After my NYSC i got my present Job at the Beat 99.9fm and Toke was so happy for me as we still stayed in touch. I was required to open a GTB or diamond acc at Beat for my salary. And i only had my NYSC access account. So that first month i was paid in cash ?
It was a lot of money for a 23 year old and i stupidly kept it in my back pack and went for some event that required i drop my bag at the security post.

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari was yesterday, issued a school certificate by the West African Examination Council.
In preparation for the 2019 Presidential Election, it was pertinent that the President produced his SSCE certification which is one of minimum requirements to contest for office (Buhari swore an affidavit in place of the certificate in 2015).
However, after the news made rounds, some Nigerians suspected foul play in the proceedings as they wanted to know why the President’s current passport photograph was used in the certificate for an exam which was allegedly written in 1961.

Yesterday, the Ondo state police command arrested 22-year-old Togolese cook, Sunday Anani, over the murder of his boss, Chief Opeyemi Bademosi, a socialite and chairman of Credit Switch Technology.
Chief Bademosi was found dead in the pool of his blood by his wife, inside their home in Parkview estate on Wednesday, October 31st. (Read Here ICYMI)
Anani who is the prime suspect in the murder of Chief Ope Bademosi, was arrested at his hideout in Ondo State yesterday, October 2nd.
In a video posted online, Sunday alleged that some persons, believed to be assassins, came to their home on the day of the incident and killed the deceased.

”I am not the one that killed him. About four people entered the house that morning. They passed through the front door and opened the kitchen door. Immediately I asked who is that. They blew my face and neck and then started to drag me on the floor. They asked me where was chief? I used to call him Oga. So I asked them who be chief? I told them Chief is inside his room. A woman late last night allegedly killed her husband, three children and also took her own life in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred at their residence on Vandeikya Street in the state capital.
A source said the ugly incident may have been as a result of a misunderstanding between the couple.
It was gathered that the windshields of the vehicle belonging to her husband was also smashed.
Until his death, the husband, Nicholas Adetsav was an administrative staff of the local government service commission.
Several calls to the Benue State Police PRO, ASP Moses Yamu were not picked as at the time of filing this report.

So, I told the driver I wanna highlight, and the man said in Yoruba (Oti di oun etutu), which means I would be used for sacrifice.
I was dumb for like 30 seconds, that was when I knew I was in deep shit… I started thinking of my life… Is this how I’m gonna die, is this how I won’t have my PHD, different thoughts was running through my mind and I don’t even know the ones to stick with at the time.

The 13-year-old girl who died after she was constantly being raped by her Aunty’s husband, Andrew Ogbuja, and his son Victor has been buried.
She was buried amidst tears, yesterday at her home town, Ogene Amejo Okpokwu local government area of Benue State.
Ochanya who was buried yesterday, battled Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) and other health complications at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi after being severely abused by one Andrew Ogbuja, and his son, Victor Inalegwu Ogbuja.
Speaking after the burial, a group under the aegis of Concerned Citizens For Ochanya, who commended the commended the thorough, transparent and unbiased investigation into the matter by the police and other related agencies, requested that the wife of the suspect, Mrs Felicia Ogbuja, be invited for questioning over her role, either by commission or omission, in the matter.
The group further demanded that Andrew Ogbuja, should immediately be suspended from carrying out his official duties as a lecturer and head of department in the Benue State Polytechnic, pending the outcome of the investigation into his complicity in the case.
The group also asked the Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, to immortalise the late Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbanje as a martyr of child rape, sexual molestation and abuse to discourage future act of abuse, neglect and exploitation of children.
“The Benue State House of Assembly should also intensify efforts to pass the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (2015). We also call for a thorough review of the Judicial System to protect the rights of children against rape and sexual molestation.”

A 32-year-old man who had been raping women in Kaduna State, including his own mother, has, at last been, arrested by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Special Squad.
Shekari David, who allegedly raped his mother and mother-in -law, has blamed his action on alcohol.
Currently detained at the Katari Police Division in Kaduna State, the suspect confessed that he had, on two occasions raped his own mother aged 65, and his mother in-law 70 in the dead of the night, while they were sleeping.
He said his behaviour made his wife to abandon him for another man. David said: “I am a farmer and I was once married, but my wife abandoned me due to my penchant for raping old women.
I don’t know if I am under a spell but whenever I am drunk, a spirit comes into me and I will be going around town looking for women to rape. ‘I have been beaten up over this issue severally, yet, I can’t still control myself whenever I get drunk.
I raped my mother during our last Moroha Festival, when I got drunk. I couldn’t find any old woman to rape and when I got home, I found my mother sleeping and I penetrated and raped her.
My mother screamed when she saw me on top of her and our neighbours gathered. Everyone saw that I was drunk and when I became sober I begged her to forgive me and she accepted.
Not long after that, I attended another festival in my wife’s community known as Mahuta and I became drunk again; in the dead of the night I went to my ex-wife mother’s house and found her sleeping and I raped her.
When the woman woke up and saw me on top of her, she shouted and people came around, and caught me. I was given the beating of my life before I was asked to go.
I don’t know what usually comes over me when I am drunk. That spirit is what normally pushes me to rape old women.”
We have received reports of a ghastly accident that happened along Abakaliki Road, Ebonyi state.
Two TSTC buses conveying Madonna University students from Jalingo, were involved in a ghastly motor accident at Abakaliki, Ebonyi State on their way to school from Jalingo yesterday, Friday, November 2nd, 2018.
One of the buses got burnt to ashes, roasting three of the students.
According to a source who spoke to us with condition of anonymity, he identified the students who died as Kerry Oliver (200L), Christable (200L, OPT) and Rita (200L, OPT).
Students who were rushed to the hospital were identified as Stanley (400L, MLS), Chidima Nwosu (200L, OPT), Divine (100L, EE).
A student who was in the other bus the moment the accident happened wrote: “One of my buses we chattered from Taraba state, containing only Madonna students (we chartered 2 buses) had an accident today around 6:PM, the bus somersaulted and caught fire immediately, the bus burnt beyond recognition, student were burnt inside the bus alive. 3 students were burnt to death beyond recognition (2 girls, 1 boy), 3 students managed to come out, but 1 broke her leg and head.
They were immediately rushed to the hospital (and they are all unconscious).
The buses contained 12 students (6 students in each bus, containing the driver, 7 people). It all happened in Ebonyi State, Abakiliki. (I don’t know the state of the driver, whether he survived or not.).
Currently I am in one police station in Abakalili, can’t travel again this night, I was actually in the bus in the beginning but later I changed to the other bus. (Thank God.) 5 girls and I’m the only boy in the second bus. We are all madonna students)
A 21-year-old woman, Shannon Barnard, was stabbed 46 times by her cheating husband, Michael and suffered multiple injuries to her limbs and body, including her lungs, liver and bowels.
Both her lungs collapsed and she has also been left with substantial scarring which may require skin grafts.
Mrs Barnard, who spent 17 days in hospital, later told police she felt ‘every blow’ and thought she would die, with doctors saying she was ‘extremely fortunate’ to have survived.
But in an unbelievable twist, a Maidstone Crown Court in Kent heard yesterday that she has forgiven her husband and plans to start a family with him on his release from prison.
Speaking during Barnard’s sentencing hearing for attempted murder, she replied when asked how she saw their future:
‘Just to be together and have the life that we both want with each other and have a family.’
The court heard she had also been visiting Barnard in prison ‘on every occasion possible’, and plans to see him twice weekly now he has enhanced status.
She agreed with his barrister David Taylor that he had told her he was sorry and how much he loved her, and when asked if she forgave him, Mrs Barnard replied: ‘Of course.’
Jailing Barnard, Judge Philip Statman said: ‘Your wife was extraordinarily lucky to have survived this ordeal.
‘The reason why she did so was down to the very quick medical response together with the extraordinary skill of the surgeons who undoubtedly in my judgment saved her life.

A fight between a bus driver and female passenger has led the bus plunging into a river in China.
Surveillance video released today shows the two physically fighting before the bus veered into oncoming traffic, smashed through a guardrail and plunged off the bridge into the Yangtze River on Sunday.
Police believe the passenger was arguing with the driver after missing her stop. No one is believed to have survived the accident. Chinese media reports 13 bodies have been recovered from the river.

A middle-aged man identified as Kingsley Chukwu, who had just been released from jail, posed as a genuine passenger, had dispossessed a commercial motorcyclist of his bike after knocking him unconscious with a sharp object.
A distress call was, however, received by Onipanu Police Division in Otta, about the incident, following which police operatives combed the entire area and succeeded in apprehending Chukwu, while his accomplice escaped.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he is responding to treatment.

The man who drowned after he reportedly jumped into the Lagoon in Lagos on Friday has been identified as a staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports.
A staff of FRCN, who pleaded anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the deceased was a driver attached to an Assistant Director in charge of Information Communication Technology unit of the corporation.
The source said that the deceased was newly posted from the FRCN Training School located in Shogunle to the Broadcasting House in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The source, however, described him as a gentleman.
Tunji Disu, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, told NAN that his men got to the scene almost immediately and invited marine police and local divers who recovered the corpse from the lagoon.
“The deceased parked the vehicle he was driving on the Third Mainland Bridge and told other occupants of the vehicle that he wanted to urinate
“The occupants were shocked as he dived into the Lagoon,” said RSS Commander, Disu, Assistant Commissioner of Police.
RRS had earlier tweeted on its tweeter handle @rrslagos767: “A man has jumped into the Lagoon from 3rd Mainland Bridge.
“RRS riders got to the scene almost immediately and radioed for assistance from the Marine Police, LASG rescue Boats & local divers, who recovered the corpse.

The ‘Mama Africa’ crooner said that he is disappointed with Donald Trump’s style of leadership.

A Nigerian soldier who survived a Boko Haram attack this morning after a bullet penetrated his sweater, took to Facebook to narrate the incident which left him grateful for life.
The Nigerian soldier who also paid tribute to those who died in the Boko Haram attack, disclosed that the attack which left him in the hospital took place at Azare, Yobe State. He wrote;

A 38-year-old Nigerian man identified as Glen Thomas, has been arrested by the India Narcotics Control Bureau after he couriered drugs concealed in machine parts.
The suspect who couriered a parcel containing 200 grams of methamphetamine to a person in Doha, Qatar, was arrested by officials of India Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials in Chennai, India on Wednesday.
The suspect who told the NCB officials that he received the consignment from another Nigerian in Delhi which he concealed in machine parts, reportedly worked as a ‘facilitator’ for patients coming from abroad for treatment in hospitals in Chennai.
Confirming Glen’s arrest, officials who verified his documents disclosed that the suspect stayed in a rented room with his friend, also a Nigerian, in Medavakkam. The suspect’s friend was accused of overstaying after the expiration of his visa.
Barely two days the Lagos police declared a young Togolese wanted for allegedly killed his boss, has finally been arrested.
The suspect was arrested, this morning, at his hideout in Ondo State and he is currently at Fagun Police station, Ondo.
Chief Ope Bademosi, a socialite and Chairman of Credit Switch Technology, employed the young man as his cook, on Sunday.
He, however, killed him in the early hours of Wednesday, at his residence in #Ikoyi, Lagos, and fled with his valuables. The deceased was reportedly found in a pool of blood, with multiple stab wounds.
“When we got inside, we saw the man in a pool of blood with the volume of music increased to the highest level,” a neighbour said.
In an interview with a homicide investigation officer, a source said: “This is very wicked. In fact, that guy must be a devil itself. He stabbed the man in multiple places. I was the first to enter the apartment.
In fact, the music was so loud that even if you were to be killing 20 people here, no one would hear them scream. After committing the act, the guy went to the toilet and pulled off the white uniform meant for cooks he was wearing because it was all stained with blood.
He also left the knife he used inside the toilet there. If you see the knife, it’s a very strong, long and sharp knife that could only be authorized for military personnel.
Afterward, he ransacked the whole apartment and carted away all valuables he could lay his hands on including an unaccountable sum of money, jewelries and the deceased phone.
What baffles us more is that, no one seems to know anything about him because he was only employed few days ago and brought from Ondo state to resume just this last Sunday. And they only know him by his first name, which is Sunday.”
A man, whose identity was yet to be fully established, reportedly parked his car on the bridge and jumped into the lagoon.
The yet to be identified man, reportedly told occupants of the car he was driving that he wanted to ease himself but went on to jump into the lagoon beneath Third Mainland Bridge to everyone’s surprise.
Eyewitnesses further alleged that the Marine Police, Lagos state government rescue boats and local divers who were mobilized after the incident which caused a traffic gridlock in the area, recovered the body of the ‘lagoon jumper’ after RRS riders got to the scene almost immediately and radioed for assistance.
