A great-grandmother has claimed she is the world’s oldest living person – after telling officials she has celebrated her 120th birthday.
Pictures have emerged of Tanzilya Bisembeyeva with her family in the village of Alcha in Krasny Yar district in the region of Astrakhan, southern Russia.
The widow is said to have been born in 1896 and, if her claims are true, she beats the current Guinness World Record holder, Italian Emma Morano, by more than three years. Local media in Astrakhan reports that her family say her secret is: ‘She never sits down, doesn’t smoke and eats only organic food.
They have said that Bisembeyeva survived the Russian Revolution, World War I, World War II and two husbands.
Forty-nine-year old Jafaru Sogei, who allegedly killed Rose, his wife of 26 years, last Friday, may be “mentally unstable”, the police said yesterday.
Acting spokesman of Lagos Command Chukwuma Ozoani, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said there was possibility that the suspect is mentally unstable because he can barely speak for now.
“We are carrying out various tests on him. There is the possibility that he might be mentally unstable. He might have psychiatric problem. He is in police hospital; we are checking his mental health. It is an all inclusive thing. He cannot stand on his own nor speak what we understand.
“He only looks and murmurs and so we are going the extra mile to look at the issues and observe him.”
Sogei was said to have ingested a poisonous chemical after allegedly slashing his wife’s throat and was found vomiting in the bathroom at about 4am.
It was gathered that he attempted to set the body ablaze before his son, Richard, saw him and raised the alarm. Richard found his mother’s body when he went into the room to tell her that his father may be sick.
Neighbours quickly held Sogei, who was subsequently arrested by policemen.
The police rushed him to the hospital when his condition became critical.The police initially thought the suspect was on drugs, but later discovered that he might have ingested poison as his health was deteriorating.
“He was rushed to the hospital and has been there since then. There is a possibility he is mentally unstable. Our psychiatric doctors are checking him. He is not in a good state at all. He took poison. He is not well so we are treating him at the police hospital.
“You cannot investigate someone who is at the point of death. But once he recovers, we would begin investigation into the case,” said a source.
It was gathered that Abiodun Odude, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of the SCIID spent several hours in the hospital on Saturday and yesterday.
Before the incident, it was learnt that Sogei had been warning his wife to stop collecting gifts from her relatives for the family’s upkeep.
The suspect, who is said to be jobless, had reportedly assaulted his wife and mother of his five children on some occasions for alleged infidelity.
According to Richard, who spoke with reporters last Friday, the suspect started acting strangely after allegedly killing his wife.
He said:
“My three siblings, our aunt and I slept in the living room, while dad and mum were inside. Around 4am, dad called me from the bathroom. I went to meet him but he did not say anything. I went outside to urinate and when I came back, I checked the bathroom and saw him lying down, vomiting some black substance and excreting on his body. I think he poisoned himself. I told my aunt to wake mum up to attend to him. But she didn’t wake up. I shone a flashlight on her and saw blood on the bed with a wide cut in her neck. I fainted when we discovered she was dead.
“We later asked dad how it happened, he said somebody entered and did it whereas the compound gate is always locked in the night.
“It was mum that took care of us. She was the one sponsoring my elder brother, Collins, who just gained admission into a university in Abia State. I don’t know our fate now.
“The landlord of our former house on Michael Street sent us out because dad always quarrelled with mum. We were also sent away from Banjoko Street for the same reason.”
After spending six weeks in intensive care, little Roman, Rocco and Rohan look so similar one can not tell them apart. The odds of having identical triplets is an incredible 200 million to one.
Fortunately for their 23-year-old mother, tell-tale features plus the ten-month-old triplets’ emerging personalities mean she for one has no trouble telling them apart.
‘When they were newborns it was quite hard to tell which one was which, but I never got them mixed up myself,’‘They’ve all got dark birthmarks between their eyebrows, but Roman’s is slightly darker than the others’, and Rohan has got a birthmark on his leg as well.
According to the Multiple Births Foundation, the only way to establish for certain whether twins or triplets are identical – known as zygosity determination – is usually DNA testing.
After consulting them, Miss Allen took cheek swabs from Roman, Rocco and Rohan and sent them off to a laboratory to be analysed – and earlier this month received the news that they are genetically identical.
I was surprised because I expected them to be non-identical,’ she said. ‘But then I’m normally the only one who can tell them apart, so that does explain a lot!’
The triplets get through around 130 nappies a week between them and four packs of baby wipes, while a pack of formula lasts about two days and the washing machine is run around three times a day.
As their father, Liam Tierney, 28, does not live with her, much of the day to day help comes from her sister Lauren, 17.

Yeni Kuti, the daughter of late Afro-beat legend, Fela Kuti, has gotten engaged to her partner of five years, Theo Lawson, at a surprise birthday party held in Lagos.
According to TheNet.ng, the party, held on May 24, 2016, was organised by the duo of Mallam Abdul Okwechime and Akin Adeoya, the owners of the Prince of Anthony Hotels, where the event was held.
Yeni, who is also the eldest child of Fela Kuti, was treated to a lavish party witnessed by family and close friends.
At the event were Dr. Dotun Ransome-Kuti, Seun Kuti, Kunle Kuti and Femi Kuti, who gave an unexpected musical performance.
The party was held shortly after Yeni finished her programme, “Your View” which was aired on TVC, TheNet reports.

Nigerian-American rapper, Wale, has expressed his admiration over the musical dexterity of his countrymen, Davido, Wizkid and Olamide, by stating that he is proud of them.
Wale was interviewed on American radio station, Hot 97, where he talked about the good music quality of Nigerian artistes and how he tried to get Wizkid signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label.
He said:
“I’m proud of Davido and Wizkid, and Olamide”.
“There’s a lot of dope artistes coming out of there. I know it was going to get there, because Nigeria’s got like a whole 60% of the swag in Africa come from Nigeria, and I have always known Wizkid.”

Ten suspected members of the militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, have been arrested by operatives of Nigerian Army.
The Commander of 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier-General Farouk Yahaya, who paraded the suspected militants on Sunday at the Brigade headquarters in Benin, Edo state, said they were arrested at about 1:40am on Saturday, in Oporaza community, Warri South-West local government area of Delta state, following a cordon and search operation conducted in the community.
He said the operation was part of efforts to check the spate of renewed attacks on oil and gas installations in the Niger Delta region.
Items recovered from the suspects include 28 detonator cords (also known Detonator 33), one pistol, two empty pistol magazines, 196 rounds of 7.62 special ammunition, one round of nine-millimetre ammunition, a live cartridge and five daggers.
Others are 15 hand-held radio sets, 18 phones, 203 SIM cards belonging three major network providers, five swimsuits, two headlamps, a laptop, two ipads and a camera.
Besides, the army also recovered seven wraps of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, five speedboat throttle cables, six pairs of hand gloves, a cash sum of N23,000 and a cheque book.

The lady at the top right corner is that kids teacher , she flogged her mercilessly just because the 4 year old girl did the class work wrongly , the teachers name is Mrs eno , the proprietress name Mrs lagunoke and the school is Lydia spring private school. Popo street tejuosho yaba Lagos .
The little girl was flogged to the eyes she now has a red eyed due to the Cain which entered her left eye. She’s had swollen and reddish skin due to the flogging .
This is mean , no one should do this to little kids while trying to teach them at their respective schools .
Upon all this , Mrs Eno the perpetrator and the proprietress named Mrs lagunoke are not feeling any remorse for the action .

Abigail, one of the victims of a Libya based human trafficking ring operating in Nigeria, has died, days after she was rescued from a prostitution cartel in Libya.
It was reported that 26yrs old Abigail, a Nigerian lady from the South-South, was among more than 500 girls trafficked to Libya for prostitution by a Nigerian syndicate allegedly led by a couple, Alhaji Muritala Sanni and his wife Alhaja Lateefat Sanni, who are now on the run.
According to Mirror, Tunde Oshokoya, a human rights activist and private investigator who worked with the Alliance of Rights Defenders (ARD), a non-profit organisation based in Lagos involved in rescuing three of the trafficked girls revealed Abigail’s death.
He said “It is with heavy heart that we announce Abigail’s passing. She died after a brief illness she came down with while she was in Libya. Since we rescued her, we took her for treatment but she gave up the ghost. “It is sad that ARD, an NGO took up the responsibility to rescue and rehabilitate trafficked victims without any assistance from government”. Barrister Ojay Akinwale, the Chief Executive Officer of ARD expressed sadness over the death and urged government to take human trafficking seriously.
Mirror had reported that Abigail was among three trafficked victims rescued from prostitution in Libya by ARD. She had claimed in the interview that she was trafficked to Libya in 2013, after she was lured there to work as an Auxiliary nurse.
She also claimed that she was forced to abort about 320 pregnancies for girls working for the prostitution ring in Libya. Abigail who was very ill during the interview had expressed fear that she would die if she exposed the Libya human trafficking syndicate.
She added that soon after her rescue, she received a threat from the syndicate in Libya that she will die if she exposed them. In spite of the threat, Abigail went ahead and narrated her ordeal in the hands of the traffickers.”

Yesterday, Osas Ighodar-Ajibade stepped out for the Miss USA Nigeria beauty pageant held at the Norton Symphony Space Theater in Broadway, New York, and the Tinsel actress looked absolutely amazing rocking her massive baby bump.
Sorry, to bother you, but I just had to get this off my chest.
I recently got married, just little over a year ago. I have had no reason not to trust my husband, in fact I could trust him with my life.
My problem started last week when I borrowed his laptop to complete some office work. I found his WhatsApp web was logged in, so out of curiosity, I decided to take a peek.
What I found was worrying, I saw lots of messages from women who were literally asking my husband out, planning dates and meet up venues, even when they are all well aware that he is married.
Since then I have been paranoid, every word from his mouth becomes suspicious, I get angry at him for no reason; I don’t know whether to confront him, because I feel like he’s just going to lie to me, I’m very confused , somebody help me.
