Happy mothers gave birth to children in the early hours of 2016, ushering in the new year with wonderful bundles of joy.
Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Bolanle Ambode visited the Epe General Hospital, Ibeju Lekki General Hospital and Lagos Island Maternity Hospital where she presented gifts to the first babies born in the early hours of the New Year. During her visit, she said one of the greatest gifts of God to humanity is the birth of a new baby, just as she reminded that God does not forget or abandon his own.
“The birth of a new baby is no doubt a sign that God does not forget or abandon his own, hence his magnanimity in making people flourish by enabling and allowing new babies come into the earth”
First Lady Ambode thereafter presented gifts to Amarachi Bright, who delivered a baby girl at Epe General Hospital at 12.01 am, Adeleke Abosede that also delivered a baby girl at exact 12:03am in Ibeju Lekki General Hospital and Okunowo Oluwakemi at Lagos Island Maternity Hospital to a baby boy at 12:01am.
She congratulated the parents and prayed that the babies would fulfill their destinies on earth just as she lauded the effort of National Population Commission (NPC) for their physical presence which added colour to the ceremony with the instant registration and issuance of birth certificate to the babies.
She urged the new mums to ensure they observe the mandatory exclusive breastfeeding period of six months, a feat she said if adhered to, will make their babies healthy and good looking.

A 25-year-old man, Abubakar Ibrahim, is currently being detained by the police in Taraba State for allegedly killing his two-months-old baby because he did not want to accept it because it was born out of wedlock by his lover.
The incident which happened at Unguwan Yandan in Jalingo, the state capital, according to information, occurred after Ibrahim failed to take care of the baby and the woman who delivered the child for him out of wedlock.
It was learnt that the suspect and the child’s mother, Karshe Harmuel, also 25, were living together as lovers before she got pregnant but when she was close to her Expected Day of Delivery (EDD), she left him to live with her uncle.
After she gave birth to a baby boy, Harmuel’s family members said Ibrahim ended the relationship and left her to take care of the baby.
The mother narrated that she had gone to meet Ibrahim on the fateful day to demand for money to buy soap and baby lotion and in the heat of anger, she left the baby behind, not knowing that he had a sinister motive in his mind.
“When I met him in the room, I asked him why he abandoned us. I told him since he decided to jilt me, he had to take care of his son. As I realised that he was not willing to listen to me, I left the baby with him and returned home.
A few minutes after I went back to pick my baby, I saw the man choking the neck of the baby.”
Harmuel’s uncle’s wife, Cecilia Hosea, said she urged Karshe to go back and pick her child.
“I asked Karshe to go back and pick the baby. When she brought back the baby, I collected the child. I then saw white fluid coming out from his month. I noticed that the baby had died. Karshe did not know that she was carrying a dead baby.”
Her uncle, John Hosea, who took care of her and the child, said he travelled to the village when the incident happened.
I was in the village when the incident happened. If I were at home when Karshe decided to take the baby to the man, I would not have allowed her.
I did not even know the man, I just saw him today at the police station and I told them at the station that the man was lucky I was in the village when he killed my grandchild, because I would have taken a revenge on him.
The man is very wicked, because since Karshe delivered, he only came to see her once, when he gave her N1,700 and told her that he named the child Ali.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Joseph Kwaji, confirmed the incident, adding that the baby’s body had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo, for autopsy and that the suspect was in police custody.
If prophesies coming from the spiritual leader of the Omega Fire Ministries are anything to go by, then the Nigerian political class is in for many tragedies in 2016.
According to the president of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, who spoke in a statement signed by his media adviser, Mr Phrank Shaibu, said the nation will witness many heart rending political developments this year.
The cleric said a sitting governor of one of the 36 states of the federation will not see the end of the new year, declaring that, “we have to pray, if not a governor of one of the 36 states may not see the end of 2016, ” in a prediction which is one of his 30 Shocking Predictions for the Year 2016.
He also predicted that scores of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministers may be absent from cabinet meetings for a good part of the year for health related issues.
According to him: “ I don’t see some Ministers in President Buhari’s Cabinet in office in 2016. They will be abroad for medicals”.
Apostle Suleiman also warned the United States of America against possible terrorist attacks in the cities of Washington and New York.
He also predicted the possibility of an epic political upheaval in the United States, the outcome of which may be unimaginable. He said President Barack Obama may seek a third term in office, a move which will throw up issues relating to marital laws.
Apostle Suleiman also said the United States may go to war with Russia in 2016.
Some of Apostle Suleiman’s predictions below:

Here are few celebrities we are hoping would get hitched this year.
D’BANJ
Bangalee is everyone’s favorite eligible bachelor and although he already asked us not to rush him into marriage as he would get married when he is ready and not because people want him to, dating high profiled women and being one of the top notch entertainers has however put him in our radar.
We all can’t wait to see which kokolet will get hooked to D’banj.
RITA DOMINIC
Rita Dominic is over 40, and the star actress is still looking in her 20’s.
We’d really love to see Rita Dominic get hooked this year, Hopefully it would be to Ramsey Nouah. Lol
– There will be large scale scarcity, shortage of food. As a state, country, continent, we have to go back to the farm to arrest, to alleviate the forthcoming situation.
– Some countries will suffer excessive rainfall while others will suffer drought.
– I encourage the governments of all nations to invest in agriculture and to grant loans to deserving citizens to augment this effort.
The continent of Africa. How much have we disappointed God.
– Africa is supposed to be the breadbasket of the world. We are supposed to produce a large quantum of food for the world. This is our natural resource base. Food should be our primary export to other continents. Food in exchange for technology.
Politics
– African leaders should quickly arrest the political situation.
– More African countries will be under siege by terrorists because of pros and cons in choosing leaders. Mishandling of electoral processes will create a conducive atmosphere for terrorists.
– Politics will not be business as usual because of limited resources. There will be no profit in investing in politics because of governments’ limited resources and challenges.
– This now gives grace to those who are genuinely called to the job. When you are genuinely called to do the job, you will do it because of your love for it and not because of money.
– This year, do what you love. There’s money in love. Money in love brings peace and tranquility.
Pray for President Buhari
He has good intentions. A king’s intentions cannot be carried out properly without the support of the subjects. He needs your support, to lead us out of the valley.
The president will do everything to reject revaluation of the naira – which is a good idea from a good leader. But there will be overwhelming pressure which he will not be able to resist.
Nigerians, support and pray for your leader. The future is crying for help.

Starboy Wizkid is one of the many African Music Acts that really had a great 2015!
The young talented singer took to social media to reflect on some of his successes in 2015!
Wizkid wrote, “2015 U been too good to me! Drake jumped on my record!! Alicia keys called me to perform with her, I got a feature on majorlazer album…. #2015!! I played too many shows I lost count! I’m alive and healthy!
#2015 Got mama everything she wanted! #2015 I Can’t explain !!! 2016 I’m ready my g!”
Nobody hears the noise in the kitchen when the pot cooks the cocoyam until the pestle starts pounding it.
It came as a surprise to me that you, who so much avoid the press in every ‘izzue’ engaging you with women affairs since your success in the music industry, have solely reported yourself consciously, about an affair that happened more than a year ago with a woman, who is the mother of your child, and can’t be qualified as being educated as you.
Even after apologizing (and claiming to quit music over the ‘izzue’), I still don’t understand if you really want this ‘izzue’ you’re fighting for or if you only wanted a good time the night (or whatever time of the day) it started.
After reading all statements from you, the complainant Sophia, and her spokesman Dele Momodu, down to the social rants that intruded later on the subject matter, I felt like the DPO of a local police station, settling a case presented from the incidents of your nightmares. Firstly, this is a family case and has no right to attract the public interest.
Secondly, in one page, you ceaselessly pleaded for freedom more than Mandela and in another page reluctantly accepted blames on same ‘izzue’.
All your inviting proclaims on social media on the ‘izzue’ invited no one to think, but rather imagined you were idolized, seduced, raped and framed by Sophia, as no comment of yours has yet accepted the affair with her was mutual (as you claim the truth of the ‘izzue’ is yet to be known) – neglecting exposing secret lies of your baby mama’s lifestyle, an inferior to your class.
Telling me a lady took advantage of you, at your current age of 21, is a reason to forcefully take the resultant baby, is like stressing how you lost on Nairabet’s virtual game stakes because of incomplete time.
On a second thought, I believed in you when you had previous controversial cases involving Wizkid and Mc Galaxy. I’m about to believe in you not having a relationship with Sophia, as I’m thinking she neither agreed for you to use condoms nor contraceptives for her during and after your casual love making with her.
The partial responsibility you took on the ‘izzue’ by accepting to be paying Sophia three hundred thousand naira monthly made me believe you are a “money-miss-road” boy who is suffering from what his ignorance and carelessness caused.
Setting up this whole ‘izzue’ and ending it in hours made me assume you are calling on me to bear witness with you again after robbers attacked you in South Africa because of your “posting-cash-online” unrelenting habit.
This must have been a great burden for you as a young aspiring legend, who seeks a sketched career through a closed compass.
Regarding your recent song, ‘Izzue’, featuring Dammy Krane, your lyrics weren’t clear enough until now: you wanted no ‘izzue’, but a hide and seek game in which the lady can come to the bedroom and then you ‘izzue’ everything she requests for; right?.
This case is no different as it still baffles me how you neglected your own words and that of your family, only to hear mine. Social Services Organizations or Child Care Agencies should have been called upon to address this ‘izzue’.
It’s so sad to note that you have no better benefits from this taboo you called ‘izzue’ than worries, side effects, and confessions to proclaim.
Notwithstanding, this drama that has you as the main character with an online setting, has no direct positive moral lessons for youths or aspiring musicians who tend to follow your lead, but affirmed the fact one must be preyed by the present hardship in Nigeria.
Your first class grade in the university couldn’t guarantee that you’re educated, as you played a vital role in demoralizing Nigerian youths through this unwanted drama. It all reminded me you have to reap what you sowed.
Just a word of advice, focus on your work and stop jumping about, except you’re ready to marry – women are valueless distractions to a growing music career. Lastly, I hope you drop your childish characters this year’s end, since you believe a 21 year old can’t take decisions until 23.
AQUILA RECORDS’ lyrical machine-gun, popularly know as BASE ONE is definitely not on to sleep on as he releases two new singles titled “SKON SKON” & “WEYRE RE RMX”.
BASE ONE comes on strong in a different light from what fans are used to on a dance beat laced by Aquila Records’ resident producer, PHANTOM. This one is for dance enthusiasts and is sure to rock dance floors in Nigeria and beyond. SKON SKON is mixed and mastered by T FRIZZLE.
On the monster remix to the hit single WEREY RE, Base One features hiphop heavyweights PHYNO & OLAMIDE to deliver arguably the best hiphop collaboration of 2015. The song is produced, mixed and mastered by XBLAZE.
“I released two songs, one featuring two of the best Nigerian rap artists, called ‘Weyrey Re O remix’ and the other one for my fans to dance to, called ‘Skon Skon’, because they both have different rhythms and different directions, coupled with the fact that they both promote my alter ego, the MAD-MAN”, saysBase One.
2015 has indeed been a good year for BASE ONE with acknowledgements and recognition for notable names like MI, Don Jazzy and Funke “Jenifa” Akindele, crowned with a nomination for Headies Rookie Of The Year alongside Pepenazi, Ycee, Young GreyC, Humblesmith & Koker.”
As we are about to enter the new year, it’s only right that we leave the old year with good memories; memories like showing kindness to one another or reconciling with that person you holding a grudge with… It’s needful that we end the year blissfully!
Ini Edo is definitely not lagging behind on this as she hits her stunning style game one more time before she waves 2015 goodbye!
The stunning actress is as breathtaking as can be in a black jacket, jeans and her gorgeous new Sophia webster shoes.
I am desperate and need honest advise from Matured people. I met this wonderful 32yr Old French guy in a party in PH, we exchanged contacts and we started dating almost immediately.
I like him but I don’t love him, but he loves me and can gladly die for me.
Sometimes I feel sorry for him when he begs me not to leave him. he left Nigeria 6months later and has been gone for 2yrs and all these time we talk, Skype and bbm round the clock so it felt like he is still here.
He even shares his salary with me monthly.
He proposed to me last year, I accepted he sent down a ring which I have never worn because I know my heart still yarns for a man that I will be crazy over.
A man that I can die for. so I met this young politician that I have known all my life but never talked to. he asked me out, I accepted and we started dating, he was nothing like my fiancée, he didn’t care how I feel, hardly calls, always busy. so disrespectful, I guess the heart is foolish because I felt for this politician in 1wk what I couldn’t feel for my fiancée in 3yrs.
I was happy, I was in love, I had everything I wanted. I couldn’t tell my fiancée because I was afraid he would have a heart attack to I just kept in there hoping that when my new girl proposes I will eventually let my French guy go either by changing my contact or somehow. but I realised this month that I am pregnant. I told my bf but the next morning he uploaded a pics of he and his gf. I almost died.
I pinged him to ask what’s up and he boldly told me it’s his gf. I have never been so heartbroken, what do I do with the pregnancy, what will I tell the French guy, where do I go from here.
I just got admission for my Msc in September in Uk. my fiancée will certainly meet me up before 1 week of my arrival. please people help me.
President Muhammadu Buhari held his first Presidential Media Chat on Wednesday fielding questions about some of the key issues in the country from the whereabouts of the Chibok girls, the Nigerian Army-Shiites clash and pressure to devalue the naira.
Here are some key comments by the President:
On the clash between Shi’ites and the Nigerian Army in Zaria and his silence
i. I have allowed the army and the Kaduna State government to come up with their reports before I come out to speak on the clash. This does not mean that the police and the DSS are not doing their part.
ii. The situation in Zaria is very serious… How can one group create a state within a state?
On the state of tertiary institutions
I don’t like the idea of University students sitting on windows to receive lectures.
On whether he actually promised to pay unemployed youths N5,000
I cannot come here and deny that.
Foreign exchange restrictions
I. We need power, railways, roads… These are our priorities; not people looking for money to bring in rice (to the country).
II.Foreign exchange will be made available to the productive sector of the economy and not for luxury items.
On calls for the devaluation of the Naira
I need to be convinced about devaluing the Naira.
On asset declaration
I declared my assets four times… I don’t have to ask them (Code of Conduct Bureau) to give you the asset declaration… You have a constitutional right to the documents.
On the continued bomb attacks in parts of the North-East
I. The Hijab will have to be banned if this (the suicide bombing) continues.
On the debate about fuel subsidy
By the end of the next quarter, we will not be talking about subsidy. How much is the price of
fuel (in the international market) now?
Reported plans by the National Assembly to spend billions on cars
I cannot see the National Assembly spending N45bn to buy cars on top of the transport allowance they collect.
On the pace of the anti-corruption war
I. Our major constraint is that accused person must go to court first and under such circumstances, we cannot prejudge what the courts will do but there are documents and how the government will react through the Ministry of Justice will determine what we will do because what we are going so we cannot determine issues while they are still in court.
II. If any member of my cabinet is corrupt, I will sack the person.
III. Members of the cabinet are supposed to declare their assets.
On whether funds have been recovered from looters
I. Money has been recovered but the fact that whatever we recover will end up in court because Nigerians will always want to know the truth and the truth will be what the courts have discovered by the submission made to them in terms of bank statements where money was recovered, where money was lodged, when it was lodged, how it was lodged whether it was money from petrol, customs and excise or money directly from the Central Bank. When we do that I think Nigerians will feel a bit better.
II. It is a very nasty situation that we are in, but we cannot fold our hands and not do anything; we are doing our best.
Chibok girls
We are keeping our options open. We are prepared to negotiate with boko haram for the girls… There is no firm intelligence where those girls physically are and what conditions they are in but what we learnt from our intelligence is that they (terrorists) kept on shifting them around so that they are not taken by surprise and they get freed. And a whole lot of them are not in one place and we don’t know how many divisions they have and where they are. There is no intelligence to say that the girls are alive and in one place. That is the honest truth.
On the agitation for Biafra over alleged marginalisation
We have boko haram and then Biafra. Help me define the extent of marginalisation. Who is marginalising them? Why? How? Do you know? … The constitution said there must be a minister from each state. Who is the Minister of Petroleum? Is he not Igbo? Who is the Governor of Central Bank? Is he not Igbo? Who is the Minister of Labour? Who is the Minister of Science and Technology? Who is the junior minister of education?
On the continued detention of suspected looters and alleged violation of court orders by the DSS
You can see the type atrocities that those people committed against soldiers and the country. The former president goes to the governor of the Central Bank and say, ‘give N40bn to so, so, so… And then he fails to account for it and you allow him to go and see his daughter in London while and you have two million people in IDPs, half of them don’t even know their parents. Which kind of country do you want to run?
And the one you are calling Kanu. Do you know he has two passports – one Nigerian, one British – and he came to this country without any passport?… There are criminal allegations against him and I hope the court will listen to the case.

Here an Hilarious Video By MC Ukwa debating on how English can be really difficult at times.
Of course English can be confusing, especially how a female fan keeps arguing with me about the use of “in” and “at” for “Locations”.
Anyway, MC Ukwa gave some convincing yet hilarious Examples on why English is a stupid language, and of course I had every ounce of belief to believe him. You see what I did there? hehe..
