In the video, PMB stands in the middle of VP Osinbajo and national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Adams Oshiomole as they all sing along wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas.
Nigerian oil magnate, Femi Otedola thas transmitted a letter to the Nigerian Stock Exchange informing them of his decision to sell his 75% direct and indirect shareholdings in Forte Oil.
In the letter signed by Akinleye Olagbende, the general counsel of Forte Oil, Otedola said he was divesting from the company in order to “explore and maximise business opportunities in refining and petrochemicals”.
“Forte Oil Plc hereby notifies the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Securities and Exchange Commission, Shareholders and the investing community that its Majority Shareholder, Mr. Femi Otedola, CON has reached an agreement with the Prudent Energy team, investing through Ignite Investments and Commodities Limited, to divest of his full 75% direct and indirect shareholding in the Company’s downstream business,” the statement said.
Otedola has been the majority shareholder in the company since 2007, when the Incorporated Trustees of NNPC’s Pension Fund divested its stake to the Otedola-owned Zenon Petroleum & Gas Limited.
The sale of his shareholdings is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019 “subject to the satisfaction of various conditions and receipt of applicable regulatory approvals”. The press release clarified that an offer, solicitation or sale of ordinary shares or any other securities is not permitted.
Girlfriend of Jason Francis, 29, who died in an accident after he was knocked down by a white Volkswagen Jetta at about 8pm on Saturday, committed suicide hours later.
The long-term girlfriend of a 29-year-old man who was just metres away, waiting for him to return home when he was struck, was found dead in non-suspicious scenario just hours after she was told of her partner’s death.
It was gathered that Jason Francis was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by paramedics but could not be saved. Friends had become worried when they were unable to contact her after she left RPH on Saturday night when told Mr Francis had died, after the accident which occurred in Scarborough, Australia.
The heartbroken girlfriend who committed suicide and her boyfriend are said to be from the UK, and have no family in Perth. It is believed they moved to WA less than a year ago, after travelling the world together.

A female student’s room has been plundered by suspected thieves while she was away for the Christmas break from school.
The student of Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra state, Stephanie Oluchi, revealed that she was away for the Christmas Holiday, but was being urged by an unseen force to return to school, only for her to find out the properties in her apartment had been stolen by thieves.

The Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her brother were driving alongside two other friends when the accident occurred. While no casualty was recorded, this is however Sammy’s second accident in 3 months. Regina Daniels.

The Christmas season is really not looking good for Nigerian actor and comedian, Williams Uchemba who has been accused of using the Youth Assembly platform for fraud.
Immediately the news went viral about 24-hours ago, the United Nations youth Envoy issued an ‘urgent statement’ to clear themselves and now, the Youth Assembly who the former ‘Nollywood Child Actor’ claim to represent have also denied him.

It was earlier reported in the news that Atiku Abubakar claimed to have called the late soldier’s wife, which she denied.
However, Segun Showunmi, the spokesperson of Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organization released a statement apologizing for the “erroneous communication”.

Col Ibrahim Sakaba during the Boko Haram insurgents’ attack on 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar’s staff has made efforts to get the contact of his widow to enable the former Vice President express his condolences over the loss of the fallen hero.
Over the weekend, Atiku Abubakar was availed with phone numbers of Mrs. Sakaba and Maryam, younger sister of the late soldier, in the alternative.
On Sunday, the former Vice President tried albeit unsuccessfully to contact Mrs. Sakaba but was able to eventually speak with Maryam, younger sister of the gallant soldier during which he expressed his deepest condolences to the family.
However, this communication was erroneously communicated. The error is regretted.
Atiku Abubakar, however reaffirms his deepest condolences to the Sakaba family, which sacrifices, like those of their brave son, keeps us safe.

There was panic Sunday on Ogaga Street, Effurun in Uvwie council area of Delta state when a lady, Mariam Abdul, in her 20s was allegedly found vomiting cash early Sunday morning.
It was gathered by The Nation that the husband of the lady, whose name was given as Taye Adekunle, raised the alarm at about 3:45am, calling neighbours to come to his aid as his wife was behaving strangely.
According to an eyewitness, who is a resident of the area, Mariam had recently been a victim of the suspected ritualists who go around collecting female panties and other underwears in different parts of the state.
“Recently, Mariam’s panties were stolen by some unidentified ‘Yahoo Boys’ and she raised the alarm that her panties she spread after washing had been stolen. You must already know that this has been a trend in the state in recent times.
“But at about 3:45am, we heard a strange voice of ‘help me o’ from their apartment. The man was calling for help. Many of us could not open our doors until we heard the voices of some vigilante men in the area. When we got there, the saw the lady vomiting N500 notes.
“I would have doubted if I had not seen her myself. We’re all dumbfounded because we don’t know what to do. The N500 notes were coming out one after the other. It was through the effort of the pastor and some residents who were praying for her that she stopped.
“Three weeks ago, she and her husband announced that her pant which was hung in front of their apartment was missing. No one claimed to see the pant. We suspect that whoever stole the pant might have used it for ritual purpose since it is the reigning thing,” the source said.
Meanwhile, when reached for response, the Warri Area Commander of the Delta state police command, Alhaji Mohammed Shaba, narrated the much he had been informed of the situation preceding the alleged vomiting of cash, adding that the matter would be investigated.
“Today, according to the DPO (B’ Division), he received a distressed call this morning. That one Taye Adekunle of Ogaga Street Warri reported to B’Division that three weeks ago his wife, Mariam Abdul, washed two pants and a rapper and spread them outside their apartment. That the two pants and the rapper was stolen by unknown thieves.
“That Saturday 22nd December, his wife started experiencing strange spiritual attacks and then he invited a pastor and when he started praying for her, she started vomiting water including 14 pieces of N500 notes. The victim had been taken to hospital but when they are done the case will be transfer to state CID,” he said.

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has sent a goodwill message to Christians celebrating Christmas.
Buhari, in a statement he personally signed on Monday, felicitated with all Nigerians on the occasion.
He said,
”I felicitate with all Nigerians, particularly our Christian brothers and sisters, on the joyous occasion of this year’s Christmas, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
”Like I have done in the last three Christmas messages to my fellow compatriots as a serving President, I believe this season is another opportunity to reflect on the imagery of the humble, symbolic and divine birth of a young child thousands of years ago in Bethlehem, Judea, and the message of hope, compassion, salvation, reconciliation, forgiveness and peace that Jesus Christ embodies and conveys.
”In 2018, Nigerians have had mixed blessings, typical of human beings.
”On the pleasant side, our economy has made significant progress since coming out from recession and our faithful implementation of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan.
”Agricultural revolution has seen a vastly improved local production to the detriment of importation, while we have achieved surplus in our trade balance. Similarly, infrastructural deficit has been greatly reduced with significant improvements in roads, railways, aviation and power.

Policemen attached to Ilasamaja division have arrested two suspected members of a robbery syndicate that specialise in attacking customers who had gone to withdraw money from banks at Sadiku/ Ilasamaja, along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway, Lagos.
Following several complaints of attacks, the Lagos State Police Command boss, Edgal Imohimi, directed a 24 hours surveillance around the banks and others along the expressway. Vanguard gathered that immediately a male customer who had gone to withdraw N350,000 stepped out of one of the banks at about 2pm, the suspects: Boniface Ewerem(46) and Joseph,(42) ordered him to bring the withdrawn amount, pointing a gun at him.
One of them according to eye witnesses fired a shot into the air as he snatched the money from the customer and zoomed off in their operational motorbike. Luck however, ran against them as policemen from Ilasamaja chased and caught up with them.
The suspects during interrogation, revealed that they came from Iba area of the state to operate. He said: ”this is my first time. I wanted to use the money I would have collected, to celebrate Christmas. We never had any intention to kill our victims”.
The suspects were immediately transferred to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, as one brown pistol and two life ammunition we’re recovered from them, including the stolen money which has been returned to the owner.
IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has released further details to back up his claims that a body double is impersonating President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock.
Kanu, who had promised to release more “mind blowing evidence” against President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday shared a copy of the letter Buhari addressed to the National Assembly on his official Twitter Page.
To further prove his theory that the current President was Jubril from Sudan, Nnamdi Kanu claimed that Buhari’s signature in 2016 was different from his present signature.
He tweeted, “I keep stating, everything about Jubril is different from late Buhari. They promised ‘change’ in 2015, now we know what change means.
“Compare his signatures in 2016 & 2018. I ask proud Nigerians that can barely reason, have the signatures not changed?My goodness!”

The immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh’s friend has been released by the killers just days after he was abducted.
It was learnt that Alex Badeh’s friend was released after his family paid a ransom running into millions of naira, The Punch reports.
The police had said in a statement last week that,
“The former CDS suffered gunshot injury which resulted to his death, while his driver was injured and Badeh’s friend abducted.”
It was learnt that authorities are working on the theory that Badeh’s murder may have been an abduction gone wrong as the friend was released after a ransom was paid.
It was further learnt that there had been two of such incidents along the Keffi-Abuja Expressway before Badeh’s murder in the last one month.
However, sources within the Nigerian Air Force revealed that there would be a joint briefing with the police and the air force immediately after the Christmas break.
“While investigations were on, the family of Badeh’s friend paid a ransom to ensure his release. However, we have continued with the investigation and we have made progress. We will inform members of the public after the Christmas break,” an air force officer said.
The four-star general was killed on the evening of December 18, 2018, while returning from his farm.

Top notch Nigerian singer, Wizkid touched down Ivory Coast about two days ago for a concert after his VIP concert in Lagos on the 19th of December.
The concert is said to have had over 30,000 people in attendance. According to reports from eye witnesses, several fans were seen fainting, at least more than five people fainted and were rushed out for medical assistance.

Edafe Okporo who revealed that the actor is a fraudulent, has countered Williams Uchemba’s claim in a video he released last night, which debunked allegations of scamming people as a UN Assembly ambassador.
According to the US based Nigerian activist, he has never exchanged any message with the actor as he claimed, and there is no way a verified Instagram account can be used by another person for fraud.
Edafe further stated that Williams Uchemba is now a man, and has to take responsibility for his actions and wrongdoings.
The Nigerian lawyer also wondered how the actor who claims he is a Nigerian youth representative at the Youth Assembly, will not know the UN Youth Envoy (the key youth platform at the UN assembly).
He added that the alleged fraud perpetrated by the actor, is ruining Nigeria’s image.
The widow of one of Nigeria’s fallen hero, Lt. Col. Ibrahim Sakaba, has refuted claims made by PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, that he reached out to her via phone this yuletide. Sakaba was killed during the Boko Haram attack in Metele, Borno state in November.

A man has been killed by unknown assailants after returning home few days ago from Brazil.
The deceased identified as Ndubuisi who hails from Anambra state, has reportedly been in Brazil for a long time and decided to come back home to celebrate the Yuletide in his hometown where he met his untimely end.
According to multiple unverified reports online, the deceased might have been killed following an alleged drug deal gone wrong as it has been claimed that he dupes people from drug deals.
His SUV was abandoned on the road by his killers, suggesting that it was not a case of robbery. His corpse has been deposited at the mortuary.
The alleged baby daddy of reality TV star, Gifty, Mr 2kay has insisted that he will not release proof of DNA of child with Gifty after the actress maintained that he is not the father of her child.
The singer had earlier written on social media “DNA too true to tell a lie, way forward” after Gifty mentioned that he is not the father of the baby
Maintaining her stance, in an exclusive chat with Sunday Scoop, Gifty maintained that 2kay isn’t the father of her child.
She said,
“Tell him to post the proof (of the DNA test) on his Instagram page. I know what is happening. 2kay just wants a stupid publicity stunt.”
However, Mr 2kay insisted that he wouldn’t release any proof, he said:

A lady, identified as Nneka, is currently on the run after allegedly stabbing a woman who asked her to steer clear of her husband.
According to reports, the incident happened, last week, in Obosi, Anambra State. The victim, Nwanneka (pictured left), had accused Nneka (picture right), a mother of four, of having her secret affair with her husband.
However, in the course of their confrontation, Nneka, allegedly picked up a broken bottle and stabbed Nwanneka. The police are currently on her trail.
Not long after fire gutted about 25 shops attached to the palace of the Elekunpa of Ekunpa, Oba Kosoko, Kazeem, in the Shibiri area of Ojo Local Government Area, Lagos State, business owners, whose shops were affected by the inferno are yet to recover from the shock.
PUNCH Metro observed during a visit to the palace that some of the victims had resorted to auctioning the remainder of their goods, while others, who had sustained burns from the fire, were nursing their injuries.
One of the victims, Eucharia Abu, said a boy was pouring fuel into a working generator, which led to an explosion that caused all the shops attached to the palace to be burnt.

The Imo State indigene said,
“Around 2pm, one of the boys employed at the Bet9ja shop was pouring fuel into a generator when the generator and the keg of petrol caught fire. Out of fear, he threw the keg away and ran for safety; and it was that burning keg that attracted another generator, before the fire spread to the food vendor, who was using gas to cook. It was when the fire got in contact with the gas that the whole place exploded and the inferno got out of control.
“The fire burnt the whole shops, including the goods stacked in them; all my goods were burnt, because I was completely unaware that my shop and many other had been affected from behind. But when we noticed the fire, some boys got water to put it out, while others climbed the rooftop and started cutting planks that could attract fire. And that was how they prevented it from spreading to the palace building. I lost goods worth over N100, 000, but a man who sells flour here lost goods worth over N5m.”
A food vendor, Selina Samson , whose shop was located beside the Bet9ja shop, said the fire made her to lose valuables worth over N1.4m.
The Ogun State indigene said,
“I was in the shop washing the meat we bought from the market when I heard an explosion. When I looked outside, I saw that the generator we were using had caught fire and it had spread into my shop located beside the Bet9ja shop.
Nollywood actor and Instagram sensation, Williams Uchemba, who recently showed off his N500 million mansion in Los Angeles, and even met with President Muhammadu Buhari for his work on youth matters in September, has now been accused of fraud.
A United States-based Nigerian human rights activist, Edafe Okporo, had shared a screenshot of a supposed chat thread with Uchemba requesting information on how to attend an upcoming UN Youth Assembly event.
The response from the former child actor read, “I will need three things from you: passport data page, email address and registration fee ($1,000). After payment is confirmed, I will then send you a questionnaire for you to fill and send back.
“The $1,000 covers for your United Nations invitation letter (which is what you will take to the embassy and the UN will also send a copy to the embassy) which is also registration and admission into the UN HQ, your training materials and certificate from the United Nations, your US visa process and filling of your DA-160 (online form).”
According to screenshots that went viral on social media, Okporo alerted Wickramanayake, who responded, saying she was working on a message “to save young people from scams like these.”
Shortly after, in a statement via her official Twitter account, the UN envoy said, “It has been brought to my attention that organisations and individuals claim affiliation to my office and the United Nations, promising participation in meetings and conferences upon payment of a fee.
“Please note: The United Nations does not charge a fee at any stage for participating in meetings and conferences. The Office of the United Nations Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth does not have country or regional representatives.”
Uchemba, who is also the brains behind the #GiveChallenge, has garnered over 1.4 million followers on Instagram and over 35,000 followers due to his many comedy skits.
