The three police officers spotted in a viral video assaulting a young man for refusing to unlock his iPhone in Enugu, have been paraded following their arrest.

The incident occurred on January 4 along Kenyatta Street, Uwani, Enugu.

Parading the officers before newsmen on Monday January 6, Enugu Police Commissioner Mr Ahmed Abdurahman said a panel of inquiry whose report will be used in the orderly room trial of the erring police officers have been constituted.

Commenting on the video which he said left him disturbed, Abdurahman said;

“After the panel’s three days’ work, we will look into the panel’s findings and recommendation. Then, they will definitely face orderly room trial and after all these we know what level of punishment will be meted on them.

“The members of the public should know that the Nigeria Police under the present IG cannot condone and shield such uncivilized characters.

“Nigerians should know that the negative action of the erring personnel is unprofessional and does not in any way reflect the image and attitude of the Nigeria Police. We are here to police with human face and some level of decorum and civility.”

It was further gathered that the officers included two Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) and one police constable.

Legendary Nigerian singer, Daddy Showkey has revealed what led to his decision never to cut his hair again.

The Nigerian singer, who wears his hair in long locs, revealed that he made the decision to never cut his hair after he met a woman popularly known as Sister P.

Sharing a throwback photo of himself and Sister P, the veteran Nigerian singer said she made him realize who he is as an African, and made him proud of who he is as a Nigerian. This led to his decision never to cut his hair again.

He added that he has been looking for the woman for years until he came across a video of her online.

American gospel rapper, Kanye West is reportedly going global with his Sunday Service in 2020, a move which will see him and his team tour Africa and Europe.

According to a report in TMZ, West plans to tour in Europe and Africa in 2020 in a bid to expand the reach of the popular service.

The father of four who appeared at pastor Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston last November is also planning to bring the event to Yankee Stadium in May 2020. It will be part of Osteen’s ‘Night of Hope’ tour, which will take to different cities across the country.

Nigerian Rap Sensation, Rema has revealed the impact growing up in his local hood in Benin City, Edo State, had in forging his sound.

The Mavin Signee had his music criticized by a social media user, but the young star came prepared with a befitting reply.

According to the Twitter user, Rema is misleading foreigners with is meaningless lyrics on his song ‘Lady’, making it seem like the words he strung together were gotten from a Nigerian language.

The twitter user with the handle OnlyDary wrote ;

Rema reacted to the post, stating that every word in his song ‘Lady’ has a meaning, although some of the slangs in the song originate from his hood in Benin City.

He also stated that his creativity has no boundaries, and he makes music freely without caring about what people may think.

Popular Evangelist Mike Bamiloye has narrated how his children cried the day they gave their life to Jesus Christ.

The Christian filmmaker revealed that it was during a certain Christmas after watching a Christian movie.

Sharing on Instagram, Mike Bamiloye who revealed the impact the movie had on his children, used the opportunity to reveal the elements needed to make a good Christian movie.

A reported Nigerian man, who has simply been identified as Ikenna, was said to have been rushed to the hospital after jumping down from the 6th floor of his apartment at Al Nahda 2 towers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Nigerian man jumped down from the building after his girlfriend called the police following a heated argument they were engaged in.

It was gathered that Ikenna had allegedly assaulted the girl during the dispute which prompted her to call the cops. However, upon sighting the officers, he was said to have jumped down.

The paramedics were immediately called in and Ikenna was immediately placed on oxygen. He was subsequently rushed to the hospital as he continues to fight for his life.

50 homosexuals reportedly arrested during orgy in Kano

The Kano Sharia Police best known as Hisbah, recently raided a party allegedly organized by Homosexuals to celebrates their togetherness.

The Sharia law enforcement operatives invaded a compound located at Sabuwar-Gandu quarters in Kano metropolis, where the suspected homosexuals were arrested, prior to the commencement of the planned party.

It was gathered that the organizers of the party were new graduates who planned the party to commemorate their graduation from a tertiary institution.

Each of them was said to have invited their same sex partners to the event.

A senior HISBAH commander, Mallam Tasiu, who confirmed the arrest of the suspected same sex party organizers, disclosed that over 50 gays were involved and arrested.

He said intelligence reports gathered by Hisbah operatives led to the arrest of the suspects, noting that other suspected persons were still at large.

According to him, the suspects are currently undergoing reorientation programmes, according to the teaching of Islam that provides the Hisbah to Counsel such kind of attitudes before taking them to Court or otherwise.

DSS detains man for using sim card previously used by Buhari’s daughter

Operatives of the Nigerian Department of State Service, DSS have allegedly arrested and detained a man, Anthony Okolie for purchasing a sim card that was previously used by Hannan, a daughter of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari.

Okolie told The Guardian on Monday that he bought the MTN mobile phone sim card in 2018, two years prior to his arrest.

He was arrested on Monday, July 22 at Nnedisi Road, Asaba, Delta State.

Okolie was taken to Abuja by the DSS operatives and was kept in custody until his release in December 2019.

Efforts to get DSS reaction to the allegation proved abortive as phone calls and a text message to its spokesman Peter Afunanya were not immediately responded to.

Narrating Okolie’s ordeal, his lawyer Tope Akinyode said Okolie was detained for over 15 weeks by operatives of the Nigerian secret police. Akinyode posited that “the sim card became redundant and was recycled to the market for sale (after Hanan stopped using it).”

“Okolie lawfully bought the sim card after years of redundancy unknown to him who the previous owner was,” Akinyode claimed.

Akinyode said Okolie’s detention was unlawful because he has the receipt for the purchase of the sim card and all other documents pertaining to the sim card.

Okolie’s lawyer told The Guardian that in trying to get his client arrested, the DSS monitored his telephone conversation and initially arrested an elderly person who has a relationship with him until they later found Okolie.

“To start with, all the laws have settled that arrest by proxy is forbidden and unconstitutional in Nigeria,” Akinyode said, “Also, the arrest of the victim over a property which he lawfully obtained is outrageously illegal just as the long detention without trial amounts to unlawful detention.”

His claim is supported by Nigerian law. By virtue of the provisions of section 35(5) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), section 483 of the criminal procedure Act and section 42 of the criminal procedure Code, the police ought not to detain any person for more than 24 hours without a warrant from a magistrate.

Akinyode disclosed that Okolie will proceed to court to file a lawsuit against the DSS and Ms Hanan Buhari, demanding compensation for the breach of his fundamental human rights.

“We are seeking legal redress on the matter,” Akinyode told The Guardian. “His (Okolie) detention for 10 weeks is unlawful and we will not accept such.”

A Saudi Arabian doctor of Nigerian descent who relocated to the Middle Eastern country after leaving his former job in Nigeria, has shared his experience after he received his cumulative of 4 months Salary in the Arab country.

@wakawaka_doctor on Twitter who revealed that he was doing two jobs and seeing a total of 100-120 patients daily while in Nigeria, said his monthly salary in 2013 was N118,000.

However upon relocating to Saudi Arabia in 2014, he was paid $4,500 – N738,000 – which would have been the rate as at 2014 – for seeing a maximum of 5-7 patients daily.

Reality tv star and cosmetologist, Kylie Jenner, has been dubbed a “disconnected Instagram hypocrite” after she shared a photo of herself rocking fur slippers shortly after sharing a post to raise awareness about the Australian wildfires and the animals killed in the fire.

The raging fires in Australia have claimed the lives of so many animals across the country – and according to reports in light of the fire, at least 23 people have lost their lives, 1500 homes have been destroyed and more residents are missing as reports suggest the fires show little sign of abating.

To raise awareness and sympathize with the people of Australia, Kylie re-posted a message on social media about the plight of animal deaths due to the fires.

Kylie’s Instagram stories show an image of a koala being rescued by a fireman with the comment “Over half a billion animals have been killed in Australia. This breaks my heart.”

Pastor reportedly stabs his wife to death during church service before killing himself in front of shocked congregation

A Kenyan pastor, according to reports making the rounds stabbed his wife multiple times during a church service and thereafter, killed himself with the same knife in a murder-suicide which was witnessed by a shocked congregation.

Last Sunday, 5th of January, 2020 Elijah Misiko, an assistant pastor with the Ground for God’s Gospel Church in Mombasa, left his front-row seat and approached his wife, senior pastor Ann Mughoi, on the pulpit and stabbed her with one of the knives he’d hidden in an envelope, police said eyewitnesses told them.

“He walked up to his wife while the church was praying as if he wanted to whisper something to her,” Mombasa sub-county police commander Julius Kiragu said. “Then he took one of the knives and stabbed her (wife) two times. He believed she was dead. He then stabbed himself three times in the stomach and slit his throat.”

Misiko died instantly from his stab wounds and Mughoi died at a local hospital a few hours later, police said.

The couple had been engaged in a long-running feud over the ownership and leadership of the church, Julius Kiragu told CNN.

Back in 2017, Misiko was detained by the police in Mombasa after his wife alleged he planned to kill her. The following day, he was released after police said they found the accusations untrue.

The couple, which had four children, had lived apart since the dispute began two years ago, police said.

“She had been trying to stay away from the husband since the dispute over the ownership of the church began,” Kiragu told CNN. “They had even reported the matter to church leaders but they were unable to resolve the dispute.”

Misiko left a 17-page suicide note in which he accused Mughoi of changing ownership of the church, which he said the couple founded, to her name alone, police said.

Nigerian lady sues airline for N100m for allegedly destroying her motorized wheelchair and abandoning her

A physically challenged Nigerian lady, Blessing Ocheido, who made headlines in October of 2019 for calling out an airline over an alleged destruction of her wheelchair and subsequent negligence, has sued the said airline for N100m.

The Nigerian lady said she decided to sue the airline after they allegedly refused replacing her wheelchair even after her lawyer wrote them in November 2019, a month after the report went viral.

According to Blessing, she’s had enough patience with them and now she feels the court is their last resort.

She took to her Facebook page to write,

I just left the courthouse with my lawyers where I officially filed a suit against Asky for damaging my motorized wheelchair in August, 2019 and adamantly refusing to fix or replaced it.

I am suing them for N100 million damages and I am being expertly represented by my lawyer, Barr. Firsts Baba Isa of FBI LEGAL who took up the matter pro bono. Please help me thank him for his kind gesture and thoroughness in ensuring that justice is served at the end of the day.

He wrote to Asky in November asking them to replace the damaged wheelchair but they have chosen to remain adamant and heartless. We gave them more than enough time to respond to our demands but it is apparent that the courts are our last resort. We have been patient enough.

Some members of the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria, better known as Shi’ites, took to the streets of Abuja earlier today to protest the recent killing of Iranian military commander, General Qasem Soleimani, by a United States airstrike on the 3rd of January this year.

The protesting members of the Islamic group seized the opportunity to also demand the release of their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat who currently are in detention.

Chanting hate songs and slogans like “Death To America.”, the protesting Shi’ites also set ablaze a US flag which impeached President, Donald Trump’s face on it.

American Hip-hop star, Cardi B, seems to be sticking to her guns in her bid to become a Nigerian Citizen and she took to her social media page to ask fans to pick the suitable Nigerian name for her.

Recall the grammy-award winning rapper, days ago, declared her intention to file for Nigerian Citizenship as she feared her President, Donald Trump had incited a needless war with Iran which makes the people of America unsafe. (Read Here)

Popular Nigerian comedienne, Anita Alaire A.K.A Real Warri Pikin took to her social media page to reveal that she was once depressed and suicidal.

She stated that she gave up on life, and battled depression about 18 months ago. The comedienne added that she nearly killed herself at this point in her life.
