Popular Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has for the umpteenth time called out a popular controversial pastor in Nigeria for doing her “dirty”.

Taking to her Instastory, the 38-year-old thespian revealed that she met the clergyman, whom she referred to as ‘JS’, when she was only 26 and that he messed up her life so badly that she can’t get her head around it.

She further stated that he will suffer in the same way she suffered because of him. She also vowed to pay him back in his own coin because she is no longer scared of him.

According to the actress who claimed to have received texts from some women, the pastor had no regrets after all the activities he allegedly done.

Nigerian doctor reportedly found

A Nigerian medical doctor, identified as Satmak Silas Gideon, has passed away only six weeks after his wedding in Jos, Plateau state capital.

The deceased was reportedly found dead in his neighbour’s apartment in the wee hours of Wednesday, August 2, after returning from work.

According to a journalist who anchored his wedding reception, Bello Lukman, Dr. Satmak appeared to have been poisoned, but the incident is still being investigated by the police.

“RIP to Dr Satmak Silas. Oh, this is sad and agonising: I anchored Dr Satmak’s wedding reception on 17th June 2023 at Rochas and was hopeful of a perfect union only to be called Dr Satmak’s dead body was found in their neighbor’s apartment on Wednesday after earlier returning from JUTH around 4am. His dead body, according to his family members, shows signs of poisoning with signs of struggles on his hand,” Bello said in a Facebook post on Friday.

“How he got to his neighbour’s room at 4am is still a mystery while the neighbours’ delay in reporting his presence and death until 4pm since 4am is been investigated by the police. This is a very sad one Dr Satmak, you died just six weeks after your wedding. May Almighty God give us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May Almighty God expose your killers. Amen.”

The deceased doctor was inducted into the medical profession in February this year, and got married to his wife, Dina, in June.

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to seek counsel after finding himself in a complicated situation.

The anonymous disclosed that he had an affair with the younger sister of his wife, and she has threatened to tell everyone if he does not give in to her demands.

He bemoaned the fact that his sister-in-law had asked him to open a saloon for her if he wanted her to keep their relationship a secret from his wife.

Whitemoney while speaking with his fellow housemates recounted an incident where an unidentified housemate pressed his butt, lingered and squeezed it hard, leading him to believe it was a man.

He admitted that he had a little drink and was tipsy, but it didn’t cloud his judgment and he was certain it was a male housemate that did it.

Controversial actor, Uche Maduagwu has knocked veteran actor, Pete Edochie over his statement about actresses who are divorced.

A retired Nigerian pastor, Wale Adenuga, has taken to social media to mourn the devastating demise of the medical doctor, Vwaere Diaso, who passed away recently.

Vwaere, who was set to conclude her housemanship in two weeks, died in an elevator accident at the General Hospital, Odan in Lagos state on Tuesday, August 1.

Speaking on her death, Adenuga expressed sadness over the tragedy, and recounted how his pastor friend once told him that many people who die in Nigeria were not killed by God or the devil, including Vwaere.

According to him, she died because of the hospital’s negligence and silence on the part of the people to enforce change.

He stressed that long life sometimes isn’t a function of prayers, but how how well a society runs, citing the Japenese who live longer than Christians despite not believing in Jesus.

“A senior friend of mine who’s a very popular pastor in Nigeria once told me this: many people who die in Nigeria were not killed by God nor the devil. It’s true. And that’s what we have in the case of Dr. Diaso who died in that elevator crash.

An avoidable death because the maintenance didn’t do what they were supposed to do. But not only that; it happened because we all looked on and didn’t speak up and follow through. If we followed through, there would have been an insistence on deactivating that lift.

Let’s imbibe a culture of speaking up and following through when we see wrong things happening. We need to move from just sharing testimonies of how God saved us while others perished.

I used to teach my congregants when I was a pastor that long life sometimes isn’t a function of prayers. It’s sometimes a function of how well a society runs. It’s why the Japanese who doesn’t believe in Jesus lives up to 90 and those of us rolling on altars die at 54.

Speak up when the wrong dimension is used for reinforcement rods in a building construction. Because verily verily, Jesus won’t stop the building from coming down. When you see evil, speak up. And please don’t use that worn out phrase; AND GOD WILL HELP US, because sometimes He won’t.

Chioma herself has neither confirmed nor denied the marriage breakup rumors. She also did a good job at keeping her husband and children from the public, so the divorce rumours remained mere speculations.

However, her senior colleague in the industry, Pete Edochie, appears to have confirmed the rumours now.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Pete Edochie said he was shocked to receive news about Chioma’s divorce and those of other actresses in the industry.

He also expressed concern over the rising number of divorce cases within the Nollywood movie industry, particularly among actresses. He further emphasized that marriage is meant to be for better or worse.

In his words,

“If you come to our Industry today, most of our ladies who got married 2- 3 years ago have all left their husbands, I was shocked that Chioma Chukwa had left her husband, Ireti Doyle, Tonto Dikeh. You take a vow when you are going to get married for better or worst, not for better or out. You will always think it’s greener on the other side, that is the mistake we all make”.

Famous Canadian singer, Celine Dion’s sister, Claudette Dion, has revealed that the singer is struggling because she has a condition called stiff person syndrome.

Stiff person syndrome is a very rare and incurable neurological condition that causes uncontrollable muscle spasms.

Speaking to Le Journal de Montreal (via SheMazing), Claudette spoke about how Celine’s life has been since she had to cancel her world tour. Claudette admitted that her sister needs to take a break to rest.

However, she mentioned that the singer, who is popularly known for her hit song ‘My heart will go on’, is working really hard to find a cure for the condition, which some doctors call ‘statue syndrome.’

‘She’s listening to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible,’ Claudette said.

Claudette acknowledged how devoted her sister is to her performances, stating that, “She always gives her all, striving to excel and be at the top of her game however there comes a time when your heart and body are sending you a message.”

Her sister noted, “[Performing is] innate to her, she’s disciplined in every area of her life.”

“We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important,” Claudette emphasized.

A source close to the singer recently told US Weekly, “It came as a shock, but she’s lost none of her fighting spirit and is comforted that at least she knows exactly what she’s dealing with now.”

They added, “There’s comfort that she can alleviate some of the symptoms by getting treatments that are specific for this condition.”

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written the Nigerian senate for approval on proposed military action and other sanctions against the military officers who recently seized power in the Niger Republic.

The proposed sanctions were listed in the letter which was read on the floor of the Upper Chamber by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio on Friday, August 4.

It read;

“Political situation in Niger.

“Following the unfortunate political situation in the Niger Republic culminating in the overthrow of its President, ECOWAS under my leadership condemned the coup in its entirety and resolved to seek the return of the democratically elected govt. in a bid to restore peace, ECOWAS convened a meeting and came out with a communique.

“Closure and monitoring of all land borders with the Niger Republic and reactivating of the border drilling exercise.

”Cutting off Electricity supply to the Niger Republic

”Mobilizing international support for the implementation of the provisions of the ECOWAS communique

“Preventing the operation of commercial and special flights into and from Niger Republic

In the video TG Omori could be seen playing the role of a Police officer extra in the in the popular comedy series, Papa Ajasco.

He added that he got paid just N3k for being a police extra, poverty showed him black and white, and he looked older than his age that year.

Media personality, Nedu Wazobia, has confessed that his previous marriage to Uzoamaka Ohiri was difficult for him to get over.

The comedian who divorced his ex-wife Uzoamaka in 2018 after accusing her of paternity fraud claimed it was the worst time of his life, but he continued to make funny videos to amuse those who were unaware of his depression.

He disclosed it when speaking with VJ Adams on the MTV Base Africa program, MTV Base Sparks.

Nedu claimed that in 2017 and 2018, as a result of the difficulties he was facing, he began to experience anxiety attacks when his marriage began to have problems.

However, the controversial TV and radio host said that before he officially ended his marriage to his estranged wife, he was “healed” by another woman.

He said;

“Getting over my first marriage, it was the most difficult period in my life. The funny thing is, it was 2017/2018, I was going through hell, but nobody knew.

You know how it is when you are taking a walk, and your heart is skipping for no just reason. I was under anxiety attacks. But guess what? I was doing comedy skits and posting daily. But I was going through hell.

Yes, I have healed fully from that situation, 150 per cent. The person that healed me does not even know she was the one that healed me. I healed even before I left the marriage because if you are not healed, you can’t move on. So, I got to a point where I was healed a bit, and then I moved on and then totally got healed much later.”

Man banned from Canada for 5 years after paying N15 million and getting a fake job offer

A Nigerian man has shared the unexpected events that took place after he paid a travel agent N15 million to secure him a job and a visa to Canada.

According to Grama Shasha who shared the man’s story on TikTok, he wanted to relocate to Canada with his family.

A visa to Canada for the man and his family was promised in exchange for an upfront payment of N5 million from the man.

A fake letter of employment that the agency promised would allow him to work in Canada was all that was delivered to him after a few months.

The travel agency disappeared after that. The man went to another agent since he wasn’t sure what to do and gave him the letter containing the job offer.

The new agent’s application for the man’s Canadian visa was examined by the embassy, and it was discovered that the job offer letter was a fake.

The man’s visa application was denied, and he was also denied entry to Canada for a period of five years. The individual mistakenly obtained the phony employment offer letter from the travel agent, which led to the ban.

The soldier who described the snake as “weapon formed against him”, said he cooked pepper soup with it and used its skin as souvenir.

In other news, a Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after she shared the shocking device she got when she attempted to purchase an iPhone.

She had visited computer village in Ikeja, Lagos state to buy an iPhone but she got duped by traders who sold her a dummy instead.

It was gathered that she went to buy an new phone and after paying the money, she left the place only to later try to put it on and see that it was not coming on.

She opened the device and found broken pieces of tiles inside what she thought was an iPhone and felt totally devastated.

The lady went back to computer village to find the people that sold it to her but she could no longer locate them.

In a video which surfaced online, she was complaining and showing the phone to a group of people that stopped to inquire what was wrong.

Maria, who is heavily pregnant with her first child, complained that she had been searching for her Twitter app on her phone to share her troubles, but couldn’t because she momentarily forgot that it has been rebranded as “X”.

According to her, she is currently struggling with ‘mummy brain’ and easily forgets things. She also disclosed that she is getting shorter and her nose has noticeably increased in size due to her pregnancy.
