The garden city of Port Harcourt came alive on Wednesday as hundreds of Nigerians comprising Port Harcourt residents and others from neighbouring towns of Calabar, Umuahia, Yenagoa, Ubosi and Abuloma converged on Mile 1 market, Diobu, to receive their prizes, in the third prize presentation ceremony of the on-going My Own Don Beta promo packaged by national telecommunication’s company, Globacom.
The Port Harcourt event was a follow –up to the second presentation held last week at Wuse Market, Abuja where another set of Nigerians won different prizes.
The event which was moderated by comedian Godwin Komone, commenced amidst good music provided by the dee jay and was filled with laughter and excitement as the crowd and guests, enjoyed delightful jokes coming from the comedian popularly referred to as ‘Bishop of Osusu Ministry’
Then came the presentation time and the atmosphere changed with the excitement and joyous dance by winners and their relatives as the lucky subscribers receive their prizes one after the other.
A delighted Keke winner, Mrs. Chinedu Okorie, who teaches at Federal Government Girls College, Abuloma, Port Harcourt, said “At the initial stage, I thought it was a scam until when they said I should go to the Head Office. When I got there I saw it was a reality. The Keke is coming at the right time. I will use it for business”
Also, Omang Anthony Oyong, a farmer and a resident of Calabar, who won a grinding machine, said, I will give the machine to my mother who has a shop and it will help to boost her business”
The event was attended by Chairman, House Committee on Services, Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon, Azeru Opara, and Head, Port Harcourt Liaison office, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Kate Ibekwe and Nollywood Star, Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as ‘Mama G’.
Commenting on the event, Hon Azeru Opara said, “I feel elated. What you people are showcasing today is that you appreciate the fact that people are using your Network and you are giving back to the society. It is a good thing. I want you to do more. I urge Nigerians to patronize their own. Globacom is our own. Nigerians should patronize Glo so that Glo can do more for the people”.
The prize presentation was preceded by the draw for next set of winners. 130 prizes including generators, grinding machines, sewing machines and tricycles will be available for presentation at the next event which comes up next Wednesday at Bodija Market, Ibadan, Oyo State.

“You took somebody’s man,” said Vandora to Alex, adding, “I don’t know how I can be friends [with you], we are cool, and you go ki-ki with my man and I am not supposed to feel [bad]?”
She further noted that this is one of the reasons why she can’t remain friends with Alex; she doesn’t trust the reality TV star.

Nigerian lady who accidentally fell from second floor of hostel building celebrates her graduation from University
A Nigerian lady identified as Gbemisola, recently took to Twitter to celebrate her graduation from university.
Gbemisola appeared to use the support of crutches in all the photos she shared but this did little to stop the joy on her face.
Apparently, she had sustained injuries after she accidentally fell from the second floor of a hostel building.

Businesswoman Nwanneka Nkumah has cried out after she was allegedly being sexually assaulted, brutalized by policemen in Lagos.

‘so I was going back home from work at exactly 1am this morning and this police men. I don’t even know what this ones are called, stopped the car I was in and asked us to open the car for a search which we did and he searched everywhere , came to where I was sitting and tried to forcefully open the middle compartment’.
I said “oga use the bottom Abeg don’t force it. Then this police man who I assumed was already high on drug or something started shouting that y must I tell him that, I was first shocked and trying to understand where the sudden shout came from and he immediately started saying, you must be mad and all the curses on his mouth. It was 1am in the morning, and the only thing I could do was try to reach out to my phone while he was still shouting . Immediately he saw my phone, he forcefully tried to take it from me.
I quickly put the phone under my skirt and the police put his hands right under my skirt and took the phone. I tried to reach out to my other phone, he held me sooo tight and broke 1 of my nails, I started bleeding, I got down from the car and held his shirt, then 2 more came out , started dragging me everywhere.
3 men on 1 woman wow @nigerianpolice u can do better. They dragged me untill the broke 3 other nails and all 3 started bleeding again. I held the man, told him to kill me which he actually tried to do. I took off my sneakers and told him we will both die there today. All 3 of them started assaulting me and pushing me around untill people came around and they started begging.
I refused and told them they must take me to the station since that’s what they wanted to do, I held on to his shirt cause they were trying to run away and of purse, all 3 of them over powered me, and then ran away with my sneakers. @nigerianpolice @nigerianpoliceambassador @ruggedybaba I need you people to help ask this people what criminal offense they caught me on before inflicting all these injury.

For those who are too poor to pay 50K, there is a anointed bottle water sourced from the “pool of Bethsheba.” It goes for 10K.
I am not sure it has as much healing power as paying 50K to submerge yourself in the pool itself.

I raped her because she rejected me several times – Suspect
A suspected rapist identified as Adam Kunle has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for reportedly raping a 38-year-old woman while she was sleeping.
The 27-year-old disclosed that he was turned down several times by his victim who for quite some time. Kunle admitted raping the lady while she was sleeping at her home on Monday November 4, following a complaint she made at the Ibafo Police Station.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state’s police spokesperson who confirmed the arrest of the suspect said the victim has been taken to the hospital for medical attention and report. He further disclosed that Kunle will be transferred to the Anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.

According to the Twitter user who shared it, the corpse was fashionably dressed up by her family and made to stand at her funeral.
The lady was made to wear a long dress, scarf, a wig, sunglasses and even had a designer bag to match.

Controversial OAP and religion critic, Daddy Freeze has responded to actor, Yul Edochie’s post on praying for one’s enemies.
Recall that Yul Edochie had said that he does not believe in praying for his enemies, but he would rather wish them what they wish him.
Reacting, Daddy Freeze shared Edochie’s post on his Instagram handle, describing it as an anti-Christ one.
He wrote “this is an ANTI CHRIST post; directly contradicting Christ, undermining the finished work on the cross, while showcasing to the world that you do NOT UNDERSTAND what Christianity is all about. How can you explain the verse below, from the mouth of the savior himself?”
“how can Christ say something and you say you believe something else, dig up an old expired psalm, from an old expired covenant and turn that into a religion while still calling yourself a christian.”
He added that it was disappointing for Yul Edochie to come up with such post.

Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar has said there is nothing wrong if a father decides to know the virginity status of his daughter.
The Nollywood actress was reacting to T.I’s confession about taking his 18-year-old daughter to the gynecologist to check her hymen and confirm she’s still a virgin.
According to Halima, when she was 14, her father took her to see different doctors three times just to be sure she was still a virgin. Halima, however, admitted that she hated her dad a bit for forcing her to undergo virginity test, but still she feels he was only trying to protect her.
She wrote ;

A South-African man identified as Thabang Ngobeni, 25, stabbed his 3-year-old son to death because he believed that sacrificing the child would “cleanse him of the evil that has befallen him”
The body of the boy, Mohau was found in the veld with multiple stab wounds to his face and chest.
“We were alerted to the situation shortly after 16:00,” said Hercules CPF chairman, Johan van Staden. “The body was found not long afterwards.”
Xander Loubser of Bestcare paramedics was part of the search party that found the child’s body.
“When we found him, his little body was already cold,” said Loubser.
Sam Ngobeni, the murder suspect’s father told journalists that his son said he had taken the child into the veld to “offer him to God”
It is alleged that the suspect returned home later and just sat down on a chair, emotionless, his hands and clothes still covered in blood.
“He didn’t try to run away. He just sat there and told us not to worry about Thabang anymore,” a family member said.
The mother of the late toddler Thandi Ngobeni, 24, is still in shock and struggling to come to terms. After undergoing troubles they could not resolve, Thabang and Thandi separated some time ago, but are still legally married.
“How it could have happened. I do not know what got into him,” said a traumatised Ngobeni. “I was so shocked, I did not know what to say or do. All I want is closure.”
According to family members Thabang apparently took Mohau into a veld near the informal settlement on Bremer Street where the toddler was physically assaulted and stabbed multiple times.
