Nollywood actress Chika Ike is bereaved. She announced to her fans today that she lost her mother to the cold hands of death. Eulogizing the late Mrs Ike, Chika wrote:
“RIP Mum. Saying I am going to miss you is an understatement, I can’t still believe you are gone , I sit here wondering if I’m in a dream and waiting for someone to pinch me . You thought me how to be strong, giving, loyal, compassionate and driven. You told me that there is nothing impossible to do. You made me the woman I am today. I am most grateful to you. I will miss you greatly . I know you are watching over me and you will always live on. Love you mum.”
Today, Stella Nyanzi of Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR) got locked out of her office at the Makerere University, and in protest, the very popular professor stripped naked, recorded the video and shared it on social media.
According to Nyanzi, her boss Mamhood Mamdani wanted her to teach at the university when she was only contracted to do research works. “I have thrown my clothes outside Prof. Mamdani’s office. I am naked as I cry out for my office,” she said on Facebook where she posted the video.
The professor also said she chained herself before the school gave into her demands.
According to Uganda’s New Vision, the Ethics and integrity state minister Simon Lokodo has ordered Nyanzi’s arrest for stripping naked in public. The media house also gave details of Nyanzi’s stand off with the university.
In his statement, Mamdani said Nyanzi had agreed to teach the PhD programmes in her 2011 application for the post of Research Fellow at MISR, a claim the scholar denied. You can read up the rest of the report here.
Meanwhile, for breaking community rules, Nyanzi has been locked out of her page by Facebook and has now launched a public figure page. “They have blocked my 2 accounts,” she wrote, adding, “but i’m back with a new page….thanx for staying with me.”
North Koreans have been banned from having piercings and face new restrictions on ‘Western clothing’ including jeans as their dictator leader, Kim Jong-un, has launched a nationwide crackdown on citizens. According to Japan’s Asia Press, the rules have been tightened ahead of the 7th Congress of North Korea’s Workers’ Party.
Ishimaru Jiro, a Japanese journalist working with citizen reporters inside North Korea, wrote: ‘A growing number of North Korean people are infatuated with Western culture. The crackdown will continue until the end of the upcoming gathering (the 7th Congress).’
According to the Daily Telegraph, citizens will be monitored by a growing group of youths loyal to Kim Jong-un.

Reporting threats (incitements) like this is vital to your safety because it is coming from a celebrity who has lot of fans which could lead to something awful just like you said. But Aunty, in your first epistle debunking the Wizkid’s claim (you called it 1000% lies but then more than 80% of your gossip posts are 1,000,000% lies) that you slept with his director (not my business though because I don’t care who you sleep with, some are saying it’s Sesan shaa *winks*), you mentioned that Wizkid’s PR team approached you but you rebuffed them blah blah… why didn’t you reach them (Wizkid or his PR team) after you felt he threatened you before going to the Police? You’re Linda Ikeji Aunty, I am pretty sure if you’d reached him, you could’ve thrashed this alleged beef and made him release a public apology to you over the threats.

How many times have you apologized for defaming people on your blog? In your multimillion banana island home, how many times have you paused to think of those who have gone traumatic after their stories (truth/false) ended on your blog? You mentioned that you can take insults on your parents but not threats! Wow as a kid then, the biggest cause of fights on street was insulting one’s parents.
So you take insults lightly mainly because you post bullshit about others on your blog as well too ba? If so, why are you worried over slut-shaming? If insults don’t get to you, then tagging you a hoe or smelly p***y shouldn’t have made it into your epistle. Now that you have called in the authorities, are you prepared for countless libel and defamation court cases that could follow? Are you willing to sell your Banana Island house to start paying damages to victims of defamation from your blog?

Nollywood actor Nonso Diobi was involved in a car crash yesterday in Lagos, and the actor announced moments ago that he suffered a fracture in his leg.
“[I] had an accident yesterday evening, my leg all plastered up,” he wrote, and then made a cryptic rant about ‘true friends’ and how one goes through certain experiences before they can find them.
Diobi also made a call for help, asking fans to come to his aide, pleading for them to help him in healing faster.

Some 25 Nigerians have returned their WAEC results which they say they passed because they cheated.
The Sun confirms that the citizens are ‘born again’ Christians who sat for the examination at school or private centres, and that the results were ‘acquired through fraudulent means’. And so, to obey the doctrine of restitution, they decided to return the results.
The breakdown of the year of examination revealed that the examinations include both those taken during the May/June and the November/December timetable. One of the candidates’ result dates back to 1980.
This is not the first time candidates would be returning their results. In 2014, 15 Christians did same, confirming that they committed fraud.

General Overseer of the Church of Rabbi is urging Nigerian prophet, TB Joshua to stop the activities of Islamist group, Boko Haram in Nigeria if he wants his prophecies to be taken seriously.
Prophet Kwabena Tawiah said he is baffled at how the supposed prophet did nothing and now the Boko Haram insurgents have infiltrated and carried out several bombings in Nigeria.
In his view, TB Joshua who is the head of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) should concentrate on driving away Boko Haram from Nigeria and “leave Ghana alone”.
Prophet Kwabena Tawiah’s comment is in reaction to TB Joshua’s prophecy of an eminent attack on Ghana and Nigeria.
Last Sunday, the renowned prophet asked his congregation to pray against the attack which could happen either on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
The Nigerian Prophet was emphatic in prophesying that, “I see Thursday, Friday. Pray for these two nations – Nigeria and Ghana – over gathering in any way; over an attack. I am seeing the attack and that will be in a foreign way. The attack will come not in a local way. So please open your lips and pray for these two nations for protection.”
But his prophecy has been met with a lot of criticisms with many religious bodies including the Christian Council calling on security agencies to ignore it since Ghana cannot run on “the back of prophecies.”
In support, the outspoken Kwabena Tawiah stressed that the prophecy must be treated with the contempt it deserves.
Describing TB Joshua’s prophecy as unnecessary, the Church of Rabbi leader said assuming without admitting that the prophecy is true, God would have revealed it to a Ghanaian prophet and not a foreigner.
“What is TB Joshua saying; he should leave Ghana alone and concentrate on Boko Haram in Nigeria” he fumed.
Rather, Kwabena Tawiah called on TB Joshua to support President Buhari with his prophecies to help arrest the Boko Haram insurgents terrorizing citizens in Nigeria.

Late Barrister Akpowene Emakpo, from Rivers State, was set to have a traditional wedding on Saturday, April 9, 2016, and her white wedding last Saturday, April 16, 2016.
She had shared her wedding card invite on Facebook before the tragic death
After announcing her engagement to Elvis Etta Enagu on March 11, 2016 and shared her wedding invitation on her Facebook page on March 29, she tragically died few days to the wedding after a brief illness.
A Muslim woman who had converted to Christianity for love, has has a most cruel form of punishment handed to her for the act by Muslim fanatics.
The woman, identified simply as Marwa was brutally murdered by her own people.
According to Eshhad, an online platform that collates alleged religious persecution and sectarian attacks in Egypt, Marwa fell in love with a Coptic Christian man after being divorced by her Muslim husband. She converted to Christianity, married her Christian love and they went on to live in a distant village in Tamia.
In 3 years, she had a boy and a girl. When she was however 2-months pregnant, Marwa was killed by her uncle and cousins when she made a short visit back to Alexandria.
Eshhad reports that the couple decided to visit their old church back in Alexandria and while they were there, Marwa’s daughter from the first husband saw her. The unnamed daughter was said to have been very angry seeing her mother without the usual Hijab and other things which signify a true Muslima. The girl went ahead to inform her mother’s uncle and brother and they decide to ‘cease’ Marwa.
According to their tradition, to cease means to kidnap the convert and take him/her to a family home where they are expected to denounce their Christian faith.
This did not end there as the Muslim community decided to fight the people of Tamia for ‘harboring a fugitive and converting Marwa from Islam to Christianity’. Marwa’s Muslim family were also said to have ordered all Christians living in Tamia to evacuate the village in 10days.
Eshhad reports that the uncle then forced Marwa’s youngest sister to “kill her to ‘punish’ her for her conversion [to Christianity].”
Al-Masry Al-Youm, however, reports that it was the uncle that killed Marwa.
Following the murder, Marwa’s father went to the police to inform them of the murder. However, the uncle is reportedly on the run.
Yvonne Omoarebokhae, the gospel singer who died in a hotel room in Benin was killed by cardiac arrest. Autopsy carried out by the doctors show that the late Omoarebokhae died as a result of midnight heart attack.
Apostle Psalm Okpe Of Fresh Oil Ministry in Lagos, who invited her for the programme has been in detention following Omoarebokhae’s sudden demise.
An insider told DAILY POST that an autopsy has since been carried out on the deceased and that the result showed she had a cardiac arrest in the middle of the night, which eventually led to her death.
According to him:
“The autopsy result shows the late Mrs. Omoarebokhae died as a result of cardiac arrest. She was neither poisoned nor stabbed as widely reported because there was no stain of blood on her body.”
He further said Agatu-born Benue State fiery preacher had since been released from detention.
“There will be a press conference at the Edo State Police Command on Monday, April 18 on the matter,” the insider further added
The deceased reportedly lodged in the same hotel with the Lagos-based pastor in Benin hours before her death. According to her husband, Mr Omoarebokhae, his wife and Apostle Okpe met each other on Facebook and after several months of chatting, the pastor invited her to perform at a program in Warri Delta state.
The widower said Okpe promised to take Yvonne to South Africa. On Friday around 10am, Yvonne called her husband to tell him she would be home soon. That was the last night he heard from her.
At about 9:30pm, Mr Omoarbokhae received another call from the police that his wife’s corpse has been deposited at the Benin Central Hospital mortuary.

The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ipokia local government area of Ogun state, Alhaji Saruku Suraju popularly known as “Aro Meta” has died in a hotel after a fling with a woman.
PM News gathers that he died at the De Lover Hotel, located at Aseko area, Ibatefin in Ipokia on Friday night. It was reliably gathered that the deceased and his mistress, who has since fled, were together at the hotel.
The 68-year old man until is death was the PDP Chairman in Ipokia local government area.
He was said to be among those to be conferred with Islamic chieftaincy titles today at Ibatefin Central Mosque.
A family source, confirmed that the man died in a hotel while his mistress, who no one knows fled without any trace.
“The incident happened around 9:00pm on Friday and we have buried him yesterday according to Islamic rite“Yes, he died at De Lover hotel. What I know was that, his party, PDP is to have the final meeting of those to be elected as officers of the party in their forthcoming Congress.“He was on his way to the meeting when they said, a lady called him on his phone and asked him to join her at the hotel. It was his dead body that was later taken out from the hotel with series of information flying around.
According to the family source,
“Some said he might have contracted thunderbolt, “Magun”, a charm laid for partners who are adulterous.

If not for the wealth of experience of Police Inspector, Christian Onawona, attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command, six innocent people including two children, would have been shot and mistook as robbers by operatives at Ogudu Ori-Oke, Ogudu, Lagos.
A woman, Lauretta Ehon, suddenly ran to inform RRS operatives patrolling the axis at about 17:30 hrs over the weekend, that some armed robbers just snatched her Toyota Camry car 2012.
Immediately, the police officer followed her to give the supposed fleeing robbers a chase.
On the trail of the robbers, there was a hectic traffic but in order to catch up with the thieves, the officer alighted from his official vehicle and mounted a motor bike to chase the acclaimed reported robbers.
However, the occupants of the car, which was being chased never had an inkling that they were on the verge of being mistook for robbery and that the police was trailing them.
In order to prevent the robbers from taking the vehicle with registration number, EP 932 KRD away, the officer shot into air. Upon hearing the gunshot fired by the officer, the driver of the vehicle applied the brake instantly.
Then, the police officer cautiously approached the supposedly stolen vehicle only to discover that the occupants were three female, one male and two children. At this point, the police officer got to know that the complainant raised a false alarm.
The occupants of the vehicle were, Sekinat Sanni, Wasiu Balogun, Bisola Balogun and Rukayat Joseph. The little children were, Sameer Balogun and Motunrayo Joseph of one and two year old respectively, all family going on social outing.
The story later turned out to be faraway from the truth.
What really transpired between the woman that raised false alarm and the owner of the 2012 Camry car was a mere business transaction which occurred about six years ago.
The husband to the woman who raised the false alarm and the owner of the car transacted a business which had to do with clearing of a Tokunbo car from oversea.
Unfortunately, the vehicle went into demurrage after the client (Mr Ehon) paid the clearing agent, (Mr Balogun). And between the duo, they have settled the matter amicably for both of them worked in the same company in Apapa.
But to his paranoid wife, she had promised that she will collect the money from the clearing agent whenever she
sets eyes on him.
On the day of incident, the woman saw him and started threatening to snuff life out of him. But unknowingly to the woman, the man was not inside the car when she raised the false alarm but his family members were the occupants of the car.
In her reaction, one of the lucky occupants of the car, Bisola Balogun, who was visibly elated said that she was full of praises to the officer who pursued them for not have misused his firearm.
“In fact, I am still at shock. If it were to be another police officer, it is possible that he might shoot our car and anything could have happened. We thank God and appreciate the officer for applying uncommon wisdom in handling the matter”, she added.

A teenage girl is recovering after she was grabbed and bitten by a tiger for 40 minutes when she reportedly banged on the big cat’s cage.
Elizaveta Kutkina was trapped by the predator through the bars of its cage at the zoo in the Russian city of Barnaul, the Siberian Times reports..
The screaming 13-year-old was grabbed by her coat by the Siberian tiger, as he pulled her closer and then began to maul her legs.
But zookeepers claimed the teenager and a friend, in an act of “childish stupidity“, had incited the tiger by going too close and banging on its enclosure

The schoolgirl was saved because the tiger could not bite or claw her properly though the bars.
But she was held for 40 minutes unable to escape despite frantic attempts by half a dozen bystanders in Lesnaya Skazkapark zoo in the Siberian city.
Eyewitness Anastasia Ptichkina said two girls had banged on the tiger’s cage after the zoo had closed.
“One of them turned out to be supper for the big cat,” she said.
“Luckily there were six or seven people in the park.The tiger gnawed through the screaming girl’s leg muscles,All were shocked and tried to save the girl, but the tiger only became more angry and it gnawed her leg more aggressively.It was impossible to watch how it gnarled and licked her leg.Police and doctors also could hardly do anything. Thanks to the guys who managed to distract the animal. They even bought a piece of meat in the shop.
Zoo officials said the tiger would not be shot despite the attack on the girl.

President Robert Mugabe is now a proud granddaddy at the age of 92 after his daughter, Bona, gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday, April 16, in Dubai, The Zimbabwe Standard reports.
A conflicting report by Zimbabwe Independent says she gave birth in Singapore.
Last week, Mugabe was quoted in the state-run media as saying Bona was heavily pregnant and his wife Grace had traveled to be with their daughter.
According to local media, the good news was disclosed by Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister, Prisca Mufumira at a Zanu PF Makonde inter-district meeting yesterday.
Bona was spotted heavily pregnant in a pink maternity dress in January when she appeared at State House where Mugabe was launching a book containing a collection of speeches by Tanzania’s founding president Julius Nyerere.
Bona is married to Simba Chikore, a pilot, in a lavish wedding which took place on March 1 2014. Their traditional marriage took place in Zvimba – Mugabe’s rural home about 96km north west of the capital in August 2013.
Though she started acting since 1998, runs a spa on Allen Avenue, owns a film production outfit, manages a non-profit organisation called Pinkies, nothing compares to the new luxurious lifestyle that Iyabo Ojo currently lives.
