Nigerian Lawyer and Entertainment Consultant, Ayo Shonaiya, has reacted to the viral video of a 32-year-old man, Jeffert Ewohime, who destroyed five cars at the Nigeria High Commission in London yesterday June 17th.
Ayo in a piece shared on his Instagram page, said the man acted out of frustration as the staff of the commission in London can be very rude and dismissive to Nigerians who come there for one thing or the other.
Ayo said he had the opportunity to visit the Commission three weeks ago and he was also tempted to detsroy the cars parked outside the Commission.

When I saw the viral video of the smashed cars at the Nigeria High Commission, something occurred to me. That could have been ME smashing those same cars just 3 weeks ago. Honest to God! But we will not go into the issue of the frustrations people encounter at the NHC here. And please, I am NOT condoning this violent and criminal act, HOWEVER I want to try to understand it. What made this guy ramp up like this.
When I was frustrated at this same place, I thought of at least smashing the side mirror of that same Black Benz, but I didn’t. But it doesn’t make me better or “saner” than the Jeffery guy. Now we know his name because the High Commission has put his whole biodata on blast, and Nigerian papers and bloggers have latched on to it because it is hot content. But I wanted to know who the guy really is and also wait for his side of the story, so I researched.
The guy is a Security Guard and was once an Ambassador with the Prince’s Trust (headed by Prince Charles). By what I have seen from people who have worked with him, he is well liked and loved by all so what could have happened for him to act out like he did on Monday? Even this video of him shows him like a deep thinker who doesn’t like to be put in a “box”. Maybe there’s more to this young man, but of course in Nigeria, when Govt officials or Police or Politicians frustrate your life and you react, they will say you’re “crazy”. Meanwhile majority of us that live in that country are crazy at different levels. Because I have suffered in the hands of those people at the High Commission in London recently, I will hold my summation until we hear from him what really happened. He will need a Lawyer.

I can tell you that the Staff at the Nigeria High Commission can frustrate your life and run you mad, but what tipped the scale with this young man. That’s what we should be asking. I wouldn’t necessarily believe everything the High Commission is saying. Just weeks ago they were telling me that I must have filled in wrong place of birth for my own child! I would want to find out more about this young Nigerian and if there are any underlying issues to his actions. There are 2 sides to every story, and everybody is entitled to a Defence by Law.
Five Nigerians who raped a woman in the course of their robbery operation at Community 25 in Tema have been arrested by the Prampram Divisional Police Command.
The suspects were apprehended after being on the police wanted list for some time. Their modus operandi is attacking mobile money vendors, mostly women in their house with machetes and guns and raping them after taking away their valuables.
Confirming the incident, Chief Superintendent Cecilia Arko, Crime Officer of the Prampram Divisional Police Command, narrated that barely a month ago, four among the five suspects attacked a couple at their residence at about 3:00 am.
According to Arko, the suspects who were aiming at a mobile money vendor, mistakenly went to the house of the couple and held them hostage before demanding for money and valuables. For the couple’s inability to provide what they wanted, Chief Superintendent Arko noted one of the suspects angrily sent their female victim to one of the rooms where he removed her underwear and forcibly hard sex with her while his accomplices filmed the odious act with a cell phone.
The Crime Officer indicated that last Thursday, the couple were walking in the neighbourhood when the female victim spotted the suspect who removed his mask before filming the act, adding that she quickly alerted the husband who confronted the suspect on the street. However, according to her, the suspect decided to take to his heels upon seeing the couple but the male victim managed to raise alarm which attracted neighbours who apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the police station.
She further said when the suspect was interrogated, he admitted the offence and further led the police to their hideout in the area where his accomplices were also arrested including the gang leader who brought the suspects from Nigeria to Ghana to do criminal activities such as internet fraud and armed robbery.
A lady based in Lagos is lucky to be alive after robbers shot at her car last Sunday on Eko bridge. Her glass was shattered but thankfully, she escaped unharmed.

According to the guy, named, Charly Kay, he says, “Yahoo sweet, but legit sweet pass”.
Apparently, Charly wanted to dupe a Caucasian woman but he ended up falling in love with her.
He said friends warned him not to get emotional with his “client” but he couldn’t help it.
They are set to get married as she’d be traveling back to Nigeria soon to pay his groom price.

A mother tore off her nine-year-old son’s penis with the help of her lesbian lover. They later beheaded the boy because “he reminded her of her dad”
Mum Rosana Cândido, 27, and Kacyla Pessoa, 28, of Brazil, stabbed 9-year-old Rhuan over a dozen times. They removed all the skin from his face and used a knife to try to gouge out his eyeballs to prevent possible recognition.
They then butchered the boy’s body.
They attempted to burn some of the boy’s body part on a barbeque but botched it so they stuffed his remains in a suitcase and dumped it in a sewer.
The body was later found in the suitcase, police said. Other parts were found in two backpacks at their home in Brazil.
The women are accused of tearing off Cândido’s son Rhuan’s penis a year ago during a surgery done at home with “rudimentary tools”. The two women are said to have told investigators they did it because Rhuan “wanted to become a girl.”
According to local reports, “After removing his penis, the women said they sewed an improvised version of the female organ onto the mutilated area.”
The lovers are said to have confessed everything to cops in Samambaia, about 20 miles from capital Brasilia. They face homicide, torture and concealing a corpse charges.
Cândido reportedly claimed her son was a “burden” and a hindrance to her relationship with Pessoa. She also “felt hatred and no love” for him because he reminded her of father, who allegedly abused her.
Rhuan’s dad, who lives in Acre, is said to have told officers that Cândido ran away with the boy five years ago when he lost custody. She then went to live with Pessoa and her daughter, now aged nine.
Pessoa’s daughter has been put into care.
Police chief Guilherme Melo told O Tempo: “She killed her son, quartered, decapitated, plucked the skin and tried to get rid of the body. It was a very terrible case.”

One Divine Ejem, whose body was found lying in a pool of blood by a roadside in Aba, has been laid to rest.
The body of Divine from Nkporo in Ohafia local government area of Abia State, was seen lying at Bata junction off factory road, along Aba-Owerri road last month.
He was lying with his legs spread apart and bloodied human organs can be seen in the middle of his legs. His genitals had been cut off. He was also bruised in his inner thigh, as though he had been burnt with an iron.
His girlfriend and family members took to their Facebook page to mourn his tragic death – Oge who described the deceased as her “soulmate” swore that those behind the brutal murder will die before the end of this year.

British born Ghanaian Media personality, Peace Hyde has shared how she’s currently suffering from a major grade 3 ligament tear on her right leg and according to her doctors, she won’t be able to move freely for the next three months.

A Nigerian man today went on rampage, destroying cars at the Nigerian High Commission’s office in London, United Kingdom after officials in the Commission reportedly failed to act on his request.
A video making the rounds on social media, shows the Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK, George Oguntade, inspecting the vandalised cars and asking how it happened.

Meanwhile, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has described the attitude of a 32-year old Nigerian, Jeffrey Apkovweta Ewohime who destroyed several properties of the Nigerian embassy in London as despicable and condemnable.
In a statement by her media aide, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said that such an attitude was unpatriotic, and an unconscionable act of indiscipline, Dabiri-Erewa said she received a report that Emohime went to the Nigeria Embasy in London on Monday, He had approached the Embassy to collect his passport which expired since Nov 2017 at about 2 p.m and was told collection of passports closes at 1pm.
He then insisted on collecting his passport , and was told to bring his collection slip which he could not produce.
According to reports from the Embassy, it would of course be wrong to hand over his passport to him , without his collection slip,He thereafter left agitated and returned from a nearby hotel to destroy about seven cars,5 belonging to the mission, and 2 to visitors who parked near by.
His attempt to destroy the High Commissioner’s car failed as it is a bullet proof. “I am told that he has been arrested by the police. ““ This is a despicable act, which must be condemned by all. Of course, the law must take its course”.
Dabiri-Erewa implored Nigerians abroad to exercise restraint and be good ambassadors of Nigeria at all times in all circumstances.

Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has come to the aid of ailing former Nigerian goalkeeper, Peter Fregene.
The 72-year-old who represented Nigeria in the 1968 Olympic games, had been bedridden since 2016, battling a yet-to-be disclosed ailment.
Otedola got wind of the footballer’s ailing state, sent his representatives to Sapele, Delta state where the footballer resides and has instructed that he be airlifted from the airport in Edo state to Lagos state today Friday June 14th where he will be given medical attention at the Reddington hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos state.
This is not the first time the billionaire would be extending his generosity to footballers. Recall that in April, he donated $50,000 for the medical treatment of ex-footballer and coach, Christian Chukwu in a UK hospital.

Health authorities in Kericho County are on a red alert over a suspected case of Ebola.
This was after a patient exhibited suspected symptoms of the haemorrhagic fever at Kericho County Referral Hospital.
County officials on Monday said the woman had travelled from Malaba, a town in Busia County on the border of Kenya and Uganda, to see her spouse.
She was initially admitted at Siloam Hospital before being transferred to Kericho County Referral Hospital.
“A female patient presented at our facility today with complaints of headache, hotness of the body, puffy face, some diarrhoea, and nausea of acute onset,” said Ms Margaret Okirio, the administrator at Siloam Hospital.
“On further interrogation, she admitted to having travelled from Malaba where she alleges to reside to see her husband who works in Kericho.”
Ms Okirio said they transferred the patient, acting on Health ministry’s alert on Ebola that requires all medical facilities in Kenya and the public to report any medical cases with symptoms of the fever.
“This patient needed close and further elaborate investigations while under appropriate isolation requirements till diagnosed for targeted treatment to be given,” she said. “The hospital clinical team also went ahead to consult and seek further guidance from the county surveillance team, who advised to have the patient transferred to the county referral hospital for further management while on isolation. Once the appropriate preparations had been done.”
The hitherto unidentified patient was admitted to Kericho County Referral Hospital on Sunday and was immediately put in isolation.
“The county disease surveillance team immediately took over the matter and took all the necessary precautions to ensure that there was minimal contact between the patient and other persons at the hospital including the staff and the other hospital users,” the county government said in a statement.
“The county Department of Health Services is monitoring this potential case very closely and is working with the National Government to ensure that all essential procedures are followed to protect public health and safety.”
Blood samples from the patient were sent to the Kenya Medical Research Institute (Kemri) in Nairobi for further analysis.
“The preliminary test results are expected to be ready within the next 12 to 24 hours,” the statement read in part. Kindly note that no visits will be allowed into the isolation room.”
The current outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the worst on record after an epidemic that struck mainly in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone between 2014-2016, killing more than 11,300 people.
It has spread to Uganda, where two family members a woman and her five-year-old grandson died of Ebola last week after travelling to the DRC to take care of a dying family member and attend the funeral.
The boy’s brother, aged three, is also infected, and several family members are in isolation.
On Friday, the World Health Organisation said the outbreak does not yet warrant being declared a “public health emergency of international concern”, meaning it would require a “coordinated international response”
A 19-year-old Nigerian man, Eniola Aluko, has been shot dead by yet-to-be-identified persons at Plumstead, London last Friday June 14th.
According to UK’s Metropolitan Police, Eniola died after sustaining gunshot wounds to the neck and chest. The police say a distress call was put across by residents of the area at about 5:00 p.m.
The police arrived the scene and found the deceased with gunshot injuries on his neck and chest.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Saturday June 15th, gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the neck and chest.
The police added that an 18-year-old man and four other teenagers have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Detective Inspector John Marriott, while speaking on the incident, said;
“I am continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time, who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact police. The shooting took place not far from Plumstead Railway Station and I would urge anyone who was commuting to or from this station to come forward. It was also sunny at the time and a number of people would have been enjoying the weather in the area of Plumstead Gardens; I need you to come forward. Although we have now made five arrests I am continuing to ask for your help to progress this investigation”.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office on Monday secured the conviction of one Akhigbe Gabriel before Justice M.G. Umar of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State.
Gabriel was convicted on a three count charge of impersonation and intent to defraud through the internet contrary to Section 22(2)(b)(ii) of the Cyber crime (prohibition, prevention etc) Act 2015 and punishable under Section 22(2)(b)(IV)) of the same Act.
Gabriel who at various times presented himself as Mathew Swan, Mathew Chang, David Wong, Richard Swan and Mark Peter was alleged to have, with intent to defraud sent electronic messages to one Candy Selfie, an American lady in order to hoodwinked her.
One of the counts reads: “That you Akhibge Gabriel (a.k.a Mathew Aswan, Mathew Chang , David Wong, Richard Swan and Mark Peter) sometime between 2018 and 2019 at Uromi within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did fraudulently impersonate the identity of one Michael Chan by sending an American picture to Candy Selfie a lady in America through the internet which picture and identity you claim to be our own with the intent to obtain money from her, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 22 (2)(b)(ii) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition Prevention etc) Act, 2015 and punishable under Section 22 (2)(b)(IV) of the same Act”.
Akhibge pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
Based on his plea, the prosecution counsel, F.A. Jirbo preyed the court to sentence and convict the defendant as contained in the plea bargain agreement.
However, the defence counsel, Peter Asemota pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy as his client was a first time offender, a youth who has become remorseful and has promised never to go back to the crime.
An upcoming Nigerian rapper simply identified as Ziggy, died yesterday Sunday June 16th after falling at a 4-storey building in Paradise estate Lekki, Lagos state where he resides.
According to reports, Ziggy was in the estate taking a walk when he unknowingly stepped into an open space which was supposed to house an elevator. He fell immediately, broke his bones and was rushed to the hospital where he died.
His remains has been deposited in the morgue. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

A 24-year-old Afolayin Sunday, whose area of armed robbery specialization was to attack and dispossess female POS attendants of cash sales, has been arrested by the Ogun state police command.
According to a press statement released by the command’s spokesperon, Abimbola Oyeyemi, Sunday who is a NCE graduate of Maths/Computer from Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Otto-Ijanikin, Lagos, was arrested following a violent attack on a POS attendant in Ijoko area of Ogun State on June 6th.
He had approached the female attendant, one Adesina Omolola, at a POS point, on the pretence of wanting to transact a business, only to, thereafter, attack her, dispossessing the victim of the cash sales already made.
”The suspect walked into the POS shop, pretended to be a customer who came to transact business. Realizing that the victim was alone in the shop, he grabbed her on the neck and brought out a UTC knife”.
He ransacked the lady’s drawer and made away with the cash sale of #42, 000 before bolting.
The victim raised alarm and the suspect was apprehended.
Over 80 Nigerians said to be living illegally in Malaysia were arrested in two raids in Kajang and Puchong last night June 16th.
The raids by the Immigration Department started at 10.30pm in Kajang following complaints that most of the Nigerians and other Africans residing in the area were involved in different social vices which includes Cultism and Cybercrime
Malaysian Immigration director-general, Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud, who supervised the arrest, said that several department officers were injured during the operation after wrestling with illegals who refused to coperate.
According to Khairul Dzaimee, there were 118 foreigners at the first raid at an apartment area with 90 illegals from Nigeria (78), the Philippines (six), Pakistan (one), India (one) and four children, aged one to three, whose nationality were not disclosed.
In another raid at an entertainment centre in Puchong, 40 illegal immigrants from Sierra Leone (23), Nepal (eight), Tanzania (one), Guinea (three) and Kenya (one), Myanmar (two) and Nigeria (two) were arrested.
An update has been served about the Nigerian man and his wife who were declared missing after they left home to visit a friend based in Kogi.
According to an update by the deceased man’s nephew, the couple were were killed in a ghastly motor accident along Kabba-Lokoja road.
The deceased man’s nephew who shared the sad news on Twitter wrote;
“Thank you all for the great support. Sadly the couple, my uncle and his wife died in a ghastly motor accident along Kabba-Lokoja road on 07.06.19. But we had no information of that until yesterday. May their souls RIP. Pls keep their children in your prayers”
