A clearly frustrated driver was seen having a go at his boss on a busy road in the Ikoyi area of Lagos earlier today – the reason for his frustration in unknown as at the time of filing this report.

The Instagram user, who shared the footage on the platform revealed that the driver’s boss, who actually is a woman, later alighted from the midsize SUV to collect her key back from the driver but he refused to give her back.

Sharing the video on his page, the user wrote,

Omo that’s how the driver got down from the car today on Kingsway Road, initially I thought the car behind hit him but nope, his madam had frustrated him so much he started raking for her o, she even got down from the car and asked him for the key but he refused to do so. lol

Former Super Eagles and Inter Milan striker, Obinna Victor Nsofor, has been granted Italian Citizenship.

The 31-year-old Nigerian footballer who last played for South African Premier Soccer League side, Cape Town City took to his Instagram page to celebrate after becoming a citizen of Italy.

Sharing a video of himself dancing while showing his Italian passport, Nsofor who is based in Italy wrote:

20-year old footballer killed by lightning as he celebrated scoring a goal

Allan Mbote, a 20-year-old Kenyatta University student was struck dead by lightning on Sunday as he came off the pitch to celebrate a goal against their opponents in Funyula Constituency.

Allan Mbote, who was one of six players caught by the bolt of lightning during Nangina Ward Football Tournament at Luchululo village, died instantly as others sustained injuries. Three players are still recuperating at Nangina Mission Hospital.

Kenyatta University confirmed the Red Sharks defender’s untimely passing in a Twitter post, saying they had lost the second year student. Mbote’s death is the latest lightning tragedy to hit the country in recent days.

On 9th December, three children Millicent Amoit, Moses Imerikwa and Esther Ateng’e succumbed to the lightning strike in Teso North constituency. The three were children to Andrew Idewa who survived together with his wife Carolyne Idewa and their grandchild Rian Samuel.

9-year-old bullied black girl commits suicide over friendship with white boy

A 9-year-old bullied black girl identified as McKenzie Adams, committed suicide over her friendship with a white boy which led to her harassment since the beginning of the school year.

The black girl who was harassed by her fourth-grade classmates, was found by her grandmother in her Linden, Alabama, home after she hanged herself. Her family who confirmed that she committed suicide over friendship with a white boy, transferred to U.S. Jones Elementary School in Demopolis, Alabama, because she had been bullied at her school in Linden.

The deceased’s mother Jasmine Adams, told CBS 42 that much of the bullying came from her friendship with a white boy and how his family would drive her to school.

“Part of it could have been because she rode to school with a white family,’ she continued. ‘And a lot of it was race, some of the student bullies would say to her ‘why you riding with white people you’re black, you’re ugly. You should just die’. ‘

‘She was being bullied the entire school year, with words such as ‘kill yourself,’ ‘you think you’re white because you ride with that white boy,’ ‘you ugly,’ ‘black b-tch,’ ‘just die’,’ she echoed.

Her aunt Eddwina Harris, said the group of students taunted McKenzie by telling her to commit suicide.

Harris said she’s speaking out about her niece’s death because she wants to promote anti-bullying.

“There are so many voiceless kids,” Harris said. “God is opening great doors for justice for my niece.”

Woman who married ghost of 300-year-old pirate earlier in 2018 says they have split up

An Irish woman who got married to the ghost of a 300-year-old pirate says they have split up less than one year after marriage.

Amanda Teague, 46, from Drogheda, County Louth, in Ireland, married the ghost of a Haitian pirate, named Jack, whom she referred to as her “soulmate”. She fell in love with and married the pirate’s ghost because she was tired of “physical world” men.

The wedding between Amanda and Jack, who was purportedly executed for thieving on the high seas in the 1700s, held earlier this year on board a boat in international waters off the Irish coast. It was conducted by a Shaman priest.

Amanda paid a whopping €6,000 to change her name legally after the wedding. She also worked as an impersonator of “Pirates of the Caribbean” character Jack Sparrow. She changed her look and had replica tattoos, dreadlocks and gold teeth fitted to look like identical to the character.

Before the marriage, Amanda made headlines for her tips on “having ghost sex” sessions. She claimed she and 300-year-old ghost Jack went on dates, had rows and even had an active sex life. They dated for two years before becoming engaged and then married.

However, the Irish Mirror reports the couple have called it quits after less than a year.

Amanda announced their separation via social media, writing:

So I feel it’s time to let everyone know that my marriage is over.

Knowing that her fans would definitely react to the photo as her finally admitting to the initial rumours, she still subtly debunks the speculations as she blames the photographer for taking the photo from a rather questionable angle.

Celebrity politician, Senator Dino Melaye, has yet again attacked President Buhari in the new hit song in which he advised his followers not to vote for him.

According to Dino Melaye, voting out Buhari and the APC is the only way to end hunger and poverty in the land.

In his words, “There is hunger in the land, there is poverty in the land, let us say no to poverty, let us say no to hunger, by voting out President Muhammadu Buhari.

“That is the only way to end hunger, that is the only way to end poverty. Please, Nigerians, vote out the APC and that is the only way these pretentious people, these deceptive people can understand that we know that they are responsible for hunger.”

He then dropped his version of a popular Yoruba gospel song, which stated that Buhari is responsible for the hike in the price of garri, pounded yam and even rice.

FUNAAB final year student dies due to lack of oxygen at FMC Abeokuta

A final year student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, identified as Olaniyi Ashimi, has reportedly died due to lack of oxygen at FMC Abeokuta, Ogun State.

According to Twitter user @sammiee_oj95, the late FUNAAB final year student was rushed to the hospital which also lacks a functioning X-ray machine after an accident. He further disclosed that no one knew the deceased had internal bleeding, and he died due to lack of oxygen at FMC Abeokuta which also had no ambulance to convey him to the hospital he was referred to.

No tests no scan they continued. For 24 hours no one knew Niyi had an internal bleeding until Friday and he had to be referred to UCH but FMC had no ambulance and worse off #nooxygen to move him to Ibadan… After hours we found a way to move him.

The Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 (SO1145/OSL1145) was a scheduled domestic passenger flight between the Nigerian cities of Abuja and Port Harcourt. At about 14:08 local time on 10 December 2005, Flight 1145 from Abuja crash-landed at Port Harcourt International Airport.

The plane, a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32 with 110 people on board, slammed into the ground and burst into flames. Immediately after the crash, seven survivors were recovered and taken to hospitals, but only two people survived.

Following a recent declaration by sensational Nollywood actress, Annie Idibia, that she doesn’t believe in ‘feminism’ as she doesn’t consider herself to be one, former Miss Nigeria, Ezinne Akudo has opined on ‘feminism’.

In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, Ezinne gives her definition of the controversial term which has become the movement of so many women in this century, with the likes of Nigerian novelist, Chimamanda Adichie, singer, Beyonce Knowles and others propagating the movement with their influence.

Ezinne – just days after Annie Idibia said she’s not a feminist – wrote,

For the record, each time you say you’re not a feminist, this is what you’re saying:
1. You do not believe that men and women should have equal access to rights and opportunities.
2. You support child marriage, female genital mutilation and the re-victimisation of rape victims.
3. You are comfortable with earning less than your male colleagues for doing the same work.
4. You believe boys should have better access to education because girls belong in the other room.
5. You are comfortable with being asked to choose between your work and pregnancy or being refused employment because you are pregnant.
6. You are sexist and a patron of patriarchy.

If anything above offends you, then I hate to be a bearer of bad news but you are a feminist. (At least until the word evolves to equalist, or humanist or something)
You might refuse to label yourself a feminist because you are scared of being disliked or perceived as angry or maybe you just don’t understand the movement at all but,
FEMINISM is simply the belief that men and women should have equal access to rights and opportunities. It is the freedom of choice, a choice to live and become whoever you choose to be! Marriage is such very tiny aspect of this entire conversation, but somehow, every time the subject of feminism comes up, that is all we seem to think about.??‍ Plus just when we think we are moving forward, we wake up to debates about whether or not women should address themselves as kings or queens(personal choice really). We have far greater issues as evidenced by the inexhaustive list above, can we please refrain from arguing on this level?
Yes, yes we have our culture and we know that these ‘anti feminist’ beliefs are based on traditions but maybe it’s time to sit down and ask ourselves if these beliefs are still valid, given the evolution of civilisation.

Popular Gambian Actress, Princess Shyngle, has been rushed to a hospital in Lagos after she allegedly committed suicide.

According to multiple reports, the actress was rescued by a neighbor who rushed her to Vedic Life care Hospital in Lekki after discovering that she took an overdose of a medication and drank bleach.

Princess Shyngle is currently in the emergency room because she was brought in in a critical condition. The reason behind her action is unknown for now.

The doctors at the hospital have been able to stabilize her for now, though her blood pressure keeps going up.

It is unclear what might have compelled the actress to attempt to take her own life but the actress has in the past opened up about being suicidal indicating that whenever she is faced with disappointments, the first thought that comes to mind is to end her own life.

“I cannot take disappointments. When I want something or I am looking for something and things do not work out well, the next thought that comes to mind is to commit suicide,” she stated in an interview with a Ghanaian-based newspaper in August 2017.

She also revealed that she’s been battling with these thoughts since she was eighteen years old and what triggered it was a near death experience that her father experienced.

‘’It started when I was about 18 years or so. I almost lost my dad through a fire outbreak and just the thought alone made me want to kill myself. I couldn’t see myself living my life without him and thought the best thing was to go with him,” she told Graphic Showbiz.

Reekado Banks Still Part Of Mavin Records – Don Jazzy declares

Following Reekado Banks’ peaceful exit from Mavin Records after the expiration of his 5-year contract and announcing the establishment of his own Record Label, ‘Banks Music’, his former label boss, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has confirmed that the ‘Doro Bucci’ crooner parted ways with the label under no acrimonious circumstances.

According to Don Jazzy who finally broke silence on the matter, though Reekado Banks is no longer bound under a management contract, he is still part of the Mavin Records family.

“We will forever be a family bro. we’re all proud of what you’ve achieved and will still grow into. Thanks for giving us some time in your amazing journey. I don’t want to say we will miss you because we know your house. If we need some Reeky fire, na to come burst you for crib. If you like dey toilet we come through. It’s been an incredible 5-years, wishing you nothing but success”, he said, while wishing Reekado Banks well on his exit from the label.

Meanwhile, since Reekado Banks announced the expiration of his contract and exit from Mavin Records, it’s been business as usual as for him as he has declared a new management team, confirming that he is ready for business and a new lease of life outside his former management.

Nigeria’s renowned writer, Wole Soyinka has cried out about his identity being stolen by a Nigerian living in Poland.

According to a report by Vanguard, barely a week after President Muhammadu Buhari cleared the air over his identity, Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, yesterday, raised the alarm over his stolen identity being used on Facebook by a Nigerian living in Poland.

The Nobel laureate spoke at the 70th anniversary of Human Rights and worldwide reading for freedom of the press in memory of Jamal Khashoggi at the Freedom Park in Lagos.

Soyinka, who lamented that he was presently a victim of stolen identity, stressed that the case of stolen identity must not be treated as fake news, saying, this is beyond fake news.

His words: “Recently, we have a situation in Nigeria and that is the issue of cloning President Muhammadu Buhari. We have people who have taken that issue seriously. These were people that one can never believe to accept such considering their level of intelligence.

“When Buhari went to Poland, I said what a coincidence because I hope while he was there, he will be able to sort-out his identity and there will be a report on the return of his identity.

“Poland appears to be the centre for Nigerians settlers with stolen identity.”

The Nobel laureate hinted that his discovery of Poland as the location of his stolen identity prompted him to visit the country and demanded that the businesses operated online including face book, with his identity be pulled down.

He said: “But he (operator of the business) refused, claiming that he has authority to do that. In my name, this fellow sells and buys things which I don’t even use.

“If we must fight for freedom of expression, we must fight for the correct attribution of expression.

“If the doctrine of freedom of expression was to be reversed, there will be certainly a number of issues to be addressed because expression on social media has taken a quantum leave in the last few years that cannot be imagined.”

A leader of Tiv Community in Opeji, Ogun State identified as Jonathan Tsekar, has been arrested for killing a police corporal, Gbenga Adeboyejo over N120,000, and burying him in a shallow grave.

It was gathered that the suspect and the victim were engaged in a charcoal business before the relationship turned sour.

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Illiyasu, yesterday led his men to exhume the corpse of the victim buried by the suspect in a shallow grave at Opeji village.

Illiyasu disclosed that the suspect allegedly committed the murder on November 24, 2018.

The CP quoted the community leader to have confessed that he killed the police corporal by “hitting a heavy plank on his head” in order not to refund the N120,000 he collected from the deceased.
