A Kogi University lecturer identified as Dr Jamiu Abdullahi, has been confirmed dead after he slumped at a hospital while awaiting his test result.

The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies’ lecturer who last collected his salary in February 2019, was reportedly unable to seek medical treatment for the High Blood Pressure (HBP) which led to his death.

“The family of the deceased could not take him to a better hospital because of lack of fund. The deceased had nothing in his account as he has not been regularly paid by the State government.

“It is unfortunate that the drug that was prescribed for him by his doctor could not be bought because we could not raise anything. And the situation got worsened yesterday at about 2pm when he died,” a member of his family said.

Kogi State University Public Relations Officer, Mr Jacob Edegbo who confirmed the death of the lecturer who has already been buried according to Islamic rites, denied claims of his death being as a result of being owed.

”Late Dr Abdullahi has been sick for some time. When he went to the hospital for check-up, before the result came out, he gave up the ghost” he said.

Popular comic actor, Hafiz Oyetoro, aka Saka, recently celebrated the 16th anniversary of his marriage. The ever-smiling and charismatic actor, who also teaches English and drama at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, Lagos, in an interview with PUNCH, disclosed that he met his wife, Olaide Saidat, when he started teaching at the college in 2001. She was a final-year student of the institution at the time.

“The day I met her for the first time, she came to submit her final year project to her department. She studied Mathematics at the college. She looked very quiet and composed. Immediately I felt that she might make a good wife. I had never felt that way about any woman before. The more I looked at her, the more I told myself that I would like to make her my wife.”

Sixteen years after, the actor still could not tell if he had fallen in love at first sight on that occasion.

Davido’s uncle Ademola Adeleke loses as Supreme Court upholds Oyetola as Osun state governor

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Gboyega Adetola as the governor elect of Osun state, today, July 5th.

PDP candidate in the election, Ademola Adeleke, an Uncle of singer Davido, was dissatisfied with the result announced by INEC after the election which held in September 2018 and filed a petition at the tribunal. The tribunal in a ruling delivered in March, declared Adeleke winner of the election in March. Gboyega appealed the verdict at the Court of Appeal

In May, the appeal court gave judgement in favour of the APC candidate. Adeleke then filed an appeal at the Supreme court.

Delivering judgement this morning, five of the seven judges on the panel were in favour of Oyetola, leaving Adeleke with just two.

Senator Elisha Abbo spent the night in police custody, after he surrendered himself to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Thursday for questioning, following the viral video of him assaulting a nursing mother.

The FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Bala Ciroma who spoke to Channels Television, said Senator Elisha Abbo was detained by the police to enable detectives complete investigation on the alleged assault.

The Senator who represents Adamawa North Senatorial District, sparked an outrage on social media which led to a protest, after he was spotted in a viral video hitting a nursing mother at a sex toy shop in Abuja.

An America-based female Nigerian artist’s Toyin Odutola has become the third highest-paid Nigerian artist of all time after her drawing ‘Compound Leaf’ sold at the Sotheby’s for £471,000 which is roughly N215m.

This record-breaking sale puts Odutola behind fellow female artist, Njideka Akunyili-Crosby, and the legendary Ben Enwonwu. After moving from Nigeria to America at the age of five, Ojih Odutola became aware of her blackness and began questioning her identity.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo has finally debunked the claims of Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo officiating his wedding to Busola, and also being a choir director at COZA.

This came after he supported a former COZA staff who accused Pastor Fatoyinbo of allegedly raping her, and offering monetary settlement for her to remain silent.

Timi Dakolo who shared a video from his wedding ceremony, revealed that the Pastor who officiated his wedding was Pastor Seyi of Global Impact church. He also rubbished claims of receiving monetary and car gifts from Pastor Fatoyinbo after their wedding.

Lady reportedly faces up to 20 years in prison after she was filmed licking ice cream and placing it back in a store freezer (Video)

A new viral video shows a woman licking ice cream out of a bowl from the freezer of a super mart and thereafter placing it back into the freezer -her despicable actions has angered web users and action is now being taken against her.

In the video, which a lot of people found offensive, the woman is seen dipping her tongue into a bowl of ice cream in a Texas Walmart while her friend filming, encouraged her in the background, saying, “lick it, lick it” .

After passing her tongue across the top of the ice cream, she covered it back and put the bowl into the fridge with other untouched bowls of ice cream. The video was shared online for clout but they got just the opposite reaction.

Police believe they have identified the young woman after “detectives obtained surveillance video placing a woman matching the suspect description in the Lufkin store on June 28 around 11 p.m.”. Authorities are waiting to verify her identity before issuing a warrant for her arrest.

Authorities are also searching for the friend who recorded the video. The woman who was filmed licking the ice cream could reportedly face a second-degree felony charge of tampering with a consumer product.

The Lufkin police department confirmed to NBC news the charge comes with a 2 to 20-year prison sentence and up to $10,000 in fines.

After the video went viral, the creamery released a statement addressing the incident,.

They informed customers that the behavior “will not be tolerated”. As a safety precaution, all containers of the ice cream have reportedly been removed from the store’s shelves, the company said.

Busola Dakolo has officially filed a rape complaint against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) with the police, days after going public with the allegation in a tell-all interview.

Recall that Bukola, wife of popular Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, had alleged that the rape incident occurred while she was still below 18 and at her Parents’ home in Ilorin.

She is the second person to have accused Pastor Fatoyinbo of rape, after Ese Walters.

It was also gathered that the police has already launched an investigation, following the complaint.

The Global Impact church Pastor who stated that he supports any process that will bring justice, healing and resolution in the matter, wrote;

Facebook user, Agatha Ayerite, who shared the story online, wrote,
