Actress and entrepreneur, Chika Ike took to her Instagram page to narrate how she was constantly bullied while growing up because of her body and height.
Read her story below…
“I never liked my body growing up and was constantly bullied about it. I was so skinny and was the tallest in my class.
“I never looked forward to morning assembly because I’ll have to stand at the back of the class or class presentations to talk about “your best friend “ because I’ll be described as the thin girl.
I can remember eating all sorts to things to gain weight but nothing worked, I really craved to have some flesh on me.
“I was called all sorts of names like Lepa, thin girl and Agric chicken because I was so skinny and tall.
“So I started modeling as soon as I graduated from secondary school because modeling agents thought I had “the look”.
Today the reverse is the case, I’m on all sorts of diet programs and exercising every other day to keep the weight I’ve always wanted in check, I feel bad after licking ice cream or eating anything with high-calorie content because ill have to suffer in the gym.
Growing up slim wasn’t cool now its cool. The truth is you have to constantly love you, you can’t be cool to everyone, the world will always have a standard of what you should be, who you should be and how you should live your life.
If you want to make changes or improvements let it not be because of pressure or people’s unconscious bias about you.Do it for you.
You should hold your pen and draw your life plan… Do you… Mind your business…..Run your race.
Do not let anyone define you or rush you with their timeline. We all have different stories, journeys, and different clocks. You are you and that is your power!

Biodun Okeowo, Nollywood actress who is best known in the Yoruba movie industry has been called out by a fan after she gave an inconsistent story of her grass to grace growth.
Yesterday we brought you news on the actress narrating via Instagram how she got pregnant mistakenly eighteen years ago which made her face many struggles in life before she eventually made it.
Biodun Okeowo wrote:
”Eighteen years ago, I got pregnant. A mistake I thought has ruined my life. People laughed, jeered and mocked me… #YetIwon#
The embarrassment was too much, that it gave me strength to decide I must go back to school. I enrolled at L.A.S.U (part-time)
With no support from anyone except my mum. I did so many menial jobs to cater for myself and the new baby. I fried doughnuts and Chin chin, which I supply to retailers on campus. I sold rice outside mummy’s shop on days that I have no lectures. I sold hair extensions, make hair, ‘stay awake overnight to make hair for people (one million braid) was in vogue then.
I remembered a particular day I fed my son with soaked garri! Yes, I couldn’t afford a tin of even the cheapest ‘My boy’ baby food then.. #yetIwon
I struggled, refused to beg, worked, toiled, laboured to be able to stand on my feet. Whatever you are going through be strong, positive, hardworking, and steadfast. And No matter how poor you are, invest the little you get into something.
Fast track to 2006 I joined the movie industry after my IT at The Lagos State Television Agidingbi. Acting is another chapter in my life. I experienced mockery, intimidation. I was called different names, looked down upon, aliases like “Biodun oni cut and sew” and “Tolani Alankara”
I could not afford the expensive cloth/costumes. I was not sophisticated enough. #YetIwon.
Dresses/dressing didn’t pave way for me neither did it stop my success. However, my God given talent make it all possible and easy.
The name people call you today doesn’t define you… be focused, strong, determined and be content with whatever you have.
I almost quit because of intimidation, but that strength of “i must make it” came into play. I refused to be intimidated, bow to pressures,or borrow. I was contented with my “cut and sew”. #yetIwon
Then came the trial that pushed me into becoming an entrepreneur.! For two years I was ignored, no movie jobs, not because of inexperience but because of… yet I persisted. #yetIwon.
I prayed, fasted, and believed in myself. Thereafter, I did a movie that launched me back into reckoning #YetIwon#strongwomen#M
That experience pushed me into the business world in 2011, which wasn’t a success but I wasn’t discouraged. I ventured into another, gave all my being… prayer, Time, money.. Here I am.. a proud girl.. proud of the woman I become, I AM A WINNER.
Don’t be pushed. Your time is different from mine. Mine is different from yours. God’s time is the best. The rejected stone has now become a cornerstone”.
However, a fan of the curvy actress with retentive memory called her attention to an interview in which she claimed she got married as a virgin, which is quite different from her narrative of getting pregnant eighteen years ago.
Read the interview below.
As unbelievable as it may seem the actress married as a virgin. At least, she told Potpourri that much in a recent chat. Now, how many women can come forward with such a claim in this flurry-hurry world of quick fix.
“Yes, I did and I can boldly say that,” she declared.
She then went on to bemoan the spate of pre-marital sex among the youths these days, saying it is not a good sign for the future
“It is saddening that pre-marital sex has taken over our time. In the past, most of our men would disassociate themselves from girls who have been deflowered outside wedlock. Then, a woman’s virginity was her pride but time has changed and human beings have changed. I am not happy about it. Maybe we should blame civilisation or modernisation for this. I pray for God’s intervention in this era”
Describing her first encounter with sex, she says
“My first experience was full of fear, uncertainty, pain and alas! I loved it at the end”

Recall that rumours surfaced sometime ago that the housemate is a sister-in-law to Ebuka. However, Ebuka’s wife, debunked the rumours.
While speaking on Sunday with fellow housemates about their careers, Cee-C boasted that she went and met Ebuka which reportedly paved way for her to be selected for the show, according to a report by DailyPost.
“I know myself. I’m a f**king lawyer. People have been calling me, asking what is wrong with me, saying ‘girl come on! Go do your masters and face your career.’
“But they don’t understand why I finish law school and decided to come to Big Brother Naija house.
“I know people. If I tell you how I met that one that came here yesterday (Ebuka) you won’t believe it.
“One day I drove my car to see him to tell him I want to be part of the show.
“When he asked my name and I told him, he was surprised based on ‘who I be’.
“And just last week, we met Adesua. That is life. Just knowing people.” Cee-C revealed.
Viewers of the show had in the past accused the organizers of handpicking selected people for the show because of the people they known unlike last year’s edition. A former Big Brother Naija housemate, Gifty even expressed the same concern.

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela has died on Easter Monday, aged 81, her personal assistant said today.
Her personal assistant Zodwa Zwane gave no further details but said a statement would be released later.
Earlier this year, Nelson Mandela’s ex-wife was hospitalized for a kidney ailment and exhaustion.
She was admitted to a Johannesburg hospital in January, after complaining of a ‘loss of appetite’ and that ‘one of her legs was painful’.
Ms Madikizela-Mandela had also been in and out of hospital since 2016 for back and knee surgery.

During her ex-husband’s 27-year imprisonment, Ms Madikizela-Mandela campaigned for his release and the rights of black South Africans.
She became a symbol for the anti-apartheid struggle, undergoing arrest and banishment herself.
She walked side-by-side with her husband upon his 1990 release, and as he became South Africa’s president in the first post-apartheid elections.
IN 1996, Mandela divorced her and fired her as deputy minister of arts and culture, but she kept his name and stayed close to her ex-husband until his death.

C.E.O of Payporte, Eyo Basssey has reacted to the eviction of housemates, Teddy A and BamBam from the on-going reality show.
Payporte is the official sponsor of Big Brother Naija 2018.
Teddy A was on Sunday night evicted, few hours after his romantic partner, Bambam also got evicted.
Reacting, Eyo stated that housemates were warned that sex or nudity didn’t guarantee support from viewers.
Eyo wrote on Twitter:
”I hope everyone will understand and see clearly that ‘sex and nudity does not sell on #BBnaija. @payporte has maintained this position. Compared to last season when neither sex or nudity was televised we all can judge. I hope my fellow colleagues can get the message. #Bamteddy.
”I warned and they refused to listen. Sex doesn’t sell this @bigbrothernaija. we insisted on this last season and the show was clean and shattered all records. This weekend eviction is another pointer.”
Then he immediately retracted his statement, and posted the below;
Police in Kampala has in detention a man, identified as Kadu Herbert, who earlier in the morning stormed Namirembe cathedral church and attempted to attack Bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira while on the altar.
According to eye witnesses, Kadu came at the church premises cruising in his super custom and parked at the main entrance to the church.
Although there was heavy presence of security personnel, Kadu is said to have beat the security and ran through the church corridor, armed with a knife, as if to beat Bishop Luwarira.
The man of God was however saved by the swift church ushers who rushed, grabbed but were overpowered and called in the police that took him away to Namirembe police post.
Speaking to media after the incident, Luwarira said the man looked as if possessed and couldnot be stopped.
Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson says they are interrogating Kadu to establish his motive.
Khloe, has emerged as the new Head of House for this week, making it the second time she’ll be occupying the position.
As part of the rewards of emerging Head of House for the week, Khloe will enjoy immunity from being nominated for eviction and at the same time possess some veto power over other housemates on the Big Brother Naija show.
Recall that, Khloe was initially disqualified from the show, but was brought back to the House when Big Brother announces that viewers had the power to bring back two evicted housemates by voting for the fellow housemates who they want to see on the show.
Khloe and Anto had the highest number of votes and were brought back to the House to continue the game.
The internet has been inundated with the news of an upcoming Camon X device from TECNO Mobile which will run on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo.
According to what we heard, the upcoming smartphone will launch with a highly rated Selfie camera that shoots better pictures than the almighty iPhone X.
There are rumours that the upcoming smartphone will feature a Blink and snap feature that will make it possible to take selfie with just a blink of the eyes.
While we cannot confirm how true this was, TECNO CAMON devices have not just been awesome, but have totally changed people’s perception about smartphone cameras in recent times.
I got this camera comparison , I don’t know how true it is but images on the right are the Camon X, left is iPhone X and definitely the Camon X is better.
Looking at the picture, the one on the right maintained the natural colour of the lady with a well-balanced exposure while the one on the left looks more saturated.
IPhone X VS Camon X-Portrait Mode
In this second picture, both devices did a good job of blurring out the background but the picture on the right has lost the natural colour of the lady and the cloth is completely washed out.
No doubt both devices did a good job but one would wonder that despite the over $1000 price of the iPhone X, the Camon device still goes head to head against Apple’s most expensive phone.
I still don’t think this comparison is true but let’s wait till the device is out. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be launched globally on the 5th of April in Lagos, Nigeria.
Over to you guys,
What do you all think about these results? Do you think the upcoming Camon X camera is better than the IPhone X?

A statement released by his media aide, Ali Ibrahim has revealed that the Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun state, Adbulrasheed Akanbi, has denied saying he wants to henceforth be addressed as the ”Emir of Yorubaland”.
In the statement, the monarch said he did not adopt the title of “Emir of Yorubaland” but that he only told the ”Hausas and ardent Muslims” in his community to also address him as Emir and that he sees nothing in answering to the title of Emir whenever they chose to call him that.
The statement in part reads
“Oluwo has never adopted the Emir title; he only said he could also be called an Emir by the Hausas and ardent Muslims. Oba Akanbi is an Oba for the nation, with special attachment to the Yorubas.
He promotes Yoruba culture to the admiration of many youths. Just because of Oluwo dress code today, many children are attracted to Yoruba culture of wearing aso ofi.
I said so (reference to being an emir) to integrate Nigeria nation as an indivisible entity. All working tools are available for the integration and unity of our dear country. I’ve visited the north several times. Core Hausa hardly pronounce Yoruba words correctly.
They call me emir when I am with them. Is there anything wrong in answering to such? Even, the Hausa in Iwo here call me emir. Will I stop them from addressing me as such?” the monarch’s statement read
The monarch has received a lot of backlash since reports surfaced online that he wanted to be addressed as the Emir of Yorubaland. Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, went as far as causing the day the monarch was born when he read the report of the controversial title.

@Miskrisa_: A well known firm like @DeloitteSA filled with qualified auditors failed to simply add voting results to ensure that they amount 100%. If the show is faking the results then Deloitte should distance themselves, they are damaging their reputation. This show favours Cece, scripted.
@Temitii : This is madness sha, scrambling to cover your rigging, enjoy your scripted show and while at It, announce your winner next week, stop giving people false hope when it has been a script all along.
@Yink1234 : But computer counted the result at first. I laugh at d stupidity of the organizer. @Ebuka computer don dey make mistake now abi. @DeloitteSA shame on you. @PayPorte.
Muhd_Maryam: This useless people, wait and see you are not going to get more money from us Nigerians, because this shows how you are rigging the votes . nonsense!
Empress_janjan: The thunder that will strike all of you behind this handle. I’m totally here for that O Gun thunder. Rubbish #bbnaija.
@ariyike: I am Nina’s fan but this is arrant nonsense, mistakes on percentage & Ebuka will still ask confirmation question about the result, Smh!this is disastrous. you have proven 2 us that watching your show is like giving scholarship to a goat.
@Divaanabel: You guys are scammers. Because we raised alarm about the 98.56% you are saying Nina got 45.44% liars.
@Temiflex01: There must be a mistake, when you’re busy focusing on how to manipulate cee- c votes to stay in the house because she is related to you. Just wasting my time and resources on this fraud show
Veteran actor, producer, director and founder of the Mount Zion Drama Ministry – Mike Bamiloye, has written on facebook questioning the attitude of some church instrumentalists during church activities.
He asserted that most of them do not see the reason for them to redidicate their lives to Jesus as they rarely come out for ALTAR calls .
Here’s what he wrote below ;
I HAVE A SERIOUS CONCERN
The Church Instrumentalists.
Those Young Men and Boys that play Musical instruments in the Church.
I don’t Understand Many of Them.
I come Across them everywhere I have gone.
As if their Attitudes have been Universally Agreed upon.
You will be Preaching, They will be
Fiddling with Guitar Strings.
You will be Teaching, many of them will be Sleeping or browsing.
Messages of great importance will be blaring out to the Congregation,
They will be using their Keyboard to Confirm what the Preachers are saying.
When Everyone is in sober reflections on the vital message, they will be playing Nollywood mood music.
AND THE ALTAR CALL IS MADE AND PEOPLE ARE COMING OUT FOR SALVATION OR REDEDICATION OF LIFE,
THEY WILL BEGIN TO PLAY:
“I surrender All…”
TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO THE ALTAR.
BUT THEY MOST OF THE TIME DONT SEE THE REASON FOR THEM
TO REDEDICATE THEIR LIVES TO JESUS.
AND THEY RARELY COME OUT FOR ALTAR CALLS.
I am Sorry, Maybe it is Only me that has observed this.
Yesterday, we saw lovers, BamBam and Teddy A get evicted from the Big Brother Naija game.. and it’s been met with mixed reactions.
In the usual fashion, the voting results were released, and we saw Nina take the lead with 44.00%, While Cee-C came second with 24.38% of votes, Teddy A followed with 16.81% of votes, and BamBam the least with 13.37% of votes.
Immediately, viewers called on its organizers and pointed out a lag in the voting results. The total percentage of votes were calculated and it gave a total of 98.56% of votes, as against the usual 100%.
The orgazniers upon seeing this “lag”, immediately took to their social media to apologize of the error, and revealed Nina’s vote was a total of 45.44%.
They wrote: “Dear viewers, An incorrect percentage was published for Nina during tonight’s Eviction show. While we deeply regret this error, we wish to state that the audited and verified percentage for Nina is 45.44% as opposed to 44%. We thank you for your usual support & understanding.”
