Chioma has been in the news a whole bunch, just this week… From one news to the other.. The latest claims she broke up with Davido, a rumor both party have said is untrue.
A recent video posted by stylist, Swanky Jerry, shows Chioma and Alex shooting a commercial for a new wig collection..
Apparently, when Chioma turned towards Alex who was filming her, she turned around with a frown.
This fueled speculations that she does not like Alex who happened to be her close friend, Cee-C’s arch rival in Big Brother Naija house.
However, Chioma took to the comment section to dispel those insinuations.
“Can’t some people just be positive for once?” She wrote
“Even If I wasn’t smiling,it wasn’t even intentional. Alex is a sweet girl and I love her spirit..She is always happy. Relax y’all..”, She concluded.
Tragedy struck in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State as explosion from a pipeline belonging to Pipelines and Product Marketing Company Limited (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), burnt scores of people, including some unidentified soldiers in the wee hours of yesterday.
There were different accounts of how the explosion occurred, but all the versions of the account from government authorities, pipeline guards, residents and some eyewitnesses had it that the explosion came from a PPMC abandoned pipeline which has been left unattended to for over three years and was all of a sudden used to pump fuel without considering the dangers involved.
As gathered by Saturday Telegraph, the fire outbreak started by 1:30am and affected two communities; Umuimo and Umuaduru all in Osisioma Local Government Area, where the PPMC abandoned pipeline had some leakages. So many families who reside close to the damaged pipeline have been left in unforgettable sorrows as so many members of their families were burnt beyond recognition while others who went to scoop fuel along the abandoned pipeline were roasted right inside the bush.
When Saturday Telegraph visited the site soldiers of the Nigerian Army blocked the scene and prevented everyone including journalists from entering the scene and even warned that no photos of the scene where the dead bodies laid were to be taken until they were through with the search of something very important to them.
After several hours of waiting, the soldiers brought a machine meant for pumping of water which they aimed to use to free the waterlogged portion of the scene in continuation of their search. Within few minutes of the pumping a rifle which many said belong to some suspected soldiers who took part in the fuel scooping either directly or by collecting money from those involved was seen and taken away by the soldiers who immediately allowed newsmen to enter the scene and zoomed off in their cars. On the identity of the victims, Saturday Telegraph gathered that a father and son, a nursing mother who left her two months old baby at home after several warnings from her husband with her friend were burnt by the fire.
Some of the names of the victims identified by family members at the scene include: Eze Onwukwe from Obuzor village, Obinnali Enyinnaya and Uchechi Enyinnaya from Okpokoroala village, Ogadinma Reuben from Umuojima Okereke village, Chukwuma Chimeze from Umuokorogbu and one Alozie Ihunnaya. Speaking to Saturday Telegraph, Mr. Chucks Uzoije, an eyewitness, a pipeline guard and a native of Umuimo, one of the affected communities, said the information on the leakage in the line came over three years ago , but was not attended to. He said:
“The issue of the abandoned pipeline started over three years ago. We got information that there is leakage on the line. We called the authorities and they said it is in the old line which government does not use anymore because there are two lines there. “The one Federal Government is maintaining is different from the one they pumped product into. So, they said they cannot do anything about it because government did not pay them to repair the two lines and that if government wants them to maintain it, the government should dialogue with them because they cannot get money from air to maintain it.
“Unfortunately yesterday, instead of pumping through the pipeline they use to maintain, they now pumped through the abandoned line. Everywhere there is leakage of fuel. Fuel was pumping without direction and only God knows where they were pumping it to. Fuel covered the entire bush and when the fire started, my whole house was burnt. “Everything was gone. When the leakage started, we called the Civil Defence and they came to help us scare people away from scooping, but unfortunately they succeeded in entering and around 4:30AM today (Friday). I didn’t come out with anything.
“I now have only my uniform and my torch light. Two of my tenant burnt and most people came to rush them to hospital. I don’t know if they are alive.” Speaking also on the cause of the incident, Chairman of Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, Mr. Benjamin Mgbeahuru, who visited the scenes as well as the hospitals where some survivors are still lying critically burnt, blamed the PPMC for using a pipeline they said was an abandoned one in pumping products without checking its ability. He said: “We have invited the PPMC depot manager more than three times in our security meeting to give us some update on why we are having fire incidents every time along our pipelines, but he has vehemently ignored those invitations.“This line they claimed is an abandoned line, but every time they pump products in there and it catches fire. We must get to the bottom of this time around.”
“This is not the first time. The PPMC and Federal government are not helping us. They don’t come to repair those lines. They claimed it is abandoned, but how do products go in there? This is a very sad period for Osisioma LGA and Abia in general.” A native of Umuaduru who simply gave his name as Sampson said he lost a cousin to the explosion and said his late cousin was warned severely not to go to the site of the leaking pipeline when the news broke out.
“People that died here are more than 50 in number. Some persons carried their people before the soldiers came. Many others died at Umuimo. One of my cousins died here. I was told his mother warned him not to go, but he left unnoticed with wheelbarrow and some gallons. “They have removed their burnt members very early in the morning, but still insist that we must not remove hours because they are looking for something. They beat people with cutlass and chased women away because of whatever they are looking for which most of us suspect must be the guns of their burnt members which they don’t want to get into the wrong hands.”
When contacted about the incident, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, who said he was aware of the incident, assured residents that the police would always be alert in the affected areas to ensure that there was no breakdown of law and order.

The quite lovely photos of a police officer and his wife-to-be have emerged online and one can’t help but love the chemistry between them.

A young Nigerian couple who met two years ago while serving their country during the mandatory NYSC scheme, are set to tie the knot, and have shared their love story.
The bride to be, identified as Omowunmi Ayeni, has taken to her Facebook page to share the romantic story of how she met her partner at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp two years ago.
According to Ayeni, she met her husband Oluwagbenga Oluwasegun while preparing for a program in camp – they exchanged numbers and went their separate ways but as fate would have it, they met two years after.
Read the couple’s love story below as narrated by Omowunmi,
“Our Love Story #adventureofgamo. Every finish line of a race is the beginning of a new race. During my NYSC race, which was an amazing and interesting year for me.
I registered in camp to take part in the Marketplace readiness programme organised by Fifth gear plus led by Niyi Adesanya. It was at this programme that a certain gentle man OluwaGbemiga A. OluwaSegun walked up to me and told me I would be doing his wedding souvenirs in the nearest future. We exchanged contacts and went our separate ways.
Two years later, after waiting on God for the right partner, i received an instruction to focus more on other people rather than myself according to Job 42:10. So I obeyed that instruction and created a praying group for three days.
Many weeks after this, OluwaGbemiga A. OluwaSegun from NYSC days called me one evening and said; ‘Omowunmi, I want to marry you’.
I laughed out loud for few seconds… (This was what I had been praying for but I didn’t recognise that my prayer had been answered. I am glad I was hospitable and not rude to him).
So I asked for a date, and that date has led us to #adventureofgamo. We are one step closer… #ourintroduction. Dear all, behold my KING…Song by: Zoe&Grace- I will stay.”

No fewer than 18 Nigerians die hourly from Tuberculosis (TB), the National Tuberculosis, Burulli Ulcer and Leprosy Control Programme (NTBLCP), said on Friday in Lagos.
Mrs Itohowo Uko, the Deputy Directorof NTBLCP in the Federal Ministry of Health, disclosed this at an integrated media parley organised by Breakthrough Action -Nigeria in collaboration with the Health Writers Association of Nigeria (HEWAN) in Lagos.
Uko, who is also a laboratory scientist described tuberculosis as an airborne infectious disease caused by the germ, Mycobacterium Tuberculosis which affects the lungs mainly but may affect any other part of the body.
”According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) 2017 global report, TB is one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide and Nigeria is classified among the 14 countries with high burden of TB.
”It is estimated that two out of every 1,000 Nigerians will have TB; 104,940 TB patients representing about 20 per cent of existing patients were notified to the authorities in 2017.
“This means that there is a huge number of TB patients in communities that are not notified.
”No fewer than 18 Nigerians die every hour of TB and one case of untreated TB can infect between 10 and 15 persons per year.
”Nigeria has the sixth highest burden of TB patients globally and first in Africa; of the 104,904 patients notified in 2017, 63 per cent were aged between 15 and 44; the working age group is the most affected,” she said.
Uko said that the statistics were scary and called on all stakeholders to show concern to ensure a Nigeria-free TB, reduce burden, as well as reach zero TB death.
On the dynamics of TB, she said that TB is spread through the air when the person with TB of the lungs coughs, sneezes, sings or talks.
According to her, TB is curable and the patient is not termed as infectious after few weeks of treatment.
”Persistent cough of two weeks or more duration may be due to TB and needs to be further investigated.
Justin Bieber has been truly, genuinely upset following the news of his ex Selena Gomez’s hospitalization and decision to seek treatment for anxiety and depression after.
He’s been photographed out crying twice this week, including just yesterday in the car with his new wife Hailey Baldwin. But even before that, Bieber has been struggling since his courthouse wedding to Baldwin last month, Us Weekly reports.
Regarding Gomez, a source told the outlet that there are definitely still feelings there, even though they’re not romantic, and Bieber really is concerned for her. “Justin still loves Selena a lot, but as a friend and is praying for her,” the source said.
But generally, getting married hasn’t fulfilled Bieber, who feels overwhelmed with everything. “He has so much going for him but he doesn’t feel whole,” a second source close to the singer told the outlet.
Bieber is over fame too, that second source added.
“Justin has become a recluse and a changed person,” the source said. “He has no interest in being a celebrity and an artist. He has withdrawn again, much like he did a couple years ago. He started recording music, but just stopped.”

A Nigerian man Darren Idongesit, has taken to Facebook to rejoice after receiving news of his abusive father’s death, saying it’s a wonderful news.
Darren said his father, a pastor, was so abusive and left him with physical and emotional scars. He referred to his father as a “Nigerian psychopath” and said he is the “only man that has successfully pissed everyone off in the world.
He wrote:
Phew! I heard a wonderful news today. I think my father is dead.
All I want to do if I ever grabbed a mic at his funeral is to list all the terrible things he did and said about his relatives. I’d also want to promote my revealing book on growing up with a Nigerian psychopath in an alien land with no familiar faces or features, I remember how it felt to be brutally injured in my first experience of northern harmattan. Injury during harmattan is the most painful but then there is the other one which has kept up with me till this day – the emotional scars are more like sores that keep tearing itself apart, banishing the superficial cicatrix and oozing crimson sorrow that nowadays taste like ferrous delight.
Ah well, I hope he saved for his funeral because I don’t think anyone would want to bury that man, the only man that has successfully pissed everyone off in the world.
I am however glad that through his actions my life radically changed and I know now not to treat others badly, I rather be sincere than treacherous, I rather say I don’t like a person to their face than hurt them from behind the curtains.
Through my travails and childhood trauma I want to thank god all mighty donkey-ass for not showing up, if my childhood was sweet, perhaps I’d never have reason to question faith and beliefs and love and marriage and having biological children.
I don’t want marriage, don’t want children, and I want to save for my own funeral which would be a Muslim funeral – wrap me up in white cloth as black would be too spooky, throw the cadaver in a shallow grave not 6 feet but 3, plant N350 mango seedling there so I know at least I was useful one last time to the wild birds of the forest and occasionally a firm branch for a stray person to hang from.
I also want to give away any money I make professionally to charity that would help increase literacy in young girls so they have the power to tell their own stories.
I may have my own opinion of my father, it doesn’t mean others shouldn’t have a different opinion of the man but I strongly believe he is the only person that would die to exorbitant jubilee and champagne pops.

A Taxify driver has narrated how he was beaten by some boys he believed were popular singer, Davido’s boys, yesterday, in Lagos.
A young man identified as Aboderin Casper Abiodun, has taken to his Instagram page @abiodunaboderin, to narrate how he was brutally attacked by hoodlums who he alleged are Davido’s boys on Thursday in the Lekki area of Lagos.
He shared photos narrating how he was battered after the attack and wrote:
“Some things are not just meant to be. I am a taxify driver. I was driving and minding my business along Lekki-phase1 yesterday when I was attacked by some boys which I later confirmed they are Davido’s boys. He claimed that I was driving too slowly for his liking and I was obstructing his drive. I did not argue with him; neither did I try to insult him. It was totally unprovoked. He gave me a punch on my mouth and I started bleeding. He left the scene.
I have never been that confused in my life! I looked towards the direction he went to. I noticed that he was going towards a house painted in white. I went there so as to get a sensible person to talk to and probably make him apologize.
I found out that it was a music studio. But as I was speaking to a man I saw there, the guy came back, saw me and started shouting. Then at the same time, a white Toyota Hilux arrived with about 6 guys.
They beat me to a pulp and broke my bones. They beat me up so much, I could not move my body. They also used their boots to step on me and broke my glasses. Then they chased me out of the place like a common thief.
I could not see clearly to drive myself out of the scene due to my glasses. As I am making this complaint, I am at the hospital receiving treatment. I am in pains and I did nothing to deserve this from these guys.
Afterwards, I saw the first guy who started this troubles with Davido at the balcony of the white house. This made me confirm they were Davido’s boys. These guys think they are above the law? The fact that you are associated with a celebrity does not give you the liberty to beat up seemingly law abiding citizens anyhow, just because you can.
This may go unnoticed, but in due course, karma will visit. Kindly share this everyone. This has to stop.”
A lady has narrated how Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI, officers allegedly brutalized her father and brother, leaving her father badly injured and her brother unconscious in the hospital.

She alleged that the KAI officials responded to the report, arriving with guns, machete, and baton.
According to her, they picked up people at random and beat them up. Her brother was one of those being assaulted and her father came to his rescue but he was beaten too.
She wrote:
Ok,just got back from work and saw my dad’s head injured. My Elder brother was beaten mercilessly by Kai(Kick Against Indiscipline). This happened in ilasamaja There was a report from market women saying the hawkers does not want them to sell their market all because they are selling at cheaper price,Kai got to the area started assaulting anyone they see, destroying peoples properties.Even forced their way into our compound with their baton, machete (I don’t even know what they are doing with it),guns hitting and beating anyone they see. Experience could be a cruel teacher. Sometimes it best to learn from other’s experiences. Following instructions is better.
Regarding your tweet @Nurexmu God is your only resort,He instituted marriage and is Love. He’ll do a better job than this. My opinion??
As someone who just got out of a relationship with a nonchalant person, I’ll tell you that patience takes a lot from a person. But I wish you good luck.
If you’re “careless” or “carefree”. And you know it, don’t get into marriage.
Work on yourself and the right person will be attracted to you.
How to do it? Change your mindset from “I’m careless” to “I love her, so why not hear from her”
Be a better person for her.
See correct sharp guy! Knows who he is and what he wants! While our Fine single ibo guys are there still playing hide and seek games wasting our time ? wish i could marry from your tribe ??? May you find that which you seek!
I hope twitter will follow you and pay bride price. We cannot look for a wife for you and don’t get invite to chop party jollof.

The World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim, has admitted that the financial institution’s advice to Nigeria caused problems in health, education sectors.
The World Bank says it “has to take some responsibility” for advising Nigeria and other African countries to invest more in roads, railways and energy rather than in education and health.
The World Bank President, Mr. Jim Yong Kim, made this known while briefing the media after the launch of the 2018 Human Capital Index, which ranked Nigeria 152nd out of 157 countries believed to be committed to investing in human capital.
Kim briefed the media on Thursday at the ongoing International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meeting in Bali, Indonesia.
“We provide quite a bit of support for Nigeria in terms of health budget. But we feel that the overall spending on health is just far too low, 0.76 per cent of GDP.
“Also, the educational outcomes in Nigeria are very very poor.
“Nigeria is one of the most important countries not only in Africa, but in the world and so we feel that it will be extremely important for Nigeria to really go on a different level altogether in terms of their commitment to investing in human capital.
“I think that the World Bank has to take some responsibility for having emphasised hard on infrastructure, roads, rails, energy for a very long time and I think that changed 20 years ago.
“But there is still then the bias that says we will invest in hard infrastructure and then when we grow rich, we will have enough money to invest in health and education.
“We are now saying that that’s really the wrong approach, that you’ve got to start investing in your people right now.”
HCI seeks to raise awareness and increase demand for interventions to build human capital and accelerate better and more investments in people.
Kim said that through the International Development Association, the World Bank had, since 2015 increased funding for Nigeria and other African countries towards alleviating poverty.
The message here is that Heads of State and Ministers of Finance have to take responsibility.
“What has happened is in many African countries, if they don’t receive grant-based financing, they just simply don’t spend on health and education.
“So we hope that this is a loud wake-up call for leaders throughout the African continent and especially in Nigeria.”
According to the human capital index, children born in Nigeria stand the chance of being 34 per cent as productive when they grow up as they will be if they enjoy complete education and full health.
Children in Nigeria can expect to complete 8.2 years of pre- primary, primary and secondary school by age 18.
However, when years of schooling are adjusted for quality of learning, this is only equivalent to 4.2 years, showing a learning gap of 4 years.
The World Bank report on adult survival rate across Nigeria showed that only 65 per cent of 15-year-olds would survive until 60 years of age.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 2018 Annual Meetings of the IMF and WBG brings together experts to discuss issues of global concern, including the World Economic Outlook, poverty eradication, economic development and aid effectiveness.
