President Buhari while delivering his democracy speech today, said that statics have shown that Nigerians now have lesser use of their generators because of the improved supply of electricity.
He said:
“In the area of power generation, Nigerians from all parts of the country continue to report better power supply and less use of generators.”
“This underscores the effectiveness of the methodical plan to deliver incremental and uninterrupted power supply to our homes, markets, offices and factories.”
“The country achieved 5,222.3 MW representing the highest peak of power generated onto the national grid and delivered to customers in December, 2017. With new facilities, repairs and rehabilitations by government and private investors, generation capability now exceeds 7,500 MW,”
President Buhari has revealed that the staggering sum of over N500billion has been recovered by his administration thanks to the success of the whistle blower policy.
He said this during his Democracy Day speech which aired at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The president’s claim however contradicts those of his finance minister, Kemi Adeosun and anti corruption chief, Ibrahim Magu. As at the end of March, Kemi Adeosun gave N7.8 billion, $378 million and £27,800 as the total recovered through whistle-blowing tips. A total of N143billion.
In November 2017, Mr Magu said the EFCC recovered N739 billion in two years. Earlier this year, he said his agency recovered N511 billion in 2017 alone. A media strategist for the APC, Ayo Akanji however says there is no conflict in the figures recovered. He said: “The Ministry of Finance and the EFCC have been making separate recoveries, but there will be reconciliation soon.”

Jemiriye believes that the continue chanting of “THIS IS NIGERIA, EVERYBODY IS A CRIMINAL” is an insult on the hardworking innocent Nigerians out there.
According to the songstress, if Falz believes that every Nigerian is a criminal, then so is his father, Femi Falana; he’s simply saying his own father who has worked so hard as a lawyer is a criminal.

This is certainly not the truth that Nigerian youths want to hear now, but the trending song “This Is Nigeria”, by Nigerian rapper, FalzThaBahdGuy, which is a cover of the song “This Is America” by US rapper, Childish Gambino, is a colossal disservice to the millions of innocent Nigerians home and abroad working hard everyday and making this country proud.
Interestingly Falz has always attacked “Yahooboys” for bringing Nigeria’s name to disrepute, but what is the difference between “Yahoo boys” and Falz who just released a song chanting “Every Nigerian Is A Criminal” which is now being reposted on different social media by popular celebrities with millions of followers including American music mogul, Diddy who has more than 10million active followers on instagram?
Is this song not a weapon of mass destruction to our collective image laundry efforts on this country? As at the time of writing this, “This Is Nigeria…Everybody Is A Criminal” has been viewed by over a million people globally on Falz’s YouTube page alone just 5 days after its release; not to talk of the different instagram pages and YouTube pages it has been shared on. Granted, Nigeria, just like every other countries in the world has a prevalence of crimes of all manners, and we all know that the international media has not even helped the Nigerian and African situation, with their focus on the negative aspects, but doing such a song is a massive dent on the already tainted image of this country.
We are in an era when innocent Nigerians are being denied Visas because of the sins of the many others, Nigerians in the diaspora not finding it easy to transact businesses with their foreign counterparts and so many other challenges attached to being called a Nigerian, but rather than play his part in changing the conversation, Falz decided to rubbish all of us just because he wants to make a new hit song; and that is extremely disappointing coming from a supposedly learned person. It’s worse than Idris Abdul Kareem’s “Jaga Jaga” which never even insulted hardworking Nigerians anyway, yet intelligently highlights the challenges in the country. Now, i dont know about the millions of youths currently hailing the rapper for “a job well done”, however, i abeg to excuse myself that i am not a criminal. “I deserve some accolades, because i have paid my dues” in the words of actor Charles Okocha.
We’re here day in day out trying to make the world see Africa in a better light. Look at the incident in Paris on Saturday, the guy from Mali. That’s an African! Look at Nigerians doing us proud both home and abroad. All over the US, Nigerians dominate the universities as lecturers, same as in the health sectors. With my music, i have personally promoted Nigeria’s image widely in the US selling Nigeria and Africa to them, which earned me the spot of the first African artiste to perform the baseball anthem to a stadium full of spectators, proudly rocking my Gele. I have been able to meet many world dignitaries and speak to them more about the beauty of Nigeria and the people and they always show so much interest in learning about this great country. I, including many other Nigerians in the diaspora continually make sacrifices to change negative opinions of foreigners about this country, even as some people change their names, skin color or even jostle to have mixed baby. We have stayed true to this country…And someone is somewhere saying we are all criminals?
However, what i know for sure is that this table that Falz is shaking has his highly revered dad, Femi Falana on it. And I wonder how he feels about his son saying he is a criminal after all his years of hardwork in the legal profession?

A woman, Teresiah Mumbi, has threatened to sue two police officers from Nairobi, Kenya, after they allegedly forced her to undress to confirm her gender because she has a beard.
Mumbi, 31, revealed that she was stripped on May 15 after being arrested for a traffic offence, reports Myjoyonline.
Speaking on Friday at KTN Television, the woman said two unidentified female officers demanded to confirm whether she was a man or a woman.
“Those two female officers came and demanded that I undress and I put my legs apart. After they were satisfied they let me back to the cell,” Mumbi said.
Mumbi said she stopped shaving her beard because the beard became very itchy every time she did.
“I even stopped working. I do not want another incident like that,” she said.
“Is this justice? If these are the officers mandated to provide security, what will happen to me in public?” Mumbi asked.
Huruma OCPD Alice Kimeli is yet to confirm the claims by Mumbi as she said she was in a meeting when contacted.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos zonal office, have arrested three suspected Internet fraudsters for conspiracy and possession of fraudulent documents.
The suspects-Sylvester Osolase, 30; Seyi Ajayi, 36 and Monday Mayaki, 37 were arrested on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at River View Estate, Isheri North, Lagos State, following intelligence report received by the Commission about their activities.
The suspects who were dealing in romance and classified scams, confessed to have defrauded several unsuspecting victims around the world. They also confessed to have used proceeds of their illicit deals to buy cars, paid their rents and travel around the world.
Items found on the suspects include laptops, cars, mobile phones and incriminating documents that were printed from their emails.
The suspects will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Hushpuppi has replied the request by Kemi Olunloyo who recently asked him for financial assistance.
Kemi had requested for his help after many fans called her out for her constant attack of Linda Ikeji who once helped bail her out from prison by donating a 100k.

“It was brought to my attention the posts of one of the great journalists of Nigeria which I have carefully gone through and I must note that I never made mention of Madam Kemi Oluloyo’s name in my video that I made at the airport lounge where I gave a general observation as to how the rich tend to mind their business and suggested if we were all doing same, maybe Linda ikeji’s fruit of the womb just wouldn’t be a problem as people are making it. I do Appreciate madam Oluloyo’s taste in my fashion and as well Appreciate her works, just like most of her writes up often carries constructive criticism and lash back , I believe it is safe to say her request to beat Linda’s 100k donation which I could have said was from a sarcastic point there after accompanied with a bank details puts me in a dicey position. A Nigerian man, Ifeanyi Odiaka, has shared the touching story of a 19-year-old orphan, Gifty, who was gang raped last year by unknown men.
She later found out she was pregnant and decided to keep the pregnancy. She welcomed a baby four months ago.
Ifeanyi shared the photos and story of the lady while disagreeing with OAP Daddy Freeze who recently advised a 17 year old girl raped and impregnated by armed robbers to keep her pregnancy. Read here and here.
Ifeanyi while drawing wisdom from the 19 year old’s story, says anyone who suffers such a fate should keep the baby and grow through the pain, shame and ridicle as God knows best and is the giver of children.

A sensitive situation but I do not stand with Daddy Freeze….
Just as I was about starting my day, I came across a story online about a 17yr old lady who was raped by robbers and now she is pregnant. Despite now gaining admission into the University, her parents and church are against the lady aborting the baby. And my dear friend Daddy Freeze has come out to say that the lady reserves the right to abort the child, stating that it is her body.
Well, it is not her body, it is God’s. Let us not be quick to take out God in certain situations. God remains God and no man can take his place. Lucifer with all his powers, failed. God is the great master planner and he knows us even before we were born. God has the final say and He allows things to happen for specific reasons. Abortion i.e taking the life of an innocent child will always be an evil act. Children, no matter the circumstances they were conceived, remains the best gift from God!.
In saying this, let me share a story about Gift in this pics. Gift is a 19yr old orphan, who was gang raped. As a result of that, she got pregnant. She decided not to abort and today she has a 4months old baby. The road has been very rough for her, to be honest. She is virtually homeless and has also been diagnosed with hepatitis B. Her dreams of becoming a nurse has been distorted (certainly not over). Hearing her speak melts my heart and as I carried her baby in my arms, I knew immediately that God has designed something great for both mother and child. And so, I urge the 17yr old lady who was raped by robbers to listen to her parents (and church). Go through with the trauma. Go through with the pain. Go through with the disgrace. Don’t do it….Don’t abort the precious baby. God has a greater plan for you and the baby. Just hold on to God.
