Zainab Balogun recounted how the boys cried when they were told that their father was going to marry her.
”I will never ever forget when we told them that we were going to get married. It was such a special moment. I remember they were sitting down and I was recording, they didn’t know I was recording and I said to them that me and Daddy are thinking getting married.. so how would you feel if I became your mum and we got married? It was so weird they burst into tears. They were so happy and for me, it just made sense” she said
World’s richest living man, Jeff Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie have officially ended their 25 years marriage after settling their divorce.
Jeff, 55, will keep 75 percent of their Amazon stocks, leaving MacKenzie, 48, with just a quarter which represents a four percent stake in the company worth around $32billion at current value.

A young Nigerian man who was pretty desperate to make quick money has landed himself in trouble after he was caught stealing a woman’s panties in Ifo area of Ogun state.
The sad incident which took occurred on Thursday evening attracted a large crowd – according to reports, the man was disgraced as he was stripped n*ked and beaten by residents who paraded him in public.
He reportedly confessed that he was given the task to steal female underwear for a fee. The suspect was later dragged to the police station.
A young newlywed returning from her honeymoon died in the sky after an airline pilot repeatedly refused a doctor’s requests to land, court papers claim.
Brittany Oswell’s family say a doctor on board the flight from Honolulu, Hawaii, requested that the plane land three times after the 25 year-old suffered a pulmonary embolism, a potentially fatal blood clot blocking an artery between the heart and lungs.
But the American Airlines pilot reportedly refused to divert flight during the April 2016 medical emergency, it is claimed.
Oswell stopped breathing in the air, and was taken to Baylor Medical Center in Texas as soon as the jet landed. The aspiring nurse, who had just married husband Cory Oswell, died in hospital three days later.
Brittany’s family are now suing American Airlines, saying the flight should have been diverted, and that a faulty defibrillator on board further hindered her chances of survival.
Her mom Tina Starks, from Columbia in South Carolina, told the Honolulu Star Advertiser: ‘She needed that plane to land so she could get care from an actual hospital, not on the flight.’
Explaining the heartache caused by her daughter’s sudden death, Tina added:
‘You never get over this.
‘You know how to manage your pain and that’s a daily, hourly, minute-by-minute process.
‘You have to live in a reality that you don’t want to participate in.’
Brittany’s father Chris Starks also hit out at American Airlines for not responding to them beyond acknowledging their lawsuit after Brittany’s death.
They want flight attendants to receive minimal medical training and regular tests performed on on-board medical equipment to ensure it is working.
The Starks’ case was transferred from a court close to their South Carolina home to Fort Worth in Texas on March 27.
A judge explained that locating the case close to where Brittany died, and near American Airlines’ corporate headquarters would make it easier to facilitate witnesses.

Little Hope is blooming years after he was rescued by Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Loven, after he was branded a witch by his family and left to starve to death in Akwa Ibom state.
The little boy had wandered the streets for eight months when Anja got a phone call and immediately led a rescue team to bring him to the Children’s Education and Development Foundation (ACAEDF) also known as ‘Land of Hope’ named after the boy.

The Lagos police command says it has arrested two persons in connection with the killing of a medical graduate of the University of Lagos, Stephen Urueye, at the Idi Araba area of the metropolis, yesterday April 4th. Urueye had his convocation on Wednesday April 3rd.
According to the Lagos police command, the two suspects, Gbadebo Jimoh and Malik Adeboye, were arrested by men of the Itire Police division.

Both have been transferred to the state criminal investigation department at the Yaba area of Lagos for further investigation.

Medical students of the Lagos University Teaching hospital, on Friday afternoon staged a protest over the gruesome murder of their colleague, Dr Stephen Urueye.
Urueye who had his graduation from the school on Tuesday April 2nd, was stabbed to death by suspected armed robbers who accosted him while he was walking along Idi Araba road where the hospital is located.
The students called for justice for their colleague.
Following the controversial reports trailing teenage actress, Regina Daniels over her recent lavish escapades, another unconfirmed report is claiming she’s been flying in billionaire politician, Ned Nwoko’s private jet after it was alleged that the 59-year-old secretly married her as his 6th wife last week.

Dr. Urueye Stephen aka Sarutobi, a House Officer at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, who graduated from the University of Lagos on Tuesday April 2nd, has died after he was stabbed by robbers.
According to reports, Stephen was walking along Idi Araba road where LUTH is situated when he was accosted by the robbers who stabbed him before carting away his properties found on him.
His friend and former UNILAG SUG president, Adeyeye Olorunfemi, who took to Facebook to mourn him, wrote;

We lost this young Doctor who wants to save lives to insecurity.
He died 24 hours after his graduation. After 8 years of struggle in the jungle called Nigeria.
He was stabbed by armed robbers and died of stab wounds right in front of a government teaching hospital- LUTH.

New reports have unveiled another side of the tragic story of Kolade Johnson, victim of the fatal shooting in the Onipetesi area of Lagos, and it revealed he was not given immediate help after he got shot at by SARS operatives, and that is why he died.
The Cable News reports it thus:
The deceased, who was watching an English premiership match between Hotspur and Tottenham, left a bar in the area when he heard the cry for help.
It was around 5pm on Sunday, Johnson, like others in the bar, was enjoying the ongoing match when suddenly, a young lady jumped into the bar.
“Help me, kidnappers are taking my boyfriend,” she cried.
Immediately, the football fans sprang on their feet and at the scene was two men dragging Ismail, a known face in the neighborhood, into a bus. They wouldn’t know they were men of the police anti- cultism squad until the uniform of one of the men inside the bus gave this out.
Ismail, a video producer, wore dreadlocks and he had become the usual suspect for the policemen who judged him a criminal just because of the way he looked.
“The guy held on to the pole by the bar, resisting being dragged into the bus,” Esther, one of the bartenders who was on duty that Sunday evening, explained when TheCable visited.
“Then one man came out of the bus, asking people to leave. He started shouting, and threatening to shoot if the crowd wouldn’t go off them.”

Ismail isn’t a criminal, and so, Johnson and others who knew this wouldn’t allow the policemen have their way. They stayed, this time asking the gun-wielding men what exact offence Ismail committed.
As expected, the crowd dissolved after the policemen opened fire. But, it was strange to many who had taken cover inside Kingstine-Jo, the nearby bar where they had come to watch the live English premiership match, see Johnson still on the same spot.
“A bullet was already lodged in his body,” a taxi driver whose park was by the spot Johnson stood said.
“He was already bleeding, but many didn’t know.”
How would Johnson still be standing here? The policeman fired another shot. Again, a bullet found its way into his loin.
“That was when he fell, and started crawling,” the driver added.

Within the minutes, everywhere was covered with blood. Battling to survive, but there was no immediate help. While some witnesses blamed taxi drivers whose park was just beside the scene and could have offered to rush Johnson to the hospital, a driver argued they weren’t opened for work as it was a Sunday.
He must have lost much blood before a neighbor, driving past, stopped and Johnson, dripping of blood, got lifted into the car.
ABANDONED FOR HOURS
“They did not even rush at us to take him as an emergency,” Boluwade Awakan, Johnson’s stepbrother, told TheCable as he blamed officials the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja, where the victim was taken to after being shot.
“Nobody responded in time. One medical guy came and only touched his neck, and he went in, saying BID (brought in dead).
“They left his body on one stretcher and even when declared dead, the morgue refused to take his body in. They were requesting for one paper or the other.”
Following the incident, angry youths in the area blocked the highway and the journey took hours for Awakan to get some papers from a police station nearer to where Johnson was killed.

Returning to the hospital around 12am, the family was asked to make a N50,000 payment without which his body wouldn’t be admitted into the morgue.
“There was no POS and they wouldn’t take bank transfer, and in the middle of that night someone had to rush out again to look for ATM to withdraw. It was devastating.”
Johnson’s body eventually found a space at the morgue around 2am.

The Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu has said that the federal government is working on ensuring that Nigerians have free access to the internet in public places.
He made this known during a one-day stakeholders workshop in Abuja on the role of the Public Internet Access for Economic Development.
“We are trying to ensure the vision of free Wi-Fi all over, particularly in public spaces, at the airport, schools and all that,” Mr. Shittu said on Tuesday.
He further spoke on the government’s effort for internet to be made available not just for privileged Nigerians but for everyone.
“The Federal Ministry of Communication will ensure the privacy of beneficiaries of the free internet services is protected,” he said.
He however called for more investments because the government alone cannot handle the task, especially the financial aspect.
Mr. Shittu went on to list some of the challenges faced by the government concerning the provision of free internet access as high cost of access, low broadband penetration, poor internet infrastructure, and poor enabling environment.
“The solutions to these challenges are beyond government’s intervention,” he said.
“In order to bridge the existing digital divide and encourage more Nigerians to participate in the global digital economy, private organisations and international partners are encouraged to support the government in different strategic ways.
“One of the models being adopted recently is the provision of free internet access by Public Internet Access Providers (PIAPs) in strategic locations to help more Nigerians connect to the internet in pursuit of social and developmental objectives for a return on investment (ROI) through advertisement or other means.
“This is expected to fuel some changes especially in creating jobs and help local SMEs compete with global brands.”

A controversial prophet has cautioned those who accused him of using his children for sacrifice after all three of them died in an accident.
The prophet named Madzibaba Masango in Zimbabwe lost his three children in a fatal car accident. He also lost his mother’s sister in the same accident but others in the car survived.
Following their deaths, social media users began accusing the pastor of sacrificing his kids for rituals. Others asked why he didn’t foresee their death yet he claims to foresee other people’s future.
Madzibaba Masango set the record straight in the short interview on Star FM radio.
He said:
I was at a crusade in Kwekwe on a Friday. My wife was home and unbeknown to me she decided to go to our kids’ boarding school in Rusape to collect them.
It was late when they drove to Rusape; maybe she was worried about Cyclone Idai because reports were saying it may affect those areas. She did not tell me. Our plan had been to go together on Saturday for visit.
She says she left around 3pm for Rusape and it was on the return journey that they were involved in the accident.
If I was aware that my wife had gone to visit the kids I could have prayed about the trip. In most cases I was the one who used to go and collect the kids.
My wife says she failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the vehicle leading into an accident that claimed all my three children and one of my mother’s young sister. She says instead of breaking on the curve, she mistakenly stepped onto the accelerator leading to the accident.
When I got home my family was not there and I called my young brothers that were there and they told me my wife had gone to get the kids. I said it wasn’t a problem but when I tried her number and the numbers of the other people she had gone with, all the phones were not available.
That is when I was told that my wife had been in an accident and I went to the scene in Marondera.
He added that he discovered that his three children and his mother’s sister had died in the accident. His wife and another aunt (younger sister to his mother) survived but are still in the hospital.
The prophet said: “There was another pupil from my children’s school that they had given a ride and that pupil also survived.”
Madzibaba explained that he was not immune to misfortune and he is not the first or last man of God to suffer such.
He said:
As for why the tragedy befell to a Prophet, I want to believe that death has no limits even traditional healers and prophets were among the people who perished in Chimanimani through Cyclone Idai.
Even Biblical Job lost his children and wealth but he remained faithful so I will not stop worshiping my God so who am I not to be spared from such mishaps.
Prophets do not foresee everything. None of the prophets in Zimbabwe even prophesied that Cyclone Idai was coming.
I want to believe that those posting negative comments are not Christians because it could have been common knowledge to them that even Christ Jesus died so as his friend Lazarus he once raised from the dead.
To my followers I would like to let them know that God has strengthened me, has taught me lessons and I will remain faithful and do what I was called to do while it is day.
