Two outstanding National Youth Service Corps members who are both firstclass graduates have died mysteriously at their respective orientation camps.
The first to die, Miss Ifedolapo Amoke Oladepo lost her life in unclear situation at the Kano NYSC orientation camp on November 29.
More details of the information as reported by Punch revealed that the corper might have died of negligence as alleged by her family members.
According to one Ajibolu Marcarony Yusuff, who appears to be a relation of the deceased, Ifedolapo called home five hours to her death and told her older sister, Mrs. Oyeyode Abimbola (a nurse) to start coming to her Kano orientation camp because, as alleged, the NYSC doctors were not giving enough care.
Yusuff said the late 26-year-old corps member who graduated with a First Class degree in Transport Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, was given injection at the orientation camp’s clinic, but that she called home to say that she had reacted to the injection, as she noticed visible rashes all over her body.
Later, Yusuff claimed, Ifedolapo called home to complain of tongue-twisting, and was reportedly given another injection.
Yusuff continued, “When a male doctor agreed to speak with her sister (Oyeyode Abimbola), he explained that Ifedolapo was having anaphylaxis (acute allergic reaction) and that they intended to place her under observation for an hour before transferring her to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.”
Yusuff claimed that it took about five hours before the camp management transferred Ifedolapo to General Hospital, Gwazo, instead of the AKTH as promised.
She allegedly became incommunicado, as she could no longer be reached on phone.
Thirteen hours later, the family allegedly received a call from the Kano State NYSC camp officials informing them of her death.
But, the Head of the NYSC Press and Public Relations in Abuja, Mrs. Bosede Aderibigbe, has denied that Ifedolapo did not die of stress as thought by the relations.
She said Ifedolapo was sick when she arrived the Kano orientation camp.
Also, another First Class graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Uyo, Mr. Ukeme Monday, lost his life in a most shocking manner at the Zamfara State orientation camp.
He reportedly died on Thursday, December 1, of yet-to-be-ascertained causes.
A classmate of his, one Mr. Patrick Immo, noted that Monday was a committed Christian worker in his local assembly, the Power City International.
Speaking on Ukeme’s death, Immo said the two of them had shopped together a few days to the orientation camp, and that they departed Uyo for their respective orientation camps on November 23.
“It was thus a rude shock to me when, on December 1, I heard that Monday had died,” Immo narrated.
In addition to his First Class certificate, friends said Monday also won four scholarships and other top academic prizes as a student.

A young woman born without a vagina can now have s*x, after doctors performed a life-changing op to create a man-made vaginal canal using a skin graft from her bottom, The Sun UK reports.
According to the report, the woman identified as Devan Merck, 23 discovered at the age of 12 that she had been born with no vaginal canal, a malformed uterus and no cervix. Doctors later diagnosed with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome.
But, things have now changed for the woman after doctors created a “man-made” vagina for her. This gives her husband the opportunity of enjoying a healthy s*x life. The couple have now concluded to start a family with the help of a surrogate.
Devan said: “I am no different – instead of having a fully functioning vagina I have a man made vagina.
“For years I was bullied and felt different.
“Kids would call me a ‘boy’ and a ‘freak’ and boyfriends would disappear when they realised I wouldn’t have s*x.
“But since I met my husband my life has changed completely.
“We recently discovered I have both my ovaries and we are hoping to have a biological child of our own.
“Everything I’ve been through has been me stronger and I think I will make an amazing mother.”
Devan first started experiencing difficulties when she was 12 years old. Every month she would suffer excruciating cramps, but doctors were unconcerned and said it was the beginning of her periods.
At 16, she underwent an operation to “make” her a vagina so she was able to have s*x.
Devan said: “They had to basically make a vaginal opening for me so that I can have intercourse.
“I had a thick layer of skin that covered my vaginal opening that they had to cut open and then they took skin from my bottom and placed it inside of me.”
The skin was rolled up and inserted into the newly created opening to form a vaginal canal. For several months Devan had to wear a foam insert inside her vagina to stop the newly created vaginal walls from fusing back together.
The surgery was a success, but Devan’s problems were far from over and she endured years of merciless bullying from her classmates.
Devan said: “The name calling hurt. It hurt my feelings a lot but I dealt with it. It definitely made me a stronger person. I didn’t judge, I just knew that they didn’t understand.
“I was scared to open up. I was scared of what guys would think about me.
“I was scared what they were going to do and say because I do have scars and I felt different.
“I couldn’t have s*x. So it was difficult to have a boyfriend that was okay with that.
“It definitely ended some relationships really quick. But those relationships were not meant to be, and that’s ok.”
Things got worse after she lost her virginity to her boyfriend at the time who would taunt her – saying that she “felt” different to other girls with her “artificial vagina”.
After leaving school, however, Devan found happiness with husband of five years, Trent, who serves in the US military. And the couple have recently discovered that Devan is carrying eggs in her ovaries – meaning the couple could have their own biological baby by using a surrogate.
Devan said: “All I’ve ever wanted is to be a mum and after everything I’ve been through I finally feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel.
“I want nothing more than to give my husband a child and start a family and now we have the hope that we never dared dream about.”
Devan has the full support of husband Trent, 28.
Trent said: “I am very proud of Devan. I know that this condition is really difficult emotionally and I am just glad I am here to support her.
“Sometimes she gets down and everything but I mean she always looks forward.
“I think she feels guilty about it but I never want her to feel that way and I don’t hold it against her ever.
“I love her no matter what.”
Now Devan and Trent have found a potential surrogate in a close family friend, and they hope that by December 2017 they will have their first child. And no one is more hopeful for the couple than Devan’s mum, Gina, 45.

The ponzi website, Ultimate Cycler went down early Thursday morning, specifically around 10:30am(Nigerian time), shutting out every member who owns an account with it.
When accessed, the site initially displayed an error line of code, before displaying ”Error 500” in bold letters, then it proceeded to display another message:
“Be right back. We are currently updating the site to give you a more pleasurable experience and will be back online shortly. Our update estimation is to be complete over the next 6 – 12 hours. Thank you, Peter Wolfing.”
Ultimate Cycler is a new ponzi scheme that followed MMM. This new money doubling scheme claims a promise of better returns on invested money than MMM.
The hook for Ultimate Cycler is members get a return of N50,000 after paying N12,500 to a fellow member he or she registered under.
As at the time of filing this report, the ponzi website has still not come to life. Dangers for members who have invested in it or others like MMM is that when such websites go down, chances are that it never comes up again and hence, “investors’” money goes with it.

A Nigerian, who goes by the name Pastor Ernest Chigozie Mbanefo has been unveiled as the mastermind of the suspected Ponzi scheme known as MMM Nigeria. According to an online report, Mbanefo is based in South Africa.
Nigerian Communications Week said Mbanefo registered the site MMM Nigeria.net domain on June 7, 2016 about at about 5 pm Nigerian time.
NAN quoting NCW And Pageone report written as far back as September said Mbanefo made a single year domain payment. The domain will expire on June 7, 2017. It was also revealed that MMM Nigeria is not part of MMM Global – a Russian company that was responsible for one of the world’s largest Ponzi schemes in the 1990s.
MMM Global was founded by Russian politician Sergei Mavrodi, his brother Vyacheslav Mavrodi and Olga Melnikova. The name of the company was taken from the first letters of the three founders’ surnames (MMM).
But like MMM Global, the Nigerian scheme is also a pyramid marketing scheme where an investor gets a 30 per cent return on investment. Around the world, MMM is feared.
In January 2016 the Chinese government banned MMM on the grounds that it is a pyramid scheme, (Ponzi scheme), and it is not registered in the country (and as a fraudulent scheme cannot be registered.
MMM recently crashed in Zimbabwe: Thousands of ‘Mavrodians’ in Zimbabwe were left in tears when the scheme crashed, losing tens of thousands of their lifetime savings.
Page One gave Mbanefo’s address as 1 ROYAL STREET, LINDBERG PARK, JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA. According to Page One, on the 15th of July, Ernest was awarded a certificate of completion of an online course titled ‘MMM Guiders School’.
The certificate was supposedly signed by Sergei Mavrodi himself. He has since given himself the nickname the ‘Super Guider of MMM’. To share news and information about MMM, Ernest also operates a subdomain. The site praises him and projects him as the leader of the Ponzi Scheme in Nigeria.

A 24-year-old woman is claiming she is still a virgin, despite given birth to a baby girl at a hospital in China in early November.
Lin Shuping said that she doesn’t have a boyfriend and has never known a man’s touch. When she was reasonably asked just where did the baby come from then? Lin said she has no clue.
On the morning of November 16th, she suddenly fainted and was taken to the hospital. She was then rather shocked when she started to go into labour, apparently unaware that she had been pregnant, despite missing her period for the last nine months, Shenzhen News reports.
Unfortunately, Lin sees this “immaculate conception” as less of a miracle and more of a hassle. She says that she doesn’t have the money to take care of the baby and wants to give her up.
Indeed, the hospital has desperately been trying to contact her family in Guangxi because the woman can’t afford to pay her hospital bills.
A 14 year old girl, identified as Onyeka John, has regained her freedom after she was allegedly chained by her mother to the burglary-proof bars for about a month.
The girl lived with her parents in a rented apartment on Serebe Street, Abaranje, in the Ikotun area of Lagos State. They reportedly tied her up by the neck and legs for habitually running away from home, which they ascribed to mental illness.
According to PUNCH Metro, the parents had gone out on Wednesday and locked up the girl as usual. On that day, the landlord, Mr. Oladapo Olubajo, was said to have gone to the backyard, where the family’s apartment is located, to check a pumping machine when he saw the girl.
The landlord alerted a resident, who reported the case to the police at the Ikotun division.
The resident, who begged not to be named, said the girl’s parents eventually showed up at the police station and made statements. He said,
“The parents locked the girl up. She is about 14 years old. She was chained naked to the burglary inside the room by the neck and legs. Policemen came to rescue the girl. Her parents later turned themselves in at the station. They said the girl had been a disgrace to the family.”
The landlord, Olubajo, told Punch that he wanted to take up the matter with the parents, but some residents prevailed on him not to. He explained that he met the girl naked in the apartment, adding that the condition she was could frustrate her to commit suicide.
Olubajo said,
“When I saw her chained to the burglar-proof bar, I raised the alarm. The police later got the parents to the station and interrogated them.
“The girl said she had been there for almost one month. Her parents moved here a year ago. I have noticed that their behaviour was odd. but I didn’t know they could go to the extent of chaining their daughter.
“People begged me and the police eventually released the girl to them yesterday (Wednesday). The conclusion we reached is that I want them out of my house. They also claimed the girl is mentally ill. Even if she is mentally challenged, was that the right way to go about it? She could have killed herself.”
Onyeka’s father, who spoke with PUNCH Metro on the telephone on Thursday, said he and his wife meant no harm for the girl.
He said:
“She always runs away from home. That was why we chained her. I think she is mentally ill. We planned to take her to a hospital this month. As I speak now, she has fled home again.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the case was under investigation.
“The lady is suffering from mental illness. Her parents chained her to prevent her from entering the street, and without intention to harm her,” she added.

A woman was “romantically electrocuted” the moment when she turned up at a church for a wedding she was invited to, only to realize she was the bride.
While the bride is usually responsible for the majority of a wedding’s organization, on this occasion, Mercedes Ortiz was kept completely in the dark.
In fact, the stunned bride only found out she would be the star attraction at the wedding when the doors of the church were opened.
Her husband, Gustavo, managed to arrange the ceremony at the church in Argentina, without his wife suspecting a thing. And her incredible reaction was caught on camera as dozens of her friends helped surprise her.
An almost nine-minute long film of her entrance, caught by a friend, shows how staff at the church in the city opened the massive wooden doors to the church and people start applauding.
Mercedes appears momentarily stunned before it appears someone tells her she has, in fact, arrived at her own wedding. She had been told she was going to a friend’s ceremony. She then breaks down into tears as she realizes what her soon-to-be husband has done.
Every time she composes herself, as her friends manage to put a veil on her head, she breaks down into tears as she spots another old friend. At one stage, she spots what are thought to be her three children with Gustavo; Gaspar, 13, Gianni, 10, and four-year-old Gala.
It takes her a number of minutes to make her way down the aisle with her father as she stops to greet guests. But she eventually gets to the altar where she gives Gustavo a kiss.
Later that night, while the couple danced, she told him: “I can’t believe you did this, you’re crazy.” The childhood sweethearts have been together for 30 years before Gustavo made Mercedes an honest woman, according to Argentinian site tn.com .

Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade revealed yesterday that he married his as a virgin – the executive governor also noted that presenting your body as a virgin is the greatest gift any woman could possibly hand to her husband.
Speaking during a lecture on the HIV/AIDS scourge to mark the 2016 World Aids Day in Calabar, the governor is quoted as saying:
“I should say to the teenagers here today that when somebody leads you to the altar, at the end of that day he should be glad to say I married my wife a virgin.”
He stated that young people easily gave in to sex due to financial inducement, peer pressure and influence of international movies and believed that with the use of condom they were secure from HIV, which in most cases was not full-proof protection against the pandemic.
According to the governor,
“When people use condom, they think they are safe which is the major cause of infection because evidence abound that the use of condom does not provide total protection against HIV/AIDS since the condom itself has small holes that are 0.05 wider than microbes, which makes HIV virus to pass successfully.”
Dr Rose Nyambi, the Director General of the State Action Committee Against AIDS, SACA, said the state had 164,267 persons (108,000 females; 61,827 males) living positively with the virus.
