Reality TV star and influencer, Doyinsola David better known as Doyin, has recounted how she was betrayed by her bestfriend.

Doyin, who is a housemate in the ongoing Big Brother Naija All Stars show, revealed that her bestfriend snatched her boyfriend after constantly criticizing his looks.

She said her friend used to make fun of her boyfriend’s appearance due to his bad leg, which caused him to limp while walking.

However, she was taken by surprise when she found out that her friend had taken his phone number without her knowledge and started dating him.

According to her, the duo are still together till date and even have a child together.

“I have been betrayed before. I used to have a best friend, and we were very close. As a matter of fact, people used to refer to us as twins, because we even looked alike. At the time, I had a boyfriend, but she always discouraged me and told me that he was not good looking, because he had a bad leg and used to limp a little bit. She would always make jokes about his leg. At some point, I took her with me to visit him.

Somehow, they exchanged numbers and I did not find out. I was dating him and did not even realise that my best friend was also dating him. Till this day, they are still together. They actually have a son together, and I wish them well. But, at the same time, I felt betrayed. That really affected the way I trust people.”

An Octogenarian man, Gabriel Ahuwa, has been arrested for allegedly hacking his 75-year-old wife to death with a machete for refusing to sleep with him.

The 84-year-old man was one of the 198 suspects paraded on Wednesday, August 16, by the spokesperson of the Edo state police command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, for armed robbery, kidnapping, unlawful possession of firearms, murder, cultism, among other crimes.

The spokesperson revealed that the suspect had been having conflicts with his wife due to her refusal to have sex with him. He noted that the suspect shows no remorse and believes that killing his wife is the best solution to his problem.

Speaking with newsmen, Gabriel claimed that his wife had refused to get intimate with him for a long time but had been sleeping with other men.

“My wife is not listening to me, anytime I ask her to come and sleep with me, she always declines. We have seven children together, five boys and two girls,” he said.

He said he reported the issue to his children and one of their daughters came to talk to his wife, but she remained resolute in her decision not to sleep with him.

“I reported the matter to my family and her family too but she failed to listen to them and continued her old ways and I was hearing information that pastors were sleeping with her.

“Each time I demanded for sex, either she would tell me she was sick, or she had an ulcer yet I was hearing rumours that she was sleeping with other men and I don’t have money to carry prostitutes,”

He said his wife also poisoned the minds of his children and they stopped sending him money and picking his calls.

“So on Saturday last week in the afternoon in the house, I pick up a cutlass and macheted her all over her body. I did it in anger because she is not obeying me, and I want people to know of it,”

He, however, said he regrets murdering his wife.

One of his sons, who wished to remain anonymous, refuted the accusation of abandoning their father. He also revealed that they sent him money just five days before the incident.

Nollywood actress, Doris Ifeka, has explained how she managed to avoid being taken advantage of by a director in the early stage of her acting career.

The screen diva claimed that a filmmaker, whose name she opted not to reveal, expressed interest in collaborating but insisted on being paid first before offering her the part.

Ifeka said she informed him straight out that she didn’t have any money at the moment, and despite his increased pressure, she stuck to her guns, emphasizing that she was okay if he didn’t choose her for the role.

The actress revealed hat the producer eventually changed his mind as a result of her persistence, and he subsequently phoned her to offer her the part without requesting payment.

She argued in an interview that intimacy between actors and directors is not forbidden, but it should be mutual, not forced.

In her words;

“As an actress, it is almost certain that one would experience sexual harassment, because some producers would want to sleep with one before giving one any jobs. So, yes, I have experienced it.

I don’t have a problem with a producer liking an actress. If the feeling is mutual, no problem. What I have an issue with is a producer saying he must sleep with an actress before working with her.

I recall being in such a situation but I won’t mention the name of the person involved. I was still coming up in the industry then. A particular producer wanted us to work together, and he told me to pay him in exchange for a role.

The money the person was demanding for was not much, but I told him I did not have the money at that time. I also told him that if he did not want to work with me until I paid him, I was fine with that. I insisted, and he eventually called me back to play the role, without paying.”

The gifted vocalist credited his ability to find a middle ground and handle problems pertaining to his career for his spotless track record.

Chike underlined that anything has the potential to become controversial, but that how problems are resolved ultimately depends on the people involved.

Popular Yoruba actor, Femi Adebayo has spoken up about the additional effort he put into making his most recent film, Jagun Jagun.

He revealed in an interview that he sold his properties to get the money for the film since he didn’t want to ask for loans from businesses or people.

He acknowledged that Jagun Jagun is a multi-billion-naira enterprise, but he declined to say how much money he specifically invested in supporting it.

He admitted that his biggest nightmare is defeating Jagun Jagun in his upcoming endeavor.

When he completed King of Thieves, he was confident that he would surpass it with his subsequent endeavor, but this optimism has since faded.

In his words;

“Jagun Jagun is a multi-billion naira project and I can’t say the exact amount I spent on it on shooting.

I used the proceeds of Agbeshinkole to produce Jagun Jagun. I was working on not getting funded by finance houses and individuals. At a point, I was out of finance and because I had faith that the project would work, I sold my properties.

My worst nightmare is that I have to be at Jagun Jagun with my next production.”

Femi also spoke on how he built the warrior school from scratch. He said;

“We built from scratch the warrior school. We were forced with the challenge of purchasing that land, we wanted to own the land. And at a point, we had an agreement and paid for it, but the children of the owner of the land changed their minds about the land sale.

We have built the school halfway when the children who came from Lagos told us to stop. They were ready to destroy all that we built and that held us up for almost a week, going to the Police station and Obas appealing to them and we were told to only shoot there and not buy it.”

Speaking about his inspiration, he said;

“What inspired the story of Jagun Jagun is the youth and environment of Nigeria. I wanted to pass across a social message to the youths and wanted to do it culturally.”

Nigerian singer and former Mavin Records signee, Hadiza Blell, popularly known as Di’ja, has addressed rumors that she left Mavin Records due to some unknown disagreements.

Di’Ja joined Mavins Records in February 2014, debuting with her single “Yaro.” Throughout her time with the label, she collaborated with fellow Mavins artists on popular tracks such as “Dorobucci,” “Adaobi,” “Looku Looku,” and “Arise.”

Illegal adoption: Anambra Govt seals an orphanage home as founder and employees flee

The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare in Anambra State, Hon. Ify Obinabo, has taken decisive action by sealing off the Arrow of God Community Children’s Home in Onitsha due to allegations of engaging in illegal adoption and child sales.

The closure occurred on August 16, 2023, following the circulation of an investigative report by journalist Fisayo Soyombo on social media and local television outlets. This report implicated the state’s Ministry of Women and Social Welfare in an illegal adoption case, involving a baby girl from one of the registered homes in the state.

In response, Hon. Obinabo invited the home’s founder, Rev. D. C Ogo, to her office in Awka, but the invitation was not honored. Consequently, the Women Affairs commissioner collaborated with security operatives to take action against the orphanage, located at 33 Nkwelle, sealing it off.


Hon. Obinabo clarified that the ministry was unaware of any adoption carried out through Arrow of God Orphanage, emphasizing that the adoption process must involve her signature, the Head of Child Division, and the Permanent Secretary of the ministry.

She noted that all applications for court orders related to adoption or child care go through the designated Children, Sexual, and Gender-Based Violence Magistrate Court in Awka, as opposed to the Nnewi court order presented in the investigative report. The priority, she emphasized, is safeguarding the best interests of the child.

Warning other children’s home operators involved in illegal adoption, the Commissioner stressed that the state government intends to crack down on operators who deviate from standardized operational practices and processes. She cautioned prospective adoptive parents to be cautious, as individuals posing as ministry consultants are misleading unsuspecting individuals seeking to facilitate adoption.

Hon. Obinabo urged the public to report any suspicious activities within orphanages to the ministry. She assured that efforts will be made to bring Rev. DC Ogo to justice in due course.

As a result of the intervention, 20 children, including a newborn, were rescued from the orphanage. The children, aged 1 to 17 years, comprise 10 boys, 9 girls, and the newborn. They are now under the care of the state government, and steps are being taken to locate and reunite them with their respective families. The founder and her staff remain at large.

An elderly woman has refused to release her grandchild to the mother who abandoned him seven years ago and has now returned to seek custody.

The incident took place in a community in Abeokuta, Ogun state. It was gathered that the boy is the child of the woman’s deceased son.

Speaking in a video making rounds online, the woman revealed that seven years ago, her son’s wife told her she wanted to buy something and it was the last time she saw her, leaving her baby behind.

After seven years of singlehandedly raising the boy, his biological mother has just returned and wants to take him away.

The grandmother stated that she would not release the boy because he is the only family she has left, as she has lost her son and husband to the cold hands of death.

Giving her own account, the biological mother stated that she disappeared because she needed to hustle and didn’t want to die of hunger in her mother-in-law’s house.

She claimed she saw an opportunity to travel abroad in search of a better life, and took it. However, she is now married and wants to take custody of her son.

She also asked the grandmother to reveal the exact amount she has spent on the child’s care and education so that she could settle her and take her child, but the grandmother refused.

The secondary school student identified as @youallmeetrebecca on TikTok shared the her outfit and shocked netizens with the prices she paid for each item.

She claimed to have spent a total of N180,000 to attain her fascinating appearance during her high school graduation.

The SS3 student spent a total of N180,000 on her appearance, including N68,000 on her hair, N10,000 on her nails, N42,000 on her outfit, N15,000 on a bag, N15,000 on heels, N12,000 on makeup, and N18,000 on jewelry.

Woman apprehended after stealing her friend’s one-month-old baby

A 28-year-old woman, Adaeze Lawrence, has been  detained by the Abia State Police Command for snatching her friend’s one-month-and-two-day-old newborn boy.

According to reports, Onyinyechi Owujie, the mother of the child, trusted Lawrence and grew to like her before committing the crime.

The suspect, a hair stylist, was friends with Owujie’s older sister at school and used that connection to contact Owujie. She allegedly asked that they celebrate the baby’s birth and then fled with the child while they were doing so.

The crime was reported to the police, who then detained her in her hiding place, according to a statement from the state police’s public relations officer, ASP Chioma Chinaka.

According to the spokesperson, credible intelligence led to the suspect’s arrest on Monday, August 14, 2023.

The suspect first denied kidnapping the infant, insisting that he was hers, but after a medical examination confirmed that she was not the boy’s real mother, she confessed to the crime.

The statement read;

“On August 14, 2023, around 4pm, the Abia State Police Special Weapons and Tactics Team, Aba, received credible information and effectively apprehended one Adaeze Lawrence of Amaogbonna Road, off Osisikakwu Street in Aba.

She was found in possession of a baby boy who is one month and two days old. During interrogation, the accused confessed to abducting the child from Onyinyechi Owujie’s residence situated at 5, Cricke Road, off Nigeria Brewery, Aba.

Investigation revealed that the suspect and the baby’s mother’s elder sister were schoolmates. The suspect took advantage of this relationship to gain the baby’s mother’s trust.

The suspect, under the pretence of visiting her friend, requested to celebrate the new baby’s birth. On their celebration outing, she absconded with the baby.

Upon the suspect’s arrest, Adaeze Lawrence denied the crime, but medical examinations from the police clinic disproved her claims, leading to her confession. The child’s biological mother identified the baby, confirming the abduction on August 6, 2023.”

Chinaka recommended that the public be watchful of their children and be aware of their locations, especially while in a public place, and said that an investigation into the issue was still underway.

A while back, Angel and Ike were involved in a heated verbal confrontation over chicken today, August 14.

A Twitter user has taken to the microblogging platform to share his heartbreaking dilemma with his girlfriend as he curses poverty.

The man, identified as @INNO7979, revealed that his girlfriend is cheating on him but he can’t confront or break up with her because he lost his phone and is currently using her computer to study for an exam.

He shared his heart wrenching ordeal in response to a tweet that mentioned how poverty not only brings humility, but humiliates an individual.

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to lament after his feelings of love for his fiancée vanished suddenly.

The man resorted to Facebook to share his issue with internet users and stressed that he had been deeply in love with the woman in question.

However, with their impending nuptials, there has been a significant shift in emotion.

The troubled man admitted that he is hesitant to tell his fiancée that he is no longer in love with her since the wedding arrangements have already been set in motion and he doesn’t want to let anyone down.

The Enugu State Police Command have arrested three suspects: Obed Chekwube Ugwuanyi, also known as MC Sharp (male, 32 years old), Chinenye Agbo, known as Star Ella Ada (female, 26 years old), and Anastasia Onu (female, 26 years old), in connection with the assault of Chinenye.

This trio and others who are currently at large, were captured in a viral video in which Chinenye was subjected to inconceivable physical abuse.

Chinenye was beaten, stripped naked, and forcibly had her hair shaved off for allegedly attacking Anastasia, who is Obed’s girlfriend, and biting her chest in the process.

The video made rounds on social media and stirred public outrage and call for justice over the inhumane and degrading treatments meted out on Chinenye.

Suspects arrested

However, in a surprising new turn, the suspects are claiming that the incident was a prank meant to help them gain followers on social media.

A statement by the police spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, noted that;

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the trio are, however, claiming that the video, which has generated public outcry and condemnation due to the inconceivable assault, inhuman and degrading treatments meted out on Chinenye as seen in the video, is a prank and meant to garner followers on their social media accounts.

Ndukwe added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, while condemning the act, has ordered the State CID Enugu to thoroughly investigate and prosecute those found culpable, to serve as a deterrent to anyone who may want to perpetrate such an act under the guise of prank.

There is currently jubilation in Kenya as Chef Maliha Mohammed sets new world record for the longest home kitchen cooking marathon.

Chef Maliha achieved the remarkable feat on Tuesday, August 15, after cooking non-stop for a staggering 95 hours, surpassing the previous record held by American chef Rickey Lumpkin of California, who achieved a home cooking time of 68 hours, 30 minutes, and 1 second in December 2018.

The mother of two took to her Instagram page to excitedly announce her record-breaking feat after completing the cook-a-thon.

“Yes, we did it! New world record holder for the longest home kitchen cooking marathon in town 😎😎 Shukran for the support 💯,” she wrote.

The is one of the cooking records she plans to break as she had earlier declared her intention to also break the world record held by Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey Essien, also known as Hilda Baci.

The Nigerian chef and restauranteur is officially the record holder for the longest cooking time marathon with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

Contrary to reports flying around, Chef Maliha has not broken Hilda Baci’s cooking record yet. She has only set a new record for the longest home kitchen cooking marathon, and it has not been confirmed by Guinness World Record.
