Ruth Kadiri rains curses on politicians and Yahoo boys who engage in human sacrifice

Ruth Kadiri rains curses

Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri has reacted to the Lagos tanker explosion on Otedola bridge, in Lagos.

In her opinion, the recent tragedies taking place in Nigeria are spiritual.

She took to her Instagram page to rain curses on politicians and yahoo boys who use human sacrifice to win elections and wealthy gains.

She insinuated that the series of unfortunate incidences should be blamed on the politicians who are preparing for the 2019 presidential elections

Her initial post read:

“The spiritual controls the physical… what they have done with our Dear country we do not know… Rip to dead. God help us all. Fellas watch and pray.”

In a follow-up post, Ruth Kadiri addressed politicians, native doctors, ritualists, and Yahoo boys who use human sacrifice for the purpose of winning elections and gaining wealth and power.

Daddy Freeze slams Pastor who predicted yesterday’s accident in a trending video

Daddy Freeze slams Pastor

Earlier today, a video of a clergyman predicting yesterday’s incident trended on social media, with some Christians praising the man of God.

Daddy Freeze has now taken to his Instagram page to react to the video and he took a swipe at the clergyman.

According to Daddy Freeze, the predictions by Prophet Udensi Godlove is bereft of spirituality and with no recourse to God.

He wrote:

”I listened to that bescumbered broadcast bereft of spirituality and with no recourse to God.

Yet I know that with the problems Nigeria is facing, combined with our gullibility for ‘men of god’ whoever made those predictions is now fast on his way to becoming a ‘god’ himself.

The first set of dates he mentioned are 23rd June, 28 of June, 12th of July 24th of July, 30th of July and 1st of August.

His exact words were “These dates I have mentioned do not travel out of lagos using the following transport….” and he proceeded to mention names of transport companies, claiming they were marked for blood.?

Before you guys start jumping and lapping this shit up, let me ask you; does this look like a prediction for Saturday’s Plateau massacre or yesterday’s tanker explosion? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

He clearly mentioned transport companies going out of Lagos, listen to the audio clearly without sentiment or emotion and you will see what I’m sayin.

Yesterday’s disaster involved a tanker and vehicles within Lagos going about their normal activities on a Thursday, NOT LUXURIOUS BUSSES GOING OUT OF LAGOS that were ‘marked for blood’?

Nigeria has become so hungry for prophets that we jump at anything with spiritual semblance without analyzing what they are saying critically.

Before you leap and start believing anything, drop your emotions, prejudices, sentiments and inbred gullibility on the floor and listen again, this time carefully!

P.S. If I owned any of those companies he mentioned I will sue his ass for billions! ~FRZ

Another Fuel Tanker Explosion on Suleja-Minna Road

fuel tanker explosion

Another tanker explosion happened along Suleja road in Niger state this morning.

This accident has occurred barely 24 hours after the petrol tanker explosion on Otedola bridge in Lagos that claimed the lives of 9 persons including a minor.

The fire accident occurred at Mallam Karo, along Minna-Suleja Road involving a collision between a truck and a fuel tanker.

The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, said the crash happened in the morning.

He added that men of fire service and officials of the FRSC were on the ground to put off the fire as the vehicles are burning.

Five persons have been confirmed injured in the early morning head-on collision between the fuel tanker and the trailer and the victims have been taken to the hospital.

“No life was lost,” Kazeem said.

The tanker had no visible number plate and was laden with Kerosene, a highly flammable hydrocarbon liquid.

It is also noted that the fuel tanker belongs to Conoil.

“The cause of the crash was speed violation, leading to loss of control,” Kazeem added.

He said that the nature of the crash serious, being a multiple accident.

“Victims have been taken to the General Hospital Suleja, as they were attended to by FRSC officials and other security agents such as men of the Nigerian Police Force and Fire Service officials from Suleja.

“The vehicles caught fire after a head-on collusion,” he submitted.

Liz Anjorin writes open letter to President Buhari over incessant killings

Liz Anjorin has now joined the list of Nigerians who has written an open letter to President Buhari over the killings that has been going on in the country.

According to the actress, the killings could actually be sponsored by those with corruption cases hanging on their neck.

Posting via her IG page, actress Liz Anjorin wrote:

”I can imagine the pain in your heart over the killings and calamities happening in this country. Carrying the Nation’s burden on shoulders is not an easy thing to do. Me, myself and I as a positive thinker I will like to tell you to brace up and pray harder. My question is, who is behind these killings? Could it be people you arrested for money laundering that are behind all these killings/calamities?

The families and friends of these people will never be at peace with this country because they will see it as if they were molested. Despite the fact that you are seeing it as a discipline act, some are seeing it as evil and molestation. Your Excellency Sir, Nigeria has no prayer or voodoo to make this Country grow but we have genius vodoo, pure evil mouth and heart to destroy this noble Country of you and I. The pains of killing is unbearable. Within 10days we’ve lost so many souls that can contribute to the growth of this Country. Some of this people that died are bread winners in their family. Some are the last blood line of their family. These people’s little taxes can speak volume in our economy if they are alive.

This sudden death and killings is not different from a parent buring their kids. Sir, if you and the whole world wants to see this as a baseless and senseless opinion, I don’t care. But please Sir, I beg you in the name of Allah RELEASE EVERYBODY IN THE CLAW OF YOUR GOVERNMENT CONCERNING MONEY LAUNDRING AND PAST GOVERNMENT ISSUES. MAKE PEACE WITH THE PAST GOVERNMENT, MAYBE THESE KILLINGS/CALAMITIES WILL STOP. EXCEPT IF IT HAS TO DO WITH KILLINGS, SIR. If we work hard in peace, we will make more money and pay our taxes as at when due.

Those people that are facing money laundering charges and party issues with your government might be the ones that are behind these killings and calamities to distract you from doing your job and they are using innocent souls to get back at you and their own children are overseas. Please, before their voodoo from Indian and from other African countries that has confirm evil voodoo finish us, Sir. As you can see everything look as if.”

FG to begin transfer of $322m Abacha Loot to poor Nigerians in July (See Details)

Abacha Loot

The Federal Government says it will commence disbursement of the recovered $322 million dollars Abacha loot through Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT) to 302,000 poor households in 19 states in July.

Mr Tukur Rumar, of the National Cash Transfer Office (NTCO), disclosed this at an event organised by the Swiss Embassy in Abuja yesterday June 28th.

According to Rumar, 19 states namely Niger, Kogi, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Kwara, Cross River, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarrawa, Anambra and Internally Displaced Camps (IDPs) in Borno are to benefit from the repatriated loot.

He noted that the benefiting households will be derived from the National Social Register (NSR) that the 19 states are already on and that each household would received N5000.

Meanwhile, the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Eric Mayoraz has said that the $722 million of the Abacha loot that was hidden in Switzerland was fully repatriated in 2005.

He also said that the 322 million dollars that was repatriated in Dec. 2017, was money that was frozen by the Swiss Attorney-General, but was not domiciled in Switzerland, but in other countries, mainly Luxembourg.

He, however, said measures had been put in place to ensure that Swiss banks were not used to hide stolen funds from other countries.

Nigeria lost to Argentina through Victor Moses’ wing – Kenneth Omeruo

Nigeria lost

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has said the 2-1 loss to Argentina in their last group game on Tuesday in St. Petersburg was because the Jorge Sampaoli’s men made Victor Moses ineffective.

The Super Eagles were some minutes away from reaching the knockout stage of the tournament with a Victor Moses penalty cancelling out Messi’s opener but Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo volleyed home the winner.

”I felt bad, the team came from a situation losing the first game, the second game we fought well and won the game,” Omeruo explained to TVC Nigeria.

”We knew we needed that last game to seal it up, the support we got after winning the second game was amazing.

”We really wanted to do it especially for our families and for Nigerians but we were unlucky.”

The central defender added, ”They were attacking a lot, they blocked our wing, they knew we were better from the Victor Moses wing because he is one of our best players, they knew this.

”They pressed on us, we defended well until the last four minutes.’

“Dear Nigerians, if prayers fixes countries, your country will be a world power”

Dear Nigerians, if prayers fixes countries, your country will be a world power.

I don’t know where to start from because there are a lot of things to talk about.

These few weeks, I sat down and questioned myself about my relationship with this country. Apart from being an abusive relationship, it drains you and leaves you without any strength.

Talking about abusive relationships on a generic sense; Many people are happy in abusive relationships because there are perks. Like the man that lives next to me who beats his wife but she drives the latest cars and wears designer clothes.

But the abusive relationship with Nigeria leaves you insane. Like, you legit walk around the streets of this country mad looking for who to transfer your aggression on!!

With all that has happened throughout this regime, I don’t think anybody in his clear senses will chose Nigeria as a country if he or she had the opportunity to choose.

The day Nigeria got eliminated from the World Cup, I wasn’t exactly pained. My friend called me and asked why I wasn’t showing pain or anger. He called me a hypocrite for crying when Liverpool lost to Real Madrid but being indifferent when “My” country lost. I laughed and told him that I didn’t make the choice to be a Nigerian. I made the choice to be a Liverpool fan. That’s the difference.

***************

This month alone, we have seen it all. We have looked terror in the face. we have never had this record of back-to-back pain. When you think you’re healing from the pain of yesterday, today a fresh pain begins. The map of this country is covered with sores. Deep smelly sores with pus.

I am trying too hard not to profile the happenings of this few weeks because profiling the death of people doesn’t resurrect them but we all know what we have gone through from the killings in the north, to the ojuelgba bridge accident, to yesterday’s inferno. We know this.

I want we Nigerians to know and understand that prayer is a beautiful thing but praying for Nigeria to get better without working towards it is like praying for snow during summer. You see how silly that is? Yes. That’s what we’re doing. Filling square holes with circle and triangular pegs.

Prayer doesn’t and won’t fix a country. Even in the Christian religion, it is often said that heaven helps those that help themselves. But here we don’t do Jack! We sit and pray from pain to pain disturbing God anyhow.

We prayed during the massacre in jos. Please tell me if God will leave everything he’s doing in heaven to come down to Nigeria just to help us do the right thing which is protest and demand answers from the government.

During the avoidable accident in Ojuelgba when a container fell down from a bridge and killed dozens of people. We prayed. For what?? For God to come down and inspect containers to see if they’re tied or if they are lose? For God to tell all the heavy duty trucks “I am God. Do not ply the road until it’s midnight”

During yesterday’s inferno a hashtag was trending #PrayforNigeria. I saw it and laughed. A country of prayer warriors with no result to show for it. The people who died yesterday, they prayed when the Jos massacre happened but guess what? They can’t pray again. We the living ones are making more mistakes by doing the prayer thing.

We want God to fight for us when all we do is stay behind our keypads and form pained with our big big English when we know that deep down it doesn’t mean anything!

Imagine living in a country where people lose their lives in numbers and all the flags aren’t flying half mast. Imagine living here and knowing that honestly your leaders don’t care about your existence!

If you die you die after all we are the most populous black nation.

Let us continue praying okay?

When we know that we have the power to walk to all the government houses and demand accountability. We can do this.

We can shut down all sectors until we see a change that appeals to us.

We can do a lot of fruitful things that will yield results but instead we chose praying.

Continue praying for Nigeria but I bet you. God doesn’t answer prayers of lazy people who think prayers are magic.

Militants threaten to blow up properties belonging to Senators for cutting back funds from the 2018 National Budget

Militants threaten

Some Niger-Delta militants have threatened to take actions against Senators from the region for irresponsible consenting to the cutback of funds allocated to key infrastructural projects for the region in the 2018 National Budget.

Below is a statement issued by the group after a meeting in Egbema, Delta state:

“The RNDA has declared all National Assembly members from the Niger Delta region as the true enemies of the development of the region and would deal decisively with them while their properties scattered across the Niger Delta region will receive a dose of our ravaging dynamites.

We note that the National Assembly members have not been able to attract projects but would sit down and fold their hands in the Green and Red chambers and superintend over reduction of funding for key projects attracted to the development of the long-neglected region by others.

It is shameful and abysmal failure on the part of our legislators in the National Assembly to sit down and endorse this injustice done to the people of the region when the President had already allocated funds for such projects with direct positive impact on the people.

It is totally unacceptable in this era as it will no longer be condoned for our elected representatives to pursue their personal interest to the detriment of the region’s development as was clearly displayed by former President Goodluck Jonathan in his epileptic six years reign while under his blind watch, allowed some of his ministers and cohorts to milk the wealth of the region dry without contributing any single project to the region.

We were totally taken aback over the reduction of funds allocated to the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenko. This was one project that we sacrificed our lives in the creek to fight for, the second Niger bridge, the East- West road that cuts across all the Niger Delta states, which former President Jonathan and his PDP government could not complete among other critical projects by the National Assembly.”

The celebrant who represented his home town well by being gorgeously dressed in his traditional Igbo attire, was in company of his friends as they dug into the beautiful meal garnished with assorted meat.

His family says the selfless act was no surprise.

Mozqueda, 22, left his Santa Clarita, California, home Saturday morning for a family trip to Sequoia National Park. When the family arrived around 7 a.m, they were eager to walk alongside the river.

It was slippery. That’s when the boy, Vincent Gonzalez, fell in, the boy’s uncle said. And even though Mozqueda couldn’t swim, “he was the first one to jump in” to save the little boy, Vincent’s mom and dad jumped in right after.

Lagos Tanker Explosion: Eyewitness shares ‘What really happened’, says those who died were foolish

A Nigerian man identified as OtunbaKush who says he was at the scene of Yesterday’s Tanker incident has taken to twitter to share his story of what really caused the tragedy.

He tweeted;

First it wasn’t that tanker drivers fault, a commercial bus dropped off passenger where there was no bustop and entered d fast land back without looking at his side mirror

The tanker guy tried avoiding an accident but look at what happened at the end, he stepped on his brakes, hit the partition and tripped over, now here is d part that got me like we are really mad in d country, ignorance kill all the people that died

that tanker didn’t explode immediately, people had 1min to save themselves, every minute counts in a n accident, people were trying to save their cars instead of their lives, there was a camry infront of the tanker, man was actually trying to reverse his car, he was so foolish

Save yourself and savage the car later, fire and electricity are like the same, from one path to the other, now assumption kill us for this country, people were in their car making videos instead of running away, fire started, panic sets in, I watched as people got burnt

It became a struggle contest, who’s gonna come out first, fire rounded them up, what they should have done first, dey did it last and paused with their lives, may their soul rest in peace.. But foolishness killed those that died on that bridge… God forgive all their sins.

Ahmed Indimi says his Father-in-law did not cause Plateau killings and Lagos explosion

Ahmed Indimi says

The Son-in-Law of President Buhari, Ahmed Indimi was called out by a lady for not using his platform to speak out against the wickedness and injustice going on in Nigeria.

@toniaero took to his comment section and wrote:

You are busy comparing heaven and earth Mr Ndimi! Are you aware of the fire incident that happened in Lagos that has miserably taken the lives of people ??

Are you not aware of the killing of innocent citizens of Plateau state and many others ? ?.

Have you seen your father in-law in nothing but a darkness to this nation??

People are dying on daily basis, yet nothing is being done about it. Can’t you use your platform to speak out against wickedness and injustice going on in Nigeria?! There’s God!

Buhari’s son in-law reacting to the comment wrote:

“What happened in Plateau is quiet unfortunate, I agree with you. May the soul of the departed rest in perfect peace.

“I believe the Government is doing what they are doing to stop this from happening again and I am sure you will say it should have never happened in the first place.

“It happens everywhere, there was a shooting in Maryland today and there other bad things happening around the world that are not preventable.

“I did not know about the fire in Lagos by the time I posted my picture, that’s why I was busy comparing earth and heaven.

“No my father in law did not cause it and he had nothing to do with it.

“Now that I am aware of the incident in Lagos, what could I have done to prevent it?

“I am not part of this Government and I have never been and will never be.

“Take your problems elsewhere, I am a private citizen just like you.

“I have never responded to anyone’s tweet, be rest assured this is the first and last time I will. I am quick to delete and block. Have a good day @toniaero”

Five Diabolic Things Yahoo Boys Now Do To Get Money

In recent times, Rich Nigerian youths with unknown source of income have become prominent in various communities around Nigeria.

These set of youths live lavishly, wear the latest designers, drive exotic cars and are celebrated often, but they mostly don’t have a legitimate source of income.
Most of these guys started with the usual ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ (Scamming white people), but it seems that isn’t just enough and they want it all, so they go through the dark route.

Some call it ‘Yahoo Plus’ Just recently, 14 Yahoo Boys were caught in the Ajah and Lekki Areas of Lagos by the EFCC, they were arrested and paraded after a tip off about their lavish lifestyle, but no legitimate source of income to back it up.

The were arrested with Luxury cars, Exotic laptops and Charms. The increase in devilish rituals explored by Yahoo boys in their chase for money is becoming rampant

Tough challenges in getting a regular ‘Maga’ to fund their lust for luxury and an extra comfortable life has encouraged them to give the fear-inspiring medium called Yahoo Plusa try.

Unfortunately, the occultic saviour offering financial upliftment has required ‘internet fraudsters’ to submit to jaw-dropping evil actions in their paper chase.

We have compiled a list of things fetish wealth seekers have done to get money.

See what Yahoo boys now do in order to keep making money since Yahoo no longer pays without going extra miles.

1. Eating Human Faeces

They eat it with bread in form of a sandwich Eeeew!!! That is a likely response when the idea of eating bread sandwiched with human faeces is considered but not to some Yahoo Boys.

A lady once overheard her ex-boyfriend in a conversation with pal who listened to him narrate his experience while eating the mixture which is believed to be one of the rights he needed to fulfill in a quest for money.

This is however minor compared to the next example.

2. Barking Once A Month As Part Of Money Ritual

A viral video of a Yahoo Boy captured as he barked like a dog for the purpose of money ritual is another cause for concern.

While his friends laughed at him in a living room, he continuously made sounds that resembled the animal. A feature that may make one wonder if he indeed is a dog.

The friends seemed unbothered as they laughed and cheered in the background. “Owo De” which means “Money has come”, can be heard in the background while the young man barked.

3. Black Magic ‘Oshole’, The Power Of Compulsion

The craft of a ‘Babalawo’, a pastor or a cleric, has helped some internet fraudster who patronise Yahoo Plus can help deliver to the money lovers the power to command a ‘client’ (person scammed) to their bidding.

This is an opportunity to cop some huge stash of American Dollars.

4. Wiping A Lady’s V*gina With Towel After Sex

It has been rumoured that some ladies in Nigeria are walking dead following encounters with youths who have looked to Yahoo Plus for money.

By wiping moisture from a woman’s v$gina after sex, it is believed that a wealth seeker is able to get what is desired after using the material in a ritual performed by a ‘Babalawo’ or any fetish lord.

5. Killing own Relatives For Money Rituals

Tunde Owolabi, also known as ‘Money Talks’, was captured in handcuffs as he crouched beside the corpse of a little boy reportedly 7 years old.

The image was provided in a post shared by Odueko Olumide John who expressed shock concerning the incident.

A grave-looking Owolabi had a look of intent as he tilted his neck sideways as if paying attention to a more serious reality.

There has been recent talk about Yahoo Boys on Social with many dismissing as robbers and others defending them.

EFCC Partners FBI To Fight Yahoo Boys

EFCC Partners FBI

“Trends in global security denote that cyber crimes is the latest form of terrorism and corruption and this is a growing concern affecting all nations in the 21st century,” Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, said on Monday at the Commission’s Head Office, Wuse II, Abuja, while playing host to a delegation of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI led by George Piro.

Mr Magu, while speaking through the Director of Operations, Mohammed Abbah, said the anti-graft agency in partnership with international agencies will leave no stone unturned in tackling menace as it posed a big threat to the global world.

“Petitions evolving from cyber crimes have been on the increase on the EFCC website. These scams are being duly investigated by the Cyber Crimes Unit with a view to bringing culprits to justice”, he said.

The anti-graft chief stressed the need for more international partners to tackle cyber crimes.

He appreciated the FBI for its “invaluable” support to the commission and called for sustained partnership.

EFCC Partners FBI

In his remark, Mr Piro who was excited to visit Africa for the first time, said the visit to Nigeria was borne out of the outstanding performance of the EFCC.

“The main purpose of my visit is to acknowledge the exemplary role EFCC has played and to thank you for the continuous partnership that has resulted in mutually beneficial rewards in the fight against corruption.

“The professionalism your team at EFCC has displayed is commendable; the impact of this is seen in the fortnightly briefs by the International Operations Division of the FBI which closely monitor the operations of the EFCC,” Mr Piro said.

He acknowledged the trend of cybercrime as “truly a global trend” adding that steps are being taken to address it.

His words: “We hope to eradicate cybercrime despite the challenges by getting the right (qualified and talented) work force and station them in United States of America as well as Nigeria.”

Mr Piro, an Assistant Director, International Operations Division, was accompanied on the visit by Jay Bernardo, his Special Assistant and Paula Parkinson, Legal Attaché, Abuja.

How 9 people were killed, 54 vehicles burnt as tanker exploded on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Lagos Tanker

It will be recalled that serious tragedy struck on Thursday at the Otedola Bridge, Lagos end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, after a petrol-laden tanker crashed and exploded.

A Punch Metro report has revealed that no fewer than 54 cars and commercial vehicles driving behind the tanker on the road were said to have been gutted by fire, during which nine people were reportedly killed.

Emergency management workers were said to have been mobilised to the scene to rescue commuters trapped in the accident.

Punch Metro reports that some motorists, who made a U-turn and attempted to flee the scene of the incident, crashed into other vehicles.

Lives were reportedly lost in the secondary accident that resulted from the confusion caused by the fallen tanker.

An eyewitness, Nkechi Obiageli, said the accident occurred around 5pm.

She said, “I was in a commercial bus heading towards the Mowe area of Ogun State. The bus was beside the tanker.

“There was traffic and when it cleared a little, the bus driver manoeuvred his way to the front. We were about a few vehicles away from the tanker, when we heard the sound of an explosion.

“The fuel from the tanker spilled on the expressway and all the vehicles at its back went up in flames. People ran for dear life. There was confusion everywhere.”

A bus driver, Sunday Esene, said his vehicle was burnt in the accident.

He said, “I had just dropped off my passengers at Berger bus stop and turned to buy fuel. I was on my way back when I saw the tanker. All of a sudden, it tumbled and hit the median. As soon as I realised that fuel was spilling out of the tanker, I abandoned my bus and jumped to the other side of the road. A few seconds later, the tanker exploded. I am sure over 50 vehicles got burnt with many lives lost.”

A motorist, Aderibigbe Oluwafemi, said he escaped death by a whisker as the tanker was in front of his vehicle.

He said, “We were in traffic. When the traffic eased a little, I noticed that the tanker in my front did not move. The next thing I saw was that the tanker started moving backwards and it fell. Immediately it fell, I opened my door, removed my key, phone and jumped to the other side of the road. My car got burnt, but I am happy to be alive.”

PUNCH Metro learnt that the rescue effort, which was coordinated by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, also involved officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, Lagos State Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos State Ambulance Service, State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, Rapid Response Squad, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the police, among others.

The General Manager, LASEMA, Adeshina Tiamiyu, said firefighters had put out the fire.

He added that some motorists were killed while attempting to run away from the scene of the fire.

He said, “The accident happened around 5.25pm and involved a tanker loaded with petrol. The tanker fell and spilled its content, causing fire which burnt 54 vehicles. The vehicles, which were of different models, were trapped behind the truck.

“Some motorists, who turned to run away, crashed into other vehicles. Some jumped out and others fell into the gutter in the course of running away. We found dead bodies on the ground and in the gutter. Some of the people who died in the gutter had probably been caught by the fire and jumped into the gutter to put it out.

“Nine dead bodies have been recovered and four were injured. Two were seriously injured, while two sustained minor injuries. The injured have been taken to a hospital, while the bodies have been taken by SEHMU to the mainland hospital mortuary. We are currently making efforts to remove the burnt vehicles from the road.”

The acting Director of the state fire service, Rasak Musbau, said four fire stations responded to the inferno.

He noted that the tanker was conveying 33,000 litres of fuel.

“The tanker was attempting to climb the steep road that connects to the expressway when it developed a fault. Our men from the Alausa, Ikeja, Ilupeju and Bolade stations responded. But the time we got there, the fuel was already spilling down the road and had caught up with a lot of vehicles. We got there four minutes after receiving the alert around 5.25pm,” he said

The Lagos State Sector Commander, FRSC, Hygenus Omege, confirmed that 54 vehicles were burnt in the inferno.

He said, “It is obvious that the driver lost control of the tanker. We heard the tanker suffered brake failure. We have counted 54 burnt vehicles. Four people, who were rescued, are in the emergency unit and about nine bodies have been recovered.”

Omege said one tanker, five buses, two trucks, one tricycle and 45 cars were burnt in the inferno.

The commander of the RRS, Olatunji Disu, said about 500 policemen had been deployed in the area by the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi.

Disu said the police had a tough time controlling a crowd of stranded commuters who were trapped in the traffic that had extended to the Third Mainland Bridge.

He said, “This is a major expressway leading out of Lagos. At the moment, the CP has mobilised 500 policemen in the area to assist with crowd control. The traffic has extended to the Third Mainland Bridge and people have started trekking down. They want to go home. We are still expecting more crowd and we are making announcements for people to pass other routes and leave this place for us to finish the emergency duty.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said the police had a record of 54 burnt vehicles.

He added that nine dead bodies were recovered.

“As soon as we got the information, our men mobilised sister agencies to the scene.

“The CP is saddened by this tragedy and he sends his condolences to the victims’ families. He has warned tanker drivers and drivers of articulated vehicles to make sure that they put in all necessary safety checks before putting their vehicles on the road,” he added.

Also, the state government on Thursday commiserated with families of victims who lost their lives, as well as those who lost their property.

The government in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kehinde Bamigbetan, described the incident as a sad development.

He said, “On behalf of the Lagos State Government, we extend our commiseration to the families of persons who lost their lives, as well as those who lost their property to the incident.

“As a government, we will not relent in putting measures in place to ensure safety of lives and property of all residents.”

The commissioner said Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had directed all relevant agencies to ensure that those in need were adequately taken care of.

In the same vein, President Muhammadu Buhari described the incident as one of the greatest tragedies witnessed in the country in recent times.

Buhari said this in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Buhari said expressed his condolences to the government and people of Lagos State on the tragedy.

“Sadly, this seems to be one of the greatest tragedies we have seen in recent times,” Buhari said.

The President urged the emergency services and law enforcement officials to do their best to limit the losses and damage from the incident.

Tanker Explosion : “You Can Not Pray Away Lawlessness” – Ali Baba

Comedian Ali Baba

Veteran comedian and actor, Ali Baba has penned down a heartfelt note in reaction to the tanker fire at Lagos Ibadan express which claimed many lives

He wrote:

“In organized societies, where traffic is a major issue, tankers and heavy duty vehicles move at night or at specified times. In developed climes, MOT agencies… are as serious as the police force. In some other climes, that have deep shores like we do, only one port can not be used for discharge of staples like fuel, and even then, fuel and transportation of inflammable contents are done in controlled methods. We are a Lawless country.

If government tries to organize these same tankers now, they will go on strike, shut down the economy and day to day running, and we will let them continue. Same thing with teachers… try to get them to go get retrained and be better qualified to teach, they will strike and we are back to status quo.

We do not punish people who even chop monies meant for projects. Projects that have been captured in the budget and monies released. The same people who chop the monies will now be in the ruling party and to prosecute them becomes a No No. And as nothing is done to them another person will do it. Just imagine.

Nigerians died today because of avoidable precautions and failure to create policies and laws that have consequences that could have detered that tanker from being on that road. But no. Law makers dont care. The Executives no send and the JUDICIARY is not jailing them. Bet me, more tankers will fall. Nothing will be done. Nothing”.

Presidency lists ‘killings’ carried out across Nigeria under PDP Administration

Nigerian Presidency

The presidency, describing the opposition party People’s Democratic Party (PDP)‘s declaration of 7 days of mourning for the Plateau killings as “irresponsible politics,” has listed the killings carried out during the party’s rule.

The killings were listed in a statement, titled “Plateau and PDP’s Crocodile Tears,” released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

PDP is playing “cheap, infantile” politics, the statement read, dancing on the graves of the dead.

The statement is not to say more people were killed under the PDP government than under APC’s, it read, but to show that the killings have been happening for a while.

Read the full statement below:

PLATEAU AND PDP’S CROCODILE TEARS – PRESIDENCY

The sad and unfortunate killings in Plateau State over the weekend have been turned to opportunity to once again play irresponsible politics, particularly by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which says it is declaring seven days of mourning.

These are dolorous times that call for deep introspection on how cheap human lives have become, and the proffering of actionable ideas on how to get out of the bind. But the PDP would rather dance on the graves of the dead, playing cheap, infantile politics.

The comatose and prostrate party is declaring seven days of mourning, during which flags in its offices would be flown at half mast nationwide. But unknown to the party, those flags had been forcefully lowered since its 2015 loss at the polls, and may remain so for a long time to come, because Nigerians are politically discerning, and cannot be hoodwinked by cheap antics.

A quick checklist of some savage and brutal killings in Nigeria during PDP rule, between 1999 and 2015, for which no national mourning was declared:

– November 20, 1999. Odi, in Bayelsa State, was invaded on orders of a PDP President. About 2,500 people killed. No national mourning.

– Between February and May, 2000, about 5,000 people were killed during riots over Sharia law in different parts of the North. No national mourning.

– In 2001, hundreds of people, including the old, infirm, women and children were killed in Zaki Biam. No crocodile tears.

– Between September 7-12, 2001, Jos, Plateau State, erupted in internecine killings. Between 500 and 1,000 people were killed. Flags were not flown at half mast.

– In February, 2004, at least 975 people were killed in Yelwa-Shendam, Plateau State. No mourning by the then ruling PDP.

– Between November 28 and 29, 2008, Jos was in flames again, with 381 deaths.
No mourning.

– In 2010, 992 people killed in Jos. Mum was the word.

– In 2014 alone, according to Global Terrorism Index, at least 1,229 people were killed in the Middle Belt. No mourning.

Boko Haram killings in PDP years were over 10,000. PDP flags were still fluttering proudly in the sky.

Those who take pleasure in twisting statements from the Presidency may claim we are saying that many more people were killed under PDP than under President Muhammadu Buhari. It would be unconscionable to do so. The intendment of this statement is to show that wanton killings had been with us for awhile; this government is working towards enduring solutions; and should be given the opportunity to do so.

Even a single soul is precious, and no man should take a life, which he cannot create. But when tragic situations as had happened in Plateau State occur, such should never be used to play crude politics. Those who are wont to do so should have change of hearts, or lose their very humanity.
