2018 UTME Exams to begin on Friday, March 9th

UTME Exams

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed candidates for the 2018 UTME to start printing their UTME Exams notification slip from tomorrow.

When will 2018 JAMB UTME Exams Start?

The board’s Head of Media and Information Department, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said arrangements had been concluded for the successful conduct of the exam scheduled to hold from March 9 to March 17.

”We have successfully conducted the Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Monday, February 26, and based on that, we can confidently say, we are good to go.

“The mock UTME was to expose the candidates to the process as well as test the level of preparedness of the various centres.

“Candidates can now go ahead and print their examination notification slips from Tuesday.

“These candidates must ensure that these slips are printed before Friday, March 9 in order to farmiliarise themselves with the examination schedules as no form of excuse for missing the examination will be entertained.

“We want to warn that the board will not reschedule any examination for anybody and so any candidate that fails to adhere strictly to the examination schedule as stated in their slips should have himself or herself to blame,” he said.

Benjamin, however, warned candidates not to go to their respective centres with prohibited items such as telephones, wristwatches, pens, and other devices.

Over 1.6 million candidates are expected to write the examination in 602 centres across the country.

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote yesterday commissioned the N1.2 billion Business school he built inside the Bayero University campus, Kano state yesterday March 3rd.

Dangote Business School

The Business school which will serve as an incubation centre for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial development in the country, comprises of lecture theatres, libraries, offices and cafeterias among others and was unveiled by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Dangote Business School

Speaking at the commissioning of the school, Dangote said he hopes the school will train and prepare future African leaders in business.

Aliko Dangote said ;

My interest for supporting higher education in Nigeria stems from the belief that we can and we should provide the same quality of education here in Nigeria like anywhere else in the world. Good quality education is fundamental in breeding a vibrant economy and society. My goal for this business school is for it to become a reference point when it comes to learning how to do business successfully in Nigeria and in Africa. This means that this business school should carry out studies and researches that are specific to our needs and ways of doing business which would allow more information to be shared globally on how Africans can do business. ‘’I believe that this business school can and should foster relationship with other business schools across Africa and the globe and I am sure they already have affiliation with three other universities. This business school will be training and preparing future African leaders in business, who will understand how to develop, and also train others to become visionary businessmen. I also see this business school playing a role in accelerating the economic integration of our continent,’’

Real men propose with pregnancy not ring — Nigerian guy

A Nigerian guy has rubbished the norms, where guys are seen proposing to their girls on one kneel, and presenting them with an engagement ring.

Identified as @KlannyPost on Twitter, he says he has no time whatsover to propose to a lady with a ring, as he’d rather impregnate the said lady, and they’d move on from there.

In a tweet that has since gone viral on Instagram, he wrote; “I don’t have time to propose to a woman, real man propose with pregnancy, not ring”.

..an epic response he received reads; “You look like a prudct of that kind of proposal”.

His tweet has been met with several reactions… and he’s chosen to defend his tweet by comparing himself to Davido and Wizkid.

He wrote; “If it was Davido or Wizkid that wrote this tweet now… Girls would be on queue trying to register their names in batches”

Don’t let your erection destroy your financial direction — Nigerian relationship expert

An England-based Nigerian relationship expert and Evangelist identified as Sola Adio has taken to his twitter page to advise men to let go of any lady who has this mentality.

According to @Solaadio, the Nigerian relationship system where a guy must pay a girl a monthly salary else she starts threatening to leave is absolute rubbish, and that the men should let those type of girls go.

Read his tweets below ;

This Nigerian relationship system where a guy must pay a girl a monthly salary else she starts threatening to leave is absolute rubbish.

Dear King, please let her go. Save the money up to acquire some assets towards your future family. Don’t squander your wages on a leech.

I am filled with anger hearing that many of these gifts these girls were harassing men for during val, are now being discretely offered for sale. Nigerian kings, won ti gba oju yin. Stop indulging these girls that won’t even marry you.

Dear Kings,

Don’t let your crave for fornication blind you to the financial poverty and waste you are about to wallow in. Fornication is resource intensive, financially.

Just totally dysfunctional that a girl you are not married to will be making unreasonable financial demands from you, for the kind of money your parents who slaved to pay your school fees can’t even get from you.

Have the gender cyber activists spared anytime at all to address the Nigerian upbringing and relationship malady where women are fast turning to aggressive monthly tax collectors in return for sexual services?

The first time I tried to shake this table, one Nigerian girl jumped into my mentions to say I should tell the Kings to get sex from their mothers if they won’t pay her bae allowance. I guess misogyny allegations only work the other way if I said the same back to her. ?

Dear Kings

Don’t let your erection destroy your financial direction. Let the Word of God restrain your loins.

Sola then concluded by adding; “As Christians, we should give cheerfully to people without expecting or demanding or accepting sexual favours in return. I have nothing against that. What I am attacking here is the entitlement mentality that opens the door to financial extortion and low-key prostitution.”

#BBNaija: “Why BamBam is the dirtiest housemate” – Ifu Ennada.

Big Brother Naija 2018 housemate, Ifu Ennada, who survived eviction on Sunday lambasted fellow housemate, Bambam for being a fake one.

Speaking during her diary session with Biggie, Ennada, described Bambam as the dirtiest housemate in terms of thoughts – Ennada is quoted as saying,

“Bambam is not real, she has the dirtiest thought. She is not real, she tried to do me bad.”

Bambam made quite a rave last week after she was caught on camera getting down with fellow housemate, Teddy A in the toilet.

There’s been different reactions to their action – a lady who even claimed to be a family friend of Bambam, Fisayo Awonuga alleged that parent’s of the housemate are angry with her for having sex with Teddy A in the toilet.

It shouldn’t be easily forgotten too though that Ifu Ennada was in the news when she claimed that she was used and dumped by Nigerian indigenous rapper, CDQ when she was just 17 years old – a notion which he rebutted by saying he actually had a one night stand with her.

The rapper had a chat with Sunday Scoop where he admitted that there was an affair between them, but claimed it was very brief. He said,

“Yes, I had sex with her but it was a one-night stand. She came to flirt with me, saying she was a journalist or something like that. We only had sex once. We forgot about everything and lost contact until she had the opportunity to be on TV and tried to take advantage of my stardom to get attention.”

Inasmuch as he feels bad about the development, the rapper stated that he had no plans to take legal actions against her.

“It’s bygone already; she has expressed herself. Even though I want to take legal actions against her, our judicial system is not solid enough. I am not saying I don’t know her. I knew her briefly when I was at the Lagos State University in 2008, but I only had an encounter with her once. I just feel she wanted to gain people’s attention by saying such, which is evil.”

Power Of Love: Nigerian Lady Marries In Benue Hospital, a day after she was hit by a truck.

A Nigerian lady named Ruth, got married with fractured legs in Benue State University Teaching Hospital a day after being knocked down by a truck.

According to an eye witness, Ruth was walking along the road on Friday, barely 24 hours day to her wedding, when she was hit by a truck driver and her legs were broken in the accident.

An Instagram user who was present at the hospital during the wedding ceremony, shared photos of the blissful event and wrote;

Love in the strangest of times and places.

Today is their wedding day. Yesterday a truck driver hit the bride and broke her legs. Diagnosis suggests multiple fracture. It didn’t break their spirits neither did it reduce the love.

Today, I was at the waiting area of the GOPD where the management of the BSU Teaching Hospital permitted us to hold the wedding ceremony. She was wheeled down in her gown to the venue and it was glorious. Folks who ordinarily came to seek treatment became wedding guests in pleasant astonishment. Her fellow patients had fun, ate food and shared her wedding cake with her.

Happy married life Ruth and Timothy Kwaor. It’s amazing how you embarrassed the devil today. Live long and may your marriage blossom.

Toke Makinwa Outs Anthony Joshua Over Comment He Made About His Niece.

Nigerian British professional boxer has come under fire from social media users recently following a comment he made about his niece.

Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa is not left out in this outing of the boxer – Joshua had in a statement, said he’s being lenient with his son, but strict with his niece because she would someday grow up to be someone’s wife..

Toke, quite saddened by his opinion about teaching a girl on morals, revealed that the problem is not peculiar to him as the society is the one to blame.

In a series of tweets, Toke bared her mind, as she lays out the reason why we all are at fault… the tweets read,

Reading up on the Anthony Joshua statement saddens me but it’s not an AJ problem guys, we are the products of our society and we are all guilty.

Too many seminars, groups, panels for women and who raises the men? From time this has been happening and the earliest we realize it does no one any good the better.

My brother n I started living together recently and I realized how much I enable him without even realizing it. Yet I have high expectations from guys I date. We are all guilty, it’s time we start to have these conversations.

Toke Makinwa Outs Anthony Joshua

As a female you condone your brothers keeping many girlfriends yet you want to cry wolf when another man does it to you, we let it slide when it is family, we need to do better.

We say “let’s boys be boys” but we can’t handle the reality of who they become! This must stop, we all have a part to play.

We all have a part to play. The last generation and ours might be lost but pls let’s start bringing up young men and not loving or tolerating them.

The next time you want to permit your son, nephew etc to not take part in home chores in the name of “he is a man”, look around you and have a rethink.

No be today it start, especially in Nigerian/African homes, we put so much pressure on the girl child and give our boys the pass on almost everything. Look around you, it’s killing them more than helping them.

Spiritually it’s a woman’s job too. Ahn ahn… I once heard a grown ass man say his mum prays or is a prayer warrior and he expects his wife to continue to cover him in prayers, why can’t he carry the burden spiritually too? #Amnotunderstanding

Let boys cry, stop saying “don’t you know you are a man”, they start to feel it’s a shameful thing to show emotions, stop teasing little boys about how many girlfriends they have in school, stop it. You plant seeds without knowing it

Raise children. Boy/girl to be accountable period. Not one sex gets a pass, less seminars/panels for women, involve the men too

Toke Makinwa Outs Anthony Joshua

The boxer came under fire after a March 2017 GQ interview surfaced online, where he said that he wants his son to ‘spread his wings’ but that he is ‘stricter’ with his niece.

He’d said,

‘I don’t think I’m that strict with Joseph, I don’t know why,’ he said.’But with my niece I’m strict. I think it is because she is older, but also he’s a boy – he’s going to be a man’s man, he’ll want to spread his wings, be a Jack-the-lad, build his character.’ He added: ‘But I am sure there are things I will be strict about. But with my niece, there is none of that Jack-the-lad nonsense for her!’ ‘My view is you have to be a good woman, respectful, one day you will be someone’s wife, you have to learn family morals… what it is to be a good woman.’

Nigerian Masseuse Calls Out Nigerian Men Over Seeing Their Faeces During Butt Massage.

An exasperated Nigerian Masseuse, has taken to her Twitter page to call out Nigerian men, who she wonders why, can’t wipe their butt clean, before coming for a massage.

Amaka Aniegboka who said she offers butt massage to people, who complain about their butt hurting after sitting for long hours in the office, shared on her timeline,

Why can’t men wipe their ass? I’m tired of seeing shit in you people’s butt hole during massage. And the worst part is some of them even want butt massage…wtf!!!

Yeah…there’s butt massage. Ladies do that. Some guys do that too They claim they sit in the office for hours and it hurts.

I don’t. Most of them refuse to cover themselves with towel. They be like “I want to be free, feel free with me”

Lmao…once you’re laying down naked(face down), anyone can see your butt hole depending on how wide you spread your legs. And as a massage therapist, I gotta work up to your head from your toes, one leg at a time.

Woman Sanctioned For Wearing Trousers To Igbo Meeting In Lagos.

Mrs. Esther Nweke, an Igbo woman has been sanctioned at a cultural gathering of Igbo people in Lagos for wearing a pair of trousers to a meeting.

A report by PM Express reveals that Esther didn’t expect what she got at the meeting after she was asked to say some prayers while the meeting was rounding off.

The traditional rulers, chiefs and other leaders present at the meeting upon noticing that the woman was in a pair of trousers asked her to stop the prayers and pronounced that she had committed an abomination.

However, Mrs. Nweke insisted that since she had been nominated to say the closing prayer she would go on. This made the leaders to walk out of the venue of the meeting insisting that they will not partake in such prayer which will attract curses on them.

It was gathered that her appearance may attract further sanctions to serve as deterrent to other women who might try such in the future.

Eze Lawrence Eze had summoned the meeting of the Igbo leaders to proffer solutions to the lingering crises in Alimosho LGA CDAs over the years.

It was gathered that the Igbo people in the LG were divided among themselves with different groups having their faction leaders, which made it difficult for the monarch to identify which group to associate with.

At the meeting the leaders agreed to unite, pursue a common goal and resolved to set up a committee to look into the crisis. However, another round of chaos started at the end of the meeting when Mrs. Nweke was nominated to say the closing prayer.

It was gathered that in any Igbo social gathering, married women are not allowed to wear trousers to such gatherings.

Some weeks back, a Facebook user took to the platform to share an incident that happened while she was commuting from Onitsha – according to her, a lady who donned a trouser had decided to preach the gospel to her fellow travelers when a man stopped her saying women shouldn’t preach on trousers.

She wrote,

Is it true that Ladies should not preach while putting on trouser?….

I was on my way back from onitsha when a lady sitting infront of me wanted to preach inside the bus, a guy sitting near me interrupted her and told her never to preach while putting on trouser, that next time she should dress like a child of God before trying to preach to others.

Argument ensuea, a lot supported the guy while some said it doesn’t matter what she is wearing so far her heart is pure, but the lady couldn’t preach again because the embarrasment was much.

What’s your take on this? does what one wears matters when preaching? should ladies avoid wearing trouser if they want to preach?

#BBNaija – Day 34: I want you, I want you not & more highlights

Did you watch day 34 of the Big Brother Naija 3 reality show?

If you missed it, we’ve got the highlights for you!

..

I Want You, I Want You Not

Lolu has been courting Anto for Bridget knows how long and the girl doesn’t seem to have buttons to press. The oga did get away with a kiss but we can’t say much about it as it seems she was giving Lolu the white flag just to avoiding giving it to K.Brule.

A Stain of Hope

If the feelings between these two were a portrait, Anto’s would be without shape or form, a Genesis to absolutely nothing. Lolu doesn’t see it that way though because his advances have been met with a residue of hope. When Ebuka asked Anto about her relationship with Lolu, she dully gave a somewhat positive answer, saying that something could happen. Like a napkin stained by egusi and yam residue, Anto’s paper light hope marked Lolu, again.

Not Happening

The most interesting part of this love limbo was definitely yesterday’s ‘bedtime gist’. Lolu brought out his feather-soft guns and hoped to get a reaction out of Anto but with the amount of shade she threw, it’s a good thing the sun had long set. He asked if there was any hope at all of them becoming a thing; explaining just how uneasy uncertainty leaves him. Anto seems to have filed and archived all the responses she would need to brush Lolu off because she quickly pulled out her classic ‘eggs in basket’ response. To further elaborate her lowkey rejection, she told him that she was and we quote “… one for all and all for none”; also mentioning that he had competition as other hopefuls kept sending her their resumes and sooner or later, she would respond because ‘someone’ kept directing her to look at ‘other options’. Lolu was definitely interested in finding out who those hopefuls were but Anto wouldn’t budge, she simply told him that she couldn’t reveal who it was and encouraged him to keep fighting. Air punching invisible player 2 maybe?

To serve it plainly with a dash of assumption, Anto is not into Lolu, at least not in ‘that’ way but, should he survive tomorrow’s chopping board, Anto would have to replenish her excuse archive because it doesn’t look like he’s giving up anytime soon.

What Winning Feels Like

It is a ritual in the Big Brother Naija House that on Friday nights, Housemates get to take part to the highly competitive Arena Games. For Housemates, after one last adrenaline pump, Friday nights have ushered in the weekend leading to the Live Shows. With a prize as an added incentive, Housemates have always given their best to the Games as they leave the Arena all sweaty and excited from getting their blood running so fast.

This week the winner was Ahneeka who was overjoyed to have finally won her first prize since entering the House. Everyone was surprised though they warmly cheered her and acknowledged her efforts. As her teammate, Angel was inevitably ecstatic about Ahneeka’s win for it meant that he too would benefit from it. He couldn’t contain himself as the pride in his eyes for the woman he really fancied was obvious for all to see. When the time came for their recompense, Ahneeka and Angel walked up to the bedroom where two massage tables had been laid out for them. Wearing a pair of skimpy jeans shorts, Ahneeka removed her t-shirt and buried her head in the table ready to fully enjoy the reward. Angel waited for her to be in full massage position to then remove his tracksuit bottom and lie on the adjacent massage table.

Yet he couldn’t help and cheekily started groaning loudly, which alerted the other Housemates who came running up to the bedroom, only to find both of them receiving massages on their well-oiled backs. A general hilarity ensued, as Housemates stood there enviously watching and wishing they too were receiving massages. Later, Ahneeka and Angel emerged from this very special treat looking all refreshed and relaxed, which didn’t go unnoticed by Rico Swavey as he poked Ahneeka that she looked like she was on another planet.

The Dance That Bore Rewards

The Pepsi challenge has finally come to an end and after a tiresome of dancing, the Housemates sure deserve a treat and boy did Pepsi deliver.

Knowing that they’d forcefully Wagered a hundred percent of the grocery allowance and how much Tasks contributed to their eventual wins; Housemates were full force into the game and left nothing to chance. The challenge did rub some of them off the wrong way though because the stereo went boom at any time, day or not and they were therefore deprived of sleep. This kind of reminds us of the baby challenge, their worst nightmare.

Slightly half way through the week, there were some quarrels surrounding their approach. Housemates were literally displaced and repositioned themselves strategically around the mats; with some earning points on merit and others almost cheating their ways to higher tallies. The Housemates eventually decided to collaborate their efforts in order to avoid injury only to have Biggie ounce the amazing prizes which include an all-expenses paid VVIP trip to the One Africa Music fest in London and 5 million Naira Cash. This eventuality almost changed their synchronized course as some Housemates felt like they were expected to sacrifice their chances of winning in order to accommodate the losers however, on HoH Tobi’s command, they continued in that fashion.

The last day finally came and the Housemates were freed from dance prison and were rewarded barbecue treats for their efforts. Though the challenge bore a few lumps of drama that resulted in quarrels, the Housemates fully enjoyed and like us, anticipate the big announcement.

42 Year Old Nigerian Virgin Continues To Keep Her Virginity, After Her Husband Died A Day After Their Wedding, 18 Years Ago.

A Lady on Twitter, has shared encounter with a lady she happened to meet in a bus – the most amazing part of this discovery is the lady’s faithfulness to her late husband.

The lady never got the chance to be disvirgined by her husband as her husband died a day after their wedding – she’d before his death made a vow to keep her chastity, and this she’s done for 18 years now.

She currently has 2 adopted kids. Her story is quite lengthy but worth the read…

Read,

I’ll like to share a story with you guys… pls grab a chair, sit back and sip coke… You should get a handkerchief too, just so maybe tears roll down ?

Thread!!!

On my way back home yesterday, I took a keke going to ikeja from grammar school… just as I entered, I mistakenly stepped on a lady who was already sitted in the keke, and politely I said I’m sorry… she responded with a smile.

After some seconds, I brought out my phone and was scrolling through my Facebook notifications… then she said, “Hi, my name is Mope, I’m a makeup artist just incase you need one for your wedding” ? I was like “What makes you think I’m not even married”

then she said… “well, you aren’t wearing a wedding band” cuz that’s the society’s style of identifying a married woman”

I laughed so so hard enh… (in my mind I said, this isn’t gonna be a boring journey afterall) meanwhile there was traffic… then I went further, “talking about the society, why must we always allow the society choose/decide for us… especially the girl-Child…

we accept wateva we are served” “A man isn’t always questioned for nt wearing his wedding band but a married woman dares nt, D first people dat will question her are the friends… Y can’t I just do wat I want wen I feel like?

She smiled and said, “Sis, you are already angry”

Then she said “we accept only because we are scared” I wasn’t really cool with the response but I just had to accept like that because we were almost at the last busstop… then I said…

“Anyway, I don’t even care, if my husband for any reason wouldn’t wear his wedding ring to work, I’m also not wearing” (I was joking sha ?) then she asked the driver “pls where can I get a bus going to Egbeda” ehehehe God had indeed blessed me today ooo, I said in my mind

(really I didn’t just want the conversation to end like that) I told her I was also going to Egbeda

We continued our gist as we walked together to ikeja along to get a bus going to Egbeda… somehow somehow sha, the conversation sha got deeper then she said “I’m married with two kids but they aren’t biologically mine” one is 17 and the other is 15yrs

(Huh! ? I looked at this lady like… how old are you? ??) cuz she was looking very young and pretty…

As if she read my mind oo, she said “You’ll be wondering how old am I” ? I was shocked when she said she’ll be 42yrs in April ? that’s how I changed to calling her hanty Mope oo ??

Still yet I was very curious and wanted to know why she adopted, could it be thAt she had given up on herself that she can’t ever give birth? I didn’t even know how to ask her but I really wanted to know

We sha finally got a bus and the stupid conductor will not allow me enjoy the gist in peace with his noise ?

I finally summoned the courage to ask her why she adopted because really, it’s hard to find a Nigerian who could be proud to say she adopted… she then broke the sad news to me ??????

This is the time you’ll need your handkerchief ☹️ and for those who gets too emotional, pls don’t read further ?

She said “I met my husband when I was in High school, he was the first male friend I had, we started dating wen I was in my first year in college and courted for 8yrs” all the while he never had sex with me because I told him I was a virgin..

“we both agreed not to do anything till our wedding night… although we were tempted many times but we held on still” on our wedding day, I made a promise to him that morning that No other man will ever get to lay with me no matter what happens”

“we both agreed not to do anything till our wedding night… although we were tempted many times but we held on still” on our wedding day, I made a promise to him that morning that No other man will ever get to lay with me no matter what happens”

”it’s been 18yrs now since he died and I am still holding on to that promise and I’ll forever hold on to it”

I suddenly became a stammerer.. dieeeed what??? I don’t get? You mean your husband is dead! Asin, what killed him? Who? Why? How?

She said, “he slipped in the bathroom and died, the saddest part was it was the morning after our wedding ?????? he didn’t even get to disvirgin me” ???????

Gosh! At this point, I didn’t want to hear any further… I was in great shock ?

Such a young beautiful woman ??? and like that, her beautiful love story was rewritten ?

I just kept staring at her in shock, everything else she was saying didn’t enter my ear again till she got to her busstop ?

I’m her last words… “I hope you learn from my story”…

Hanty Mope, I know I didn’t get the chance to tell you, I’m really inspired by your story, I don’t know why I met you but I’m convinced You’re God sent… I pray the Lord will Confort you and forever give you peace.

I hope to meet you again someday and if by chance you get to read this somehow somewhere, pls Don’t be offended I didn’t get your permit before sharing. God bless you sis ?

There was serious drama drama at Filmhouse cinema earlier today when a Nigerian man, literally pulled out his belt from his waist to publicly whip his wife… Why?! Because she interrupted the rendezvous he and his side chick were engaged on…

The Nigerian man who took his ‘side chic’ out on a movie date at Filmhouse got more than he bargained for after his wife showed up and created a scene.

According to an eye witness, the said wife trailed her husband and his alleged girlfriend to Filmhouse, Lekki, earlier today, March 3rd 2018.

On getting there, she approached her husband’s vehicle and told the girlfriend to wind down the window after which she gave her two heavy slaps, asking her to step out of the vehicle while shouting,

“He is a married man”

The alleged side chic

Enraged by the action of his wife, the husband pulled out his belt and began flogging his wife with it. To escape the domestic violence, the wife dashed back to her vehicle and tried to drive out but her husband blocked her, asking her to return the SUV as he bought it for her.

LASTMA officials had to intervene to stop the husband from beating his wife further.

Mysterious statue of Late Singer, Ebony Reigns surfaces in Ghana.

Ever since the death of popular Ghanaian singer, Ebony Reigns on the 8th of Febuary 2018, she has always been in the news.

This time, it is a scary looking statue of the late singer erected somewhere in the country that is making the news.

Below is a picture showing the statue depicting late Ghanaian singer, Ebony Reigns. It is not quite clear whether the statue is still under-construction, but social media fans have reacted to it with claims that it is too ugly and not befitting of the dancehall musician.

Meanwhile, a woman identified as Priscilla Agyekum from Hohoe in the Volta Region has narrated a dream in which she had an encounter with the late Ebony pleading to come back to life.

“I decided to have a nap in the morning, I slept off and had a dream. In the dream, I heard a cry from a distance and turned back to know who was crying, lo and behold I saw Ebony saying she will resurrect.

She went on to narrate that the spirit of the late dancehall diva led her to a group of people dressed in all black and told her to inform them that her remains should be removed from the mortuary and there her spirit can come back.

Ebony Reigns whose real name was Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, met her untimely death on the Sunyani-Kumasi road together with her bodyguard and friend.

No man should make you feel like he’s doing you a favour by marrying you — Nathaniel Bassey

Convener of the Halleluyah Challenge and Olowogogboro crooner, Nathaniel Bassey has shared on Twitter some marital advise for women.

The Gospel singer advised that no woman should allow any man make her feel like he is doing her a favour by marrying her. According to him, women are the ones who do men a favour by marrying them.

Read his tweets below;

“My dear sisters, No man should make you feel they are doing you a Favour marrying you. Actually it is the other way round, as the bible says a Man finds FAVOUR when He finds a wife. However, this shouldn’t make you arrogant. But rather carry yourself with grace and humility.”

“The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 18:22 NLT http://bible.com. Hence, you don’t make the treasure feel you are doing her a Favour. You are actually the one who should feel a deeper sense of gratitude to God..”

“Men who have found a wife that brings Favour would understand this. And I can attest to this. I’m not just speaking theory. Hence you won’t Acts like you are doing her a Favour marrying her. This understand makes you treasure her more.”

A follower on Twitter, however, disagreed with him tweeting;

The scripture is “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor FROM THE LORD”. Dear sir, respectfully I think this is wrongful interpretation of Scripture. The man finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord! The scripture is Proverbs 18:22.

Nathaniel Bassey however stood by his tweet saying;

“Thanks Prof. I still stand by what I shared.”

Big Brother Naija Housemate, Cynthia Nwadiora, popularly known as Cee-C, has declared that she believes none of the relationships in the house is genuine.

This is coming after her relationship with her fellow housemate, Tobi, crumbled.

Yesterday night, during her diary session, Biggie asked her to name any couple she thinks are genuinely into each other in the house, she said none.

According to her, even the relationships which may have passed off as genuine are questionable after hearing things the guys in those relationships say when they are not with their partners.

According to her, they are all playing games.

Meanwhile, most housemates when asked, named Cee C and Tobi as genuine. They held this stance irrespective of the former partners being at loggerheads.

Nigerian prison cells where inmates live like kings, use co-prisoners as servants

The revolting pictures of Nigerian prison cells on the internet and in newspapers are enough to give anyone visiting a jail house in the country a panic attack.

But amidst these dingy, damp and dimly lit rooms in prisons, overcrowded with the damned, deceased and dying from all over the country, there are cells reserved for some affluent inmates who live out their terms in happiness and merriment.

Over the years, overcrowding in Nigerian prisons has been a recurrent topic of discussion due to the large number of awaiting trial inmates in the system.

According to the Nigeria Prisons Service, 69 per cent of the current prison population is awaiting trial inmates as of February 12, 2018.

But in the face of this, the Federal Government has continued to ignore the stakeholders’ advice on the needed expansion of the existing prisons.

Despite this problem, affluent inmates do not have to worry about space.

While life is a daily tussle between the rich and poor in Nigeria, going to prison is another version of that struggle. With money, Saturday PUNCH learnt that inmates can live as much enjoyable life as they can afford within the walls of incarceration.

Some ex-inmates, who share their experiences, speak of “apartments” in the prisons where inmates live like they are in their homes with all the privileges attached.

These privileges, it was learnt, don’t just land on the laps of inmates. It is how officials make money on the side, while inmates without the financial muscle, rub shoulders in squalor.

In the Kirikiri Maximum Prison in Lagos for instance, it was learnt that inmates who have the money, pay anything between N70,000 and N300,000 to live in the VIP section.

An ex-inmate who has now become a prison reform advocate, Mr. Gwamnishu Harrison, shares his own experience across three prisons in the country, confirming our findings.

He says, “At the Maximum Prison, the VIP units are called ‘apartments’ rather than ‘cells’. Inmates live in self-contained rooms with personal access to shower, toilet, television and even generators.

“The amount you pay to live in the VIP section depends on how big your case is. If for instance, you were in prison because of a fraud involving a lot of money, they call you ‘big fish’ at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison. You would have to pay higher than others to get a special cell. The higher the amount of money involved in your case, the higher the money you pay to officials.

“Once the court pronounces that you have been remanded, the prison warders sit you down to tell you the situation you would meet at the prison. They would threaten you subtly that you would be put in the general cells, where inmates could beat you regularly but that if you were in the VIP cells, nobody would be able to touch you.”

At the Kirikiri Maximum Prison, inmates in the VIP section even get personal guards, it was learnt.

These guards are other less-privileged inmates, who have the “luck” of being chosen to serve the VIP inmates, with promise of some privileges.

“Once you get a space in the apartment, you are given other inmates, who are less privileged as ‘guards’. They protect you, clean your room and wash your clothes. No one can go into the apartments without informing the ‘guards’ working there. You take permission from them before you go in to see the VIPs,” Harrison says.

At the Kirikiri Medium Prison’s VIP section – C Ward and K Ward – the situation is not so different.

A crowded cell
Here, a newly built two-storey building is used as the VIP section.

Another block said to have been built by former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, called Abia Hall is reserved for lower-class VIPs – those who are rich but not as rich as people in C and K Wards.

Here also, an inmate, who pays between N50,000 and N150,000 enjoys the privilege of a personal room and toilet with shower and fan.

Where an inmate does not pay enough, he shares a room with another ‘VIP’, Harrison says.

He was at the Kirikiri Medium Prison shortly before his transfer to the Ikoyi Prison, Lagos.

According to him, one of the most important privileges of being an inmate residing in the VIP sections is the access to mobile phones.

“They pay a lot of money to warders to be able to use their own smart phones. Are you not surprised that there are sometimes reports of inmates defrauding people even while still in prison?” he says.

In May 2017, an Ikeja High Court in Lagos State sentenced a prisoner Ikechukwu Ogbu, to 18 years imprisonment for defrauding a banker, Patrick Edetchukwu, of a sum of N12.3m while serving a 10-year sentence for an undisclosed crime at Kirikiri Maximum Prison.

In October 2017, an inmate of the Kuje Prison, Ifeanyi Ezenwa, was accused of operating a fake bank alert fraud while in jail.

The police alleged that he defrauded an orthopaedic medical store of two wheel chairs and N50,000 and also scammed Elizade Motors into handing over a vehicle, which his accomplice, 43-year-old Dalhatu Yahaya, sold for N9m.

The VIP privileges enjoyed by inmates are not limited to the Kirikiri prisons.

At the Ikoyi Prison, there is a cell block called Booster, which one of our correspondents learnt was originally meant to house underage inmates.

Today, the block is used by VIP inmates and foreigners who have enough money to spend.

Harrison says, “It is like a flat. It even has its own fence and gate. It is separated from the main yard. Each room is self-contained and has flowers around it. All the inmates there use phones.

“Most of them use DVD players. They don’t eat the regular prison food. Their food are prepared by the inmates who serve them as servants, they give money to those servants to get foodstuff. With the help of prison officials, they buy frozen chicken, turkey and other things easily.”

In prisons, money is the key to many privileges.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that most of the less-privileged inmates make money in the prison by exchanging recharge cards supplied by their families outside with money from the VIP inmates.

For instance, when a lower class inmate sells a N1,500 card to a VIP inmate, he gets N1,000 in return.

At the Ogwashi-Uku Prison in Delta State, the VIP section is called Cell 6, a block of 13 rooms where an inmate enjoys the luxury of having a room to himself.

Harrison, who served out his term at the prison, says that once in a while, when there are more VIPs than rooms at the VIP section, two inmates might share a room.

But unlike Ikoyi and the Kirikiri prisons, here, inmates at the VIP section actually pay monthly rent.

“You have to pay between N60,000 and N100,000 to get a room in Cell 6. Every month, each inmate pays N4,000 monthly as a sort of rent even though they don’t call it that,” he says.

An ex-inmate of the Kirikiri Female Prison, identified simply as Ijeoma for anonymity, also tells Saturday PUNCH that there is also a VIP section at the female wing.

According to her, she left the prison in 2011 and at the time, inmates were paying between N20,000 and N40,000 to stay in the VIP section.

“We called it the B-Line or B-Cell. While other cells contained 50 inmates only four inmates shared a cell in the VIP section. Many of the inmates there also used mobile phones,” she says.

Corrupt privileged cells make money for officials – Giwa-Amu

Prison reform advocate and Lagos lawyer, Chief Gabriel Giwa-Amu, says he came to learn about how corrupt officials create privileged sections in the prisons over the years through his work.

But according to him, it is not in all cases that privileged inmates are separated from the general population due to corruption.

He says, “Some privileged inmates are separated because of their ailments. Some of them suffer from tuberculosis and other contagious diseases.

“But in many cases, corruption is in play. We have a place called Aso Rock at the Kirikiri Prisons, which was originally built by the British Council as a donation to the Nigeria Prison Service. The facility is so well-maintained with many amenities that officials now use it as an opportunity to make money.

“Depending on how much you can afford, you are not kept among the general prisoners. This is a system that has been going on for a long time. There is also a corrupt system in the prison where those who are committed are given medical certificates and are not kept in the prison yard but in the military hospital.”

Giwa-Amu confirms that indeed a cell block which used to be a juvenile unit has been converted to housing affluent inmates at the Ikoyi Prison.

“The juvenile unit called Buster does not exist at Ikoyi Prison anymore. It was abolished and moved to Abeokuta or Oregun Juvenile centres. The existing facility is what is now being used as cell for the privileged. But the juvenile unit still exists in Badagry Prison,” he says.

The activist tells Saturday PUNCH that the solution lies in decongesting the prisons. To make this possible, he suggests three ways: courts releasing offenders on personal recognisance; prisons exercising rights of refusal and expansion of prison facilities.

Giwa Amu says, “Courts should be able to release some people on personal recognisance rather than giving out strict bail conditions they would never be able to meet. Some courts remand pregnant women or someone with a disability when they know that the prisons are not equipped to take care of such people.

“Ikoyi Prison for instance should be able to turn back inmates when it knows that its facility cannot accommodate more than 1,000 people. I found out in my work with the prisons that the more inmates they have in their facilities, the more allowances they get from Abuja.

“There is a need to overhaul the Nigerian prison system because the society is dynamic. There is need to relocate some prisons like the Ikoyi Prison to places like Ibeju Lekki where the inmates can farm and grow what they eat.”

When Saturday PUNCH contacted the spokesperson for the Nigeria Prison Service, Mr. Francis Enabore, to confirm whether the privileges are sanctioned by the prison high command, he said segregating some prisoners, especially the high profile ones, from others was to minimise risk of attack and a way of keeping them safe. However, he said no inmate live like a king.

He said, “When an inmate is brought into the prison, we profile them to know the appropriate cell to put them. If you keep ex-governors, bank executives and high profile persons with armed robbers, street urchins and rapists, we all can predict what would happen to the man before the next morning. They would tear them into pieces.

“Rightly or wrongly, these other class of prisoners have that grudge against the well-off persons in the society, because they think they are part of the problem in the society.

“If we keep them together, you journalists would be the first to ask questions. That is why we segregate them because our mandate is to keep in safe custody anybody sent to prison. So, when people say we have special cells where people live like kings, I’m surprised, and no once can live like king in the prison.”

He also explained that the issue of prisoners serving some others was voluntary and a reflection of what obtains in the society. “People are wont to voluntarily be of service to the well-off people in the society and prison is a microcosm of the entire society. So, our communal way of living is what plays out there.”

Enobore noted that inmates were not allowed to bring in things like television but that some cells, which he called association cells, have television sets, usually “donated by religious organisations.” He, however, admitted that some inmates connive with some “unscrupulous” prison officials to smuggle certain prohibited items into the cells, but that this informed why regular search was being carried out.

Toilet Sex: BamBam and I are just having fun, I have a girlfriend — Teddy A

Big Brother Naija housemate Teddy A has reportedly revealed that his relationship with fellow housemate Bam Bam is just for show.

He revealed this during his diary session last night when Big Brother asked Teddy which relationship in the house he felt was genuine, he said just his and probably Alex and Leo.Then he went on to say, when he got into the house, he told everyone who cared to listen that he had a girlfriend.

He said he even let Bam Bam know and told her not to come close. However, as time went by, their arguments stopped and he got to see a different side of her.

He said that doesn’t change the fact that he has a girlfriend. On a second thought, he said he hopes he still does, considering what has gone down in the house between himself and Bam Bam.

In essence, he defined the situation with Bam Bam as just having fun despite having sex with her in the toilet on live TV.

Popular Actress Drinks Her Own Urine Live On TV (Photos)

Popular English actress, Nadia Sawalha recently drank her own urine live on an episode of Loose Women, a popular English TV show.

The atress who is also a TV presenter drank her urine on the show to demonstrate urine therapy which involves drinking your own urine and massaging one’s skin for cosmetic or medicinal reasons.

Nadia said she would only drink her urine if the loose Women producer did it first.

She said: “We do get asked to do a lot of things by our producers and so I said I’d do it if Ashely does and he said he would…he never imagined I’d make him do it.”

Ashley then came on screen and drank his wee to the screams of the audience before Nadia followed suit.

Her fellow panellists were disgusted as she grabbed her body fluids and knocked it back.

Denise van Outen gagged and looked like she might puke and said: “There’s bits in it!”

After drinking it back, Nadia scrunched up her face at the taste.

There was a little left in the jar and she jokingly told Denise to “put her finger in it”.

Andrea said; “Put a lid on it, you can’t ask someone to put their finger in your wee.”

So the question to YBL readers is ….. Can you drink your Urine for Medicinal or Cosmetic purposes ?

Bambam and Teddy A fight over food

Romantic partners Bambam and Teddy A got into a little fight after Teddy A called Bambam out for wanting to have an extra piece of chicken while she hadn’t finished the one served last night.

He felt that was selfish and equivalent to cheating the system.

Bam Bam tried to defend herself by explaining that the morning’s share was rightfully hers and therefore, she wasn’t trying to cheat anyone of a meal.

Teddy A seemed to be very passionate about the issue that kept insisting she was wrong.

During Bam Bam’s DIary session, she explained how everything went down ;

Diary Sessions

Biggie was no holds barred tonight during the Diary Sessions, emotions ranged from introspect and joy to tears and truth.

The Highs and the Lows

Biggie probed the Housemates tonight and the reactions were very interesting, two of the most extreme cases tonight came in the form of Nina and Angel and Ahneeka. Nina, who is known for not holding back during her Diary Session was literally like a consultation with a psychologist. Nina burst into tears only five minutes after sitting down and Biggie had to come to her aid. She was extremely frustrated over the Pepsi “Roc Da Mat” challenge. Biggie even did a light meditation with her to clear her mind and told her to stop doubting herself. Angel and Ahneeka on the other end of the scale were bundles of joy. Angel fully admitted to his true feelings from Ahneeka and Ahneeka acted like a smitten school girl during her session and expressed mixed feelings over winning the Arena Games. behaving shyly when asked about Angel and admitting her physical attraction to him.

Truthful Tobi

Tobi is a stand-up guy and he is always honest during his Diary Sessions but tonight he really played into his role of HoH. Basically he stated that he felt none of the relationships in the House were real apart from Miracle and Nina’s. He said everyone was just making strategic moves. He was also clear that he did have feelings for Cee-C but he has since different side to her and it has not been good for him.

Real Love

One of the questions that Biggie asked all the Housemates tonight was if he felt any of the relationships in the House were real. Every single Housemate had one constant, Nina and Miracle really had true feelings for one another and everyone felt that their relationship would evolve beyond the House. Could it be true love?

Anger

Another consistent fact that each Housemate expressed was their frustration towards the “Roc Da Mat” Challenge. Nina and Teddy A were the most distraught but BamBam also brought up how savage everyone had become all in the name of competition.

Arena Games
Girl Power

The Friday Night Arena Games have been male dominated ever since Double Wahala started but tonight marked the turn of the tide. First it looked as though Ifu Ennada was going to take the title until Ahneeka came through with a bang! She literally stunned everyone when she cremated the Arena Games in less than 2 minutes. None of the guys came close.
