NDLEA Warns Parents Of New Trend: Illicit Drugs Packaged In Fanciful Bottles In Lagos State

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a warning to Nigerian parents regarding a concerning new trend in drug packaging.

The agency’s spokesperson, Babafemi, took to social media to alert parents about the use of small, attractive bottles to package illicit drugs, particularly in the Lekki, Ikoyi, and Victoria Island (VI) areas of Lagos.

In a post on his social media handle, Babafemi shared a photo of the bottle and urged parents to be vigilant.

He emphasized the importance of checking their children’s bags and pockets for these distinctive bottles.

The drugs being packaged in these bottles are known as “Loud” or “Colos,” and each bottle reportedly sells for ₦15,000.

The NDLEA has already taken action by making arrests and seizures related to this new trend of packaging.

By alerting parents and the public, the agency aims to curb the spread of these illicit substances and protect the youth from falling prey to their dangerous effects.

The use of fancy packaging is a cause for concern as it may attract young people who are enticed by the appearance of the bottles.

The NDLEA’s warning serves as a reminder to parents to stay vigilant, engage in open communication with their children, and monitor their activities.

“If I am going to d!e, let me d!e a fine boy” – Falz narrates how he and his friends were robbed and almost k!lled on a highway in Abuja (Video)

Nigeria rapper and songwriter Folarin Falana known professionally as Falz has narrated his near death experience during an interview on ‘Untapped’.

The incident, which happened on November 16, 2013, on a highway in Abuja, involved him and two of his friends and claimed the life of their driver.

Recounting the incident, the rapper and his friends said they thought that were going to lose their lives as well and began to say their last prayers.

The incident occurred while they were on their way to a wedding in Abuja where Falz was paid to perform.

According to them, it was a Northern wedding and a big gig, where the client paid a sum of one million for Falz to perform at the wedding.

They were supposed to go by air but did not book their tickets on time, so a friend of his, Sule, advised that they go by road instead, which they did.

One of his friends, however, had shown disapproval of them traveling by road but erased the thoughts because they were traveling in broad daylight and asked the rapper to pray before they proceeded.

While on the move, he and his friends slept off after having a conversation with the driver regarding the way he drove, which the driver promised to adjust.

They were woken to a loud bang and a man standing in the middle of the road with a gun in his hands; apparently, he had shot at their car three times, with the third round hitting their driver in the eye.

Describing the situation, Falz said

“We see this turban tying, AK47 welding, dangerous looking men in the middle of the expressway maybe like 5, we could not count they were directly shooting at our car everything was happening within seconds, so fast from the first bullet coming to us waking up, the second bullet coming to us taking cover to the third one that hit the driver in the eye.”

The rapper and his friends further described the injuries inflicted on them during the incident while showing the scars they sustained.

“Don’t marry a man you are not in love with” – Angela Okorie

Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie, hasΒ emphasized that it’s not a wise decision for a woman to agree to marry a man she does not love.

Angela made this assertion in a podcast episode with colleague, Iyabo Ojo, while disclosing that it is one of the major reasons a lot of women cheat on their partners.

The 48-year-old mother of one said she dumped her husband, Chukwuma Orizu because she fell out of love.

The actress said that she became weary of her marriage as a result of pressure from her husband’s family, who incessantly urged her to give up acting.

She said,

β€œI won’t advise anybody to be in a marriage when you’re not in love with the man. I think that’s the reason a lot of women cheat. In this Lekki, you have too many women who cheat in their marriages.

For me, I fell out of love. The man [my ex-husband] was a good man. I fell out of love because of what his family was doing. The family didn’t want me to continue acting. They didn’t want me to do anything acting. They were like, β€˜If we are going to marry you, you’ll stop doing entertainment.’ And I will be like, β€˜Even my mum can’t even stop me. That is my life. Do you know how many years it took me?’

He [my ex-husband] was in support of me. He doesn’t even stress me but because of the whole saga, it was like I was in a place where the people didn’t even understand my vision. They don’t understand what I’m chasing.

You need to chase it with me. This is what your wife wants. You can’t kill my dream. This is what I’ve worked for so many years to get here. So, you can’t just wake up and say, β€œBecause you want to marry me, give up on my dreams.”

“I will not wash my husband’s dirty clothes” – Nigerian woman sparks controversy with firm stance on money and chores in marriage

Nigerian woman sparks

A Nigerian woman named Mildred has stirred up a heated debate on Facebook after expressing her strong views on not giving her hard-earned money to her husband or performing traditional household chores for him.

The mother of three defended her stance, claiming that she had never cooked or washed her husband’s clothes even before they got married in 2008.

Her comments have drawn criticism from many, but she stood her ground, arguing that numerous women have taken on the role of the family’s breadwinner and resorted to wrong meansΒ  like “ashewo work” within their husbands’ homes to prove their worth as dutiful wives.

In her Facebook post, she boldly declared that while she might share business ideas with her husband and assist him if his business fails, she would not hand over her money to him.

She encouraged him to seek bank loans, as she had the authority to grant loans herself. She expressed her concern that merging finances could lead to unnecessary strain on their relationship

Furthermore, she emphasized her refusal to perform traditional household chores, stating that she would not subject herself to mental, psychological, or emotional stress for any man.

She highlighted the use of dry cleaning services and suggested that her husband take responsibility for washing and ironing his own clothes.

Her controversial statements have sparked discussions among social media users alike.

Comparing Budget Smartphones: Infinix SMART 8 vs. Samsung A04e & Redmi Series

Infinix SMART 8 vs. Samsung A04e

Smartphones have become an essential tool for everyday life, offering a wide range of features and capabilities at various price points. For those on a budget, it’s crucial to find a device that provides the best value for money without compromising on essential features. The Infinix SMART 8 emerges as a clear leader, especially when compared to its contemporaries like the Samsung A04e, Redmi 10A, Redmi A2+, and Realme C30s. Let’s delve into why the Infinix SMART 8 is your go-to choice for a budget-friendly smartphone, breaking down key aspects like display, camera, memory, charging capabilities, and more.

Infinix SMART 8 vs. Samsung A04e

DESIGN AND DISPLAY
All these models boast a similar design language with glass fronts and plastic backs, except for the Realme C30s which features a plastic frame. The Infinix SMART 8 sports an impressive 6.6-inch IPS LCD display, boasting a 90Hz refresh rate– a rarity in this price range- and a peak brightness of 500 nits. This makes it superior to its competitors, which either have standard IPS LCD displays or the PLS LCD in the case of Samsung A04e.. The larger screen size and higher refresh rate ensure a more immersive and fluid viewing experience, whether you’re browsing the web or watching videos.

FRONT CAMERA
The Infinix SMART 8 takes the lead in this category with its 8 MP selfie camera, which is higher than the 5 MP offered by the other models. A higher megapixel count in the selfie camera usually translates to better image quality, especially in terms of detail and clarity.

With a 13 MP main and an 8 MP front camera, it’s set to offer a balance of quality and functionality. While its rivals share a similar rear camera configuration, none seem to offer the same selfie prowess as the Infinix SMART 8.

PERFORMANCE
Under the hood, the Infinix SMART 8 is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset which is a step up from the MediaTek chipsets and configurations in its competitors. Paired with an octa-core CPU and the Mali-G57 MP1 GPU, it is well-equipped to handle everyday tasks and light gaming without a hitch. This setup is expected to deliver a performance that’s both smooth and efficient, outpacing the Helio P35 of the Samsung and the G25 of the Redmi 10A. Even the Realme C30s, with its T612 chipset, might struggle to keep up.

MEMORY AND STORAGE
In terms of memory, the Infinix SMART 8 offers various configurations, including 64GB/3GB, 64GB/4GB, and 128GB/4GB options. This flexibility in memory and storage choices gives it an edge over others like the Redmi A2+ and Realme C30s, whose memory configurations cap at 64GB.

BATTERY AND CHARGING
All models in this comparison pack a substantial 5000 mAh battery However, the Infinix SMART 8 stands out with its 10W Type-C charging, offering a more modern and universally compatible charging solution compared to the Micro USB charging of its counterparts. This future-proofs the device to some extent and provides a more convenient charging experience. And also promises faster charging.

OPERATING SYSTEM/ SOFTWARE
Operating on the latest Android 13, the SMART 8 offers a fresh and updated user interface. This gives it a leg up over the Samsung AO4E and the Redmis, which are still on older Android versions, making the SMART 8 a more future-proof choice.

PRICING
Infinix SMART 8: Priced between ₦81,400 and ₦97,900, it represents an unbeatable combination of quality and affordability.

Samsung A04e: At ₦121,800, it is significantly more expensive, diminishing its value-for-money proposition.

Redmi 10A: With a price tag of ₦107,000, it struggles to justify its cost over the SMART 8.

Redmi A2+: Costing ₦99,000, it’s priced closely to the SMART 8’s upper range but falls short in offering additional value.

Realme C30s: Ranges from ₦71,500 to ₦128,000, making it potentially the most expensive and the least consistent in pricing.

CONCLUSION

The Infinix SMART 8 stands out in the budget smartphone segment, offering superior display, chipset, quality, camera performance, and modern charging capabilities. Its balance of features and price makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a smartphone that delivers both quality and value. While the Samsung A04e, Redmi 10A, Redmi A2+, and Realme C30s have their merits, they are overshadowed by the SMART 8’s exceptional value proposition. The Infinix SMART 8 isn’t just a smart choice; it’s the best budget-friendly smartphone to buy before the year runs out.

Man who predicted Queen Elizabeth’s dǝath predicts wave of natural disasters to begin by the end of 2023

Man who predicted

Self-proclaimed psychic, Athos Salome, also known as the “Living Nostradamus,” has predicted a wave of catastrophic floods and earthquakes worldwide.

Salome, recognized for accurate predictions, notably forecasted the death of Queen Elizabeth II and Elon Musk renaming Twitter to “X.”

In his latest prediction, the fortune teller cautioned about impending floods and earthquakes in the coming months, specifying the exact locations of these disasters.

While highlighting potential volcanic and seismic activities in the Pacific Ring of Fire, particularly in Java, Indonesia, and the coastal stretch from northern California to southern British Columbia, he emphasized the need to avoid spreading panic.

Man who predicted

Athos foresees increased hurricane and cyclone intensity in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines and Thailand. He mentioned high-risk storm areas like the Gulf of Mexico and Florida, urging adequate preparation.

Despite forecasting global death and damage, Athos believes that proactive measures can still be taken to mitigate the impact.

β€œI don’t intend to instill fear in society. I hopes that the negative events predicted will not come true. My warnings are to actually serve as motivation for us to come together and prioritize our well being. I also need to emphasize the importance of implementing policies, building infrastructure and importantly increasing awareness, on a global level and believe that with governance and citizen cooperation, we can avoid these challenges altogether.” he said

“Denying Saint Obi his kids eventually took his life” – OAP Dotun reveals as he berates people who prevent their kids from seeing their dad or mum

OAP Dotun reveals

Nigerian media personality, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, better known as Dotun, has heavily criticized vengeful people who prevent their kids from relating with their father or mother after a divorce.

In a series of tweets shared on Twitter, Dotun expressed his displeasure with such people for weaponizing their kids and using them to fight their exes.

His outburst comes a month after he called out his ex-wife for denying him access to their daughters and demanded access to them.

OAP Dotun reveals

He also revealed that he recently spoke with a family member of the late actor, Saint Obi, who revealed that the actor was denied access to his children, and fighting to see them eventually led to his death.

Recall that Saint Obi passed away at the age of 57 on Sunday, May 7, 2023, after a protracted illness. However, his friend, filmmaker Zeb Ejiro later came out to reveal how the harrowing pains he went through in his marriage led to his death.

OAP Dotun reveals

Read his posts below…

“I spoke to a family member of Saint Obi. He passed away in their house in Jos & you have absolutely no idea what that man went through. Denying him his kids & fighting eventually took his life. You believe you are winning a fight by weaponizing kids? am sorry;
YOU ARE A LOSER!

Hello men and women, children are not properties. Kids are your responsibilities not your tools. They are not your bargaining chips. They also have the right to choose. You were hurt but that’s you and the person that hurt you. If they are a pawn In your fight then you are EVIL!

Let’s normalize the fact that kids are not objects. Kids have rights. When a child demands the right to see a parent or be with them and you deny them. You have trampled on their rights. Listen! A child is not a material meant for one person to keep. It’s commonsense

It takes alot for a man to come out and speak and I mean alot. Respect that Fact first before you speak. Do you know how many things he had tried before it gets here? Do you know? It’s cos most women know men won’t or might not speak is why they do these things.”

“Don’t marry a man living in a family house. You will never enjoy the marriage” – Nigerian gospel singer warns women

Nigerian gospel singer warns

A Nigerian gospel singer, Tina Johnson, has issued a note of warning to women, advising them not to marry a man still living in his family house.

In a post shared on Facebook, Tina warned that any woman who marries such a man will never enjoy the marriage to the fullest, as she will eventually receive insults from her husband’s family.

She added that a man who can’t rent an apartment for himself and his wife shouldn’t be getting married in the first place, questioning how he would cater to their household.

Nigerian gospel singer warns

Read her full post below,

“My Sister, don’t marry a Man Living in a Family House, you will never enjoy that Marriage. I may sound Stupid and senseless but believe me the day you’re married into a family house you’ll remember this post. Even flies in the house will abuse you including your in-laws.

Until you find yourself in this situation you may not understand this post. Sister, if he doesn’t have any money to rent at least one room apartment, then you guys have no business getting married

How will you guys now cope with family expenses? Don’t be deceived, marriage needs money.

The day your husband married you into family house, both of you have lost RESPECT and dignity in that family.

Even if it’s a room it will be much more better than living in a family house, for peace to reign.

If a man still lives in his parents house, tell him to get an apartment before paying your BRIDE PRICE. Statistics shows that, the wives end up unhappy, caged and frustrated.

No matter how good your in-laws are, pray you don’t have any reason to live with them. They will show you shege. It’s a matter of TIME. Just give them TIME. Visit them, let them visit you.

I repeat, Please don’t marry a man living in a family house, you will never enjoy that marriage to its fullest.”

“Why I hid my celebrity mother’s identity for years” – Mayorkun

Nigerian superstar singer Mayorkun has revealed the reasons for his long-standing decision to keep his mother’s identity a secretβ€”popular actress Toyin Adewale.

Mayorkun revealed this in an interview with actor and podcaster Taymesan and added that he never disclosed his mother’s fame as a movie actress toΒ other students while at the university.

He recounted a time that his mother visited him in school with food and someone recognised her, so in order to avoid a scene, he quickly rushed to her.

He said;

β€œGrowing up, my brother and I didn’t like the fact that our mom was a popular actress because we wanted freedom, but with her fame came fake attention and all.

I hated being treated differently, not because you like me but because I am Toyin Adewale’s son. Even in my university, people didn’t know she was my mother for four years. I was intentional about this.

My mum brought food to me at school once, and a girl saw her. I quickly ran to her to get what she came with just so no one else saw her.”

A Nigerian lady has informed others of the benefits of having a second wife and the reasons why it’s a good idea for men to contemplate doing so in a marriage.

Florence Chinyere Ogolo, a Facebook user, commented on a post about a man who was considering marrying a second wife soon after his first wife gave birth.

As she mentioned the decreasing harmony in the home, the woman said that women are frequently the reason for a man’s choice to take a new wife.

She went on to say that some men have an irrational preference for polygamy and that this preference is influenced by women’s changing physical appearance.

She wrote;

β€œAm not married yet But second wife are the best. For your husband to sought for a second wife that means u are a pain on his neck. Either feeling that u have arrived after giving him a son, or you no longer respect or give him peace. Something is really wrong about Or wat he ordered is no longer wat he got. And above all, there are men who love two wives so We cant erase that.”

Mr Ibu's wife feeding

A video of Stella Maris, the wife of ailing Nollywood actor John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, feeding him on his hospital bed has been shared on social media.

Jasmine had accused Stella of wanting to use the money to buy an iPhone 15 and undergo a BBL procedure to enhance her backside. Stella has, however, since come out to debunk the allegation and accused Jasmine of planning to elope with Mr Ibu’s son.

“We have found a scapegoat” – Actor Sam Ajibola files lawsuit against TikToker over derogatory post about his family and Obasanjo

Sam Ajibola files

Nigerian actor Sam Ajibola, better known as Spiff in ‘The Johnsons,’ has filed a lawsuit against TikToker Gossipbobo and blogger Tunde Ednut for making a derogatory post about his wife, son, and former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

Gossipbobo, whose real name is Ifeanyi Aniekwe, posted a video featuring a photo of Spiff, his wife, and son with the former president alongside a suggestive caption that seemed to question the paternity of Spiff’s son.

“Obasanjo and his Secretary’s baby boy,” Ifeanyi wrote.

See below,

After sharing the post, blogger Tunde Ednut reposted it on his Instagram page, and it received a ton of derogatory comments from internet users.

This didn’t sit well with Sam and his family, and they have now initiated legal proceedings against Gossipbobo and Tunde Ednut.

Sam said he was really hurt by the narrative, as this is not the first time people are peddling defamatory allegations against his family.

 Sam Ajibola files

He recounted how netizens claimed his wife was older than him at the time of their marriage, and accused her of being controlling and asking him to quit his role in ‘The Johnsons.’

He added that they have now found a scapegoat that would serve as a deterrent to others. He stated that a national security advisor, a Magistrate of the Supreme Court, and his wife’s legal advisor are on top of the matter.

He shared photos of the legal document where he demanded the sum of N10 million and a public apology from the TikToker.

He wrote,

“Trouble dey sleep, Yanga go wake am.

Wetin him dey find? Palava him dey find.

Cat dey sleep, rat go bite his tail.

Wetin him dey find? Na Palava him go get.. So contrary to many opinions as to why I haven’t come out to clear the air on the defamation of my wife’s character on this issue, you will all please bear with me as I needed some real good time to properly analyze all aspects of it and come up with a best solution to all of these bickering that has been happening since I announced my wife to the world. This harrassment has continued from my engagement news where they began with false allegations that my wife was older than I am and was controlling my decisions like leaving The johnsons, to blatant lies that she was called my class captain, and now for over a year these trolls have further bear false witness to the point where they question my wife’s unquestionable fidelity to me, and ultimately bullying my innocent son who they have planned to grow and meet these false allegations.

This is the very reason why a lot of famous and prestigious people crave for private lives. It is because lately, quite a number of young people on social media (as we have observed from the comments and all) are mostly dysfunctional and insensitive youths with the confidence in their false witness when they display their disrespect for others in societies where there is a huge lacuna of societal leadership.

This clearly as in this case of @gossipbobo , whom in sharing his misinformed opinion about our lives in public to the detriment of their mental health, relates to the almost impossible art of most Nigerians who can easily die from not “minding their own business”.

Honestly, I’m hurt and for the sake of being a proper boy from the streets of surulere, I know how to find justice there but for the sake of my emotional maturity, I have found more decent and honourable ways to handle this lingering issue, from the various powers I know in the Judicial/security sector. As we speak a national security advisor, a Magistrate of the supreme court and my wife’s legal advisor are on top of the matter. Thankfully, we have found a few scapegoats to use in warning others to stay away.”

Nigerian prophet trends after controversial encounter with late goalkeeper George Chigova, telling him to ignore his heart condition before his death (VIDEO)

Nigerian Prophet David Uche has sparked a discourse online following his encounter with the late SuperSport United goalkeeper, George Chigova, who was recently confirmed deceased.

Chigova, the former Zimbabwe Warriors goalminder, passed away in his sleep at his Johannesburg residence on November 15, 2023.

Chigova had been sidelined from football since collapsing during a training session with SuperSport United in July.

According to reports, he woke up on Wednesday, briefly moved about his house, and returned to sleep.

When his wife attempted to wake him after an extended slumber, he remained unresponsive, and paramedics later declared him dead.

Prophet David Uche came into the spotlight due to his interaction with Chigova prior to his passing.

During a church service in Johannesburg, Uche allegedly informed Chigova that there was nothing wrong with his heart, suggesting that his diagnosis was merely an attempt to hinder his chances of securing a new football contract.

Chigova shared with Uche that his contract extension at SuperSport United was being delayed due to the discovery of a weak and irregular heart.

However, Uche dismissed the medical diagnosis, attributing it to external factors aimed at impeding Chigova’s career progression.

The encounter between the late goalkeeper and the Nigerian cleric has generated significant attention and debate, with many blaming the pastor for the Late SuperSport United goalkeeper death.
