The son of a former Ebonyi monarch, Nelson Igboke, has taken to social media to advise men against kneeling when proposing to their partners.
Nelson’s father, HRH Ezeogo Igboke Ewa, the traditional ruler of Umuezeokaoha community in Ezza North Local Government Area, was killed by gunmen on February 27, 2023.
According to Nelson, any man who kneels to propose to a woman or on his wedding day, has unknowingly submitted his authority to her.
He wrote,
“Once you kneel to engage a woman or on your wedding day, that’s the day you submitted your authority as a man to her unknowingly, such woman don’t make good wife.”
This statement provoked reactions from netizens who disagreed with his logic, while some affirmed that it was indeed wrong for a man to kneel to his partner. See some comments below,
Uchenna Ali commented, “Kneeling down or not kneeing down. Every woman is full of nonsense, when you are able to take their Nonsense and bring out Sense in them, that’s what that makes you a man. Study more about groom and bride. You groom your bride to become a wife. Men who lack the knowledge of grooming left their women to remain a bride instead of wife.”
Silas Obinna wrote, “They are busy doing what they learnt from our slavee master. I’m an igbo man and I will never kneel down to propose to a woman”
Fabian Nwachukwu commented, “It’s wrong for an Igbo man to kneel down for a woman for any reason, but it doesn’t really mean what you said.”
Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, has spoken up about the difficulties associated with fame and success as she reveals why she switched from Afrobeats to RnB.
In an interview that was included in the most recent issue of Interview Magazine, she discussed many topics with American rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Tems stated that success frequently entails demands and difficulties, but she attempts to get over them by being herself.
The renowned musician also discussed her love of the RnB genre and how she had abandoned Afrobeats in favor of it. She claimed that her only goal in using the R&B genre was to spread a message.
She stated that every person she had asked for guidance from on her chosen career path had suggested she pursue Afrobeats instead.
Tems continued by saying that even after hearing the advice, she didn’t give up because her main objective wasn’t to get money.
She said,
“When you become more known or seen, it’s very easy to get caught up in, “What do people expect of me now?” But for me, it’s like, “What do I expect of myself now?” Because you’re the one that has to live with yourself, the one that has to sleep with the decisions that you make. Trusting yourself is so key, and I’m not going to stop trusting my guts just because people can see me now. It’s like being in a zoo. The animals don’t change their behavior just because you’re looking at them. They’re always going to be who they are. So why should I change?
I was prepared to die. I believed in myself so much that I didn’t really care if I never became anything or anyone. I just wanted to get a message out. I wanted to get my frequency out. And I was like, ‘Even if ten people hear this, it’s fine.’ But also along the way, I used to listen to a lot of Nigerian music and I wasn’t getting a lot of spiritual—I love Celine Dion, so, I love that intense feeling of, I’m about to jump off a cliff. That’s how I want my music to feel all the time, and Afrobeats wasn’t necessarily giving me that type of stimulation.
The only way you can do this is Afrobeats. It’s not that your music is bad, it’s just that it doesn’t fit in Nigeria. Nigerians don’t like this.”
Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has shared his opinion on the arrest of more than 100 suspected homosexuals accused of being involved in a gay wedding in Delta State.

Taking to his Instagram page, Bobrisky chastised the men for attempting to perform a gay wedding in a country where the act was illegal and added that they deserved the treatment they got.
According to him, if they were that in love with their partners, they should have left the country to relocate somewhere else where being openly gay was welcomed.
He wrote,
Hey guys!!! I want to quickly addressed those set of guys who were arrested in delta. You see dis class is not actually meant for everyone. But i strongly believe you can learn from those Alist. Firstly there’s a law passed against you guys that you can’t marry urself in dis country why d hell did you all call urself together to organize a wedding? That’s d dumbest news have read dis week. You all deserve how you all were treated sad truth. If you feel you are in love with ur partner and you want to be together why not relocate to where you are welcome?
Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha, has reacted to the arrest of more than 100 suspected homosexuals accused of being involved in a gay wedding in Delta state.
Earlier today, the spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, paraded the suspects at the police headquarters in Asaba.
According to him, the suspects were allegedly holding a gay wedding at a hotel in the state, when they were apprehended.
Taking to her Instagram page, she stated that the suspects had not committed an offense grave enough to be paraded.
According to her, they have not hurt or killed anyone with their lifestyle, and it is not a sin to live like them, so they deserve to be left alone.
She wrote;
“Leave these people alone.
They did not kill, steal or harm anyone.
They are not the cause of Nigeria’s demise and predicaments. Let them live their lives.
You that are busy committing fraud, sleeping around with married men and women, lying etc
You are no better than these folks living their lives.
Until many of you work in the medical field and understand the mechanisms behind sexual orientation, you will continue to live by the preachings of hate many con artist who call themselves pastors have poured into you as preachings.
I laugh at the stupidity of some Nigerians who still believe that sin has categories and being
“gay” is the worst of.. You are only deceiving yourself. In the eyes of God, sin is sin and many of you indulge in worst sins.
I have a poignant question for you Nigerians, Do you think God will give you trophy if you harm or kill any of these people he created in his image and likeness? You will be hailed for committing murder? And you think God will welcome you with his open arms?
What most of you practice is not
Christianity, you are practicing hate and bigotry. If for any reason you think this is a
“western culture ” being brought to Nigeria, then you are the most ignorant of them all.
Hold your politicians and pastors accountable for the anger and poverty you are facing and leave these people alone to live In Peace.
This is not an endorsement of how they live their lives, rather this is about their humanity.
Let them be gay”

I immediately asked you to come back that we’ve been praying for you to get better, and you replied in Igbo “ Alaikiri’m ebe’m nò, ebe’m no mara nma.” meaning “ I like where I am, where I am is beautiful” and just after you said that, a message came into my phone with the confirmation from the hospital that you had passed.
Immediately after Matthew 5:4 came alive in my life, it says “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
I felt a STRONG sense of comfort in my heart, literally.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 came into my spirit as well and it says “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope”
Your transition strengthened my christain life, your transition strengthened my faith again to remind me of life after earth. Your transition forever stamped into my heart that there is heaven and hell and I am glad you made it to where we are all fighting to get to.
You have finished your race here, you have fought the good fight of faith and you made it to the eternal glory of Jesus Christ.
This is not goodbye, it’s see you later 😘🙂
Rest now mama till I see you again. You can call me Don Willy’m from up there 🙂. I love you.”

In order to teach the ladies a lesson, the man allegedly planned to start getting them pregnant. The girlfriend who told the story while pregnant announced her intention to terminate her own pregnancy.

A man identified as Mr. Favour Ibex, who claims to be the fiancé and manager of a Nigerian gospel singer, Amaka Gift, has revealed that she has left him for another man.
Favour took to his Facebook page to make this revelation on Monday, August 28, 2023, stating that she betrayed him after he allegedly sponsored and invested in her music career.
He said he met Amaka about nine years ago and they dated for three years before he introduced her to music in 2017. He said he was in charge of producing her songs, managing her social media accounts, and promoting her music.
According to him, he and Amaka were betrothed to each other, and he was waiting for her to graduate from university before paying her bride price. He also mentioned that they didn’t get sexually intimate because of their religious belief.
However, trouble started after he introduced Amaka to a gospel minister, one Maxy Michael, for a song collaboration. He said the duo started sharing videos and pictures of themselves in compromising positions, and when he confronted Amaka, she refused to end the ‘affair’.
Speaking further, he revealed that Amaka tried to change the passwords of her social media platforms in order to cut him out so he deactivated her pages.
Read his full post below:
“Amaka Gift social media accounts was never hacked as she is “PAINTING” but was taken down by her sponsor after she made several attempts to change their passwords because the page is now yielding income. I took it down over betrayal of trust, love, commitment and investment for 9years. I dated Amaka Gift for 3years before introducing her to music in 2017 from her local church choir.
I created all the social media accounts and saw to their growth. I shot every single video and made all post on the pages I created, l Spent money on newspapers, radios stations, printing of CDs, branding of outfits, hosting concerts with Bilboards and Posters. Carrying out Charity activities, paying and setting up rehearsals all in the name of promoting and projecting Amaka Gift to limelight.
As a girl I had future plans with, her comfort became my priority. I Furnished her apartment with properties and gadgets to the best comfort and set up a Studio at her apartment for her to perform well without stress both in Music and her Academics. Her lodge mates can attest to this.
I went with Amaka Gift to Maxy Michael for a collaboration of songs to expose her more for us to win more souls for God through the now booming gospel music page but instead of songs they went into fake proposal prank video, which was made to stir up reactions and draw attention to the new songs both will subsequently release.
They refused to do an early debunk of the prank video as earlier agreed. They went further to post more romantic videos with affection and as they both started flirting with each other.
As Amaka Gift sponsor and fiancé, we agreed to keep our relationship private to protect and maintain sanity her ministry. I always appear as her manager only to make our relationship public when we’ll be getting married upon her graduation from the university but Amaka Gift betrayed and took advantage of my our private relationship and position as her manager to flirt with Maxy Michael
I managed the situation silently to protect her brand and had private warnings and dialogues with Amaka Gift for a month over her affair with Maxy Michael. Even with the pains and disappointment I faced
The second month I took the complaints to her family, She continued till the third month. Right Before Amaka Gift and Maxy Michael I told Maxy to leave Amaka to concentrate as a woman of God. Amaka Gift Mother also called Maxy Michael to inform him that her daughter is in a relationship which she has benefited from and not ready to welcome another.
During the time of our relationship, which is known to both parents and close friends. I and Amaka Gift has knelt down and received blessings from our both late father’s before they died. Even on sick bed Amaka Gift father made a request to the family not let me face difficulties while paying her bride price as I’ve done so well to lift her in her career as he has seen the progress so far and had attended concerts and birthday party’s hosted for Amaka Gift courtesy of me.
Amaka Gift wanted to leave the relationship as a saint who has also been single and sponsoring herself. She wanted to leave and enjoy the benefit of my efforts over the years alone with a guy she met within few weeks. She wanted to leave when the entire struggle has started paying off. She wanted to leave because she’s in love and has forgotten my blood and sweat for 9 years
Hence I made this post for the general public to know the true nature of the story and the exact reason her page is temporarily down.
My only offence was that i was respecting God so I never took carnal knowledge of her, I was waiting for her to graduate from school before I perform her traditional rites.”
Big Brother Naija “All Stars” housemate, Adekunle Olopade and Venita Akpofure, have confirmed that they are in a romantic relationship.
The on-show couple, who evidently have something special going on between them, officially confirmed their relationship status during the live eviction show on Sunday, August 27.
The show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, had questioned the nature of their relationship, while referencing Angel’s claim that the 29-year-old housemate is Venita’s ‘boy toy’.
“Is he [Adekunle] your boy toy? What actually is the situation?”, Ebuka asked.
In response, Venita vehemently denied using Adekunle as her ‘boy toy’. She further clarified that he is her boyfriend and expressed her wish for their love to extend beyond the four walls of Big Brother house.
The mother of two said, “He is definitely not a boy toy. He is my boyfriend. We are starting a friendship that will hopefully extend beyond this House.”
Again, Ebuka asked, “Are you official as well?”
The 36-year-old reality TV star responded, “Yeah, I will say I am on my end but we haven’t discussed it. This [pointing to Adekunle] is my number one guy right now.”
This time, Ebuka turned to Adekunle and asked, “So, Adekunle, is she [Venita] your girlfriend? Are you her boyfriend?”

Speaking on the “Terms and Conditions,” podcast, Pretty Mike criticized Blessing Okoro’s BBL, calling it the worst he has ever seen in Nigeria, while discussing the greatest and worst BBL performed by celebrities.
Reacting to this, Cupcake commented, “Una don comot from hookup , hunters and everyday relationships, today na bbl. No one ever picks up the mic to give ideas for the youths to find a pathway, no one is being a positive mentor. Only to come gossip, promote negativity and make money from it, sunday we go to church and act like we love ourselves . Popular Nollywood actress, Aisha Lawal, has stated that Yoruba actors and filmmakers started and own the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood.
The ‘Jagun Jagun’ star made this claim during a recent interview with Tribune, while addressing critics who believe that the Yoruba aspect of Nollywood is ‘playing catch-up’.
According to her, Yoruba people are the pioneers of the movie industry and thus own Nollywood. She also urged people to conduct research to get their facts right.
Her words,
“We own the industry. Go back to research. The industry belongs to the Yoruba people. If you go back to research, you will hear from people like Hubert Ogunde and Ade Love.
I don’t want to go into details. But, if you go and research very well, you will discover that Yorubas own this industry, we started this industry.
We m£ssed up at some point, but we are not playing catch-up. We are there already. Now, everybody wants to shoot a Yoruba movie.”

Popular Nigerian singer,Iyanya has opened up about his near-suicide experience while dealing with work pressure and debt.
Iyanya made this known during an interview on the most recent episode of the “Tea With Tay” podcast, hosted by actor Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, also known as Taymesan.
The singer stated that he might have gone through with the act if not for the help of his manager, who suspected that he was up to something.
Iyanya admitted that before his manager interrupted him, he had already bought the poisonous liquid he planned to drink in order to take his life.
“I was in court for a long time, I didn’t do shows. I couldn’t do anything. You know, when you stopped doing show, you now have to fall back on your savings. But when you are popping, that inflow [of money] is different, the way you spend is different from the way you spend whatever you saved. So, I felt it.
I got to a point where I was like, mehn, I need to start touring. That was a crazy period for me. Guess what, two days after my last court case, COVID-19 started. I was stuck. I was in a hotel. My house was gone. I was in the hotel for a very long time. It got to one point, I couldn’t pay for the hotel bills anymore.
The owner of the hotel is such a great human being. I have never seen a such an amazing human being like that. He allowed me stay there. His name is Alaba. He allowed me stay there for over a year. COVID literally caught up with me there. So, imagine not doing shows. Not touring for over a year, no inflow, and you are in court for the whole year. And then finally, it’s looking like the court case is finishing, the lockdown.
I was in that hotel throughout the lockdown. I almost committed suicide. The manager stopped me one time. All of that stuff. Madness, man,” he said in part.
In a candid YouTube interview, the controversial influencer revealed a rather unconventional tradition. She explained that she has a total of 19 tattoos, with a surprising twist: 11 of these tattoos are dedicated to her ex-boyfriends, particularly after they have passed away.

In a more candid revelation, Shakila admitted to losing track of her sexual partners, asserting that attempting to tally them would be a daunting task for her sanity.
In her words ; “I don’t know my body count, if I start counting, I will honestly run mad, but I don’t remember honestly.”
Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has stirred reactions online after paying homage to the publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, with whom he had a disagreement in the past.
Recall that, Davido and Mr. Momodu got into a fight in 2016 over the latter’s support of Sophia, the singer’s first baby mom.
Davido then proceeded to call the media mogul ”his boy” in a song, and this generated massive controversy.
But seven years after the event, Davido and the Ovation CEO crossed paths when Davido went to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s office.
In a viral video, the DMW chairman bows to embrace Dele Momodu before giving him a bear hug. Many of his followers praised him for his improvement after that action.
A while back, Davido took a break during his Afronation concert in Detroit, Michigan, to pay respect to his colleague, Wizkid’s late mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun.
On August 18, 2023, Wizkid lost his mother to the icy grip of death.
Fans and colleagues of the award-winning artist have paid tribute to his late mom at their performances, while others have posted condolence messages on their social media pages.
Davido expressed his condolences to WizKid and mentioned that he was familiar with loss because he had lost his mother, Mrs. Veronica Adekunle.
According to him, Wizkid had the chance to honor his mother with his musical accomplishments before she passed away.
He said;
“Personally, I have lost so many people in my life. And I want to send condolences to my brother, Ayo Balogun Wizkid. To his mother, may her soul rest in peace.
I lost my mother myself years ago. But I know whatever he [Wizkid] has done, he has made his mother proud.”
