A 34-year-old Kenyan man allegedly chopped off the hands of his wife of seven years with a large knife because she cannot have children, in what is said to be the most atrocious cases of domestic violence.
28-year-old Jackline Mwende from Kathama Village, Masii in Machakos County, had her hands chopped off at the wrist by her husband, Stephen Ngila Thenge (right) on July 24.
She is also nursing injuries on her head and neck from the gruesome attack. Relatives say the couple had been having issues and Ms Mwende wanted to leave her husband but was advised against it by “their pastor”
Ms Mwende, who spoke told the Nation Kenya at her father’s Kathama home, where she now stays after her discharge from the hospital on Friday, July 29, said that before the attack, they had separated for about three months over failure to have children

“I could not understand why he was blaming me yet we had gone to hospital last year and the doctors had said he was the one with issues, which could be corrected,” she said. She said her husband, a tailor at Masii town, refused to follow up on treatment.
“He moved out of our house three months ago and came back on Sunday (July 24) at around 8.30pm. When I opened the door, he said ‘today is your last day’ and started slashing me with the panga.”

Ms Mwende called out for help but the man fled before neighbours arrived.
“They were all afraid of touching me, they thought I was dead. I was rushed to Machakos Hospital where I was given painkillers and got a blood transfusion. I was discharged on Friday.”
Shocked villagers described Mr Thenge is a very “polite man”. The man was arrested on Monday July 25 in Machakos town hours after he fled his home in Masii.
Ms Mwende’s jobless parents are now appealing for help to take care of their child.

Mr Samuel Munyoki said:
“We want justice for our daughter. The person who did this should pay for it. She is now disabled and will need artificial hands to get her life together but we can’t afford anything. We are poor, we can’t even afford her painkillers.”
Ms Mwende said she was leaving everything to God even as she expected justice from the courts. Machakos women Representative Dr Susan Musyoka condemned violence and said justice must be done.

This man seen in the photo above was nabbed by some Nigerian military officers after he was seen wearing a camouflage uniform.
While questioning him, the man fearfully told the soldiers that he had bought the cap and shirt from street marketers while he was at Ibadan – one of the soldiers cocked his rifle and acted as if he was going to shoot him, and immediately the ‘offender‘ was reduced to tears, crying and begging for his life like a baby.
He can be seen holding onto another soldier who he said he won’t let go, all because of his fright – even when the other soldiers told him he was free to go, he didn’t let go of the one he was holding onto.

It’s a question which has haunted scientists for decades – why do women have orgasms? – thankfully, a team of Yale researchers claim to have finally discovered the answer and it’s all to do with ovulation.
They believe that in the past, our female ancestors only released an egg after being stimulated by a male just before or during sex. This is still the case for numerous species of mammals – including rabbits, ferrets, camels and cats.
Once stimulated, the prehistoric female would have released certain hormones causing her to ovulate and the egg was then fertilised by sperm. But over hundreds of thousands of years their bodies evolved to ovulate by themselves – once a month.
This means a woman’s orgasm – famously simulated by Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally – now has no reproductive function, and this is what has baffled scientists.
Professor Gunter Wagner, who specialises in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale, believes that in the past all female mammals ovulated after having an orgasm. It was only later on that some species – such as humans, dogs, cows and rats – evolved to ovulate by themselves during cycles.
Professor Wagner, whose discovery is published in the journal JEZ-Molecular and Developmental Evolution, focused on the hormones released by different female mammals during sex. Most release a surge of the ‘feelgood’ hormones prolactin and oxytocin and in many cases this triggers ovulation.
This led him and his colleagues to believe that in the past, ovulation was always triggered by an orgasm.
Dr Mihaela Pavlicev of the Centre for Prevention of Preterm Birth at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, in the US, who was also involved in the research said:
‘We think the hormonal surge characterises a trait that we know as female orgasm in humans. This insight enabled us to trace the evolution of the trait across species.
‘[Similar] traits in different species are often difficult to identify, as they can change substantially in the course of evolution.’
Other scientists have come up with other controversial explanations as to why women have orgasms when they perform no function.
One of the most obvious is that they simply encourage them to have more sex, and reproduce, as it is so enjoyable.
Another theory is that they create a stronger bond between the woman and the man, making it more likely they will stay together and have more children.
Finally, some scientists claim it is down to the ‘mate-choice’ hypothesis whereby females chose a mate on the basis of sexual satisfaction.
Theoretically, a male which gives them a better orgasm has stronger sperm and will help her to produce more offspring. The Archive of Sexual Behaviour also found in a study that women who pretended to orgasm did so as part of a strategy of mate retention.
The study found women who thought that their partner was likely to cheat on them were more likely to fake it.

‘Everyone in my car including Rayce sustained serious injuries, we are all in one hospital at Agege now. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me yet o’.
An eyewitness also said,
‘It happened like a movie. The Dangote truck just came out of no where and rammed into about five cars. I’m sure people died, because it looked really bad’.
Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps have reportedly confirmed the accident.

You are most certainly vulnerable if you actually believe that that is Adele, holding high Adekunle Gold‘s new album, Gold, with a smile on her face… Lmao!
Everything about her, holding that album is just too fake, from the way she’s holding it to the smile she’s wearing about holding it – truth be told, it certainly won’t be so bad if Adele is seen grooving to the RnB singer’s album.
I mean, a lot of foreign artistes have a flair for African music and it won’t be bad if the singer is one of those African musicians…

Adekunle Gold has proven yet again that he is the Nigerian KING of photo shop as he has released yet another one of his deceptive works – this time, he has the “Hello” crooner, holding his new debut album, Gold.
His photo shopping skills is really gold!

Nigerian billionaire, Dele Momodu, was recently honored with a doctorate degree by a Ghanian university – and the media mogul shared lots of lovely photos from the honorary event including the one seen above.
Rather than felicitate with him, one of his followers wasted no time in pointing out something he found wrong in the photo.
He wondered why someone had to carry the billionaire’s umbrella while he made a speech at the event.
See the thread between the follower and him:

How sad this is! It’s no doubt that mother’s are rare gems in this world and losing is certainly losing something so priceless and extraordinary.
It’s just so sad that this lad had to lose his at such a tender age of 4 – the boy who is so heart smitten by his mum’s death wouldn’t leave her side as he concurrently stays by her and even sleeping there.

The Ace Comedian shares his quite inspiring story of how he began hustling and thriving to get to where he is now way back from 1983.
Ali Baba revealed he acquired some skills before he got to where he is today.
Below is what he wrote:
“Believe it or not, I learnt how to make shoes in 1983, in Agbarha-Otor, while I was waiting for Almighty Jamb to smile on me. God will bless my teacher, the Deeper Life Pastor, an Igbo man, who had lost half of his left thumb during the Biafran civil war. He was my dad’s tenant.
After observing me for days, he called me to come join him to design and cut patterns. Because he saw me graph drawing the picture of DELE GIWA. And taught me all the processes of shoe making. From preparing the leather and maximizing same, to design, sizing, cutting and sewing.
He taught me how to repair shoes only after he had taught me everything about shoes. I asked why? He said if he did not teach me about the making of a shoe, it will be impossible to know how to fix what you do not know how to make.He said the best way to learn how to fix anything is to know how it’s made. He said that is why in Aba, where he learnt how to make shoes, in 1975, his master will go buy imported brogue shoes and take them apart. Then teach him and his fellow apprentices how and why the different part of the shoe helps to make the shoe what it becomes. I remember the first day I met@micheleathers1 and I took her through how to make shoes. She was dazed.
This post is to tell all the lazy guys who think sitting down and waiting for GOVT to give them a job is cool. You will regret it. I have been many things in my life. Conductor. Sand digger. Truck loader. Casual laborer. Taxi driver. Bakery worker. Shoemaker. Barber. Deejay. Tailor. Lesson teacher. Street Hawker… So when you are fit and complete, and beg for money, it irritates me. Just so you know.”

Following the reports of the Kanye, Kim and Taylor saga, it’s been revealed newly that the rapper’s controversial lyrics about Taylor Swift weren’t even written by him.
The Sun on Sunday reports that Rihanna’s ex-PR Jonathan Hay alleges the lines which read which read: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that b***h famous/ God damn/ I made that b***h famous.”, were written by his act Cyhi The Prynce – real name Cydel Young – who is actually credited on the track.
Jonathan said:
“The lyrics are written by Cydel. Kanye got all the backlash but he isn’t even the one who wrote them.
“Cydel lays down the lines and Kanye will OK them and perform them.”

She shows that she’ll make the perfect mother though – I can’t help but love how stunning she looks as she has that baby on her.
The beautiful singer and fashionista, is seen here looking all stunning as she is on aunt duties, babysitting her sister’s kid – the singer’s sister, Lola, got married last year September, 2015.
Beautiful lady….

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EKEDC) yesterday said electricity supply to the National Arts Theatre in Lagos was cut off because its management was owing over N9 million debt.
General manager, Media Communications of EKEDC, Mr Idemudia Godwin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the complex was disconnected after appeals and demand notices went unheeded.According to him, the debt is an accumulation of unpaid bills over time.
He is quoted as saying:
“We don’t disconnect without serving notice. “Besides, we recently ran a newspaper advertisement informing ministries, departments and parastatal agencies (MDAs) of government that were indebted to EKEDC of our intention to disconnect them.“We have commenced disconnection of historic debtors, including residential, commercial, industrial and government establishments within our network
