A woman, Oluchukwu Nwosu, has been arrested for purportedly selling her three-month-old grandchild in Anambra State for N50,000.

According to a press statement released on Sunday, October 22, 2023, by Chidinma Ikeanyionwu, the media assistant to state Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, the infant was saved when his mother, Ijeoma Nwosu, made a report.

Ijeoma claims that her mother sold her child forcibly shortly after he was born and has since refused to tell her where he is.

The statement read,

“Ify Obinabo, the commissioner for Women and Social Welfare in Anambra State, has rescued a three-month-old baby who had been sold by the grandmother.

The rescue occurred in response to a report by Ijeoma Nwosu, who claimed that Oluchukwu Nwosu, her mother, forcefully sold her baby soon after he was born and has since refused to tell her where he is.

Following receipt of the allegation, the Women and Social Welfare Commissioner immediately took action to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

After almost a month of consistent intelligence surveillance by the State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare Awka, the offenders were caught.

Speaking just moments after saving the three-month-old child, Hon. Obinabo bemoaned the fact that despite the state government’s efforts to put an end to all forms of illegal adoption, some people continue to practice the crime, undermining those efforts.

Hon. Obinabo thus issued a warning that anyone found participating in an unlawful adoption must face legal action.

This is the third time Oluchukwu Nwosu’s daughter Ijeoma has conceived outside of marriage, and according to her daughter, Oluchukwu Nwosu sold out the three-month-old baby while sobbing and pleading for forgiveness.

She said she sold the baby for 50,000 thousand naira, noting that her two older sons are already being cared for by the state community children’s home in Awka.

Mrs. Nwosu claimed that due to their low income and lack of childcare, they have had trouble feeding themselves from the time her daughter gave birth to the present.

Mrs. Nwosu described how she came across a buyer as being approached by one Tochukwu Asiegbu, who after some haggling paid her the agreed upon sum

Tochukwu Asiegbu claimed that because he gave Oluchukwu Nwosu everything that was provided, he only got a profit of 30,000 naira from the deal

Sadly, such wasn’t the case with the buyer, Evelyn Egwuatu, a native of Uruagu Nnewi, who reported that she paid one Ebelechukwu Uba from Ebonyi but a resident of Anambra the sum of 200,000 thousand naira to obtain the child for her

Ebelechukwu Uba claims that Tochukwu Asiegbu and Ijeoma Nwosu’s mother, Oluchukwu Nwosu, and not Ijeoma Nwosu herself, made the decision to deliver the child to Evelyn Egwuatu

They all agreed that the incident occurred about three months ago, but to everyone’s greatest surprise, the baby is sick and underweight because he was fed soya bean powder instead of the proper baby food because, according to the buyer, she didn’t have the money to buy the baby food he needed.

All of the perpetrators of this act have been found and given to the police for additional questioning and investigation as of the time of this report.”

Nigerian singer, Cynthia Morgan has in a rather absurd development demanded a DNA test from her father to prove that he is her biological father.

Taking to her Instagram page, she claimed that he constantly demands to be taken care of by her, even though she is the fifth of his nine children.

She described him as a fraud and said she thinks it’s fraudulent of him to demand for financial favors before offering to pray for her. She emphasized that she doesn’t owe him anything, not even a WAEC certificate.

Cynthia Morgan went on to accuse her father of spreading falsehoods about her to their relatives and revealed his intention to make disparaging statements about her on blogs.

She stated that she chose to speak up first to prevent him from twisting the narrative and added that she wants a DNA test to confirm their biological relationship.

She wrote on her Instastories,

“My supposed father’s favorite phrase is “you have to take care of your fatter o”, you have to take care of your father o”. So He can always pray for you. Bro, I don’t have and btw I don’t even owe you a WAEC certificate. And if my money is equal to your prayers then you’re a fraudulent father. I always knew the part of him being a fraud though. Reason I am finally asking for a DNA.

Principal of St. Michael’s Catholic High School, Akure, Ondo State, Adeniyi Oluyide, who gained popularity for appearing as a student to greet recently admitted wards, has disclosed the purpose of his attire.

He explained in an interview that it has been a tradition of the school, but it just so happened that this year’s was the fortunate one to be recorded on video and posted online.

Oluyide stated that pupils were inspired to dress well and behave appropriately by wearing their school uniforms.

The principal said;

“It has been a tradition of the school and we have been following that tradition for the past three years. The one for this year is the one in that video trending on the Internet. Immediately after we conclude the admission process, we usually have an orientation, which is a one-week programme for newly admitted JSS1 pupils.

They come from different homes, and they are graduating to another level of education, so we organised a programme for them. We wanted to make them know the rules and regulations of the school, and how to behave, and for the grand finale, the principal identifies with the pupils to tell them that there was a time when their principal was once like them, and because their principal worked very hard, he became what he is today.

On that day, seeing me in the school uniform was an inspiration to them, that they must dress properly. During that programme, the pupils were full of joy. Each one of them wanted to touch me, and I didn’t chase them away because that was my joy. We later prayed for them. Since we started doing that, the pupils have been performing excellently in their academic work. In the school, we don’t condone any examination malpractice.”

Apparently, the woman walked into her mother breastfeeding her few weeks old baby when she arrived from a quick errand.

The lady, who had no issue with her mother’s action, decided to film the moment and post it on the internet.

Nigerian woman found decomposed in her US home over a week after she d!ed and no one knew

A tragic incident involving a Nigerian woman in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, has gotten people talking online about the downside of relocating abroad alone.

The woman, identified as Uju Onyeyili, reportedly passed away in her apartment, but no one was aware of it until neighbors raised an alarm due to a foul smell emanating from her home.

It was gathered that the deceased, originally from Abatete in Anambra, had an accident two weeks prior and left her car at the scene before returning home.

Regrettably, she passed away in her house, and her death went unnoticed for over a week as her body began to decompose.

Concerned neighbors alerted the police about the odor coming from her apartment. They also reported that they hadn’t seen her in a week and that her car, involved in the accident, needed to be towed.

The police launched an immediate investigation and found her decomposing body inside her home.

Unfortunately, none of her close relatives could be contacted to claim her remains. Her photo was then shared online, appealing to her family members to come and retrieve her body; otherwise, it would be disposed of by the state.

Onyeyili, a devoted member of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (Olumba Olumba Olumba), was eventually laid to rest by the sect in the US.

Fuel scarcity grips Abuja as petrol prices Soar to N630/Litre

Fuel scarcity has hit Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, with petrol pump prices skyrocketing to a staggering N630 per litre.

Many filling stations have been forced to shut down due to the scarcity, leaving motorists and residents in a state of panic, according to a report by the Nigerian Tribune.

The scarcity crisis has been attributed to the challenges faced by marketers in importing petroleum products.

The lack of foreign exchange and difficulties in accessing supplies from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) have worsened the situation, leading to the current fuel shortage.

Chief Chinedu Ukadike, the spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), acknowledged the government’s decision to maintain the current price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) amidst the crises affecting the sector.

However, he cautioned that if the scarcity persists, petrol prices may escalate to as high as N900 to N1,000 per litre, which would undoubtedly have dire consequences for Nigerians.

As the fuel scarcity crisis continues to unfold, authorities are urged to take immediate action to alleviate the burden on the Nigerian people and ensure a steady and affordable supply of petroleum products.

Banker arrested for alleged theft of N14.8m from customer’s account

In a stunning development, a Banker has been apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly stealing a large sum of N14.8 million from a customer’s account.

The suspect, identified as Awulu Friday Ayegba, worked as a relationship manager at a prominent new generation bank.

According to the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, Ayegba conducted fraudulent transactions between June 7 and July 21, 2023, during which he illicitly withdrew the aforementioned amount from a customer’s account.

Investigations revealed that Ayegba employed deceitful tactics by assuming the identities of two individuals, Henry Olowo and Terseer Shibiam.

Using forged passport photographs, fake national identification numbers, and manipulated phone numbers, he opened bank accounts under the names of two unregistered companies: Sulib Complex & Investments and Seamless & More Global.

The EFCC also uncovered another alarming detail. Ayegba, in his fraudulent activities, forged documents belonging to Nduka Obinna to apply for a loan facility amounting to a staggering N40 million. Disturbingly, his intention was to flee the country with his family.

He disclosed this to the press during the peaceful walk for the third year remembrance of the Endsars movement which took place on Friday, 20th of October 2023.

Recall that some Nigerian citizens took to the street of Lagos ‘Lekki tollgate’ to protest against police brutality and the disbandment of SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) on the 11th of October 2020.

However they could not carry on with the protest because the Nigerian Army arrived at the scene of the protest on the 20th of October 2023 and opened fire on peaceful and unarmed protesters.

Since then every 20th of October citizens of Nigeria gathered at the location of the incidence for a peaceful walk and to pray for the souls that were lost.

Mr Macaroni has now revealed that some protesters have been in police custody since 2020 when the protest took place, adding that lawyers have been on the case but no action has been taking still.

He said that “In as much as we have said that this is a very peaceful walk we want it to remain so, and what I want to do now is to use this opportunity to call for the unconditional release of all those that are still unjustly in prison. Nigerian woman sentenced to dɘath in Iraq seeks urgent government intervention

Sources have revealed that the Iraqi government has sentenced her to death, with the execution slated for November, unless swift action is taken by the Nigerian authorities.

She embarked on a journey to Iraq on May 6, 2023, in search of better prospects, only to find herself disillusioned in the Middle-Eastern nation.

Netizens have left their jaws wide open after a x (twitter) user shared with them the messages she received from a woman she helped.

The tweep who identified as @Madam_Ufuoma mentioned that she has been helping the woman and her kids since 2020 after she escaped from her abusive baby daddy.

She also mentioned that she informed the woman to reach out to her on a private number anytime she was in need or needed help.

The user further disclosed that now she regrets her action as the woman has now reunited with her baby daddy. She went on to say that the lady she helped told her she was on her own when the tweep offered to help her and she wonders if the tweep was jealous of her marriage.

Sharing the screenshots of their chat she attached this caption,

“I started helping this woman in 2020. A single mom with a toddler who escaped her abusive baby daddy, she is one of the few people I gave my private number in case of emergency for her to be able to reach me easily when others can’t. Now, I really really regret it. This is one of the reasons I washed my hands off DVV, Many of them will embarrass you and it’s always because of a man that cannot even provide for them. I stopped sending her allowance after she reconciled with her baby daddy whom she calls her husband, little did I know that she assured the infidel that she got monthly extra allowance. During a recent interview on Pulse One-on-One with Pere, the chef discussed a tactic she used on the show that was a complete failure.

Uriel pointed at how she attempted to win Pere over with food in order to avoid being put forward for eviction, having previously declared her desire to become pregnant with him in the future.

As Uriel shared the plan, Pere laughed it off without saying anything.

Popular Ekiti chef, Damilola Adeparusi, better known as Chef Dammy, has urged people to hold her pastor accountable if something were to happen to her.

In June 2023, the Ekiti Chef became popular after taking part in a “cook-a-thon” hosted by the pastor of her church, Adegoke Jeremiah, also known as Billion Dollar Prophet.

Dammy has now expressed concern over a possible danger to her life.

She said that ever since her cook-a-thon endeavour, she has been living in continual terror for her life. She questioned her assailants about whether they would not stop coming for her till she stopped breathing, pointing out that it had been four months since then.

She wrote:

“‘By the time we are done with you,you will not be able to stand on your feet again’.
This was from the acclaimed ‘people of God’. Among many of the countless insults, curses, threats and bullying.
Now, I understand the content of 1 Peter 4:17, Surely judgment will begin from the house of God.
The first time the man of God tried to challenge my God he failed, then he told me to prepare for war.
But these are the people of God. Are they not supposed to be Godly?
Assuming I had died few days ago; people would’ve understood better what I’ve been facing, by the testimony of those around me.
But I’ll still try and bind my piece because it is a testimony that others can learn from.
I know about gods that is why I chose the undefeatable God. Surely they shall gather,
but they that be with me are more than they that be with them.
I’ve been in constant fear for my life. Countless times they’ve tried to destroy me as promised, but with God I keep moving as if nothing ever happened.
Shouldn’t we have gotten over this?
I mean it’s 4 months already, guess you will not stop until I stop breathing?

She named her pastor as the individual threatening her life in a follow-up post.
