“The cowries were for my late brother” – Ilebaye debunks claims that she uses charm

Big Brother Naija “All Stars” winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has denied claims by her colleagues that she engaged in fetish practices during her time in the Big Brother house.

Recall that fellow ex-housemate, Princess and CeeC had hinted that they saw Ilebaye wearing a cowry and communicating with a weird suspicious object.

In an interview with media personality Christy O, the Kogi-born model explained why she was talking to the cowries which she carries everywhere in memory of her late brother.

Ilebaye said that her primary motivation for being with the cowries was her need to cling to anything substantial that would serve as a reminder of her brother.

Christy O host asked; “There is a claim online where CeeC was saying that you had cowries that you were talking to. Can you tell me more about it?”

Ilebaye replied;

“I had something precious to me. Because obviously, you are supposed to have something precious when you’re doing something that you miss at home.

And the cowries were for my late brother. It has been with me and even the baton. I have a baton on him too.

I didn’t know where to keep it. I was just like, Oh! Let me hold something strong. It just helps me feel like he [my late brother] is around. He is still with me.”

The BBNaija winner went on to say that she was unhappy when the reality show ended and she learned what CeeC had said in the house.

Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu, has tackled Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah over his call for humanitarian aid to be sent to Gaza immediately.

This comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. On Tuesday, a massive explosion rocked a crowded hospital in Gaza city, killing hundreds of people.

While Palestinian authorities say the explosion was caused by an Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) airstrike, Jewish officials denied responsibility, claiming that it was caused by a ‘failed’ rocket launched by the terrorist group, Islamic Jihad.

Speaking on the incident, Salah described it as horrific and urged world leaders to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza because they are in a dire situation.

Salah in his message said:

“It’s not always easy to speak at a time like this. There has been too much violence and brutality, the escalation in recent weeks has been unbearable to witness.’

All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop, families are being torn apart.

What’s clear now is that humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed immediately. The people there are in terrible conditions. The scenes at the hospital last night were horrifying.

The people of Gaza need food, water, and medical supplies urgently. I am calling on world leaders to come together and prevent the slaughter of innocent souls. Humanity must prevail.”

In reaction to Salah’s message to the world, Ogu blasted him for staying silent when Hamas attacked, killed and abducted innocent Israelis at a festival earlier this month, which started the war.

Ogu, who plays for the Israeli club Maccabi Jaffa, also claimed that Egypt refused to accept some refugees amid the ongoing conflict, insinuating that Salah doesn’t have a right to speak on the issue.

FG to shut down third main land bridge in Lagos to udergo repairs, motorists advised to seek alternative routes

In a recent announcement, the Federal Government has declared the temporary closure of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos for essential repair works.

The closure is scheduled to commence from midnight on Saturday, October 21, and will remain in effect until midnight on Sunday, October 22.

Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, stated that the government is fully prepared to initiate comprehensive rehabilitation efforts on the bridge, starting with critical repairs of the deteriorated sections.

To address the ongoing challenges faced by motorists, the Ministry has planned palliative measures to alleviate the inconvenience caused.

In her statement, Kesha urged road users to cooperate with traffic management officials and adhere to all diversion instructions for smooth traffic flow.

While the palliative works are scheduled for Sunday, October 22, on the Adeniji bound carriageway, motorists are encouraged to consider alternative routes whenever possible during this period.

Consequently, the Adeniji bound of the bridge will be inaccessible from Saturday, October 21, until Sunday, October 22, at midnight.

As the closure approaches, it is essential for motorists and commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and make use of alternate routes to minimize disruptions.

The temporary closure of the Third Mainland Bridge serves as a proactive step in maintaining the integrity of Lagos’ transportation network, and the Ministry appreciates the public’s patience and understanding during this period of necessary maintenance.

In a very sorrowful report that has reached us, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been brutally killed in Kaduna state.

The University of Jos graduate, identified as Grace Chalya Silas, was reportedly stabbed to death by yet-to-be-identified assailants suspected to be armed robbers.

Although details of this tragic incident are still sketchy at the time of writing this report, it was gathered that she was robbed and murdered while jogging on the morning of Wednesday, October 18.

Meanwhile, friends and former schoolmates of the deceased have taken to Facebook to mourn her unfortunate demise.

One Comfort Elisha wrote,

Popular Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck has shocked Nigerians by disclosing why he turned down a request to meet superstar singer, Davido in 2019.

He clarified that Davido’s fanbase consists mainly of Afrobeats fans, and he felt that his music wouldn’t resonate with them.

Popular Nigerian actor,John Ibu Okafor has cried out for help on social media; the actor who has been ill for quite some time now explained that the ailment has gotten worse.

In a video he posted via Instagram, the actor called on all Nigerians to assist him financially and with prayers as his health condition requires a surgery.

Accompanying the post, the actor wrote in the caption,

According to him, he explained that the doctor said if any of the treatments does not work the remaining option left is to cut off his leg.

Reality TV star and TV host, Maria Chike Benjamin, has come out to lament the rate at which her new newborn son is consuming food and to advise the public to beware of Igbo guys.

Recall that the reality star recently welcomed her first child with her heartthrob, Kelvin, and took to social media to celebrate his birth.

However, it seems the baby’s rate of eating has been mind blowing and the new mother had to share her plight on social media.

She wrote;

A while back, Maria took to social media to proudly showcase her growing baby bump.

The reality TV star shared a video where she showed off her catwalk skills in a lobby.

Maria excitedly strutted down the lobby, wearing oversized denim pants and jackets along with a crop top that highlighted her baby bump.

This video comes shortly after she shared stunning maternity photos which featured her partner who stood behind her and conspicuously hid his face.

In a Twitter frenzy, reality TV star Phyna, the victorious Big Brother Naija Season 7 level up winner, called out Afro beats sensation Davido.

The reason? A simple “like” on a tweet about celebrity stan ship that left Phyna scratching her head.

Phyna took to Twitter, confused and openly wondering what she had done to ruffle Davido’s feathers.

Amid her confusion, she managed to congratulate him on the arrival of his twins, but the burning question remained: “Why the hate?”

The root of the drama lay in a tweet that caught Davido’s attention.

A Twitter influencer quipped that stanning certain celebrities, including Phyna, was a sure sign of uselessness. Davido, in a moment of accidental endorsement, hit the “like” button on that very tweet.

Davido, swiftly responded to Phyna’s call-out, he thanked her for the congratulations, while also admitting that he had no clue who she was.

He assured her that the “like” was an honest mistake and promptly Unliked the tweet in question.

His tweet said:

Thank you love but I actually don’t

know who you are.. and it was an honest mistake.. no vex.

The internet erupted with laughter and divided opinions, as the memes flooded in.

Many found Davido’s response savage and hilarious, they playfully suggested that she should save her energy for matters of greater importance and her expectations are too high, telling her to take a step back and relax.

Meanwhile, a handful accused Davido of chasing clout and unable to understand how he could be unaware of  Phyna’s existence.

Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, has stated that conducting a DNA test on the singer’s son, Liam, is mandatory to determine his paternity.

In a recent interview, Mr. Aloba emphasized the necessity of the test, citing the demands of other Nigerians both home and abroad, and the need for future clarity.

He stressed that in his community, they do not accept ‘bastard’ children, and the paternity of the singer’s son must be proven beyond reasonable doubt.

Reacting to reports of a DNA test that supposedly confirmed Mohbad as the boy’s father, Mr. Aloba stated that such a test could not have been conducted without his knowledge and approval.

He also mentioned that the test must be conducted in multiple labs to ensure the accuracy of the result.

His words,

“It is a must they do it. Nigerians have been demanding that they do it and so it is a must that it is done. We are even hearing that it has been done but there is no way that such will be done without informing me who is the father of the deceased or for me to send someone to represent me while the test is being done. Even if they do it, it must be done in two or three places so we can know the truth.

Where I am from in Ikere Ekiti, even the Olu of Ikere just left here after paying me a visit. We don’t accept bastards. It will be a thing of joy if the child is Mohbad’s own because that is the only child Mohbad left behind for me. Three days before his death, I was with him. He served me food, put Liam on my hand while he was taking pictures. It will be a thing of joy for that child to be mine because I love that child but if it turns out Liam is not his son, it will not be good if we do not find out the truth now because of future. Even so that Mohbad will not also blame me for accepting something like that. So it is necessary for the DNA to be done.”

Speaking on the autopsy being awaited and future burial of the deceased singer, Mr Aloba said,

“The autopsy is taking time. I did not know it will take this long because the corpse of that child, Mohbad, is suffering where it is. But we are not more powerful than the government. Many Nigerians demanded for the autopsy and they are doing it now. I will call one of the Senior Police officers after the interview and ask if they have finished taking all they need from his body so that he can be buried.”

He said he doesn’t know when Mohbad will be buried. He mentioned that some people say that the late singer appears to them and that this is happening because he hasn’t been buried.”

In a video shared on her Instagram page, the 52-year-old actress queried Gen Zs for their habitual lateness at social events.

This observation comes from her recent experience at the All Stars inter-house sports event, where she arrived early and had to wait for others, including the hosts, Enioluwa and Tomike.

The 31-year-old star, who rose to fame after participating in Big Brother Naija in 2018, stated that people who partake in such conflicts are likely battling with an undiagnosed mental illness.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, June 7, Leo stated that he contracted the said plumber to carry out a job and was given a quotation of N700,000 but he contacted another plumber who gave him a N250,000 quotation for the same job.

Leo declared that he wouldn’t be working with his plumber again after the shocking discovery.

He tweeted;

On the occasion of their third wedding anniversary, the man recounted how his wife turned down the opportunity to relocate to Australia to study because she wanted to marry him.

Popular Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke has described how six different pastors took advantage of him after realizing his urgent need for a miracle in his life.

Jim Iyke recalls his contacts with Pastor TB Joshua, the late leader of the Synagogue Church, and other godly men in 2013.

Jim made headlines in 2013 after a video of him losing his temper in church leaked.

Jim confessed that his participation at the church was solely prompted by his fervent hope for his mother’s recovery, which was driven by a feeling of desperation at the moment, in an interview with Gbadewonuola Olateju Oyelakin, also known as Teju Babyface.

He said;

“The only thing they could do was attack my personality, attack my integrity, I’ll never be desperate again in my life. Desperation was what took me there, to take my mother there, hoping that a man of God, quote and unquote would heal her.

She lives here day and night, I still have conversations with her, she’s never left. When I’m done praying with God she is the next person, I know how many times my mum appeared to me in dreams, if she were to live twenty TB Joshuas will not stop her.”

While sharing his experiences, Jim Iyke remarked that TB Joshua was not the only spiritual guide he sought out.

He asserted that he had spoken with five or six different men of God, and he was blunt about how they had taken advantage of him and cheated him.

He added:

“It was her time, nobody would have made me enter that space, he wasn’t the only one I went to, I have been to five or six men of God, is it because I don’t want to mention names?? How they drove me the money they took from me.”

Popular veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has sparked concerns online as he was captured celebrating his birthday in the hospital.

During the birthday party, which was broadcast live on his own Instagram page, the actor was spotted in a hospital.

To add to the celebration, a cake and numerous bottles of juice were placed in front of him. The actor was surrounded by people who sang him happy birthday songs in an effort to cheer him up.

Throughout the video, Mr. Ibu was observed making a number of uncomfortable facial expressions and motions, which suggested that something wasn’t right.

As a result, the actor’s fans voiced their worries and some even wished him a happy birthday in the comments.

A video which was posted on Instagram and is currently trending, has caused a lot of buzz with social media users having interesting reactions to it.

The video which focused on the resemblance of a child and his daddy has gotten netizen asking questions like why must a child take only the physical appearance of one parent and not both.

In the video, a baby boy and a grown man are seen sleeping together in the same position and judging by their faces, one could infer they are father and son.

Taking a glance at the comment section, people are seen dropping different opinions regarding the video, “like no DNA required”.
