Accountant Allegedly Fakes Own Kidnap After Stealing Company’s $50,000. (Photo)
An accountant with a lubricant producing firm in Ikoyi, Lagos State, Femi Akinola, has been apprehended by the police for allegedly stealing the company’s $50,000.
PUNCH Metro reports that the company – Eterna Plc – had sent 30-year-old Akinola to withdraw the sum from the United Bank for Africa in the Marina area on Thursday, November 17.
On getting back to the office, he reportedly told his boss that he was kidnapped on the way from the bank, saying his abductors dispossessed him of the money and his phones.
However, Akinola was subsequently arrested by the police and police investigation reportedly revealed that he faked his own kidnap.
He was said to have led the operatives to the fence of a primary school in the Bariga area, where $30,000 concealed inside a concrete block was recovered.
While parading the suspect on Friday at the Lagos State Command headquarters in Ikeja, the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said Akinola stripped himself and threw his phones into a river to perfect the ploy.
He said:
“The suspect worked with a multinational company in the state. He was sent to withdraw $50,000. After withdrawing the money, he faked his own kidnap and claimed that the kidnappers collected the money.
“The police have been able to recover $30,000. He confessed to have given out $15,000. We are making efforts to recover the remaining sum.”
However, Akinola, who hails from Ondo State, denied feigning his abduction, saying one Kingsley, who purportedly lives in United Kingdom, colluded with a fraudster to swindle him out of the money.
The father of two children said Kingsley’s accomplice hypnotised him, adding that the man had left before it dawned on him that he had been defrauded.
He said:
“I am also into music. I used to chat with one Kingsley in the UK, who wanted to help me with my music career. I chatted with him that day and I told him that I just withdrew $50,000. He told me he needed $15,000. He sent somebody to meet me around Marina to collect the money. It was after the person collected the money and my phones and left that I came to my senses.
“I was confused and didn’t know what to do. At that point, I decided to hide the remaining $35,000 at the back of a primary school in Bariga, and left for Epe to commit suicide. On getting there, I changed my mind and reported to the police that I was robbed.
The suspect stated that he was known for honesty, which had earned him awards from the company every year.
“I earn over N120,000 per month. I didn’t have intention of using the money to promote my music career. That was not the first time I would withdraw money for the company as an accounting officer. I had withdrawn more than that in the past. I have been working with the company for five years,” he added.

Apprentice Absconds With Employer’s Children A Day After Resumption. (Photo)
An apprentice, identified simply as Grace, has allegedly absconded with the two children of her employer, Mrs. Suliyat Azeez, in the Okokomaiko area of Lagos State.
The incident happened on Friday, less than 24 hours after Grace resumed apprenticeship at Suliyat’s workshop on Ora Street, PPL bus stop, Okokomaiko. The children she kidnapped have are Farouk, 4; and six-year-old Kafayat.
According to PUNCH Metro, Grace fled with the children after they returned from school that fateful Friday and went to their mother’s shop.
She claimed she was going out to buy food and asked the children to accompany her. Only to abscond with them. Nobody had Grace’s contact or knew her place of residence.
The victims’ mother, Suliyat, said she had gone for a meeting of hairdressers when the incident happened. She said,
“The girl came to my shop on Wednesday and said she wanted to learn hairdressing. I asked who her guarantor was because she said she came alone. She said she stayed with a friend in the area and she would have come with her, but the friend had gone to work.
“On Thursday, she returned and bought soft drinks and biscuits to celebrate the commencement of her apprenticeship. I even shared the drinks with people. That was the day she started working.
“On Friday, I planned to go to her place of residence, but I had to first attend a meeting of hairdressers in the community. When I returned from the meeting around 4pm, I was told nobody knew where she went to with my children and we started searching for them. I believe she hypnotised my children.”
The victims’ father, Fatai, a mechanic, said the family had reported the incident at the Ojo and Okokomaiko police divisions. He said other efforts at finding the children had been abortive.
“The girl just identified herself as Grace. She should be about 20 years old. My wife couldn’t collect her phone number because her phone (Suliyat) was faulty. She just decided to admit her because the girl asked for help. We don’t know any of her relatives and friends,” Fatai added.
A relative, Mr. Sanni Saidi, blamed Suliyat for not getting a snapshot of the suspect, adding that it could be difficult to find her.
He said,
“On the day of her induction, Suliyat could have taken her snapshot. She could have taken her phone number. But she didn’t do all these and I think she should take the blame. This shows the extent that people could go to execute their devilish intentions. How could you steal two children without any fear of God? We appeal to the security agencies to help us find the children.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the matter was not reported at the police stations. She urged the parents to go back to the station nearest to them, “so that investigation can commence.”

A man in Uganda has been arrested for pretending to be a woman and fleecing unsuspecting men of their money.
Ivan Bebeto was arrested by police in Kampala after several men claimed that he took money from them under false pretenses.
Most of them described him as a beautiful woman who wore a wig, short skirt and make up.
The man, who calls himself Queen, has been operating through East and Central Africa including Nairobi (Kenya), Kampala (Uganda), Bujumbura (Burundi) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
“It is not easy to discover that he is a man because he knows how to groom himself to look persuasively woman-like,” said a source.
“He wears feminine perfume and when he goes clubbing, he hangs out predominantly with women, especially commercial sex workers.”
Bebeto was arrested after a man who was interested in him paid for sexual favours, believing she is a woman.
He kept giving the man excuses why he couldn’t sleep with him even though he had already received a down payment from the wealthy man.
Bebeto said he could not go to his house, claiming he felt more comfortable in his room, and thus asked the supposed customer to accompany him to a room where he kept his items.
It’s from this that the man suspected Babeto might be a criminal pretending to be a girl. He quickly informed the police who raided the apartment only to be shocked that he was a man and not a woman after questioning him.

Final year student of UNN commits suicide
A final year student of the University of Nigeria Nsukka studying Agric Economics has taken his life.
According to his friend, Nwachukwu Daniel Ikechukwu, who yesterday posted the photo on Facebook, the young man killed himself over a debt. Apparently, he lost some money to betting.
Cult clash leave 4 dead in Auchi polytechnic
Despite the numerous campaigns in various institutions of higher learning to end cultism and violence, the malaise still has a way of rearing its ugly head every now and again.
It has again reared its head in the polytechnic town of Auchi, Edo state, as about four persons are feared dead in a renewed cult clash in and around the town. The recent clash was between members of the Eiye and Black Axe confraternities.
According to The Guardian, the cult clash began Thursday after the completion of the end of the session examination by the federal polytechnic Auchi. The report suggests that trouble began when members of the two groups had an altercation at a graduation party organised by a certain student on Thursday. The party was in direct violation of a school rule which banned end of session celebrations and partying in the school because they usually ended in catastrophe.
One of the victims was reportedly taken out along the Benin-Auchi-Okene highway while the other three were murdered in various other locations within the school premises.
When contacted, Public Relations Officer of the Edo state Police Command, Moses Nkombe, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.

80 couples wed at Nyanya Catholic Church

Bobrisky explains why he abandoned islam
Nigerian transvestite, Bobrisky, has explained why his old practice of Islam would have been a hindrance to his current celebrity status.
The bleaching specialist whose real name is Idris Okuneye said the daily rituals observed in praying as a Muslim would have been too rigorous for him.
He disclosed all these in an interview published by Vanguard News on Saturday, November 26, 2016.
“I am not a practicing Muslim.
“If I have to be a practicing Muslim, I will have to do ablution five times a day and apply make-up after each ablution and that will be very stressful.
“I started going to church as an undergraduate. My room-mate was one of the executives of the Christian Fellowship.
“So I got fascinated and usually joined them to pray. I know prayer works and do that daily.
“My Muslim name is Idris. I don’t really have a Christian name. But I use ‘Olanrewaju’ as cover; by this, people will not know if I am a Christian or a Muslim.”

Zahra Buhari’s wedding postponed by a week
It is no longer news that Zahra Buhari, the pretty daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari was scheduled to wed in the next couple of days with the wedding programme starting on Tuesday 30th of November.
The plans have however been altered, according to the latest reports originating from the family. Independent sources also confirmed this.
According to sources, the wedding Fatiha has now been scheduled for 9th December, 2016. This implies that it has been moved forward by a week.
The reason given for shifting of the wedding is that there is a state visit from a prominent monarch to Nigeria on the day earlier slated for the wedding fatiha and having insisted that he wants to be there at the wedding, the President’s views and position has to be respected.
Meanwhile, we have confirmed that apart from the wedding Fatiha, four other activities are lined up with three of them in Abuja.
These include a dinner by the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari which is to kick-start the whole programme in Abuja. The dinner has been slated for the Banquet hall of the State House. After the dinner comes another dinner by the wife of the Senate President and the last one by the family of the bride. For security reasons, we have been warned keep the other venues as well as dates and times off the media.
It was also learnt that the wedding continues to be a hush hush thing because the powerful forces in the Villa wanted it kept as a total secret until journalists broke the ice.
Indeed, up till date, wedding invitation cards are yet to be sent out despite the fact that ASO Ebi has been purchased. It is as bad as that, our sources confirmed.
Because of the President’s averse to having a wedding that becomes a major issue in the media, no information is being sent out.
Moreover the hawks in the Presidency who want to get back at the wife of the President over her outbursts in the interview with BBC weeks back have also seen an opportunity for them to clip her wings and ensure that what would have come in terms of support from outside of the Villa do not come.

Sometime back, I was on my way to drop off some items for a friend. I was on a bus and settled in at the back and two male youth corps members got in after me and sat beside me.
The journey had not been long when they began a very loud discussion on girls and relationships. I normally listen to music but on that day, I wasn’t with my earphones, so, I was treated to story after story of their sex lives, and then the talk shifted to “passing girls around.”
These two young men were actually engaged in a serious discussion about the different girls that they slept with and dumped. These guys were not only talking about who they passed to whom after they had finished with the girls, they were actually sharing messages and pictures in the bus!
This issue of ladies giving out nude pictures to random guys that they are dating and then ending up in trouble later on is something I have talked and written about many times and very few people actually believe it.
Nothing was sacred. I had to even look over to be sure this wasn’t some ruse but there it was. Pictures, chats and all! One even declared in vulgar terms that he hates it when he has slept with a lady and gotten tired of her, then passes her to one of his friends and she messes up that new relationship; that is if you can even call that a relationship in the first place!
He says such a girl was being foolish and that if she would only behave herself and also gives the new guy all the sex and attention he wants, she may end up marrying him. I found it very shocking that someone with a functioning brain could actually say such not to talk of thinking about it.
For him, what he has done is alright and has no bad side but the lady in question is wrong for deciding not to sleep with some new guy?
It did not end there. The other corps member agreed with him and said such girls were just noise-makers and horrible individuals. In his opinion, they should be happy and sleep with the new boyfriend, wash, cook and clean for him and then she could see if they had a future together.
When I see such people, I often wonder and sometimes ask if they would be happy to see their own sister in such a position. Who raises these boys and what are they teaching them?
Those two were actually praising themselves as gods, masters of sex and deception (since the girls didn’t know they were “used” and dumped with style then stylishly handed over for “reuse” by another person) and yet they were offended that the new guy the ladies are with do not get sexed up too and waited on? Is that not a high level of foolishness and brazen stupidity?
I keep telling ladies to be careful with such guys but some will never listen. If you want to wash, cook and steam up his bed all day and night, no problem. It is your life, but do not think this is not exactly how some of you end up – passed around like a used rag from guy to guy.

I don’t, for a second, doubt that many ladies sleep with such guys, cook and clean for them and then may end up marrying the person. I won’t twist it to suit my personal beliefs but, it doesn’t change the fact that a lot of time it doesn’t work that way. Ladies need to be careful.

Kim Kardashian has been left ‘furious’ by husband Kanye West’s latest on stage meltdown and thinks it’s time for him to ‘grow up, stop having tantrums and be a man’, according to friends.
The news of Kim’s fury came just hours before West was hospitalized for his own safety after suffering a psychotic breakdown..
‘Kim is fed up,’ a close friend told DailyMail.com.
‘They’ve been bickering constantly – she didn’t want Kanye to do the tour in the first place. She wanted him by her side as she recovered from her traumatic robbery in Paris.
‘She lost days with him while he’s touring and then he made a rash decision to end the concert after ten minutes and go on a rant.’
The 36-year-old, who was seen boarding a private jet bound for New York without her husband on Monday morning, has spent the past month reassessing her future – with her career at the forefront of her mind.
West’s ‘narcissistic’ behavior has proved problematic and friends tell DailyMail.com that she wants him to ‘grow up and be a man’ and be a proper source of support for her.
She wants him to grow up and really be a man, stop throwing tantrums and thinking throwing a tantrum on stage is more important than being with your children, especially after she just went through this horrible ordeal,’ explained an insider.
‘That’s messed up. Her heart and soul need to be nurtured right now. She wishes that person was Kanye but she’s realizing right now that it’s probably not.

Saturday night’s concert at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center, which was added to the tour by the rapper ‘due to popular demand’, was also sold out.
But West’s decision to add extra dates to the tour did not go down well with his 36-year-old wife who is said to be fed up with of his ‘narcissistic behavior’ and lack of support.

Beautiful lady who has lost two of her fingers to strange disease needs help
According to this young girl with the Instagram handle @maryann7049, she has been suffering from a strange disease which has led to losing of her fingers.. now she’s pleading for help from celebrities and other well-meaning Nigerians.
Her post reads:
“Being holding this pain inside for so long, oh lord send me an angel and lead me out of this place….
It all started as a tiny wound, after series of scan it was discovered I had congenital arteries and veins malformations of the hand (AVM)✋ which has ulcerated the only way to stop it from spreading is to fix it from inside,by separating the veins, after 3 surgeries it keeps spreading, then the doctors concluded we cut of the part it has affected, making me lose two fingers,and half of my palm with hopes that’s where its going to end..it still keeps spreading now the doctors are saying the only way it might stop is if a lower elbow right hand amputation is done.
Those words keeps ringing in my head, its not a guarantee it wil stop…here I am already lossing friends, my family out of funds, spending months in the hospital ?.
