the singer but the circumstances surrounding him over the virus is what has people in thoughts.

“They are the same as our ancient readings that have not failed us till date. On this throne, I work very closely with all the nations of the world most especially the nation of Cuba.
“Centuries go by, the nation of Cuba hold dearly the tenets of our ancestors and rely on the blessings of the mystery of nature, and as a result they have the best medical care in the world. They are the ONLY country that have come out boldly to help the world.
“The Almighty is above religion and he is moving now, the world will now respect nature WHOLLY. Remember nature does not need you, we all need nature to survive. Truly, the world will NEVER remain the same again!
“To solve this ailment is through natural elements put together above all from nature. It has been tested!!! I have used it and also used it for some of the chronic Corona patients with testimonials.
“PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS FOR GRANTED (The world did with the warning Last Year June). I also challenge researchers both in Nigeria and the world to make these natural herbs into clinical medicine and extract the vaccines from it.
“I am ready to work with them and provide huge access to the herbs. It is real and it works. I have a lot gathered together for the use of mankind.
“I’m also currently working with Yem Kem International (Alternative Medicine Expert) pharmaceutical company for the packaging and distribution of these globally. It is about time to save the world now. Tomorrow may be too late. Let’s all keep safe.”

The Izala sect leader, Sheikh Yahaya Jingir has claimed that the video that’s been making rounds on social media where he was heard telling his followers that no one can stop them from worship, was recorded before the Plateau State Government gave orders of restriction of movement and a maximum of 50 persons in worship centers.
Malam Sani Yahaya Jingir had a while back, described coronavirus as a western propaganda and in the video he is heard saying that the Nigerian government cannot stop him and his followers from congregating in mosques.
The act by Sheikh Jingir received a lot of backlash and condemnation across the country as the act is seen as capable of spreading the Virus in Jos and inciting public disorder and disrupting the fragile peace on the Plateau.
It was reported that Sheikh Yahaya Jingir was summoned by the Plateau state Government and he “showed remorse” and promised to issue out a statement to his followers to obey Government directives.
Below is the statement issued by the sect on March 29th,
The National Executive Council of JIBWIS under the leadership of Ash-Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir declares its absolute compliance with health, safety and social measures taken by the Federal, and State Governments against the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria. In demonstration of this timely declaration, the organisation has already implemented safety measures, such as provision of hand sanitizers in offices and places of worship, distancing policy and closed all its Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Schools with over 7-million pupils/students nationwide.
The Organisation has also terminated its National Seminar for Qur’anic Recitation Judges, Imams and other juristic participants. The organisation considered it imperative to restate its commitment in supporting government’s initiative against the escalation of COVID-19 and any measure that seeks to promote public safety and welfare of Nigerians at this critical period in our history.
The organisation assures Public authorities at all level of governance of its concluded arrangements to support the ongoing sensitisation on social distancing, self isolation, management of public gathering and other hygienic measures which Islam already recognized that will guard against the epidermic or its escalation.
In the light of the above, the organisation conveys its sincere commendation to the Government of Plateau State in particular for taking appropriate measures in furtherance of public safety, Security and welfare of the people. The Federal Government is also commended in similar guise for successful implementation of diversified measures against the prevalence of COVID-19 in the Country.
The Organisation sympathizes with unfortunate victims of this tragedy and Pray to Allah (SWT) to help governments at all levels and the entire Nigerians against this global tragedy.
In conclusion, the Organisation appeals to Nigerian Governments at all levels and well to do Nigerians to support the under privileged Nigerians faced with confinement or closure of places of business to alleviate difficulties of hunger that may be equated in danger and consequence with the epidemic. The Government is kindly advised to ensure effective implementation of distribution of relief measures to deserving beneficiaries.
Nigerian Big Boy and Instagram sensation, Ray Hushpuppi has taken to his Instagram page to call out Nigerian Billionaires who he accused of donating ‘audio billions’ in the fight against corruption.
Hushpuppi
Recall some Nigerian Billionaires Like Femi Otedola, Jim Ovia, Tony Elumelu amongst others showed their benevolence and patriotism by donating/pledging large sums of money to help the country fight the global pandemic {coronavirus}.
However, Hushpuppi is skeptical about the donations and he’s asking for some transparency as regards the custodian of these donations.
He shared an image with an inscription that reads ;
Can somebody check on these billionaires that donated audio billions for clout? The orphanages and hospitals in Nigeria still lack tremendously. Who y’all gave those billions ? We trying to know.
He added ;
I am directly in contact with some major orphanages and hospitals. They are lacking majorly in this crazy time so that makes me wonder where did all those privately donated funds go to
We wish we understood what Madame Rita Daniels was singing in her song in this new video of hers that’s emerged on the internet but after mentioning ‘Corona virus’ a few times, we don’t think it’s rocket science to know that she’s lamenting over the dreaded disease.
Mother of Nigerian actress, Regina Daniels, Rita Daniels has become a trending topic on social media after a video of her singing with tears and a running nose was shared online.
With the occasional “Corona virus” mentioned in her melancholic song and taking a cue from her caption, Rita apparently is desolate and aggrieved with how the novel Corona Virus has been traumatizing the world over the past few months.
With tears running down her eyes and a running nose to show heartfelt emotions, Rita has Nigerians having mixed feelings over her video showing concern for the global pandemic.
Many feels she’s only chasing clout and being the actress that she is, channeling such emotions might not be hard for her as it’s her usual wont while others feel that she’s indeed worried with the current situation of the world.
She shared the video with the caption,
MEANINGFUL MORNING
None!
Exodus 15:11 KJV
“Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” If only men will place GOD where HE truly belongs.. ??
None LORD; there’s none like YOU.
We humbly and wholly concede that our failure to acknowledge YOU for WHO YOU ARE has brought upon us that which we have found ourselves;
But now we realize our folly.
Please, forgive us,
Have mercy upon us
Protect us from every evil,
Shower YOUR Goodness and love upon us again.
Glorify YOUR name and
Wrought YOUR wonders in our world heal our nations;
And we shall return praises to YOU,
In JESUS NAME AMEN ??
Well, we can’t say for sure how Rita is feeling, but we know her daughter, Regina is feeling cute and hoping that her followers are ‘staying at home’. A quick check on her IG page shows her sharing a video of a cute guy on her story and not more than 48 hours ago, her serving her fans photos of herself as she advocates for the “stay at home” movement.
Regardless, Madame Rita, please stay safe and cry less… we’re sure not many Nigerians want to see such a face at a time like this that everyone is being hopeful and optimistic.
A Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to give her inspirational testimony of how she recovered from the novel Corona virus in Nigeria.
The story of Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi although started rather rough, has now ended in pure joy as she’s recovered from Corona Virus Disease 2019 that claimed thousands of lives all over the world.
Oluwaseun started her story by sharing that she returned to the country from the United Kingdom after the commonwealth event and thereafter fell ill, she shared how she self-isolated but days after, after running a test, discovered she was positive for Covid-19.
Seun, who’s the pioneer for the #StandToEndRape movement, shared how the next stages of her life after discovering she’s a Covid-19 patient were rough but in the long run, she pulled through and came out a victor.
She shares her story to inspire Nigerians to practice safe health and social distancing and also note that the Corona virus is not a death sentence.
Though her post is quite lengthy, it worth the read… She shares her story as thus,
Life finds ways of throwing LEMON at me. I’ve struggled w/ coming forward, but I want to inspire hope.
I returned to Nigeria from the UK post-Commonwealth event (I totally enjoyed) & fell ill. As a responsible person, I self-isolated.
Days after, I TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19.
Before returning, I had planned several interviews, I was scheduled to start a fantastic consultancy job & was also expecting to sign a contract worth millions.
I lost them all!!!
I had to self-isolate and also inform people I came in close contact with to get tested. #COVID19
My friend & I kept calling
@NCDCgov
to get tested? What if we didn’t persist?
No info on my test result. At 12am, an ambulance was at my house. I woke from sleep & was crying. I got to isolation center, but no one was there to receive me. I waited in the ambulance for TWO HOURS.
The nurses eventually came out & treated me like a plague. I sat in the ambulance feeling rejected.
No questions about how I felt. So many questions about my travel history. Same information I had provided to NCDC & Lagos State Government during profiling.
Lack of data sharing!
After two hours, I was taken to my space.
I felt lonely, bored & disconnected from the outside world.
Few days after, another patient came in. We bonded. Days later, patients trooped in.
“Are people observing self-isolation & social distancing?” I was so scared for Nigeria.??
The next days were tough. No appetite. The nausea, vomit & stooling was unbearable. I’m a blood type A & #COVID19 dealt w/ me.
I’ll share daily symptoms & recovery process in a video tomorrow.✌?
I thought I was going to die & contemplated a succession plan for
@StandtoEndRape.
I was on drugs daily. Sometimes, I‘d take 8 tablets in the morning, 13 tablets in the afternoon, 10 at night. My system threw everything out!
Water, food, soap & all disgusted me. But I’d look at the wall & force myself to stay hydrated — drank ORS. I FOUGHT TO LIVE! I FOUGHT!!
Days after, the Doctors shared a goodnews that I tested negative. I shared this news w/ family & friends! My blood sample was taken & I also tried to donate my plasmapheresis to help others. I hoped to be discharged.
I waited to be discharged, but for two days, nothing happened.
I was unsure of what was going on. Why haven’t I been discharged? Should I be in the same ward? Could I get reinfected? I was worried but remained calm.
On the 3rd day, Doctors said, “well, we worked w/ the info we had of you testing negative, but one result came back positive.”
“…You’ll stay a few more days. You know we take nose, mouth & sputum samples.”
“Am I still positive Flushed face?” I asked.
“No, you’re negative,” the Doctor replied.
The Doctor apologised for the delay. I was anxious to go home but remained calm.
I wanted to be free from this pain.
I continued the medication and asked to be in a separate ward. Sadly, I remained in the same ward as all others rooms were full.
My ward had people who were positive. What if I get re-infected?
For them, I was a beacon of hope & they needed me gone to register the progress.
My family & friends were becoming anxious.
People in my ward who earlier celebrated the news of my result suddenly lost hope.
“Why are you still here?”
“You shouldn’t be here with us. You should be separated from us now…”
People in my ward muttered.
I tried to calm them.
Today, I am PROUD to inform you that I MURDERED COVID-19 & have tested NEGATIVE TWICE! I HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED!??♂️
I bless God for His mercies.??
The nurses at IDH Yaba were fab. They deserve accolades for their hard work.
Thank you Governor @jidesanwoolu for coming to see me.??
Thanks to @ProfAkinAbayomi, the health team at IDH + Lagos State. The food was good!Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes
Thanks to @dondekojo for helping me get help. Thanks to my chat buddy, @akintonmide.
Thank you @KelechiAFC & @lailajohnsonsal for the mental & material support.
They protected my identity!Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes
Thanks to everyone who called, sent messages and tried to contact me. I am grateful and well. ??
This experience reminded me of the value of friendship. Some people I refer to as friends speculated about this, but never reached out to check. Thank you still. Back to the grind!Smiling face with open mouth and tightly-closed eyes
Huge thanks to my family, @Triciabiz & Sola Odetola who were my backbone. Smiling face with 3 hearts
Some stigmatised me based on a PUNCH article with subtle messages like “why did she come back to Nigeria?”Face with tears of joy
Nigeria is my home. ??♀️
Coronavirus is NOT a death sentence. People can survive and I HAVE!
We should encourage people to get tested & stop the stigma.
Practise social distancing and stop the spread.
@NCDCgov
& State Governments need to improve their testing capacity. Test mild/asymptomatic cases too.
Sending strength to everyone who is fighting to beat #COVID19. ??
To every young person out there, please give your lungs a chance to beat this. Can I encourage you to stop smoking & live a healthy life at this time? A healthy lungs is KEY!
This another phase of my life & I HAVE won! I celebrate my resilience and strength.
The Nigerian Federal Government has announced the second death from coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, made this known on Monday during the Presidential Task Force Briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
His words ;
“Till date, three persons have been discharged after successful treatment. But sadly, another fatality was recorded over the weekend in the person of a patient who had severe underlying illnesses.
“We have intensified contact tracing and our strategy remains to promptly detect cases, isolate them, and follow up with their contacts and also isolate and treat, in order to reduce the spread of the infection.”
“As of today, the 30th of March, 2020, we have recorded 111 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria of which 68 are in Lagos, 21 in the FCT, seven in Oyo, three in Ogun, two in Bauchi, two in Edo, two in Osun, two in Enugu, and one each in Benue, Ekiti, Kaduna and Rivers States.”
The Mike Adenuga Foundation (MAF), established by business mogul, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support Nigeria’s fight against the global Coronavirus pandemic, otherwise known as COVID-19.
Giving the breakdown of the N1.5 billion donation, the Foundation said that “N1billion will go to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which is coordinating efforts to raise funds from corporate bodies to support the initiatives aimed at combating the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, while the Lagos State Government which has recorded the majority of the cases will get N500 million”.
The cheque was presented by Globacom’s Executive Vice Chairman, Mrs Bella Disu to the Lagos State Governor on Monday.
“We are fully aware that our nation is indeed passing through very challenging times, with unprecedented impact on how we live, survive, stay in touch with each other and conduct our businesses. We feel the pulse of our people, appreciate the pains of those who are sick or have lost loved ones and the anxiety of all of us compelled to live under the shadow of this dreaded pandemic”, the Foundation said.
MAF noted that the core values that connect people firmly with one another – love for family, community and enterprise – were the most threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic, and stressed that Dr Adenuga and his Foundation remained committed to the protection and promotion of those values, and appealed to Nigerians not to allow the pandemic to affect those values adversely.
In addition to this contribution, MAF shall actively continue its on-going efforts to assist various bodies and institutions in the country with the supply of such essential items as Sanitizers, Masks, Test Kits, Personal Prospective Equipment (PPEs), Respirators and other necessary requirements to combat the pandemic.
Anulike Ubasinachi Ekweozor and her husband Ubasinachi Ekweozor ae currently cooling off in Ikotun Police station, after the former attacked one of their tenant, Oyize Peter over unpaid water and electricity bills, at their home located at No, 78, Amudalatu Agodo, Ikotun, Lagos.
According to reports, the tenant was owing electricity bills, and the electricity distribution company disconnected her house.
Landlord and wife.
According to a source: “Oyize was owing electricity bills and her house was disconnected. This infuriated her landlord because the tenant’s house was also connected to the pumping machine that serves the entire compound.
So the landlord called an electrician to connect the machine’s wire to his own apartment and also called a plumber to disconnect Oyize’s pipe so she wouldn’t have water, but she didn’t allow that and it led to an exchange of words.
Calm was later restored and the tenant returned to her apartment. However, Oyize was in the kitchen when the landlady allegedly took her unawares and used an axe to mar her face.”
The victim has since been rushed to a hospital while the culprits have been whisked to Ikotun Police Station where they are currently cooling off.

HipHop mogul and Canadian superstar, Drake has finally showed fans and followers what his 2-year-old son, Adonis looks like. He welcomed the toddler with retired adult movie star, Sophie in October 2017.
The rapper who kept his son’s identity a secret before now, shared a thread of photos showing off his curly-haired son who he cuddled in some of the photos taken at his custom-built Toronto mansion.
The rapper revealed that they were isolating separately due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. He opened up on missing his son who he can’t wait to get back to.
Drake wrote,
What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light. This will create the biggest opening of all. Trust that you have all of the power within to make this happen, and in order to do that connect to the people and things that bring you a lot of joy. When the mind starts to move into overthinking or fear, shift your attention right away to something bright.
It doesn’t matter what has happened in the past or what is happening around us now, you can always make the choice to break free of the wheel of suffering and panic and open up to your own light. We are powerful manifestors , so once you make the choice in the moment to shift your awareness to something good, it will show you in your reality. Be conscious, especially right now of fears coming in from others, and recognize that not everything should be held by you.
Laughter is your best medicine, but tears can also be a powerful release. Let go of any judgment you may have around that. Remember that you are never alone, and if you need to be reminded of that ask for support and it will show up. Everything comes down to intention, and even though there are conflicting energies circling around us you must KNOW…It will rebuild. But in order for that to happen, you have to do exactly that. Trust. You have the biggest heart and that is your greatest gift.
It’s impossible to always control your surroundings, but when you shift the focus to how you want to feel, everything will conspire to assist you. I love and miss my beautiful family and friends and I can’t wait for the joyful day when we are all able to reunite. Until then please keep your lights on.

Nigerian actor, Zubby Michael has swung a heavy jab at his fellow actor, Yul Edochie, after the latter proposed a suggestion to the Federal Government as regards the Covid-19 crisis in the country.
Shortly after the President declared a total lockdown to be observed starting from Monday, 11:00pm in the three states with the top cases, actor, Yul Edochie took to his page to suggest that the President provides economic relief package for Nigerians.
His suggestion was seconded by some of his colleagues but one who didn’t stand with him is actor, Zubby Michael who says he should practice what he preaches “because charity begins at home”.
The actor who seems to somewhat know Yul Edochie’s character revealed that he’s quite a wicked and stingy being and as such shouldn’t be the one to give such suggestions since it’s not in his character.
He wrote,
People should practice what they preach because charity begins at home, This one that can not give anyone a lift even when he is driving your way,

UK-based Nigerian TV Host, Tobi Akingbade has shared her horrific symptoms after surviving a coronavirus infection.
According to Tobi, a medical test she underwent for the virus turned out positive after being in contact with a confirmed case. She further revealed that she had a swollen gland, persistent cough, fever and always felt tired thereafter.
Read her tweets below;
I survived coronavirus. Spent nearly 2 weeks indoors + in quarantine as my body fought it off. Yesterday, I took my first steps downstairs, headed straight to my garden + took a deep breath Wasn’t gonna share this online but I’ve been encouraged to share hope & good news 1/18
Because a lot of us may not get access to Covid-19 testing kits and calls with NHS 111 feel scripted, I’ll share my experience. It may help someone. These were my symptoms… 2/18
Day 1: I’d been informed that I was in contact with someone who had been in contact with someone with covid-19. Nothing serious I told myself, but I decided to social distance anyway. Later I found out I’d been in direct contact with a confirmed case 5 days before. 3/18
Day 2: I develop a very dry cough. And a swollen gland I developed 2 days before Day 1 became very prominent. The cough was persistent making speaking for longer than 40 secs hard. I was extremely fatigued. I’m anaemic and well acquainted with tiredness but this was chronic 4/18
Day 3: A good night sleep did not help. My chest was painfully tight, at first I blamed work anxiety. I developed a fever (was hot + cold at the same time). I struggled to walk and my breathing became shallow + difficult. The muscles in my neck began to ache. 5/18
Day 4: The scariest day. Woke up feeling like I’d been run over by a truck in my sleep and then thrown of a cliff. The muscles in my face ached. The muscles in eyes hurt. Every muscle hurt. My persistent cough became extremely painful. Developed a painful migraine. 6/18
Day 4: Still with a fever and cough. On this day I became frightful of how my body would force itself to sleep. My breathing was worrying and I feared the worst. I called NHS 111 who confirmed my suspicions and instructed me to self-isolate in my room as I don’t live alone. 7/18
Day 5: I slept a lot. Keeping my eyes open was painful and a core. Wore sunglasses to use my phone. The sunlight made my migraine worst. My body ached and my breathing became worst. Coughing didn’t help. I could feel my lungs getting heavier, every breath got shorter. 8/18

Day 6: Painkillers did not stop the pain. Also stockpiling trends meant even my pharmacist could not help. Was scared to sleep as my breathing was not improving. Could not hold my breath for more than 2 secs. 9/18
Day 7: I became alarmed when I noticed I lost the ability to taste food. Nearly passed out brushing my teeth as it was obstructing my breathing. NHS were too overstretched to help. At this point I was begging God, I didn’t want to die this way 10/18
Day 8: Twitter said that running a humid shower would help breathing. It did for me. I drew my curtains for the 1st time, still needed sunglasses. Body aches stopped. Migraine not so persistent. Coughed less but it was a nauseous and brought up yellowy phlemg from my lungs 11/18
Day 8: Still breathless from just sitting up, sharp pains in my chest but migraine improved. Body temperature back to normal. Coughed about twice a day. Found the strength to find hope. 12/18
Day 9-12: Saw improvements slowly. Was able to hold my breath for 8 secs now. Slept less, was able to WFH at times. Called NHS again due to a scare with breathing, unable to get medical assistance but the problem solved itself. Became physically restless on Day 11 13/18
Day 13: Walked down the stairs for the first time. Thanked God and walked around my garden. Wasn’t sure I’d remember what fresh air would feel like. 14/18
I know the staff at NHS did everything they could for me with the limited resources they had. On a normal day, I would have been accepted into A&E. It was touch and go. Also, I was not tested. 15/18
I’ve lost several days of my life to this illness. Many others have lost their lives. You can do your part by staying at home, stop joking around & take it seriously. I’m a healthy 28 year old & it hit me hard. I’m grateful to have recovered but I will continue to do my part. 16

“What’s the matter? Are u hungry? You can talk to me. I can help if u don’t mind. What’s wrong with you?”
The guy replied,
“Isolation is not funny ejor. Don’t mind me.”

The Kano Governor made the announcement on Sunday March 29, during the inauguration of the fund-raising committee on COVID-19. He asked residents of the state to observe the fasting and prayer which will take off today, March 30.
Ganduje who stated that prayer is the best fire against the COVID-19, also pleaded with retired health workers in Kano to help the state fight the virus.
He said;
“As Nigeria recorded over 90 cases of coronavirus, Kano is yet to record a single case, hence the need for the government to be up and doing to contain the outbreak of the deadly disease,” Ganduje said.
“I call on Kano people to observe fast tomorrow, (Monday) 30th March, and 5th Sha’aban and pray hard against the outbreak of coronavirus in our dear state.
“I also call on people to intensify prayers because prayer is the best fire for this disease. While we are putting effort into taking preventive and curative measures against the coronavirus pandemic, there are some groups of people who cannot earn a living, who must go out to fend for their families.
“There are those who are economically weak and must be affected during this trying moment. That is why we decided to form a committee to raise money in order to help them cushion the effects.”
The Nigeria Police Force has warned Nigerians on the new crime trends fraudsters have deviced to defraud people during this Coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement released, the police spokesperson, Frank Mba, said intelligence at the disposal of the Force indicates that fraud and cybercrime are expected to rise at this time owing to the lockdown emplaced by Government at all levels to contain the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
Mba said intelligence obtained from the INTERPOL Headquarters shows that scammers in Nigeria and other parts of the globe have begun to create and set up fraudulent websites, e-commerce platforms, fake social media accounts and emails claiming to sell and deliver (covid-19) medical products. He noted that in some cases, the fraudsters use the names of prominent companies involved in the production and distribution of these items. Victims are then asked to pay via bank transfer.
According to Mbah, the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu, has enjoined all Nigerians to strictly adhere to the following security tips:
i. Avoid opening suspicious emails and clicking on links in unrecognized emails and attachments; ii. Ensure proper back-up of online and offline files regularly and securely; iii. Use strong passwords for securing your emails and social media handles; iv. Keep your software updated, including antivirus software; v. Manage your social media settings and review your privacy and security settings; vi. You are advised to be wary of scammers who use names of prominent companies to create fraudulent websites, e-commerce platforms, social media accounts and emails claiming to sell and deliver medical products; vii. You are advised to ignore and report calls purportedly emanating from a caller who pretends to be a relative currently being treated at hospital asking you to pay for the cost of the medical treatment by transferring money or by paying cash to fake public health representatives; viii. Do not open letters or emails related to the pandemic from unknown persons who claim to be health authorities. Often times criminals access sensitive information,steal personal information and steal funds of victims by tricking them into connecting to a specific webpage and logging-in with their credentials; ix. Be mindful of fake news, deliberate misinformation/disinformation and avoid circulating untrusted and unverified messages on your social media handles; x. Educate your family, especially your children, about how to stay safe online and offline; xi. If you become a victim, ensure prompt report to the police.
The statement added that the IGP has placed the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja – Nigeria on red alert.
”The NCB which houses the cybercrime unit of the Force shall in the coming days and beyond work closely with other Interpol member states across the globe particularly to carry out intense monitoring of the internet highway in the most legitimate and ethical manner. This is to engender concerted efforts in cracking down on any individual or all forms of organized criminal gangs that may want to take advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic to perpetrate crimes.
The Force also enjoins commercial bank operators to strengthen their online banking security systems and report promptly any suspected case of fraud and other cybercrime related activities in their banks.
While reaffirming the determination of the Nigeria Police Force in providing support services to relevant agencies saddled with the task of curtailing and containing the COVID-19 pandemic, the IGP assures the public that the Force is unrelenting in clamping down on criminals who may want to take advantage of the situation to perpetrate criminal acts” the statement read

Babajide Sanwo-Olu has advised residents of Lagos state to go out for their last minute shooping, before the restriction order begins from 11pm today, Monday March 30th.
The President of Nigeria, President Buhari had ordered the restriction of movement in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun stat as Nigeria continues to battle the covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement released by the Governor of Lagos state, he said the restriction order will help the state continue its fight against the virus.
The restriction, needless to say, will enhance our chances of defeating Coronavirus for the following reasons:
• Our medical workers will have room to move faster to cases that they need to handle;
• The disease will be contained faster as those infected will be easily identified and isolated as the treatment for the disease demands; and
• Social distancing will be enhanced and more people will be prevented from contracting the disease.
I would like to address the fears of those who have expressed some security concerns about your places of work and shops during this restriction. I have directed the police and other security agents to ensure that there are no security breaches. They will ensure that criminals do not take advantage of this important measure.
The private sector, our market leaders and traders are advised to use the window of opportunity that we have before 11pm to move out inflammable materials, such as petrol, kerosene and others, from their offices and shops, which they are free to open before the restriction begins. They are also advised to switch off all electrical and electronic appliances. These measures are to stave off fire incidents during the 14-day restriction.
Members of the public are advised to also use this window to make last-minute shopping in readiness for the restriction” the governor said in his statememt

Nigerian Disc Jockey, Abass Tijani has lambasted billionaire wife and actress, Regina Daniels for using a Police Officer as her Domestic staff.
Recall few weeks ago, a video made the rounds on social media showing Regina Daniels on set with a uniformed police officer holding a fan to cool off actress (right there on set).
DJ Abass frowned at the action and called it one of the worst images he’d seen because a national security apparatus was reduced to mere ‘domestic servants’.
DJ Abass shared the video on his Instagram page and wrote ;
“This is one of the worst images I’ve seen – when the symbol of a nation’s security apparatus is reduced to THIS. Is this what the Nigeria Police Force has been reduced to – domestic servants – while in UNIFORM – and this appears to be more the norm than the exception – security for hire.
Does anyone realize what this does to the collective psyche of the people – and that of the police? How on earth can the citizenry see the police as an effective symbol of authority and fairness? Shouldn’t the position and integrity of the police be sacrosanct? Will this image inspire the next generation to want to be police officers? Or am i the one being too sensitive? … and look at the demeanour of the police officer?
I get a sense that she’s actually ashamed at this very moment!! Her face says it all. Why is mainstream media not addressing THIS? The lady in the video is Nollywood actress Regina Daniels – Nwoko.”
