The leadership of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), have released an official statement reacting to the rape allegation against their senior pastor, Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo, by Busola Dakolo, wife of singer Timi Dakolo. Busola in a tell-all interview released in June, acccused Fatoyinbo of raping her when she was a teenager attending his church in Ilorin, Fatoyinbo has since denied the allegation.
In a statement issued in Abuja by the Executive Senior Assistant to the Senior Pastor of COZA, Ademola Adetuberu, today Saturday September 21st, COZA said that Fatoyinbo never raped Busola.
“We see this ugly development fuelled by envy and sheer jealousy as an unnecessary distraction and a fight from the pit of hell against the ministry that God gave Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo, as well as a declaration of war against the Church of Christ to which COZA is a flourishing branch under God’s grace.
“As a result of the recent unprovoked satanic campaign of calumny orchestrated against the leadership and members of our church, Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) by agents of darkness, the church would like to break its silence and clear certain misconception and misinformation being churned out in order to misguide members of the church, public and relevant authorities that we do not support rape.
We stand with anyone who has been a victim of rape. We stand by our Founding and Senior Pastor, Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo, who has been at the receiving end of organized blackmail and all sorts of attacks because of his innocence and we are sure that our faithful and unfailing God will vindicate him very soon.
“As for Busola Dakolo, justice will soon be served. We would like to, again, for the record reiterate that our Senior Pastor, Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo, has never had anything personal to do with her. Busola was not raped by Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo and she had never been in a relationship with him either.
“We are not unaware that certain pastors that felt threatened by the unprecedented growth of COZA and the grace of God upon His Servant are after some of our members, just making every effort to cash in on the attack against God’s servant. There was nothing they had not done behind the scene until this rape scandal. They are accusing our Pastor of snatching their members. Some are even asking why he couldn’t remain in Ilorin. Our focus is the Kingdom of God and winning souls for Christ. COZA is home to those who have sold out to Jesus. At COZA, we believe that every sent servant of God has his or her harvest field given to him or her by God and not by poaching souls or believers of another ministry.

Katume Mohammed, the Kano State programme Officer of Prisoners Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA) has said about 70 percent of prison inmates in Nigeria have not been proven guilty by the court as prescribed by law.
She spoke at a media capacity building seminar organized by the NGO in Kano to train crime reporters on various human rights dimensions in the criminal justice system in the country.
She also criticized prison congestion in the country, saying the majority of the victims of illegal detention are petty offenders who could have been made to render community service commensurate to their offences.
According to her, the imprisonment option for petty offences is tantamount to criminalizing poverty and therefore appealed to criminal justice agencies to work closely with other stakeholders to explore other alternative punitive measures and make less use of imprisonment.
“We want to see that government decriminalizes petty offences by not taking the offenders to prison, there should be an alternative, something that as soon as these offenders are caught in violation of the law they should be asked to do, either community service like cleaning gutters, roads or any similar activity that will serve as a punishment for the offence.
“Detaining them has a cost implication for the government because when they are detained they must be fed, if they are sick the government has to take care of them and all these contribute a lot to the cost of governance,” she said.

Nigerian Rapper, Olanrewaju #Pelepele, has finally been committed to mother earth after he took his own life out of depression at his house in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Pelepele, who was affiliated with Olamide’s YBNL took his life yesterday, a week after he shared an emotional video online talking about how depressed he was over his inability to fully break into the music industry despite putting in 10 years of work.

The Sokoto State police command have confirmed the arrest of Usman Abubakar, a 21-year-old man for raping 10 of his boss’ children.
According to the Zonal Commander of the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Person and other Related Matters, Hassan Tahir, the young man confessed to the act following his arrest by police officers.
Abubakar has allegedly been sodomising the children since he got into their parents’ home at Rungumi area of Sokoto South Local Government Area of Sokoto State 10 years ago. He said he was introduced to the act by one Mallam Muntari when he was only five years old.
Tahir confirmed that that the suspect will soon be charged to court.

A young lady at a tailoring shop in Lagos, Adenike Fatai, committed suicide just three months after her boyfriend identified as Bayo Atanda did same.
The 25-year-old indigene of Kwara State who lived with her mother at Igbekele Street, Iyana Cele bus stop, Shibiri area of Lagos State has reportedly been battling depression since her boyfriend died and she took a poisonous substance suspected to be ‘sniper’.
Confirming the death of his daughter, Adenike’s father said he never knew she was battling depression. Idris said he only spoke to her on the phone since he separated from her mother.
“Since her mother and I separated, I usually talked to her (Fatai) on the phone. Probably she would have told me what was bothering her if we had the opportunity of seeing each other” he said.
A young Nigerian rapper identified as Olanrewaju Pelepele, has allegedly taken his own life barel 10 days ago after he shared an emotional video online talking about how depressed he was and his plans to take his own life.
At the time, he wasn’t taken serious and now, he has made good on his promise and has taken his life.
He was found dead in his apartment on Friday, September 20th 2019. His death stems from his long battle with depression and his inability to fully break into the Nigerian music industry despite 10 years of hard work.

The Department of State Services has charged pro-democracy activist, Omoyele Sowore, to court for treasonable felony, cyberstalking President Muhammadu Buhari among other offences.
Sowore was arrested on August 3, 2019 in Lagos for planning a series of protests against bad governance in Nigeria tagged.
Another activist, Olawale Mandate, arrested in Osun, has also been charged by the DSS.

A 27-year-old housewife has asked an Ado-Ekiti customary court to dissolve her 13-year-old marriage to her husband, one Azeez Solomon.
The woman, who resides at Fabian Hotel, along Ilawe road in Ado-Ekiti, told the court that she had made efforts to make the union work but Solomon had been impossible.
According to her, her husband was not performing his responsibilities in the family. The mother of three said she was the one paying the children’s school fees until last year, when he took over.
Favour said whenever her husband misbehaved and she pointed it out, he would retort, saying he would kill her and nothing would happen. She added that whenever they had s*xual intercourse, her husband would demand for the cloth she used to clean up, saying she found that strange and had to stop him from having s*x with her.
The woman alleged Solomon was fond of patronising a herbalist, especially when he was ill, and fond of bringing black soap to the home. Favour said her husband wouldn’t allow her access to his room, which he allegedly locked all the time.
Admitting that Solomon assisted her financially when she started her business of selling phones and accessories, she said he, however, asked her to leave the shop he had offered her for the business when her business boomed.
“He said I was disturbing him, whereas it was the business I was using to maintain the children. I pleaded with him but he refused,” she said.
Favour maintained she was no more interested in the union and wanted custody of the children – Marvelous, 9, and Christian, 5, both boys, and Mercy, 2, a female. Forty-year-old Solomon, a resident of No. 2, Omisanajan Street, Ado-Ekiti, said his wife was his sales girl when he met her and they both fell in love and decided to marry each other.
He added that even after the marriage, they didn’t separate the business between them. He said after the union, his wife started misbehaving, and denied her allegation that he was not paying the children’s school fees.
Solomon denied the allegation of non-access to his room, saying he still loved his wife and the court should plead with her on his behalf to come back home. The president of the court, Mrs Olayinka Akomolede, adjourned the case till October 24, 2019 for judgment.
A teenage armed robber who has been terrorizing residents of the Agga community in Rivers state has been apprehended.
According to reports, the armed robber was caught and tied with rope by local security body, (OSPAC) Onelga security planning & Advisory Committee.
It was gathered that the criminal who has been identified as a native of Ndoni operated using a local constructed gun.

Recall that the actresses’ Instagram outburst stemmed from Lizzy Anjorin’s claim of Toyin Abraham trolling her colleagues with fake accounts and supporting an Instagram user that sent out a false report of being subjected to a drug search at a Saudi airport against her.
Reacting to the social media fracas, the TAMPAN President stated that the actresses will be sanctioned if they go with the fights on social media. He also warned other entertainers against towing same lane as same action will be meted out to them.
