yems-osibajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday during an interview with journalist after a ministration at a church in Abeokuta, Ogun State said the change that his party promised during the 2015 campaign will be visible in another couple of years.

“There are lots of people who will say where is the change they promised. People will condemn and shout, but we are very focused, calm and extremely confident that God is on our side and this country will not be the same. In another couple of years, we will see the difference. All of us have a part to play in the change. Nigerians must be patriotic in our dealings and daily activities. We should be committed to the nation” he said

Woman who kidnapped two siblings strips naked in prison

A female suspect in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, Lagos State, has been taken by the police to the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, to determine her state of health.

The suspect, whose name had yet to be ascertained, was arrested after two missing siblings were found with her in Ojuwoye Market, Mushin.

The suspect has been said to be creating confusion at the SCIID.

She was said to have stripped naked on numerous occasions, including the times she was taken out of her cell to give her statement to the police.

It was gathered that she also attacked other suspects in her cell, which made the authorities at the SCIID to move her to a solitary cell.

A source at the SCIID told a Punch correspondents that at the solitary cell, the suspect continued to strip herself naked and was fond of dancing with vigour.

“Since the time they brought her, she had been misbehaving. We initially thought she was putting up a show, but we discovered it was not ordinary.

“She could dance from morning till night although nobody heard the music she was dancing to. She would suddenly remove her clothes, sometimes tearing the clothes off her body. We have tried to take her statement many times, but each time, she stripped herself naked. We usually had to force her to wear the clothes.

“We had to isolate her in a cell so that there would be peace.

“She eats like elephant and as soon as she wolfs down her food, she would start dancing. If you don’t give her food, it is another problem. If you ask for her name, she will give you more than three names in a second. She had claimed to be Ganiyat, Cynthia, Sola, among other names,” the source added.

It was gathered that the police at the SCIID decided to take the woman to the neuro-psychiatric hospital to determine whether she was acting or her ailment was real.

It was learnt that doctors at the hospital, after reportedly ascertaining that she was mentally unstable, told the police to bring her back on Thursday, September 15, for a proper test.

Another source told one of our correspondents that the policemen at the SCIID decided to look for her family, but their efforts had been abortive.

She said, “It was as if she dropped from heaven. Nobody has come to look for her. We went to where she was arrested, but nobody knew where she came from. The suspect has refused to supply any information. She has been busy dancing and making a nuisance of herself. If her relatives show up, we may release her to them for proper care. If not, she will be charged to court and the court can determine her fate.”

It was also gathered on Monday that the suspect was mobbed while allegedly attempting to flee with two siblings, identified as Hammed Rasheed (6), and Farida Raheed (2).

Their mother, Simbiat, was attending to a customer when the suspect took them away.

It was reported that the suspect, who is about 22-year-old, would have been lynched but for the timely response of policemen from the Olosan Police Division.

The case was subsequently transferred to the SCIID.

Freeze says many pastors are businessmen in Pentecostal suits

freeze_01 (1)

Controversial On Air Personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze on Sunday decried the flamboyant lifestyles lived by many pastors.

The OAP said most pastors are not Christ-like, in other words they do not serve God.

In an article on his blog entitled, “Pastors today are business men in Pentecostal suits, they are so unlike Christ and his disciples!”, Freeze said it was shameful that tithe paying members could not attend schools built by churches they worship at.

Freeze went ahead to give a brief description of how the disciples of Jesus lived in died, which according to him is in contrast to how many pastors live nowadays.

See full blog post below:

Most pastors today are not serving God, they are so unlike Christ, and many are just business men in Pentecostal suits! Imagine tithe paying members of a church cannot afford to send their children to schools that those churches built; it’s a shame! Jesus and his disciples did not have the flamboyant lifestyles our pastor today live.

Here’s a deep insight into how the disciples lived and died!

Jesus’ death on the cross, as described in the New Testament, has become one of the most famous events. But what happened to the 12 disciples who were his closest followers? Not as much information has survived about their fates, but here is what’s available from various sources, including the New Testament itself, apocryphal texts, early Christian historians, legends and lore.

Simon, AKA Peter: Simon-Peter, who was appointed by Jesus the leader of the new sect, is viewed by Roman Catholics as the first pope, was eventually martyred in Rome during the reign of the emperor Nero. As the story goes, Peter asked to be crucified upside down, so that his death would not be the equal of Jesus and the Romans supposedly obliged.

Andrew: According to 15th Century religious historian Dorman Newman, Andrew—the brother of Peter—went to Patras in western Greece in 69 AD, where the Roman proconsul Aegeates debated religion with him. Aegeates tried to convince Andrew to forsake Christianity, so that he would not have to torture and execute him. But when that didn’t work, apparently he decided to give Andrew the full treatment. Andrew was scourged, and then tied rather than nailed to a cross, so that he would suffer for a longer time before dying. Andrew lived for two days, during which he preached to passersby.

James (son of Zebedee, AKA James the Greater): Acts 12:1-19 says that James was killed with a sword. The newly-appointed governor of Judea, Herod Agrippa, decided to ingratiate himself with the Romans by persecuting leaders of the new sect. After James was arrested and led to place of execution, his unnamed accuser was moved by his courage. He not only repented and converted on the spot, but asked to be executed alongside James. The Roman executioners obliged, and both men were beheaded simultaneously.

John: John was the only one of the original disciples not to die a violent death. Instead, he passed away peacefully in Patmos in his old age, sometime around 100 AD.

Philip: Philip, the first of Jesus’ disciples, became a missionary in Asia. Eventually, he traveled to the Egyptian city of Heliopolis, where he was scourged, thrown into prison, and crucified in 54 AD.

Bartholomew: Bartholomew supposedly preached in several countries, including India, where he translated the Gospel of Matthew for believers. In one account, “impatient idolaters” beat Bartholomew and then crucified him, while in another, he was skinned alive and then beheaded.

Thomas: Apparently Thomas preached the gospel in Greece and India, where he angered local religious authorities, who martyred him by running him through with a spear.

Matthew: According to legend, the former tax collector turned missionary was martyred in Ethiopia, where he was supposedly stabbed in the back by an swordsman sent by King Hertacus, after he criticized the king’s morals.

James (son of Alphaeus, AKA James the Less): According to Foxe, James, who was elected by his fellow believers to head the churches of Jerusalem, was one of the longest-lived apostles, perhaps exceeded only by John. At the age of 94, he was beaten and stoned by persecutors, and then killed him by hitting him in the head with a club.

Thaddaeus, AKA Lebbaeus, Judas or Jude: According to several stories, he was crucified at Edessa (the name of cities in both Turkey and Greece) in 72 AD.

Simon the Canaanite AKA the Zealot: Simon preached in Mauritania on the west coast of Africa, and then went to England, where he was crucified in 74 AD.

Judas Iscariot: According to Matthew 27:3-6, the treacherous apostle quickly felt remorse over his betrayal of Jesus and went to the Temple to recant. When the high priests ignored his plea, he threw down the 30 pieces of silver that he had been paid, and went off and hanged himself. But Acts 1:15-20, gives a different and even grislier version of Judas’ demise. He says that Judas used the blood money to purchase a piece of land and then fell headlong from a high place there, so that “he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.” Jerusalem residents subsequently named the place Aceldama, which means “the field of blood.”

Sallah: Fayose Distributes Rams To Muslims, Urges Them To Pray For Nigeria (Photos)

Fayose-Ram-0

Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose yesterday, Sunday 11th distributed rams to Muslim faithfuls and urged them to pray for peace and unity of the country.

He made this request after he monitored the distribution of rams to Muslim leaders at the Government House in Ado Ekiti. He said:

Fayose-Ram-01

“We should live above board, we should live in line with what we preach, as Muslim brothers we are one and the same. We must equally pray for the Unity of Nigeria. It is not enough to say I am a Christian or I am a Muslim, we must live by reaching out to one another and equally putting one another under check when we are doing the wrong thing, nobody should be above the law. “In the circumstance that we have found ourselves, our nation is in challenging times, we should come out and support this nation so that Nigeria does not go down”.

Fayose-Ram-02

“I do this because it’s part of the Cardinals of the Islamic religion and as a leader, the little I am able to do, I should be seen to be doing so. “I might not be able to buy ram for everybody, I can’t give ram to everyone but my people must still see the love in me trying my best to at least identify with everybody”.

Princess, Chigul, Mc Shakara, Here Are Top Nigerian Comedians Who Are Still Single And Why!

Chigul smile

It’s beyond doubts that the comic industry in the country has evolved to be an established money making firm. As many young acts are coming by the day, the comic scene seems to be a force to reckon with when it comes to entertainment in the country.

While we know that quite a number of these comic acts have settled down with their soul mates and are having a whale of time being a celebrity couple, we also know that there are some top comedians who have not even given us a hint of them tying the knots anytime soon.

We take a look at those celebs.

LEPACIOUS BOSE

lepacious boose

Lepacious Bose, whose real name is Bose Ogunboye, warmed her way into our hearts with her quick wit and sharp tongue. Her name was an irony of her big size.

The comedienne, whose widely celebrated weight loss is still spreading like wildfire is yet to tie the knot. The witty lady is also an actress. Although it has been rumoured she’s married, Bose is yet to officially deny or confirm the claim.

She graduated from University of Ibadan with a degree in Theatre Arts. She started her career while in the university when she joined Afro media Organization.

“Is It Right For A Christian To Eat The Moslem Ram?”

ramm

I’m a christian..and I really don’t bother about the “Don’t eat sallah meat thing because you’re a christian”.

I eat their meat, once in a while…It’s being ages since I ate the Sallah meat. Last year I didn’t eat, same with previous year…But surprisingly this year, I’ve been planning to eat at a Friends place tomorrow….and all from no where yesterday, I had this bad toothache… 🙁

A friend said, “Maybe God does not want you to eat Muslim ram because it’s so wrong and against the doctrine”.

I’ve been having this argument with Mike about this issue… He’s sometimes confused…and he says it’s against their doctrine..that muslims have used the ram to atone for their sins.

Another person said: It is not only wrong but it’s a bad luck to eat it. They actually cast their lots (bad luck and past sins) on the ram before killing it and so if you partake in it…….

Forgive my jibber-jabber.

My question is….Is It Right For A Christian To Eat The Moslem Ram During This Celebration??

Pretty Girl Who Made First Class After Surviving a Horrific Accident Shares Miraculous Story (Photos)

Ibadan-Girl-0

A pretty girl has come out in flying colours after a tragic accident threatened to end her life. The girl identified as Rebecca Chinyere Uchendu made a first class despite battling for her life after a horrible accident in Oyo state. The University of Ibadan graduate is currently a Corps member serving in Enugu state.

This is the story she shared on her social media handle:

Ibadan-Girl-01

“Saturday evening November 14 2015, reminds me of what it means “2fight for one’s life’. As I boarded a 20mins bike 4rm my school (UI) 2d University college hospital (UCH, Ibadan) for a quick visit. I had no idea that was going to be my home for a while as within 5mins of leaving the school gate all I remember is a car running in to my bike from the side.

Me dragging my almost lifeless body away from the busy road tasting blood in my mouth, pain all over my body. Voices of concerned passers-by helping me up as they asked…’who should we call?’. Jesus help me’ is all I could mutter as I was trying hard to hold onto my life while hearing ‘Rebecca please don’t sleep, just keep looking at this light’ (Nokia torch light).

Drips, injections, doctors, questions. Darkness…I couldn’t see a thing anymore…then I couldn’t make good sentences. ‘We have to run a CT scan and X-rays, to check her brain and her spinal cord’…that’s the last thing I heard.

‘Neuro ward’, that’s where I spent d following days. “The nurses would clean your wounds daily but you are not to move or turn your head, you will have to eat, urinate, poo, bathe on this bed. We need to be sure your spinal cord was not affected.” the doctor said.

Ibadan-Girl-02

Night was the time everything about life made me sad. I was a final year student, my project was still there, and I had exams in 2weeks. I cried every night. Was I going to have an extra year? I kept asking God so many questions. I depended on the nurses for everything…..everything! I left the hospital and then faced reality.

My project, exams. I studied hard, it was difficult because I had to wear the neck collar since I insisted on going back to school, I did not want bed rest.

So everything I did was with my neck collar: eat, drink, bathe, read. I could not bend, lift heavy things, or sleep on a bed. I would cry every time because I was in pain but I had to be strong.

I read in neck collar, wrote my exams, defended my project and graduated wit a 5.0 CGPA.

Wit the help of God, family, friends, lecturers, roommate, course mates and doctors, I pulled through.

Oh!…I still do not know the car or the man who hit me. Witnesses said, he ran his tyres on us, dragged us as the bike got hooked to the car and drove off on top speed! #TeamUnion #Unstop”

A Bag of Rice May Sell for N40,000 by December – Minister Reveals

Bag-of-rice

Trouble looms in the land as the the Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has revealed that a bag of rice may sell for N40,000 by December.

He also stated that Nigeria spends about $22bn a year on importation of food.

Lokpobiri made the revelation on Saturday at a town hall meeting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Lokpobiri said,

“For your information, we spend about $22bn a year importing food into Nigeria. We know how many more dollars … and that is why you see the price of rice going up.

“Price of rice was N12,000 some months ago, but it is now about N26,000 and if we don’t start producing, by December it could be N40,000.

“Rice matures in three months. So, this is a wake up call for Bayelsa people to take the four farms we have seriously. The federal government has four farms in the state in our records. The average land you see in Bayelsa can grow rice, so the colonial masters were not wrong in their assessment when they said Niger Delta could feed not only Nigeria but the entire West Africa sub-region.

“Unfortunately, agriculture till today, is not a priority of the Niger Delta as far as the state governments are concerned because of oil.”

This means the hardship in the land will continue as many have already been left hungry and starving since the beginning of this year.

4 reasons women cheat

Let’s face it: cheating has always been about searching for something one lacks. The society remains oblivious of the uncourteous behaviour of the many men who cheat invariably every day.

Women who cheat are branded as the devil’s agents, regardless of whether their reasons are ‘legitimate.’
Yes, legitimate.

Below are 4 legitimate reasons women cheat.

When the sex is repetitive

black-couple-argue

Repetition of the same sex position, in the same environment, makes the sexual encounter boring; it sucks the juice out of the act.

Couples can revive their sex life by subscribing to some variety in sexual positions.

Out of the box locations are also definitely a great way to spice things up and create some awesome memories.

Having a sexual encounter in a new location gets your adrenaline pumping, which helps you get even more aroused than usual, making those thrilling experiences unforgettable.

Revenge

black-couple

Some women find it difficult to forgive after being cheated. For those of you who have been cheated on, you know how awful it feels: you feel deceived, hurt, angry, sad and even violated. It also affects your self-esteem.

The very moment you find out that your man has cheated, your whole body begins to shake, you begin to sweat, your stomach drops, and you feel nauseated.

The pain and betrayal you feel can inspire infidelity. Cheating then becomes a solution.

But the biggest truth is that cheating never solves a relationship problem. Communication, assertiveness and increasing passion and romance are much better solutions.

Wrath Of God Will Visit Children & Grandchildren Of Corrupt Politicians – Ex CAN Boss

mbang

Former Prelate of the Methodist Church and one time President of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Prelate Sunday Mbang, has said that the wrath of God will visit the children and grand children of corrupt politicians who steal from the treasury just to benefit themselves and their families. The clergy man who recently turned 80 years old, said this in a recent interview with Tribune.

“In Christianity, the Bible makes it clear that when you commit a crime, it is to the third and fourth generations. The belief with us is that they have allowed the grace of God in the New Testament to seem to have covered what is in the Old Testament – the wrath and love of God – which is also reflected in the New Testament. If you don’t repent of your sin, the wrath of God will fall upon you. People suffer in this country and what they would do is to explain it scientifically. I said it earlier that I made a prayer and someone died.

That death would be explained scientifically and so the main point would be clear to the people. The fact is that once you commit sin; once you loot public treasury; once you convert money belonging to the people for yourself and family, you will suffer, your children will suffer to the third and fourth generations. When these things happen, people explain them scientifically.

Nowadays if anything happens to someone, it would be blamed on either the brother, father or the mother, not knowing that God’s wrath might have fallen on the person. Every sin has punishment.

What I can tell our politicians is that all the sins they have committed – corruption, hatred, killings, kidnapping, false accusations – the wrath of the God will visit them one after the other to the third and fourth generations. My prayer is that all those seeking political appointments, because the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, God is the owner of the earth. He is not an absentee landlord. He is interested in this world. So when you come and do whatever you feel like, don’t think God does not see it. He sees everything we do and He gives us the grace for what we have done right and punishment, for our wrongs.

AIT Presenter, Gbenga Aruleba Writes Moving Tribute to His 13-year-old Late Daughter (Photos)

rere

After the sudden death of his priced angel, child and daughter, Gbenga Aruleba of Africa Independent Television (AIT) has written a touching tribute in his late daughter’s honour.

Gbenga

Read below;

TRIBUTE TO MY GUARDIAN ANGEL, MY PRECIOUS JEWEL, MY FRIEND, MY JOY, MY COMFORTER, AND THE ONLY ONE WHO CALLED ME, “MY DADDY”, OUT OF THREE CHILDREN, RERELOLUWA APOTIERI OLUWAFIFUNMI DEBORAH ARULEBA, August 27, 2003 – August 28, 2016.

Finally, after two weeks of grief, loud yells when those who know her come calling on condolence visits, shrill, silent sobs which would then grow louder and attract attention, I now have the emotional stability and composure to NOT ONLY pay a tribute to you, My darling Angel, BUT to also express immense gratitude to the too numerous friends, relations, pastors, fellow church members, colleagues of my wife and I, way back in our days as boyfriend and girlfriend in the “80’s in Radio Lagos And Lagos Television, colleagues at DAAR Communications and the media generally, Management and teachers of Rere from Peaklane College, Senior and highly placed government officials, Senators , HoR members, Governors and indeed just mere acquaintances.

First, I like to pray that NONE of you will Ever experience the trauma of seeing a LOVED child die in your hands, as i did, and as i know, many of you who have travelled this road did. I pray that only things of JOY will be celebrated in our households. Rereloluwa was ( i hate to refer to her in the past tense) indeed a COVENANT Child.

The circumstances of her birth made her so. She was my 4th child, the 3rd, a boy, had been a still birth, had died in the womb for over 24 hours, according to the family doctor, and the logical, medical procedure was evacuation thru caesarian, but MIRACULOUSLY, he was delivered after my wife went into labour. But we had made a vow to have three children but then, the delay began until God made Good HIs Covenant to us to bless us. What better names to give Her than RERELOLUWA, meaning God is Good.

Right from when she could utter the first words, Rere would call me “My Daddy” , not just daddy, and i call her my Baby, Rerestic, and as she grew, she acquired other appellations like Rubu, (given to her by her elder sister, Tobiloba) For 13 years, Rereloluwa changed our lives in the family, always a mediator and conciliator . She knew when the mum was “beefing” “my Daddy” and she would call me from her room to leak the information, and would even tell me how, when and what to say or do when i call ‘mummy’.

Rere was loved by all, her friends, her teachers both in school and in church. Whenever we travelled for holidays, Rere’s shopping will be for friends, and she would then come back to me that mummy has not bought anything for her and i should shop for her, thus causing “friction” with mummy who would be jealous thatIi spent more money on a “small girl” than her, my WIFE.

Rere could read me like a book. She knew when am happy and would gist with me on everything, she knew when my mood is bad, and would just slipped into the bed, and gently ask, “Daddy, are you ok? Do you want anything? Do you want tea? Is is mummy? Do you want to be alone? Rere would NOT leave me until she had changed the situation. Now friends, you understand why am still grieving over MY LOSS.

My Rere left a void in my life. But i know SHE IS RESTING WITH THE LORD. Let me take a break now, because the emotions are welling up again. Part Two will be a tribute and thank you to all those million helping hands that have been holding us up as a family. For now, let me relieve this emotion, a bit.

The chairman averred that the committee has taken measures to ensure the judicious utilisation of the funds.

He also appealed to the district heads to ensure equitable distribution of the meat from their end.

“I Spent £30,000 On Players At Rio” – Mikel Finally Opens Up

0

Super Eagles Captain and Chelsea Midfielder, John Mikel bi has revealed he paid money to save dream team at the Rio Olympics in a new interview with Goal.com. This comes after Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung debunked rumours of any payment by the player.

1

“I think if we talk about the money that I put into the team I think it was more than [£30,000],” Mikel told Goal. “But we just had to do it.

“I said to myself, ‘I won’t let this happen. If I can help, I’ll try to help’. Sometimes there was no food, sometimes there was no pitch to train on, there was no bus to go to the training ground. So all of this was what me and the coach had to figure out, and get money together.

“I came to the camp. I sat down with the boys in Atlanta and I could see the frustration, the pain and the anger. Their aim was to play in the Olympics, their goal was to play in the Olympics. And for me being there and seeing what they are going through, they are young boys, they want to start their career and someone in the ministry is trying to crush that dream,” he said.

I Believe in ‘Testing’ Before Marriage – Nollywood Actress Says

actress-queen-agbor-1

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Punch’s Sunday Scoop, Calabar-born Nollywood actress, Queeneth Agbor, who is popular for her movie, ‘Hooked’, and who in recent times has become one of the most talked about actresses in the movie industry, wondered why many people believe that Calabar girls are husband snatchers.

“I don’t think we (Calabar girls) are husband snatchers, but we know how to keep a man to ourselves. Some men don’t like food, so you might not be able to keep him through that, but men like it when a lady is clean and of course good in bed. A Calabar girl is a combination of all,” she said.

The graduate of Microbiology from the University of Calabar, who few weeks ago in an interview revealed that she did not get a role in a movie that had Tonto Dikeh, as lead actress, because she refused to sleep with the producer of the movie, believes in sex before marriage because people need to have a feel of what they would have to live with for the rest of their lives.

“You have to know your package, I am not saying just go into it anyhow but just test it. You need to know what you are going into, so you don’t start cheating on your spouse. Most marriages that break up are solely because of this issue. So I think it is important for you to know what you are getting into,” she told Punch.

Outrage over Oyakhilome’s marriage sermon

Chris-Oyakhilome1

The General Overseer of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has come under strong criticism from Nigerians on social media over his religious views on gender equality.

A Facebook post on the official page of the church’s online ministry, last Sunday, cited an excerpt of the clergyman’s message titled ‘Who is a husband and what is his role?’, in which husbands were defined as “masters” as opposed to “male partners.”

Oyakhilome’s ex-wife, Anita, had on February 8, finalised her divorce from the pastor and dropped his last name for “Obhodaghe.”

Her lawyers confirmed the divorce earlier this year, following months of speculation that there was trouble in their marriage.

Anita, who had cited irreconcilable differences while filing for divorce, also severed ties with the church.

But Oyakhilome, in his message on Facebook, said the reason for most problems in Christian marriages was a refusal of God’s definition of marriage by women.

He said, “They believe they are equal partners. (But) ‘husband’ does not mean the male partner in a marriage, husband means master.

“The Bible says the man is the head of the woman (1 Corinthians 11:3) so when you marry him, you come under his authority. You are not authority sharers, even though you are both heirs to the kingdom of God.”

According to the pastor, when one decides not to subject oneself to that authority, one becomes a rebel.

“God is not going to accept what you are doing because you are not functioning correctly. Why did God make the woman? If most women had fathers bold enough to talk to them, they would be very successful in their marriage and they would be very happy people.

“Most women have never been taught by their parents, their fathers particularly and that’s their biggest problem because they don’t know who a man is. They think he is another woman,” he said.

The message went viral on many platforms.

Oyakhilome’s stance received backlash from some Nigerians, who expressed their disagreement in the comments section of the post.

Blessing Meteke said, “Unfortunately, this is the type of preaching that millions of Nigerians listen to. ‘Making a woman was not God’s original plan. When a husband is angry, the wife is the victim.’

“This is what men adhere to and they make their wives and daughters-in-law slaves in their own homes. Misogyny has eaten deep into several Nigerians and they use the Bible as a cover-up. This is not only disheartening but exasperating.”

Babalola Olusegun added, “Can the pastor explain Genesis 1:27, because looking at the passage, God put women in His plan even before creating them. The man should remember that the woman is removed from his ribs, which means the man is not complete without the woman.”

Jane Onyejiaka also said, “Some points in this sermon are flawed, with all due respect. I will never teach my sons that a woman is an afterthought. God doesn’t do things for doing sake. Anyway, he is a pastor, not God. I always sieve what I read and I take the good and leave the rest.”

Similarly, Ekaette Essien said, “I didn’t see any advice for men here. Making a successful home should not be a one-sided thing. It should not rest on the shoulder of only the women. A man who loves his wife will surely earn respect from such a wife.

“If you are a boss-type husband, surely rebellion awaits you. Let’s be real, please. Even God who created us does not act like a boss to us. He loves us; that’s why His children have to obey and respect Him.”

B-Red Opens Up on Alleged Beef with Davido, Mayorkun

B-Red-Davido-1

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Punch’s Sunday Scoop, Bayo Adeleke, aka B-Red, who is signed on with HKN Music label, and is also a cousin to multiple award-winning popstar, Davido, said he is happy at the pace of his growth.

Notwithstanding his average popularity in the industry, many music lovers have refused to acknowledge his talent. In fact, they are of the opinion that his days as an artiste are numbered.

Some music critics are disappointed that his career has not assumed a different dimension in spite of Davido and HKN’s influence. Despite the view of many, the heavily-tattooed musician says he is happy where he is.

“Knowing that God has a plan for everybody, I am comfortable with the unhurried pace. There was a time I didn’t have a car or a Rolex, but look at me now. Every year, I grow and I will get bigger, so I am not in a rush. I am okay and content,” he said.

B-Red who has also been accused of living under Davido’s shadow said there is no shame in leveraging on the star power of his cousin.

“In every group, you have a leader and I do not care about being number one as long as I am doing good, getting money and doing shows. Davido is number one and we follow but you never know, probably I’ll be as big as he is. If your cousin is a star, won’t you want to be a star too? I built my brand by hyping my cousin for four years and look at where I am now,” he said.

B-Red who is busy promoting his new EP released under HKN titled, “All The Way Up”, also denied leaving HKN. While rebutting the story, he confirmed he would be doing a collaboration with Mayorkun, whom many insinuated that he is envious of.

“There is no beef between me and Maryokun, we are hitting the studio soon and doing something together, I didn’t leave HKN and I am not leaving HKN. I even have the HKN tattooed on my body. My contract is very long. HKN is family and I am not leaving,” he stressed.

Acting Doesn’t Pay My Bills – Funke Adesiyan

funke

Popular Yoruba actress, Funke Adesiyan who is known for her luxurious lifestyle and contested in the last general elections at the Oyo State House of Assembly, in this new interview with Punch Spice, says acting doesn’t pay her bills but other things do. Here’s her discussion with Punch Spice….

Background

I’m from Ibadan, Oyo State but I grew up in Lagos. My family is a nuclear one even though I was surrounded by cousins, nephews and other relatives. I had a fun childhood and I was more of a tomboy. I played a lot of football and I am still in love with the game.

Acting

I started acting professionally in 2003. My first experience as an actor was a TV series by Wale Adenuga Productions. The first film I acted in was produced by me in 2006. It was my first, not because I didn’t get offers to partake in films produced by other people, but because I had the resources to produce my own film. Since the storyline was a beautiful one, I didn’t want to give it out to someone else. So far, I have produced three movies. The last one was in 2010. I then took a break to focus on my business.

Nollywood

I have also taken part in some English TV series. I did some with Segun Arinze and Paul Obazele. I’m limited to one part of the industry. Oftentimes, I’m not available and that’s why I haven’t starred in more English movies. It is not because I have been tagged a ‘Yoruba actress.’ In fact, a lot of people think Yoruba actresses don’t speak good English.

Politics

I love what I experienced and I’m still in politics. I decided to go to my hometown in Kudeti, Ibadan to impact lives. I contested for a seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly. Even though I didn’t win the election, I feel delighted that I won the love of the people.

Current project

Acting does not pay my bills and I try to be as real as possible. I’m working on my business which involves importing and selling of bathroom accessories. I do souvenirs and I am into animal husbandry. Very soon, I will add cash crops.

Marriage

I’m in a relationship and I’m happy in it. A lot of people are married and are not happy while some are single and are happy. People shouldn’t attach so much importance to marriage. Life is too short not to be happy. You don’t have to be married because the society expects you to.

“10 New Tricks Kidnappers Use To Lure Victims”

nappers

MOTUNRAYO JOEL writes about some of the methods kidnappers employ to trick their victims

Reports of kidnapping have become common in Nigeria. Though not a new trend, kidnappers have continued to devise new methods to lure victims. Below are some of the new tricks to watch out for:

1. Ploy at parties

In this method, a note is dubiously passed to the master of ceremonies requesting the owner of an identified vehicle to come out and move his or her vehicle to allow others parking access. Immediately the individual gets to his car, the kidnappers grab the person and zoom off in the car.

This was what happened to Mr. Remi Olakunri who was kidnapped at a party venue in Lagos some months ago.

Olakunri, who drove an SUV to the venue, heard his car’s number plate called out by the emcee, requesting him to step outside to move his vehicle. As Olakunri got to his car, three men grabbed him and forced him to drive off in his vehicle. Over N1m ransom was paid before his abductors released him.

2. Road blocks

The modus operandi of kidnappers includes mounting road blocks on highways in military uniforms and staging a surprise attack on unsuspecting motorists.

An All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Victor Olabimtan, was abducted by gunmen after he declared his interest to contest the state’s governorship election.

Olabimtan was on his way to Abuja when some persons in military attire, who dubiously manned a road block on the expressway kidnapped him.
