Woman Flees After She Brutalized Her Young Stepchildren in Kaduna (Photos)

flees

A 2-year-old boy and four year-old girl were allegedly brutalized by their stepmother in NDC, Igabi local government area of Kaduna State. The children, Abdulrahman Abubakar and Maryam Abubakar are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kaduna.

According to Daily Trust, the stepmother identified as Hasiya broke Abdulrahman’s left hand, right leg and Maryam’s head at their father’s house.

The men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are searching for the woman who fled the house after security agencies came looking for her at their residence on Monday evening, August 22.

Mother of the children, Halima, who spoke to Daily Trust at the hospital on Tuesday, said she and her husband started having problem 12 days after her son was born which brought to an end, their three year old marriage.

“Initially, the children were living with me after we separated, but immediately I weaned my son, the father came and took the children away first to his parents’ house and then to his wife. On Monday, I was on my way to the market when I got a call from the father of my children that my son was on admission at the hospital. “I quickly rushed there and when I saw the condition my son was in, I was devastated. He could hardly breathe and he had bruises on his eye, his head, his stomach and his private part. The doctor told me that the fracture on my son’s hand and leg were two weeks old, and I learnt he was not able to walk and was taken to a traditional bonesetter who obviously had not been able to fix the fracture.

“My son is being treated for a broken hand, a broken leg and bruises on his eye, stomach, back and private part while my daughter is being treated for a broken head after their step mother used the sole of a pointed shoe to hit her head. They were also starved in the house because if you see the way they gulped down the tea my sister made for them. The people in the hospital can bear me witness.”

SCDC took the children’s father for interrogation and gave him 48 hours to bring the wife or face the wrath of the law.

Nollywood is Full of Beefing, Jealousy and Inferiority Complex People’ – Ebube Nwagbo Says

Actress Ebube Nwagbo in this interview with Rita of Golden pearl media talks about the rivalry in Nollywood, her private life and more, enjoy!

So far what would you say you have achieved this year?

Well, I can’t say I haven’t achieved much neither would I say I haven’t achieved anything, but so far the year has been good. I am alive and healthy for the past months.
I have done 60percent of them; in my business, career and personal life also. I am not going into detail but I know I have at least done something tangle this year.

You mentioned business, what kind of business do you do?

I have my hairline; Posh hair and I couple that with my acting career. It was same business that took me away from the screen for a while but am back on screen. I just needed time to focus on my hair line, take it to a standard then bounce back to the screen.

Why did you choose to go into hairline?

Yes, I have a business side of me. And I needed to invest my money into something that would always be there, something that I could fall back on when I eventually stops acting. Then a friend sold the idea of a hairline to me, I went for it. Started working on it, made contacts, travelled out to do studies and all that. I love looking good and I believed that for a lady to look good, she has to start with her hair. As at that time, the human hair was in so many vogues, so I capitalized on that as a kick off point.

It’s all about my love for looking good and need to invest my money into something tangible.

How accessible is Posh hair and how do one differentiate it from other brands of human hairs circulating in the market?

Well the Posh hair has my face; I am the face of my brand. The unique thing about it also is that we have specify distributors, but one can do also do business directly with me. Besides, I don’t think there’s another hairline called Posh. I registered it, so it’s totally mine.

Do you think that with time, you will add other products like make-ups or cloth line to Posh hair?

No, I don’t think so. I am not a fan of makeup. Dress line, no, because everybody is already into that. I don’t want to go into what everybody seems to be doing. Mine has to be totally different and trust me, it is. So for now, just Porsche hair, no plan to add other things but ‘never say never’, anything could come up tomorrow.

What would you say fame has deprived you of?

First and foremost, fame has really deprived me of my privacy, then secondly, in as much we can’t do without the press but they sometimes makes matters worse with their fake news. And people have so much trust and believe in the media, whatsoever they say about a person, they swallow it both hook line and sinker.

Then another thing I am fighting now is someone impersonating me so God knows how long. He or she does that on Black Berry, Facebook, everywhere. He goes about collecting money on my behalf. It has being going on for a while now, a d I am tired of talking about it. I just have to do what I have to do to put a stop to this madness. I am happy people out there appreciate what we do, but some other persons are also out there to tarnish the image that took you years to build. And you can’t start going from door to door to start explaining to everybody the true side of the story. So ironically, it is true the same media that published the news that you still have to use to reach out to people with your own angle to the whole story. It’s kind of funny, but what can we do.

Fame has a good side and a bad one. So with every other job; they have their own hazards. The price one has to pay to be who he or she wants to be. I like my job, in as much as it has its own down side, nothing is perfect.

How do you cope with the rumors and controversies trailing you?

I am not going to lie, it’s just crazy, especially when it’s not true but if am not famous, and who would want to talk about me. But we are all humans, most times these stories really weighs me down. It pains me more when journalist would carelessly go make stories public without hearing or confirming from the main source. They just write whatsoever they feel like, because they have the power. Anyways, it comes with the job of acting so one can’t run away from it.

Did you truly do a boobs job?

That was crazy news I read on the papers, I don’t know how they came about it. But I think there was this picture of me that my boobs were revealing and nice, I believe it invented the whole story. People just can’t believe you could naturally look so good, for real. Even my friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry believe it is true. Some gossip about it, some gist, some tweet, while those who have the courage ask me about it. And I keep on telling them it’s natural and God’s gift to me. I have never done any form of body enhancement.

And you don’t intend doing one in the nearest future?

Well for now, no. but like I used to say never say never. If the need arises in future I might but I don’t see any reason to do it now. Even if I did, I should be so proud to carry it around because it’s my money. I don’t condemn those who do it, if they could afford it why not.

What could the cause of so much rivalry amongst Nigerian nollywood stars, both male and female alike?

In a business where women dominate, what do you expect? Besides such beefs and challenges makes one want to work harder on yourself to be a top of them all. Keeps you focused and going. As for me, I don’t want to be like anybody am comfortable with who I am. The industry is a very large place, so I don’t see the reason we should be fighting ourselves. But is happens in any place you find humans, we are competitive in nature. It is just everywhere, not just nollywood.

Are you saying you haven’t being caught in such web of rivalry?

I don’t just have time for anybody. Beefing is all about jealous and inferiority complex. I am comfortable with who I am, I don’t imitate or want to be like anybody. Somebody out there wants to be in your shoes, so they do everything possible to bring you down. My advice to them is that being doesn’t pay, its better you work hard on yourself to be better.

So you are saying someone out there in nollywood is really beefing you?

It happens, it’s everywhere. Somebody out there, don’t even like the fact that you are alive and breathing. Couple with my business, I know a lot of people hates me for being who I am. But come to think of it, if everybody like you, then there’s something you are doing right. I don’t expect everybody to like me. Some are intimidates with who I am, I don’t care. As long as they don’t stand on my way. Everybody mustn’t like Ebube; it’s as simple as that.

Aside what the press and other people are saying about you, tell us who the real Ebube is inside out?

Ebube is just like a girl next door, in as much as I try to keep to myself, but the industry where I find myself is a complex one. I have friends and colleague I mix up with. I am easy going too but it takes some time to understand my kind of person. People out there thinks they know me too well, but they dint even know half of me. You have to be very close to me to know the real Ebube, because most times I camouflage just to create an impression. The real me is not what you see in TV or read on the papers , but I am also human; I have my moods, my bad sides, my flaws, etc. basically I am very simple person, a young girl that likes working hard and looking good, I love myself so much, same with my family. I love the good thing of life, so I work hard to get them. I wasn’t outspoken before but now I am. Ebube likes being happy and doesn’t like stress at all. I only stress myself when money is involved. (Smiles).

Talking about family, tell us about your background?

I am the eldest in the family of six. My parents were very strict so sometimes when I do what I do, I always remember where I am coming from. So people shouldn’t think I didn’t come from a decent home. I don’t forget the fact that I have younger ones that look up to me, then parents that took their time to train me in every aspect, so I wouldn’t want to hurt their feeling in any way. I am not perfect or a saint but I always remember where I am coming from.

How about your own personal family, what are your plans towards that?

It is always going to be at the right time, and don’t ask me the when is the right time (laughs). Am single but am not searching. Why would I. well, I am seeing somebody, but starting my own family I can’t say for now. But I will do that at the right time. I don’t like doing something and later jump out of it. I take my time to do whatsoever I want to do making sure it is the right decision. No rush!

Seems you are scared of marriage because of the countless cases of divorce in the industry?

(Loud laughter) my dear one has to be scared oh. Well, it is scary although no one goes into marriage believing she would soon jump out of it. I strongly believe that before a couple considers divorce, they must have put in their best to make it work, all to no avail. Trust me. Marriage in the limelight is not easy, even those outside it are not surviving easily. For me, before I take the decision, it just has to be right. I have learnt a lot from other people’s mistake and that has helped me a lot.

Being in a relation alone is not easy not to mention marriage, I just want to do it right to avoid regret. So I am trending carefully.

When that anticipated right time comes, would you want it to be a grand party, talk of the town, outside the shores of Nigeria, etc?

Well, I can’t say for now, it all depends. But my kind of person, I don’t like big parties. I just can’t say for now, anything could happen at that time. We both have to agree on what we want before going for it; either big or small.

What the secret behind your stunning looks at almost all events you honor?

I like looking good in what I am comfortable on, I go for what suits me. I don’t really go for trendy fashion wears. I know my flaws and work on them. I have made it compulsory that whenever I go for event, I must look good. And I must make a fashion statement; Ebube was here. I have some fashion no-no. If I have to wear something short, then short it is, like wise long. I can’t be caught in-between; neither can I be caught on a loose fitted gown. I know my figure and what suits it. And I don’t wear matchy-matchy things. I don’t do much of make-ups too.

Do you do alcohol?

Not really, I do but just socially. I take alcohol when you go for an event or the need calls for it.

How do you cope with sexual harassment?

I try as much I can to carry everybody along, but always try to let them know that I am for one person and would always be for one. Some come as fan some others as more than fans, but I appreciate them all. But sometimes, I just have to be rude to those who go pass the extreme. I try to let them know I am human and have feeling too. Even the ladies sometimes, they believe you must always be nice to them, pick their calls, be their best friends and all that, they just don’t understand how it goes. And explaining to them is another thing.

Aside the regular fans, there other notable men in the country that want to have a feel of what Ebube is like, how do you cope their demands?

I haven’t come across any those. Maybe they would want to but they haven’t seen a way to reach me. Or do our numbers fly in the air. Because my hairline is moving some gossips are saying there are lots of big men out there sponsoring me and all that, but I am not moved by their rumors. I just believe that I am good at what I do, that’s why all these things are happening. Porsche hair is owned and financially sponsored by me, so if anyone thinks or says otherwise, let he or she come out in the open and indicate.

Which of the scandals hit you so bad?

All of them did, because I am human. I have grown a tough skin towards scandals. I just wave some aside and react to others when it is necessary. Because if you keep being quite, they would assume it was all true.

How far would you go in flaunting your boobs or cleavages in movies?

In as much as I can’t act nude, I don’t even think people would like to see my naked pictures, but I can’t do well on such movies, but I have to flaunt what God gave me. Of course, it’s God’s gift so why would I flaunt it. No apologies to anyone.

Why did you decide to go for tattoos too?

I just like them; I have one on my hand and another at my back with name on it. I might decide to add another one on in the nearest future. I am particularly crazy about tattoos, but I just like them. I got mine in 2003 and it wasn’t so much in vogue then, so I wasn’t really following the trend. Some people see it as a sign of being a bad girl, but its part of the industry we find ourselves in. I would have to go for one last one, and then am done with tattoos.

Describe your kind of man

It is all about understanding. A typical African man hardly understands. Worse still with the kind of job I do and the day to day running of my business, I don’t know how many men would be ready to cope with that. Some believe actresses would make a bad wife and mother. Even the presses too are not helping celebrities in their relationships. Patience, understanding and love, not all man has all this. He has to be with you for the right reasons.

You Can Now Enjoy Air Conditioners in “Keke Napep” (Photos)

napep

The Popular tricycle known as ”Keke napep” is being upgraded by manufacturers.

Passengers can now enjoy the luxury of air conditioners while commuting from place to place.

The new ”Keke Napep” comes with bigger doors and are quite bigger than what we are used to.

We wonder if they would charge the same fares as the old ones.

We also hope that they do not overload it with passengers like they do with the former. At least passengers can get a breath of fresh air…

Law School Student Writes About The Death Of Rivers’ State’s Chief Judge’s Son

unnamed (3)

Wariebi Abiri, the son of the Chief Judge of the state, Kate Abiri (pictured above), died while swimming in a pool in Abuja on Friday August 19th. Wariebi was a law student at the Nigerian Law School Abuja.

A student that witnessed the tragic incident has now blogged about it.

He shared his story which he titled ‘From helper to suspect in a homicide case. 96 hours in hell’ which he shared medium.com/@Ruud_bishop.

Friday 19th of August 2016 changed my life totally. I had an experience that I never imagined possible.

Students of the Nigerian Law School in Bar Part I, have just finished lectures for the year and different people felt the need to gather and celebrate this.

The events that followed are better imagined than being the reality of anyone. I arrived the venue, a hotel across the Law School, at about 8pm and met a few students having drinks and food around the premises. I went into a friend’s room to rest and charge my phone.

A while later, I came down to speak to a few people and exchange pleasantries. People were dancing and discussing in small groups. The whole thing started winding down at about 11:30pm, as most people had to return to the law school premises before the 12am curfew.

Most people who remained in the premises were chatting close to the gate and watching some people play games of table tennis close to the gate. At about 2am or so, there was a loud scream that someone was in the pool. Everyone turned and was wondering why anyone was in the pool at that time. The scream came again and indicated the person was drowning. There was commotion and everyone ran towards the pool.

Two students went into the pool and brought out the person. A few people tried to administer CPR including mouth to mouth. I was shouting to get him to a hospital.

A friend brought out her car to take him to the hospital, but the hotel management said to take him in their vehicle. In the midst of all the confusion that followed, some of us realised we didn’t know who was in the bus with the victim and we should drive behind them to the hospital.

We got to the hospital, General Hospital, Bwari, where we met the doctors administering CPR, removing water from his system and trying to resuscitate him. We gathered outside to pray. At some point, the doctor asked for the closest person to him and his roommate stepped forward, the doctor then pronounced him dead and said he was (BID) brought in dead. Some of the students present, requested to transfer him to a private hospital.

At this point, the doctor called some of us aside and explained the standard medical steps and procedures that had been taken to resuscitate the victim and why he concluded he was dead. He advised that the police be informed and his body transferred to a morgue. It was at this point I pulled his roommate aside and asked for the name of the victim. He said his name is Wariebi. I mentioned I had never met the victim or interacted with him, but it was sad that this had happened. I tried to console him, but I broke down myself.

We agreed to inform the Nigerian Law School in the morning and they would inform his parents.

We made payment for the card and other things in the hospital. I was consoling the female students present and had to get them back to their accommodation. I asked some of the students to inform the police and the doctor to arrange for him to be deposited in a morgue. I followed the ladies back to the hotel, where they stay. We had to inform other students present.

Hours went by and we were told that the Police needed us to come and write down what happened as witnesses. We all willingly got dressed, got in a bus provided by the hotel and went to Bwari Police Station for what was to be a routine statement by witnesses of such a tragic event. Myself and two other colleagues made statements of what we witnessed and also met his roommate and other people who had assisted to get him to the hospital making statements as well. We all made statements and thought to leave, only for the Investigating Police Officer to inform us that we were all being detained as suspects in a case of ‘Suspected Culpable Homicide’.

Everyone was shocked and thought he must be joking. We are all law students, with knowledge of the law and we had only helped a colleague in distress. To then hear the words Suspect, Culpable and Homicide sounded very outrageous to us all. We were all worried and tried to contact authorities of the Nigerian Law School.

We were ‘processed’ and transferred to a cell. Word had gotten out and the authorities of the Law School came and paid us a visit. After listening to our side of events, they apologised that we were being held for helping a colleague and promised they will help to get us all out.

They repeated the visit later in the day and said investigators were working to get to the bottom of this and to get us out. The Director General of the Law School, Dr. Onadeko (SAN) visited us later in the evening and said he would be in touch and would ensure we weren’t treated as other ‘suspects’.

At this point I objected to him referring to us as suspects and also asked him if that was the official position of the Nigerian Law School? Were we being seen as suspects rather than a group of law students who helped a colleague in distress? It was in the middle of our interaction with the DG that I heard the victim’s full name for the first time. The DG said his name is Wariebi Abiri and that his mother is the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State and a friend of his.

We were returned to the cell and we later discovered that the police had granted bail to the General Manager of the hotel and a member of his staff. We demanded to know why we were being kept and the hotel management was being let off the hook. Same hotel that had no safety measures to prevent such an incident? Same hotel that had no lifeguard around an open pool? No answers were provided.

This dragged for 48 hours before we were eventually granted bail on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command. We were asked to report to the station daily until investigation was completed.

We reported to the station on Monday and were transferred to the State CID. A case of helping a colleague was really snowballing into a real homicide case and we found ourselves as the suspects.

I must state that the professionalism of the officers of the Homicide dept at the FCT CID saved the day. They berated the investigating officer from the local station for even bringing us there. We made fresh statements and have now become witnesses in a case of negligence. Truth be said, a few high level calls were made to ruin/save the day. The IGP and CP FCT remained very professional and helpful.

One has been granted some respite, albeit temporarily and can’t even thank God enough. Can’t thank all the friends and family members who came through and who made sure one didn’t suffer for being a Good Samaritan. Your prayers and all saw us through this harrowing ordeal.
It is important to understand how facts are not sacrosanct around here. I saw some of the most horrible twists and turns in my life in just 48 hours. I saw lives being toyed with, for political gains.

We thank God that a few things were done right by a few professional officers and innocent people were saved such a nasty experience. I saw a different side of the Nigerian Police Force. Competent and incompetent ones, but I genuinely believe the competent ones are at the top. I live in a country that can be stranger than fiction sometimes. I now understand why people are genuinely afraid to help others in need. No one wants to become a suspect for rendering help.

Really grateful to be here telling this as a story and an experience. It could have gone a totally different way. Let me now get to processing the fact that I lost a colleague and was one of those that saw him dead. No one remembered that in all of this madness.

P.S: Ignore all the grammatical errors. My head is still all over the place, but I thought to share this. Thanks for reading my epistle.

‘My Rio 2016 Olympic Diary’ – Mikel Obi Writes Emotional Piece on Winning Bronze & Returning to Chelsea

mikel-john-obi-nigeria-bronze-1

mikel-john-obi-nigeria-bronze-2

When I woke up in my hotel room on Sunday morning, I opened my eyes to see my Olympic bronze medal lying there beside me. It just hammered home to me what I had achieved with the rest of my Nigeria team-mates the day before.

We beat Honduras 3-2 to get the bronze and secure Nigeria’s first Olympics medal in any sport since 2008. All of us went into the game knowing this and it put extra pressure on the squad to perform.

The team actually played very well for the most part. We controlled the game, I created three goals to put us 3-0 up and it was all very comfortable. But we conceded two late on and all of a sudden it looked like everything was going downhill. They made us sweat a bit and we were relieved to come out victorious.

I was obviously very clear before travelling to Brazil that my target was the gold medal. But to get the bronze is still an amazing achievement. There was a celebration at the hotel afterwards, we were all jumping around. Everyone was so excited.

But we managed to get everyone to sit down together and have a team meal. After everything we have been through, it was great to have something to show for it and we all thanked each other.

I went to sleep last night with my medal beside me; I couldn’t and didn’t want to let it out of my sight. It really is a dream come true for me, for my family, my two little angels – my twin baby girls – my wonderful girlfriend, who has supported me all the way.

mikel-john-obi-nigeria-bronze-3

mikel-john-obi-nigeria-bronze-4

I might take the medal to the Chelsea training ground to show to the other players – I hope I don’t make them jealous though! But first off all I want to celebrate with my family, put it around my daughters’ neck, take pictures and make sure they get to see what daddy achieved.

This experience has given me the hunger to do it again at the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020. I will be only 33 then and my game will still be at a high level.

I enjoyed every minute of being in Brazil and I have been talking to the other guys about playing in another Olympics. I’m already looking forward to it and the countdown is on!

It’s also provided me with a nice lift as I return to Chelsea. I will go back to see the manager [Antonio Conte] and see what his plans are for me. I want to get back into training and prove myself. I want to play and help the team to win games.

I know it will be difficult because I have missed most of pre-season and the coach has a new way of playing. But it is a positive thing for me that I have been playing well out here in Brazil and I’m in good shape.

I will need a few days off first because this tournament has been so draining. I arrive back in London on Wednesday morning and the game against Burnley on Saturday will come too early to feature in.

The plan is to have a little break, which is why the timing couldn’t be better as the season stops for two weeks for international fixtures after the Burnley game anyway.

It will give me plenty of time to enjoy my bronze medal and reflect on what has been a magical few weeks in my football career.

50 Year Old VGC Woman Murdered By Gateman Over Salary.

Nigeria-police-logo1

Indications emerged, yesterday, that the 50-year-old businesswoman, whose discomposing body was found in her apartment last week at the Victoria Garden City, VGC, was allegedly murdered by her gate man, following an argument over the latter’s salary.

Vanguard was informed reliably, that the deceased, Mabel Okafor, who lived alone in her palatial duplex at House J68B, Close 9, VGC, Ajah, had no domestic worker except the gate man.

The gate man, with an undisclosed identity, was said to have resumed work about two months ago. He was reportedly brought by the deceased’s former gate man.

When Vanguard visited the house yesterday, security was beefed up in the area, with residents refusing to speak to this reporter. However, a resident who did not want his name in print, said:

“Nobody knew that the woman was dead until last Friday. We learned that she was stabbed last Wednesday, but it was not until her church members visited on Friday that they found her decomposing body.

The gate of the building was only bolted, but not locked when the church members came. One of them said they became apprehensive after several calls to her mobile telephone indicated that her line was switched off, prompting them to pay her a visit, only to be welcome with a stench from her room.

“Her body was found on the floor of the sitting room downstairs, with a knife protruding out of her stomach.

After her death, some gate men from the suspected culprit’s ethnic group said he had boasted that he would leave an indelible mark on her madam, following argument over increase in his salary.

They said he claimed he was being paid N20,000 but demanded for an increase of N10,000 but the woman refused. The fleeing gate man was quoted by some gate men here to have argued that he usually washed his madam’s car and also swept the compound.”

Another resident, who simply gave his name as Goke, said:

“Police have not been able to get the gate man since the incident occurred, neither have they been able to reach the one that brought him. In fact, the gate man went away with her phone. We have been warned several times to employ private guards from registered security companies, but some landlords here do not heed the advice.

Had the fleeing gate man been employed from a registered company, it would have been easy for police to get him. How can one who owned a property worth about N300 million not be able to employ the services of a registered security agents, but chose to go for cheap labour?”

3 Day Old Baby Stolen From Hospital Rescued By Imo State Police. (Photo)

stolen baby

On Monday, August 22nd, the Imo state police command, rescued a 3-day old baby which was stolen by unknown child thieves barely 48-hours after his birth at the Chukwunonso Maternity in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area.

While reuniting the baby with his parents, Mr and Mrs Oluebube Ekwedike from Umuezealaowerre Ehime Mbano LGA, at the command headquarters in Owerri on Monday, the Imo State Police Commissioner, Taiwo Lakanu, said that after the issue was reported to the police, the men of the command swung into action and arrested two suspects who were at the brink of selling off the baby.

The baby’s 21-year-old mother mother, Uchechi Ekwedike said she was tricked by the culprits in order to steal her baby.

The Commissioner said child stealing and trafficking still persist despite numerous warnings to people to desist from the devious act.

“My team, the entire Imo State Police Command, will not rest on its oars to ensure that criminal offenses are brought to its barest minimum in the state. It is so unfortunate that such barbaric behaviour still exists amongst our people. .
.
But the arrest of these ones should serve as a deterrent to other child thieves across the state and to make them realise that no matter how smart they are, the hands of the law will catch up with them.” he said.

While speaking to reporters, the prime suspect Mrs Ngozi Anyanwu, claimed that she stole the baby because the owner of the maternity home was owing her some amount of money.

OH. MY. GOD! Doctors Remove 40 Sharp Knives From Patient’s Stomach. (Photos)

swallowed knivess2

A man in India had two months swallowing knives and had 40 of them surgically removed from his stomach, according to the doctor who led the operation, Dr. Jatinder Malhotra told CNN.

“He had a wild urge to consume metal. Even for us, the experienced surgeons, it was frightening,”We were so nervous… a small mistake could have taken the patient’s life.
In my 20 years of practice, I have never seen anything like it.”He [the patient] says he swallowed some knives folded, and some unfolded. When we took out the knives, some were found folded, some were open, and some had even started rusting and were broken,” Malhotra said.

The patient, a 42-year-old father of two, told CNN he’s feeling much better.

“I’m sorry I let my family down. I’ll be forever thankful to doctors and hospital staff for saving my life,”I don’t know why I used to swallow knives,” the patient told CNN. “I just enjoyed its taste and I was addicted … how people get addicted to alcohol and other things, my situation was similar.” “I will never do such acts ever again,” the patient said. “I’m a new person now.”

Malhotra says the patient is now “out of danger” and is set to be discharged in a couple of days. He won’t be discharged until he’s cleared by psychiatrists, which is set to happen in a couple of days, two doctors at the hospital told CNN.

Malhotra believes the patient has a very rare mental disorder that most likely has not been published in any international medical journal.

The patient is currently under the continuous supervision of the hospital’s in-house psychiatric team and will soon be visited by independent mental health experts, doctors said.

The patient told doctors that he has no idea why he started eating knives but that he “developed a taste for metal” and “loved the way blades tasted.”

The patient even managed to keep his habit secret from his family, according to Malhotra.

Bishop Obinim’s Gospel Singer Wife Defends Him Over Flogging Of Teenagers, says “God Used Him To Expose The Two”

obinim-and-wife

Florence Obinim, wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim has defended her her husband for flogging two teenage members of his church for alleged fornication and attempted abortion.

In a video uploaded on Youtube, the gospel musician said had God not revealed to her husband that the two were planning an abortion, her family would have been ridiculed if the abortion had gone awry. She thanked God for using her husband to expose the two.

“Obinim has allowed himself to be used by God. As a mother, I didn’t even know my child was pregnant. If not for Angel Obinim whom God has gifted with visions, this would have been disastrous,” she said.

Mrs Obinim also used the opportunity to rubbish suggestions that her husband owed her an apology for allegedly reprimanding her in front of the congregation.

According to a controversial counselor, George Lutterodt, Bishop Obinim disrespected his wife and painted her in a bad light with the public reprimand.

However, Florence Obinim said the only time Bishop Obinim would chastise her in public is when God is at work.

“My husband has never reprimanded me in public. I have known my husband for years and he calls me honey and never by my first name Florence. So if he calls me Florence in public, then it is not him speaking but God at work. If he had reprimanded me by saying “honey” then I would have known that was my husband speaking,”

She continued: –

“At that time, the “Angel” was at work and so it’s not about husband and wife matters else God will disgrace you. So when he rebuked me, I knew it was God speaking. My husband has not wronged me in anyway so if you are asking that my husband apologises to me then it’s as though asking my father Jesus to apologise to me,”

Zachary Kills roommate
Zachary Kills roommatee

This 21-year-old Zachary Penton, has been apprehended for shooting and killing his roommate after a fight, two days after tweeting about it – Authorities say a fight led to one roommate shooting another at a home near Chandler Heights and Higley roads.

Officers say 21-year-old Zachary Penton called police and told them he shot his roommate, 41-year-old Daniel Garofalo, after some sort of altercation.

Garofalo was pronounced deceased on scene. Penton was taken into custody without incident. He is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Just two days before the murder, Penton appears to have posted a threat on a social media account connected to his name.

“I need to move out of my place before I viciously murder my roommates”

Gilbert police said while they cannot confirm the account is Penton’s, they “are looking into the possibility.” Bond was set at $750,000 for Penton at his initial court appearance Monday after being booked on a murder charge.

Penton told police he scuffled with Garofalo after being told to move out and he feared for his safety before shooting him.

Tragic! 8 Year Old Boy Killed After Grenade Was Thrown Inside His Bedroom.

Yusuf

An eight-year-old British boy was killed after a hand grenade was thrown into his bedroom as part of an underworld feud involving members of a Somali crime gang in Sweden.

Yuusuf Warsame, from Birmingham, was sleeping in the apartment in the working class Biskops garden in Gothenburg when the explosive was tossed through the window and detonated.

Investigating police believe the house was targeted as part of a feud involving members of the Somali underworld. His father Abdiwahid Warsame today confirmed his son, who was visiting relatives in Sweden, had died in the attack, which is being treated as a murder.

Paying tribute to his son he said:

‘He was a lovely boy, a beautiful child. He was so well liked at school and really worked on his education.
‘He wanted to do well in life and not make bad decisions.
‘He was so well behaved, if he saw someone dropping rubbish in the street he couldn’t understand it. He would say: ‘Why are they doing that?’
‘He loved swimming, he was the strongest swimmer. He didn’t like football, swimming was his sport. He loved to play tennis as well.
‘He was just on holiday with his mum and his two brothers.
‘We don’t know why it happened yet, we are waiting for more information.
‘I will be flying out there to find out what has happened. ‘He was just a normal boy with his education ahead of him.’

Yusuf1

The father-of-seven said two other people were injured in the blast. Yuusuf was born in Birmingham and went to Nelson Mandela Primary School in Sparkhill.

His parents, who have Dutch passports, and moved to the UK in 2001 own the Tawfiq Halal Meat and Grocery Shop in the city’s Whitmore Road.

There were at least five children and a number of adults in the apartment when the device exploded. But another family member said:

‘The room Yuusuf was in when the attack happened, was also occupied by our mother, sister and youngest brother.

‘It is a miracle none of them were badly injured, they only sustained minor injuries.’

A police spokesman said: ‘One of the people registered at this address is a person convicted by a district court for murder.’

The murder and last night’s attack are both believed to be part of an ongoing feud involving members of the Somali community.

I Got the Info on How to Kill My Girlfriend Through Google – Student Confesses of Stabbing Pregnant Lover

Ade-suspect-1

19-year-old Ade (surname withheld), a 100 level student in one of the universities in the South West Nigeria, who recently made wrong use of Google when he used it to search on what he could do to a girlfriend who refused to abort a 2-month-old pregnancy she had for him, is currently in police net at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Oyo State Police Command, over an alleged murder attempt.

The teenage undergraduate after the search on Google, reportedly got a knife, went to his girlfriend’s house and stabbed her twice on the stomach and also slashed her throat on Thursday, August 11, at the residence of his girlfriend’s parents at the Sango-Alaro area of Ibadan at about 2:30p.m.

Speaking to Crime Reports during an interview, the suspect disclosed that he got the clue on how to resolve the issue of his unwanted pregnancy through the help of Google.

“I met my girlfriend about two months ago on Facebook. We had a mutual friend and I added her. She accepted my request and we got to know each other. I proposed a relationship to her and she accepted. We had sex only once on July 4. I did not protect myself.

“On August 10, she told me that she was pregnant. The next morning, on Thursday August 11, she called me that her parents wanted to see me. I went to her parents at Alaro area of Ibadan and they wanted to know what my intention was on the pregnancy. I suggested that she had an abortion but they said they could not abort for their daughter because it was against their belief. I told them that I would get back to them on Monday, August 15.

“I left for home confused, but on the way home, different thoughts went through my mind because I didn’t want my parents to know. I didn’t want to disappoint them. I was with my phone at home and I picked it and typed “What to do if my girlfriend does not want to have an abortion on Google”. It brought out different options that I can deny, which I didn’t deny.

“Another option was to convince her to have an abortion, which did not work. There were also other options but the last one was that I could kill her. I chose that option because she was the only one who knew my house and I believed that if I killed her, no one would be able to trace my house and I would get away with my action.

“To kill, Google gave me an option to use poison, which I knew no pharmacy would sell to me. Other options were to use a gun or a knife. Knife was easy to get, so I went to the market same day to buy a knife and returned to her house. I did not meet her at home so I called her and waited for her. When she came in, I attacked her with the knife but she was resisting. I stabbed her on the right and left sides of her stomach and slashed her throat.

“Unfortunately for me, her screams got to a neighbour and he came in. Coincidentally, he is a policeman so he handcuffed me and I was arrested. It was the fear of disappointing my parents that made me take the action,” he said.

It was learnt that for the presence of a policeman identified as Sergeant Ayeni Oluwafemi, who was the girl’s neighbour and who heard her cry, the 19-year-old victim would have died in a pool of her blood while his assailant would have escaped.

Man Breaks Into Shoprite’s Cash Room in Abuja…See What Happened Next

abuja-shoprite

A 30-year-old man identified as Hassan Jamilu, who was paraded at a Gudu Upper Area Court sitting in Abuja on Monday, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for breaking into Shoprite’s cash room and attempting to break the safe.

Alhaji Umar Kagarko, who is the court judge, gave Jamilu an option of fine in the sum of N30,000 and warned him to desist from committing crimes, adding that the plaintiff, as a private organisation should file a civil matter for compensation.

The suspect was earlier arraigned on a three-count charge of criminal trespass, shop breaking and attempt to commit an offence of theft.

The Prosecutor, Patrick Ebong, had told the court that one Harrison Jatau of Pavilion Security Limited, Shoprite mall, Apo, Abuja, reported the matter at the Apo Police Station on April 25.

He said Jamilu criminally trespassed into the said mall through the backyard, climbed the fence to the roof top and broke into the ceiling. He said the convict used a robe and dropped down into the cash room of the mall and attempted to break the safe.

Vanguard reported that the security alarm blew and the convict narrowly escaped and was eventually caught and arrested by the police on Aug. 15, after he was also captured by the CCTV installed within the rooms of the mall.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 348, 355 and 95 of the Penal Code. He also said the convict was arrested with pliers, scissors, two screw drivers, one flame mate burner and its gas, rain coat robe and an umbrella.

Jamilu pleaded guilty and asked for leniency.
