When he was not ready for marriage, a lady he slept with several years ago in Lagos got pregnant and it sort of landed him in a scandal. But now that he’s married, six years later, his wife is yet to conceive.
Popular gospel singer Sammie Okposo’s marriage will be six years on July 1. Speaking with Sunday Scoop, he said he is not bothered by the fact that he is yet to have a child with his wife, Ozioma Okposo who is the younger sister of Kene Mkparu, the CEO of FilmHouse and FilmOne.
Sammie has survived almost everything a gospel musician should not go through.
He has faced multiple scandals, church suspension and vicious kinds of rumours about his antecedents. But now he said he has learnt his lessons and he’s no longer in a hurry in life:
“I am happily married. I am happy I did not get married before I married my wife. I married my best friend. She is a good woman, she is a supporter. She loves me…”
Speaking further about their not having a child yet, he said,
“I am not bothered. Why should I be bothered? Am I God? Anything that has to do with life is not in my control. God is the person with the final say when it comes to childbirth. It is going to happen, because delay is not denial.
However, it is not affecting the happiness in my home. I am not waiting for my wife to give me a child to bring extra happiness. It has not even formed a discussion in our home. God is the owner of babies; he is the one that gives.
“I thank God because he did not give me some things when I wanted them. In the meantime, I am grooving, rocking and graciously enjoying my wife because there is no distraction and responsibility of raising a child yet. When God feels we have enjoyed ourselves enough, he will give us double for our trouble.
The way we are now, if I’m on tour in America and I miss her, she could join me if she’s free but when babies are involved, you can’t just leave home like that.”
The gospel singer who had a well-documented dalliance with Kate Henshaw in the past and has a reputation for women, said all his attention is now on Jesus and his wife.
“It is a time to focus, I looked at myself in the mirror and spoke to myself. As far as Sammie Okposo is concerned, no more side chick for me. It is not even a topic of discussion,” he said.
Speaking further, Sammie said he is concerned about the trend of inviting secular artistes to the church to minister.
In time past, Korede Bello signed under Mavin Record and some other musicians have been invited to different churches to sing. Sammie who is a Globacom ambassador said, “It is totally wrong.”
“It is 100 per cent wrong for a church leader or a church denomination to bring a secular artiste to minister in church; what we have is an altar not a stage. You cannot take people to a place you have never been. As long as you are not a gospel musician, you are not anointed to minister on the altar of God as a singer. It doesn’t matter whether you used to sing in the church or not,” he added.
A heart-stopping video from Chiba, Japan shows a little boy turning his back on a lion enclosure only for it to charge forward and pounce – only stopped by the glass wall.
The adorable tot, just two-years-old can be seen watching the male lion crouching by the rock at the back of the large class-enclosed space. the boy doesn’t run away, he simply spins around to face the lion, his hand held out as he stumbles backward.
Maybe in his childish innocence he thought the big cat was just trying to come and play.
According to zookeepers the lion reportedly weighs more than 400lbs. They claim he often gets excited when he sees small children and wants to play with them.

FFollowing the death of 14-year-old Amina Ibrahim, after reacting to a combination of drugs that she took, Punch’s Motunrayo Joel writes about the dangers of self-prescription and Stevens-Johnson syndrome, the rare but dangerous medical condition that it can trigger.
Amina Ibrahim’s mother, Maryam, rushed to her daughter’s bedside, knelt down and began to pray loudly in Hausa, hot tears running down her face soaking her black hijab. Her wailing rang out loud and clear filling the air within Mohammed Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital in Kano State.
“I hoped that my baby will survive. She cannot die; she will be healed. You cannot die; we will all go home together,” she cried. Sadly, Amina didn’t rise up to pacify her. 14-year-old Amina died.
“Your death could have been avoided. What did I do wrong, why did my daughter have to die?
My Amina, I refuse to believe you are gone,” she cried. As she cried, her husband, Bala Ibrahim, looked on. His vacant eyes staring into space. Bala held his daughter’s hand. He could not touch her face or hug her in death. Stevens-Johnson syndrome, the medical condition that Amina succumbed to, had left her face and body terribly disfigured.
As tears rolled down Maryam’s eyes and her hijab got even more wet, the doctors and other hospital workers who struggled to save the fourteen-year-old’s life moved in to console her.
Shortly after she started wailing, the Accident and Emergency ward of the hospital began to fill up with people who heard her and came to console her. Within a short while, the entire ward was a cacophony of noise and screams.
Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a life-threatening skin condition that disfigures the body before finishing off its victim.
Mayoclinic.org, the website of foremost US medical group, Mayo Clinic, describes Stevens-Johnson syndrome as a “rare, serious disorder of skin and mucous membranes” that is usually “a reaction to a medication or an infection.”
It says, “Often, Stevens-Johnson syndrome begins with flu-like symptoms, followed by a painful red or purplish rash that spreads and blisters. Then the top layer of the affected skin dies and sheds.”
Maryam told our correspondent that her daughter’s health problems started when she started reacting to the drugs she bought from a local drug dispenser in their neighbourhood. These drug dispensers are called ‘chemists’ across Nigeria.
Punch learnt that Amina, who resided with her parents in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, developed body pains after taking the drugs.
Maryam said, “I wish I had told Amina not to go to that particular chemist. But how could I have known that she embarked on a trip to her death? My children and I usually patronise the chemist. We do not have money. I am a housewife while my husband is an electrician. We feed on the little money my husband makes on a daily basis. I have five children; we cannot afford to be visiting a hospital every time we are ill. My daughter complained of cold and cough which made her visit the chemist to get some medications.
“On May 26, Amina and her younger brother went to the chemist near where we live in Dala council area. She told the chemist what was wrong with her. I later learned that it was the chemist’s son who was on duty that day. The boy is about 19 years old.”
Mrs. Ibrahim, who spoke through a female interpreter, added that the boy prescribed an antibiotic, Septrin, to Amina, claiming that it would relieve her of her discomfort.
According to her, later in the evening of that day, Amina took the drug (septrin) and within an hour, her lips and tongue got swollen and her eyes became red.
“The pain was unbearable for her. We did not know what to do. I had to check the expiry date on the drug sachet to be sure it had not expired. But I could not find any date, ’’ she stated wiping tears with her palms.
She further said Amina returned to the chemist the next day to complain of her reaction to the drug.
‘‘I followed her to the chemist and we met him in his shop. He said Amina was developing symptoms of chicken pox and that she would need to be placed on injection and other drugs to fight the ailment. We heeded his advice, believing he was an expert in health matters,” her mother said.
She told our correspondent that the chemist gave her daughter a combination of drugs which included paracetamol, ciproxin, puriton, ciprotob and blood tonic to treat the chicken pox which he claimed Amina had.
“Immediately she completed her injection doses, things got out of hand. My beautiful daughter changed into someone I could not recognise. Her face turned black as if she got burnt. Her health also deteriorated daily,” she said.
Throughout his narration, Amina’s father, was lost in thought. Once in a while, a solitary teardrop would travel from one of his eyes, down his face and on to his cheeks. He did not wipe these tears. He just stared into space.
“I do not know what to say, I do not even know what to think. I cannot believe my baby is gone. What pains me most is that her death could have been avoided. Every day, throughout the period Amina was being treated, we hoped she would be fine and we would all go home together someday. I just did not know if my family would be able to recover from this,” he said softly.
When asked if they had reported the chemist to the police, he said, “We can’t find him again.”
Research done by clinical pharmacists has shown that self-prescription is one of the commonest forms of drug abuse in the country.
A Chief Pharmacist at the Food and Drug Information unit, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, Abiodun Adigun, warned that the condition was on the increase in Nigeria. He also said the condition affected all age groups, races but was more common in females than males.
He said, ‘‘Being a member of the pharmacovigilance committee, I have been opportune to fill and submit the yellow form (adverse drug reaction form) to the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control zonal centres emanating from drug use at normal therapeutic dose.
“Recently, the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, alerted the public on the need to increase awareness and knowledge of this disease with the aim of preventing it. People with a weakened immune system either as a result of an organ transplant, HIV/AIDs and autoimmune diseases such as lupus are at increased risk.”
Twenty-year-old Temitope Adekunle (not real name) is one of the many Nigerians who self-prescribed. Temitope, who lives in Agege, a Lagos surburb, does not go to the hospital when ill.
“Whenever I have malaria, I take Quatem, cough mix, antibiotics, blood tonic and another drug which I cannot readily remember now. I rarely visit hospitals. Why should I when I can receive treatment at a nearby chemist?” he said.
A clothier, Mr. Taiwo Idris, said he takes paracetamol, amalar, amoxil and vitamin C whenever he is ill.
The habit of using drugs without prescriptions is not limited to artisans as some educated persons also indulge in it.
An undergraduate, who simply identified himself as Ajuba, said going to hospitals for diagnosis and prescription is a waste of time.
“I personally consider it a waste of time, when I can walk into a chemist and purchase the drugs I need. I’m not saying it is wrong going to hospitals, but if you know your ailment and the drugs you need, walk into a chemist and purchase the drugs, simple,” he said.
A businessman, Mr. Tolu Olagunju, also said he uses drugs without prescription except when it is a major health case.
“For cases such as malaria, typhoid, buying drugs without prescription is not bad. These are not serious, life-threatening cases. I only go to my family hospital when I have a major health challenge that I can’t handle. With the current state of the economy, going to hospitals and paying consultation fee and all other fees just to see a doctor is difficult, let me be honest with you,” he said.
Similarly, Mrs. Lola Olanrewaju, a mother of three and a businesswoman also acknowledged buying drugs without prescription.
“I don’t take my children to a hospital every time they have a health challenge. There are some drugs I am conversant with which I know work for them. It is abroad that people always visit hospitals if they have any little health challenge,” she said.
A deadly disease
In 2012, a medical doctor, Adeyosola Adedayo, also died of SJS, at the young age of 27.
According to his brother, Fadesola, the late Adeyosola contracted the condition after an allergic reaction to a precautionary medication he took while helping the less-privileged in Lagos, Nigeria.
He said, “Since his death, I wished that no one should feel the pain that my family and I felt. I have since made it my life’s mission to raise money and awareness for Stevens-Johnson syndrome among other deadly skin diseases.
“We were so close; I still remember our last conversation. I didn’t know that it would be our last conversation. His departure has left a huge void in my heart. He was a lovable person; his death came as a shock to many.”
Also, in 2011, Marian Adejokun, a young lady based in the United Kingdom, was left scarred for life after she developed an allergic reaction to a medication.
Adekojun spent more than three weeks in intensive care at the Royal London Hospital where doctors diagnosed her with Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
Her ordeal began five years ago when she developed an itchy eye. Her doctor asked her to get some eye drops from the pharmacy which she used before going to bed.
“The next morning, I was horrified to wake up with lumps all over my body. As my condition began to deteriorate, I was rushed to the hospital. As my skin began to shed, I was put into a medically induced coma — and doctors warned my mother I may not survive. I am indeed lucky to be alive and healthy,” she said in London.
Experts’ mixed perspectives
Commenting on the condition, a clinical pharmacist at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, Mrs. Ogochukwu Onwujekwe, noted that Amina’s situation must have been triggered off by a combination of the different drugs she took.
She said, “Drugs can kill and heal. There are some certain drugs that trigger SJS, however the syndrome is a rare disease condition. It is a pity that when the drug reaction started, the chemist thought it was chicken pox. If Amina had reported the reaction at its early state to a proper doctor in a hospital, it would not have escalated.
“It is a sad tale. Nigerians who patronise quack chemists and drug hawkers must realise that they are endangering their health.”
Onwujekwe said it was possible the drug responsible was not withdrawn and so caused more harm.
‘‘If a qualified health care professional was sought, the problem would have been nipped at an early stage. The patient may be resuscitated with a treatment similar to that meted out on severe burn patients. It may however leave the patient with long term conditions like blindness, scarring, arthritis, nerve damage and other limitations and disabilities for example permanent skin damage,” she added.
Onwujekwe added that the condition could be triggered by sulphur-based drugs such as tylenol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and naproxen , and anti-psychotic and anti-epileptic drugs, especially carbamazepine.
She said, ‘‘Unfortunately, these are the drugs that are usually “mixed” in chemists’ shops by the unqualified drug sellers to unsuspecting buyers to cure ailments.”
Onwujekwe called on the Federal Government to move against the prevalence of self-prescription among Nigerians.
She said, “These strategies should be at different levels: health system, governance level, level of health care providers, medical doctors, pharmacists, patent medicine vendors and level of consumers. Some of the interventions for the different levels that the government can implement include embarking on awareness and sensitisation campaigns on the need to seek medical care in reputable facilities with trained personnel.’’
She also advocated that clear warnings should be on the labels of drugs that have the potential to cause adverse drug reactions.
The health practitioner advised those who use drugs to report adverse reactions to the nearest health facility for appropriate medical attention.
The President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Ahmed Ibrahim Yakasai, in a chat with Punch, said that the body just had a meeting on the issue of quack chemists. According to him, the trend has become worrisome and needs to be tackled urgently.
“We just had a meeting on the issue of quack chemists springing up, and we are doing everything possible to curb this problem.”

Many times, we have read touching stories of celebrities who sponsored fans’ education. Weeks ago, Davido supported a fan with N50,000. In June, 2015, Kcee gave N85,000 to yet another fan who begged him to pay her school fees.
However, singer Brymo is not that charitable; to him, nothing good comes so easy.

Last week, news made the rounds that Sir Shina Peters abandoned his wife, Sammie Peters for a new wife Olajumoke Olayinka Peters.
However, following the massive criticism from the fans of the Afrojuju singer, his manager Femi Davies has sort of denied that claim.
According to Davies, Peters is a ‘law-abiding citizen who wouldn’t risk bigamy as he is legally married to Sammie Peters.
“The story is not true. Shina is not married to any other woman other than Sammie,” Davies told Punch, adding, “He is legally married so he cannot have another marriage by law.”
But the business manager refused to address the relationship between the iconic singer and Olajumoke Olayinka Peters, if any exist at all.
Well, they have denied the claims that he abandoned his wife, and we guess his fans can breathe well now.
In the clip, the woman above named Rebecca Masika, a Congolse Human Rights Activist, narrated how some warlords dressed in military uniform, stormed her home during the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1999, stole from them, dismembered her husband and afterwards forced her to eat his penis.
The warlords then proceeded to rape her and her two daughters aged 9 and 13 who got pregnant and had babies for men who they do not know.
According to the woman, she counted 22 men raping her before she passed out. The attack left her womb destroyed.
She said she was later thrown out of her husband’s house by his relatives because she refused to get married to his younger brother and also because she had no male child. She worked with a foundation that helped victims of rape. Masika died last year from Malaria and High Blood Pressure.

Today #Faithbuilders as we remember all the victims and families of the flood, thank God for the miracles you don’t even know of. If you are LIVING then you are a MIRACLE!…#Blessed #3rdJune2015
This is the moment a woman’s wig fell off while she was dancing with her hubby for their pre-wedding photohoot.
“Just remembering when we took our engagement pics with@rhphotoarts. It was such a fun time especially when my wig fell off trying to capture the perfect shot. We laughed and my boo just picked up my wig like nothing ever happened and we kept it moving! Can’t wait to say I do to this man!” she wrote.
The photos have since gone viral upon emergence online and many users have expressed their amusement at the hilarrious occurence.
Many others have laughed off the whole thing calling it a stage-mangaged act.

I really love Toke Makinwa..I don’t know about you! But I sincerely do..I hope she notices me someday (:
In a chat with The Nation, Toke Makinwa explained why she loves to always attend events.
“Attending events is part of work as well. I do get paid to attend some events. When you grow a brand and it becomes a solid brand, people will want to associate with that and if they have some products or services that they have that would align with your brand; they invite you to be part of it. Just like people feel like your been at certain events might also add some glamour to it. I see it as work as well. I really don’t go out like that, in terms of having fun or chilling at home. I think I enjoy the fact that it’s a job and I am getting paid for it. I am the life of a party and that hasn’t changed. I love talking, I love to go out to listen to music and have a good time.”

There have been whispers and speculations about a “Cold Blooded Lowkey War” between Delectable Actresses, Chioma Akpotha and Mercy Johnson..
Right now, in what seems to be a confirmation of this war, the two might have just confirmed it in their separate interviews with Punch when they were quizzed about the supposed acrimony.
While Chioma Akpotha denied any sort of beef with her “junior colleague” or any other person in the industry, Mercy Johnson said she doesn’t “have to be friends with everybody.”
According to Chioma, “This is shocking for me. She is my junior colleague, I have no idea what people are saying. My life is so plain and I have no reason to have a beef with anybody in the industry.”
Mercy Johnson however, told Punch, “I do not have to be friends with everybody; I am not under any obligation to be friends with my colleagues.”
Only time will tell what ignited the “unfriendliness” between them.
Leading musical video director, Moe Musa who has shot several videos, used to live in the same building with singer JJC who is said to be dating leading actress, Funke Akindele.
Musa lived in the Boys Quarters’ of the house. Since the romance between Funke and JJC started, Sunday Scoop learnt that JJC, who is well entrenched in the entertainment industry has not been very comfortable with Musa’s presence as it might breach the privacy of the lovers.
Therefore, Musa had to secure a better apartment in the highbrow Lekki area to give the couple enough space. He said this development has not caused a rift between him and JJC whom he described as a brother.
Responding to Punch Newspaper’s telephone enquiries, the cinematographer said his moving out was his choice.
‘If I move out, it’s because I want to move out; I am a man. Everybody has the right to move out when they want to. JJC is my family, he is my brother. If you are with your brother and he is in a relationship, are you not going to move?”
He also denied that he is in a relationship with Chocolate City’s Victoria Kimani. “No I am not dating her,” he said.
A few hours ago, a Redeemers’ University lecturer, Mike Esiri posted this message below on Facebook:
How can a mortal man rise up and claim to be “the greatest”? That borders on blasphemy. The late Mohammed Ali could not even overcome Parkinson disease not to mention death. Without any fear of being branded a fanatic or such like, I make bold to declare that the Lord Jesus Christ who is King of kings and Lord of lords is the greatest.

Earlier today, online media platform, Premium Times, reported exclusively that President Buhari had taken ill and was being treated at the state house hospital (Read here).
The Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has debunked the report. In an interview with The Cable, Femi Adesina, said the report was not true and that President Buhari is as fit as a fiddle.
He said President Buhari only yesterday received Anglican bishops who paid him a courtesy visit at the state house Abuja yesterday June 3rd
“Didn’t you see pictures of him receiving Anglican bishops yesterday (Friday)? Did he look sick? The president is as fit as a fiddle. Anyone who says he is sick is telling lies. That is a figment of the person’s imagination. Just yesterday he received the primate of the Anglican Communion and arch bishops at the presidential villa. He also received former President Olusegun Obasanjo (pictured). He is hale and hearty. The imagination of whoever says that is on overdrive.”he said
Asked why President Buhari had in recent times delegated functions to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Adesina said
“The presidency is one. The president has a right to delegate duties to his deputy, who is the vice-president, and that is what he has done.”he said

Two years ago, self-acclaimed Musical Taliban, Oritsefemi, announced to the public that he had moved into a N200m mansion in the posh Lekki area of Lagos.
Everyone was so happy to receive the news as many said it was the beginning of many more good things to come in his life.
So many people even thought the property was his since that year had been good to him as he was all over the country performing his songs at elite events.
However, it came as a shock when news made rounds a few weeks ago that the singer was facing ejection from the said apartment. It was alleged that Oritsefemi’s landlord had threatened to throw him out from his property after he had failed to pay the rent which was due some months ago.
Story went viral that Oritsefemi, who was out of the country for a while, had since returned but was avoiding the landlord who had vowed to effect the quit notice by the end of May if the singer failed to pay his rent.
Debunking the reports, the singer said there was no iota of truth in the story as he was calling from the house, claiming that he had no problem with his landlord that they are like “Five and Six”.
“There is no iota of truth in the story and I was never threatened with ejection letter from my landlord. I don’t know where the story emanated from but it is a blatant lie. I went for my Europe tour and I returned about a week ago only to see this news all over blogs. I toured about 13 countries. I am inside my house as we speak on the phone. My landlord and I are like 5 and 6, we are very close. The news is totally false. I don’t have any issues with my landlord, in fact, he was surprised that I had not called him in a while and I told him I went for my Europe tour. The man is a high ranking police officer.
“I just got back from my tour and I have enough money, I cannot be broke. The tour was successful and everywhere was sold out. All our shows were sold out, so I cannot be unfortunate to be that broke. As I got back to Nigeria, I began work because I was booked at different gigs,” he said.
Few feeks ago, heavily endowed popular Nollywood actress, Anita Joseph, incurred the wrath of many of her fans and followers after she posted a boobs-baring photo (above) as friends and foes bashed her unapologetically online and social media.
In a recent chat with Punch’s Saturday Beats, Anita said she didn’t care about the negative comments she got because she believed most of the men who abused her got turned on just by looking at her photo.
“I just joined Instagram in April and I have been very active. I am aware that a picture I posted that showed my cleavage attracted a lot of attention. Some Nigerians are hypocrites and pretenders. A lot of them used that picture to masturbate and feel good, yet condemn it. The last time I checked, my boobs are still strong and beautiful,” she said.
The endowed actress added that the picture was not a recent one and her intention was not to tease men with it.
“I did not post the picture to tease men. I took that picture December 2015 while I was filming at Lekki. The weather was very hot, so I decided to take the picture. I was very tired that day and you can see it on my face.
“One day, I innocently uploaded it and by the time I checked my phone again, I had so many messages. I got calls from my friends; some liked it and others did not. At first, I wanted to remove it but when I saw all the comments, both positive and negative, I decided to leave the picture.
“As far as you don’t pay my bills, you have no right to tell me what to do. Only one man will tell me to take the picture down and I will because he pays my bills. He is the one to be obeyed,” she said.
These wedding photos of an African man marrying an elderly foreign woman is currently trending online.
The young man has been labelled ‘a real hustler’ by online users who questioned his love for the aged woman.
Many believe he is just going to use and then dump the woman after the marriage.
Many social media users are making this insinuation because of the obviously gloomy look on the man’s face on what should be one of the happiest days of his life.
The location and nationalities of the couple were not revealed but sketchy reports have it that the woman is over 60 years already while the man is still in his early 30s.
In an exclusive chat with Genevieve magazine, multi-award winning music star, Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje, has opened up on her misgivings in life as a single mother, stressing that her daughter, Emerald, will not make the same mistakes she made by being put in the family way outside wedlock.
The mother of one, said,
“I’m a mother but I know where to draw the line. It is because I don’t want her to make the same mistakes I made. I feel like some of the decisions I made was because I was raised differently.
“Our parents taught us what they knew as the truth, but what you know as the truth might not be the truth. Another thing is that parents do not tell their children why certain behaviours should be avoided.
“For example, parents say, “don’t drink because I said so” not, “don’t drink because it is bad for your health”; but I’m learning that for the children of this age, you have to tell them all the reasons why they should not do certain things.
“While my daughter was growing up, I took up the reward method; you do good, you get good. There was a consequence for every action,” she said.
“There were many times I really prayed that The One will quicken his steps to make things easier. It did get too much when it is time to pay rent, school fees, and other miscellaneous expenses.
“I had my own share of pillow cries and made sure she doesn’t see it. Sometimes she could come asking, “Why didn’t you and my Dad stay together?” And, when I first moved to Lagos, I couldn’t afford to have my daughter with me because I didn’t have a house; I was squatting with someone. There was a time I saw her like twice a year.
“There were times she cried, mummy I want to come and live with you, but I couldn’t afford it till 2011. Yet looking at my daughter, I will be honest that she is a blessing.
“And the blessing outweighs the challenges. I have learnt to be patient, more accommodating and to pay attention to details as a mom. I have also learnt to map out my priorities, because there are some things I simply cannot do as a mom.”
The sensational singer noted that her baby-daddy wasn’t ready at the time she took in. According to her, “I was young. He was young. Our relationship now is very cordial. We respect each other. He has not always been a part of my daughter’s life until recently.
“He met her last year. When she was quite young he showed interest but my fear was that he won’t be consistent. I didn’t want a situation where he would come in this year and leave the next. So I had to wait till I was sure that he would be there,” she added.
Approximately 5 weeks after his marital woe, Tiwa Savage’s estranged husband, Tunji Balogun Teebillz, has made his first public appearance.
According to Expressng, Teebillz was spotted on Thursday, June 2, at the popular bar, Churchill Bar, in Lekki Phase 1.
He was clad in a black long-sleeved kaftan at about 8pm in the company of a friend. He was said to be looking calm like nothing ever happened as he exchanged greetings with a few recognizable faces. The father of four had time also to exchange some banters with pals.
“The Tee Billz I saw looked very much like his old self. He just came to enjoy himself and looked like somebody who doesn’t have one care in the world,” confided Expressng source.
Shortly after, he retired to the exclusive VIP section with his male partner where they had a nice time with other companies.
Although he is yet to make any major public appearance, it was obvious that he has put the events of the past five weeks behind him.
Muhammad Ali – The greatest of all time died at age 74 on June 3rd 2016. Born Cassius Clay Jr on January 17, 1942, Muhammad Ali began training as early as when he was 12years old.
At the age of 22 he won the world heavy weight championship from Sonny Liston in 1974. The legendary boxer has been suffering from Parkinson’s Disease since 1984 and died at a Phoenix-area hospital where he spent a few days on treatment for respiratory complications.
Below are some photos from the lifetime of Muhammad Ali – The Greatest Boxer Of All Time:
I may not have been a fan of boxing, and I surely wouldn’t have thought i will write a piece about something related, well, yeah i am not, however, I am putting this down in honor of a true legend, Muhammad Ali, the man that taught me resilience.
Watching from the screen in our sitting room, i would often see a man who got knocked down repeatedly, yet he never gave up.
At a very young age, i realized it was not just over, being on the ground. Before i learned from Ali, I would always thing it’s best for a man knocked down to stay on the ground, but now, I realized even the ground is not enough to stop a motivated man, this was my first life’s lesson, from Ali.
In honor of him, I’ll be listing 5 things about Muhammad Ali you probably never knew about…
1. Ali Changed His Name More Than Once
According to his biographer, Davis Miller,
“The legend is known that when a young Kentucky-born Cassius Clay joined the Nation of Islam his name was immediately changed to the now iconic Muhammad Ali,” Miller says. “But few know that his first name change was to Cassius X.
“It was February 26, 1964 — the morning after he knocked out Sonny Liston. But nearly two weeks later, on March 6, he announced that religious and political leader Elijah Muhammad (who led the Nation of Islam from 1934 until his death in 1975) had given him the new name of Muhammad Ali.”
