Nigerian comedian and actor, AY Makun, has taken to social media to appreciate the support Nigerians have shown him and his family since the fire broke out at his Lekki home last weekend.

His house was destroyed by the fire, which also severely damaged many of his possessions.

Taking to his Instagram page today, AY stated that God never removes anything from a person’s life without substituting something greater.

He also expressed his love and appreciation for his wife, Mabel, in the post.

Posting their photos, he wrote;

“Pain can be temporary when you find yourself with the right partner to journey with. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place.

She said she feels more energetic and doesn’t have as many cravings as she did while pregnant with her son, but she has been feeling nauseous.

Nigerian Twitter commentator, Daniel Regha, has heavily condemned Nigerian comedian, Josh2funny, for his performance on the America’s Got Talent show.

Josh2funny, whose real name is Josh Alfred, has been trending across various social media platforms following his audition on the international show in pursuit of a $1,000,000 prize on Tuesday, August 8.

The comedian, known for his fake audition videos where he ‘speed-reads’ and plays other amusing roles, presented a similar routine on the America’s Got Talent stage.

However, his performance failed to resonate with the judges – Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofa Vergara, and Howie Mande – as well as the audience, leading to unanimous rejections.

Undeterred by the rejections, Josh returned on stage two more times wearing different costumes to change his appearance and audition again.

On his last attempt, he managed to win the hearts of the audience and ultimately secured four ‘YES’es from Simon Cowell, who spoke on behalf of the other judges.

Daniel Regha heavily criticizes

The video has generated a significant buzz online, with many applauding Josh for gracing the international stage, while others shared their thoughts on his performance.

One of the critics of Josh’s performance is controversial Twitter personality, Daniel Regha, who lambasted him for wasting the judges’ and audience’s time.

Daniel Regha also rebuked Josh for misusing the opportunity to deliver a genuine, exceptional performance on the show, stating that many would fight for a chance to audition on America’s Got Talent.

Popular Nigerian actor, Joseph Benjamin has revealed that after moving to America, he started working as a taxi driver.

He recalled how he was stranded when he traveled from Nigeria to the United States in an effort to break into Hollywood after being offered movie jobs.

Benjamin, who appeared on the most recent edition of Teju Babyface’s comedy podcast, King of Talks, said he was let down by someone and had to turn to the taxi industry to support himself.

The 46-year-old actor said that the guy who took him to America informed him that the investors had backed out, leaving him stranded because he had only purchased a one-way ticket.

He said;

“I got to America on a promise that I had some gigs waiting for me. So I thought I was going to have a soft landing there. I packed up everything from Nigeria, bought a one-way ticket, and came to America.

I was put in a well-furnished house and all of that. Then two days later, the person who I was supposed to book a deal with said to me, ‘Those our financiers have pulled out. They have an issue.’ So, I said, what do I do? He was like, ‘From next month on, you will have to start paying rent in this house.’ The amount of the one-month rent was equivalent to a one-year rent in Nigeria.

I’m like, ‘I’m not earning any money so what do I do?’ I don’t know what to do. So, shot into that life, I had to figure out what to do. I had nowhere to go. Nothing to turn to. My phone was buzzing, like, ‘When are you coming back to Nigeria? We have this gig for you.’ Teju, $1,500 was all I came to America with. How do I buy a ticket to go back to Nigeria?

My life pattern then was so disorganized in the sense that I didn’t have a proper saving culture. With all the money I was making in Nigeria, my life was a m*ss. I sold my cars and gave out like 90 per cent of all my belongings in Nigeria. I was like, I’m going to America to live a good life and all of that stuff. How do I buy a ticket to go back to Nigeria? Lord, what do I do? And God said to me that ‘Welcome to the life that I arranged for you. I needed to break you away from your comfort zone so that I can build you.’

I was like, ‘No, no, no …’ He was like, ‘Yes, welcome to it. So, here you are, no way to earn a living. How do you move forward?’ Then, sometimes I will be in my room crying. I’m like, ‘Lord where do I go from here?’ And for some reason every month I get to pay the rent. I got connected to my church. And then someone gave me a car. I’m like, what do I do with the car? And they said Uber. I was driving for Uber and Lyft to pay my bills.”

Popular Nigerian comedian, Josh2Funny, has carried his comedic performance to an international stage as he auditions at the America’s Got Talent.

The content creator flew over to the US to give an audition for a chance to win $1,000,000, which is the prize money awarded to the winner of AGT.

Josh2Funny gave a three-stage performance; however, he was regrettably rejected from the beginning by the judges, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofa Vergara, and Howie Mande.

His first on-stage appearance was as a quick reader who could get through three books in under a minute. Josh read the books while only murmuring the words, which did not impress the four reviewers.

They sent him off stage after refusing to let him advance to the next round. He didn’t give up though; instead, he did something they never expected: he returned wearing different clothes and going by a different identity.

The ‘fastest rapper in the world’ known as J Hush was Josh2Funny’s second act, and all he did was mutter his lines like he was speed reading. He received a No from Simon, Heidi, and the other two and was sent away.

He came back the third time on the same day as a magician identified as Terrifying Jay. The comedian attempted to do magic using a deck of cards, but Howie gave him a no buzzer before he started.

He then pulled off a mind trick on the presenter, Terry Crews, which impressed Simon Cowell, who on behalf of the other judges handed him a ticket to the next round.

The judges argued that they were unimpressed, so he chose to channel quick rapping, which caused the audience to give him a standing ovation and cheer him loudly.

Citing an example, the man asserted that men readily come to their wives’ rescue when their car breaks down on the road regardless of the location and time, so women shouldn’t make excuses not to cook for their husbands.

Fast-rising Nigerian singer Charles Chibuezechukwu, popularly known as Crayon, has disclosed that he was accommodated by his colleague and labelmate Rema for two years prior to his rise to fame.

Following his signing to Blowtime Entertainment, an imprint of Mavin Records, in May 2019, Crayon’s career soared.

Rema and Crayon are both artists with Mavin Records, and the two have worked on a number of tracks together.

The “Ijo Labalaba” crooner revealed in a recent interview with MTV Base Africa that Rema was significant to his successful career.

Evicted BBNaija ‘All Stars’ housemate, Princess Onyejekwe has revealed why she was exceptionally quiet and calm during her stay in the Big Brother house.

Princess, who is the first housemate to be evicted from the reality show, left the house on Sunday, August 6, after the jury unanimously voted for her to leave the house.

Taking to social media, she reacted to rumors that she was evicted from the show for being too “quiet” and failing to provide viewers with the necessary “action” that is making other housemates trend on social media.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has disclosed in a distress message that he and his boys were beaten up at an unspecified Lekki area.

In a widely circulated video, the singer can be heard venting his rage and revealing that his artist was attacked in Lekki and suffered injuries, including a broken eye.

He admitted that when the event happened, they were in Lekki shopping for clothing.

“First of all, I am glad to finally finish school after six years, even though it was supposed to be four years. And life after school has been almost the same because in truth I am just coming out of it, I can’t really say much about what is going to be right now. It is a long story; I wish I could speak more about this privately. Being Jide Kosoko’s daughter has had negative and positive side effects on me and my career. Mother drags son to court for stealing family properties

A 30-year-old man, Tum Joseph, has been accused of stealing certain domestic and home articles from his mother and was charged before an Upper Customary Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

Three counts of criminal intimidation, causing a disturbance of the peace, and stealing were brought against Joseph when he appeared before the presiding judge, George Gwani, on Tuesday.

Bridget, the defendant’s mother, who resides in Ungwan Fari, Kafanchan, reported the incident to the Kafanchan Divisional Police Station on July 7, as stated by the prosecution’s attorney, Esther Bishen, who testified in court.

According to Bishen, the complainant was taking care of her hospitalized husband when she learned that her son had taken certain belongings out of the house.

One mattress, two canisters of herbicide chemicals, ten yards of wrapping paper, and some of her husband’s clothing were among the things she identified as having been taken. During an inquiry, the defendant’s mattress was located.

The defendant also disparages and calls his mother names, the prosecution continued. According to her, the offense violates the terms of sections 378, 76, and 270 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law. However, Joseph entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.

In order to allow the police to summon witnesses to support its case, the prosecution asked the court for an adjournment.

Justice Gwani, who delivered the verdict, gave the defendant bail in the amount of N20,000 and a surety in the same amount, who had to be his uncle. He put the proceedings on hold until September.

The recent graduate, known by his TikTok handle @cee_jay__2, posted a video showing his father surprising him with these extravagant gifts for graduating with a first-class degree and being the top student in his school.

In the viral video, the father is seen driving the jeep to their home to surprise his son. He also instructed his wife and other child to blindfold the graduate and lead him outside the house.

When the blindfold was removed, the son was overwhelmed with joy at the sight of the vehicle and started jumping up and down in excitement.

As if that was not enough, the father handed his son a cheque of N500,000 to celebrate his outstanding performance in school. His mother also gave him bundles of N1,000 notes to celebrate his achievement.

The video has triggered a wave of congratulatory messages on social media, even though the young man claims the whole thing was staged.

A Nigerian man, identified simply as Neo, has stated that a woman must cook for her husband no matter the time, even if it’s midnight.

Neo stated this in response to a Twitter user who asked if it’s appropriate for a man to demand pounded yam and egusi soup after returning home at 1am.

According to Neo, it’s acceptable because marriage is commitment and couples are entitled to make demands that will discomfort each other.

Citing an example, the man asserted that men readily come to their wives’ rescue when their car breaks down on the road regardless of the location and time, so women shouldn’t make excuses not to cook for their husbands.

He tweeted,

“She MUST cook it for him. If the same wife can have her car break down anywhere, she abandons the car there then calls her husband to come pick it up and fix it, and he does exactly that, the man is also entitled to make demands that will discomfort her. Marriage is COMMITMENT,” he wrote.

Sensational Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, better known as Simi, has shared how her eyesight got worse after having a baby three years ago.

It will be recalled that the ‘Duduke’ crooner and her singer husband, Adekunle Gold, welcomed their first child, Adejare, in May 2020.

In a recent video posted on social media, Simi revealed that her eyesight has not been the same since she got pregnant and gave birth to her daughter.

She said she used to have perfect vision before having her daughter, but her eyesight started getting worse afterward.

This guy of mine, has told me that he can never return to Nigeria. He said he doesn’t know how to tell his wife to move on with her life, but he would still keep sending monies for her and the children.

He said he is aware he won’t return but in future, he would make way for his children to meet him up over there. Funnily, he said that, if his wife got married and wants to come abroad with his children, he can create a way for her and her new husband but not now. Like 10 to 15 years later.

Wømęn should be aware that some of these men who travelled out of Nigeria, are still always been helped there by some other women citizens in those countries. They should try to have genuine discussions with their husbands so that, they do not wait into regrets.

Grace Makun, the sister-in-law of Nigerian comedian and actor AY Makun, has posted a video showcasing the aftermath of the fire that occurred at his home in Lekki, Lagos.

It will be recalled that the comedian faced a huge tragedy last Sunday, August 6, as his mansion was engulfed with fire, resulting in the loss of valuable belongings worth millions of naira. However, the cause of the fire has not been made public.

He has since released a statement that the fire did not claim any lives, as his wife and children are presently in the United States. He also revealed his plans to join them soon.

“Family and God – that is what’s important. Everything else comes and goes. Can’t wait to join you guys in the US in a few,” he wrote.

In a recent update, Grace, his sister-in-law, has taken to social media to show the extent of the damage done to the mansion following the fire incident.

The video shows the house burnt beyond recognition and everything inside charred. Firefighters were also captured in the clip, while some persons were trying to clean up the mess.
