Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumugobia was granted bail on Saturday evening after detectives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) searched her home in Lagos.
When the agents were done with their search, the Federal High Court judge was weeping like a baby. The EFCC found several documents showing the judge had bought homes abroad and also recently, on Park Avenue in Ikoyi, this is according to a report by Sahara Reporters.
The most damning document shows that the judge, who once freed former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode on a technicality over corruption charges, had wired at least $900,000 to foreign banks between 2014-2016.
She could not explain the source of the funds to investigators, who asked her to return to their offices on Monday. Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia turned herself in to the EFCC on Thursday after she was traced to a hospital in Lagos where she had claimed she was admitted.
As soon as the detectives found out her admission was fake, they arrested the medical director of the hospital, which led the judge to surrender. Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia is one of the 8 judges currently under investigation by the EFCC for various corruption issues.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have debunked the claims by Fani-Kayode’s media aide, Jude Ndukwe, that the former Spokesperson to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode slumped yesterday at their premises.
However in a quick rebuttal, the EFCC dismissed Ndukwe’s claims, saying there was no truth whatsoever to them. EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren said:
“There is no truth whatsoever in the dubious and attention-seeking alarm that Fani-Kayode slumped and was revived by EFCC medical personnel. There was nothing like that as the said Fani-Kayode and Obanikoro sat together and enjoyed their jokes at the first round of checks of inmates in EFCC custody on Monday night.”
The Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Department of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, has said that the sale of petrol at N145 per litre is not sustaining due to the current economic recession.
Kyari stated this while speaking at the 10th Oil Trading and Logistics Africa Downstream Week in Lagos.
According to Kyari, the current economic downturn has made it impossible to import petroleum products at the current market price and at the current fixed foreign exchange rate and still make profit as well as recovered the capital invested in importation.
He said despite the harsh realities surrounding importation, government isn’t planning on increasing the pump price of petrol.
“It is impossible for this government to announce tomorrow that petrol is about N150. This government cannot sustain it. That is the truth. The people will not take that number. But that is why the suppliers now are not importing. It is not about the foreign exchange. We are in subsidy regime absolutely, there is no way you bring product today and take it and sell at N145 and get back your money, and make profit. That is not possible. You can see some marketers saying that fuel is N138. It is because they did not import. Somebody has taken the heat of the price”he said

Despite his plea to well-meaning Nigerians to come to his rescue, legendary Nollywood actor, Tunde Alabi, who has been battling an ailment at the Lagos General Hospital, got his leg amputated.
His right leg was reportedly amputated on Thursday.
Recall that the ‘Village Headmaster’ actor, had been battling diabetes for years with no treatment because of lack of money and had been lying critically ill with one of his legs set for amputation in order to save his life.
While Alabi had called on Nigerians to support him, saying he did not want to die, renowned actor and movie director, Paul Julius, among others, had urged well-meaning Nigerians to come to the actor’s aid financially.
According to Yoruba Movie Gist, YMG, doctors advised that the leg be cut off so it won’t affect other parts of his body.

In an official statement released on Monday night by Jude Ndukwe, the Special Assistant to the embattled Femi Fani-Kayode on Media, raised an alarm that the former Minister of Aviation, slumped in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday.
It was reported that the operatives of the EFCC had last Friday re-arrested Fani-Kayode outside the premises of the Federal High Court on Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos after attending his trial over an alleged fraud of N4.9bn before Justice Muslim Hassan.
According to a report by Punch newspaper, Ndukwe in the statement disclosed that his boss who was arrested as soon as he stepped out of the courtroom after the judge had adjourned further proceedings in his trial till November 14 and 15, 2016, had been on medication.
He said, “Although Chief Femi Fani-Kayode had yet to complete the recovery therapy he was undergoing after spending the initial 67 gruelling days in the EFCC custody wherein he was also physically attacked by one of the commission’s agents, in deference to the law and the Commission, he painfully but willingly cut short his therapy and medical checks to attend court proceedings.
“One would have thought that these were enough to convince EFCC that Fani-Kayode was very willing to face his persecutors in court. But rather than be humane in their conduct, the EFCC hounded him for the umpteenth time on that fateful Friday and have since kept him in custody.
“It is, therefore, little wonder that based on the history of his medical condition which the commission is very much aware of, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode slumped while in detention on Saturday, October 22, 2016.”
The Commissioner of Police in charge of Abia State Police Command, Adeleye Oyebade, on Monday paraded a suspected rapist, identified as Emeka Asibiriobwu, who was accused of defiling a two-year-old girl kept under his care.
Oyebade said the suspect was arrested by the officers of the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Umuahia. He said the suspect, who was still being investigated by policemen had raped the girl at Oriendu, a suburb of the state capital.
The Commissioner said, “The suspect was arrested when the mother of the victim raised the alarm on sighting her daughter crying, while blood and fluid were gushing out of her private parts.
“The victim was taken to a hospital where the rape case was established. The suspect has confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court after the conclusion of police investigation.”

From the Bride (Awele) –
The first time I met him was in part One in OAU Architecture. He walked up to me after the year dinner and told me he was going to take me home to his mama, lol! But that was because I had just received the award ‘take home to mama’ at the dinner.
We became friends after with him being a matchmaker a couple of times,*grin!*
By the time we were registering for our masters, it felt different with him, we got closer and practically spent the whole two years as study partners, eating and spending too much time together, friends didn’t believe we were just friends (hahahaha! really who were we kidding?).
After school he moved to lagos (whoop! whoop!) to my surprise as he initially wanted to settle in abj. And we started officially thereafter (come to think of it, I don’t think he waited for my answer to his ‘will you be my girlfriend?’ Smh, I almost chocked on my ice cream and we laughed ourselves to tears)
He got back from the UK early last year and I was very eager to see him; he had been quiet all through his trip and wasn’t calling as often, so I was ready to go read him the riot act as soon as I sighted him, only for him to cut me short.
He wanted to take me back to my place immediately! I hadn’t spent up to 30mins and I was only just about to dish it out, oh I wanted to wipe the smirk off his face all through the drive home.
He not only dropped me, he went in and had a long talk with my mum. The sleuth in me was blinded by confusion, I immediately called.my friend (who already knew what was happening, by the way) she was so sure I was blowing things out of proportion, I was not liking any of it.
He went home without a word and later called to talk to me some days later and insisted I came over, so I went ready. I didn’t see it coming: he saw me, came out to the sitting room, knelt and opened the box and I had to be held as I leapt to the door. I didn’t say yes until I had finished crying, taken ice cream and called my mum and friends!
From the groom (Ademola) –
“It was in the year 2006, crossing from Medical school to the Department of Architecture in the previous year was the toughest decision I had to make and inspite of the hard work and focus my transition required, I noticed a beautiful young lady, gentle as a morning dew, so good looking like a quiet sunset. However, like I said, I had to focus.
In 2007, the moment I had she was crowned “Miss Take-home-to-mama” at an award ceremony the precious night, I walked up to her and teased her; “Hmmmmm…I’m gonna take you home to mama”… (and the angel of goodwill passed).
In 2010, we met again during the course of our registration for Masters in Architecture, where we assisted each other, and that friendship and companionship lasted throughout our entire 2 years of Masters study period.
Fast forward 6 years, she became a great colleague, amazing friend who could sacrifice anything for me, my best friend who kept every secret and never judged, my girlfriend who loved unconditionally and forgave completely in our trying times, my fiancee who my goals and visions, and now my loving wife, which is the greatest gift I could have ever asked of God. I’m yet to come to my consciousness as this still feels like a dream. I’m married to my best friend…what a wonderful feeling!”

A 72-year-old Nigerian woman has become instant internet sensation after a photo of her Facebooking went viral. The digital woman who according to reports, enjoys meeting people on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp could be seen on a chair fiddling with her tablet.

Operatives of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Lagos have arrested a suspected fraudster, Babatunde Oyedepo, popularly known as Baudex on IG, for allegedly attempting to swindle businessman Femi Otedola.
The Nation reports that Oyedepo, 23, was alleged to have sent threat and blackmail messages to the complainants and other high profile Nigerians through a website, naijagistlive.com, demanding huge sums of money.
Oyedepo, a resident of Sixth Avenue in Festac Town, was alleged to have posted a superimposed nude pictures of a lawyer on his website, alleging that she had been sleeping with her boss and other clients.
According to the police, the suspect demanded N3.5million from the lawyer to remove the inappropriate picture from the site, which the victim could not afford.
A police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said
“The victim had allegedly told the suspect that she has no such money in her account and that the picture posted on the website had cost her, her job, her marriage and her social life. The lawyer is among the three different persons who petitioned the suspect.”
Spokesman for SFU, Lawal Audu said the suspect has three different cases pending before the unit, adding that the first two involved fraud and threat to life.
According to Audu, on October 19th, one Dapo Balogun reported a case of extortion, black mail and threat to life against the suspect.
“The complainant claimed that the suspect had posted on naijagistlife a story alleging that he had worked with former Petroleum Minister, Deziani Allison-Maduekwe and that throughout the period he had fraudulently acquired huge sum of money. The complainant also claimed to have received a mail from the suspect, informing him that he should pay an undisclosed amount running into millions to enable him remove the provocative story from the site.
He alleged that since then he had been receiving threat messages from unknown callers demanding huge sum or risk being being kidnapped. The second complainant is Femi Otedola. He claimed that the suspect posted an annoying story on the same website accusing him of sleeping with different girls in his office. The suspect has another fraud case pending at the Federal High court.”
The suspect however denied being responsible for the actions, insisting that he was framed by the owners of the website which he only designed. The school dropout who claimed to be a website designer, said that he was contacted through email to design the website.
He said:
“I design websites for people and after designing the site I will include my contacts in the website to attract other customers. I was arrested through my contact on naijagistlive.com.
A popular Kannywood actor, Adam Zango, has announced he will no longer be acting. He took to instagram where he broke the news saying he will henceforth stick to singing and producing songs. What he wrote in Hausa when translated in English below:

Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade threw a mild jibe at President Muhammadu Buhari in her speech at the 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) held on October 22, 2016.
Alade, who won an award for the Best Female Artiste at the event gave a soft remark of the president’s comments stating that his wife, Aisha belongs in the kitchen.
While receiving her award at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg, she said, “Give it up to all the African women in the building.

Prophet Ade Okeowo of Word of Liberty Evangelical Ministry, Ikorodu, Lagos State, has made interesting prophecies about Nigeria.
The prophet revealed that Nigeria will soon experience a turnaround as prices on commodities will crash in no time, stating that God did not, however, specify that the revelation would come to pass under President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime.
He specifically mentioned that God told him the cost of bag of rice and fuel, will be drastically reduced.
He made this revelation in a chat with Encomium, urging Nigerians to stop casting blames on President Buhari, as he needed time to fix the country.
He said, “That’s what God has revealed to me. Listen to me attentively; I am not speaking my words but God’s.
“Now, people buy rice N25, 000 per bag but God told me that we’re going to buy a bag of rice as cheap as N5, 000. A US dollar will exchange for as low as N150 and fuel will sell for as low as N30 or N40 per litre. That’s what God said will happen in this country.”
Asked if his prophecies will come to pass during Buhari’s administration, the cleric said, “God didn’t tell me that one but He revealed to me all of these and more beautiful things will happen after all the pain, but Buhari’s efforts will lead to that.
“Nigeria will be forced to a stage of break up but God will intervene.”
The Prophet further noted that Buhari is not to blame for the economic woes.
He said, “We should not blame anybody. People should not even hold Buhari responsible at all. From what God has revealed to me, He sent Buhari to Nigerians as an angel.
“God has also revealed to me that Buhari shouldn’t be worried, that everything will soon be alright. God showed me that Nigeria is like a second hand car (Tokunbo). We all know that if you buy a second hand car, it’s surely not in a perfect state. You will be fixing this today, that tomorrow until it’s fully fit. And it’s not something that will be done overnight.
“We all need to understand that if we want the country to move forward. Buhari is the one buying all the spare parts to repair the damaged car called Nigeria. By the time he completes the repair, the vehicle will move and everybody will enjoy it. That’s just the parable of Nigeria’s situation now.
“Everything will soon be alright. There are many Josephs that God is going to use to uplift this country, and Buhari is one of them.”
Recalling the other prophecies of his that have also come to pass in recent times, the Prophet said, “I predicted the Olympic soccer final. I said Germany would defeat Nigeria, it came to pass. I even said it’s going to be 2-0. I said the gold medal was for Brazil, they all came to pass.
